Guest Reviews
- Quarterris (2/5): - It's not even a hotel anymore but it's still taking reservations
- Sabrina (10/5): Better house keeping atleast twice a week - I don’t have a problem with management its great but the house keepers aren't genuine they lie to cover not doing their job correctly an if you not present when they arrive nothing is done properly its your word against theirs an im a paying customer
- Bridgette (2/5): - No hot water and was put out for calling about the hot water did not receive refund or any type of accommodation
- Anita (2/5): - I arrived at the property a hour and 30 minutes early they wouldn't let me in my room until 2:00 they're checking was at 3:00 and the one thing that the staff did not tell me and they knew was that they didn't have any hot water the hot water had been off since Friday. When I addressed the staff of the situation she stated the stuff that check you in didn't let you know that the hot water did not work. It had not been working since Friday but that they were working on it. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. From the pictures on the site it seemed to be a very nice hotel but in staying there it seemed like it was a ran down hotel that they are trying to remodel there is no heat in the hallways. They don't give you enough bath towels if you're traveling with a companion. Being on the Expedia website I feel that this hotel will bring your website down a lot.
- Jack (2/5): - At check in unable to find my reservation, when i got to my room tv didnt work. I did not have hot water for my 3 day stay.
- Joseph (2/5): Mistake made never again - Checked in an then find our rooms door lock wouldn't lock told front desk they gave us. New room th new room tv didn't work no remote the AC/heater unit blew off dust tried to call front desk but their phone system doesn't work even if youbus your cell phone wasn't worth it
- Brian (2/5): - Could not sleep there unsafe room stunk. Building in disarray just nasty.
- Verified traveler (4/5): unsafe, DIRTY, dont stay. - First thing i noticed in the hotel was how dirty/muddy the elevator floor was(1st pic). first thing i noticed in my room was dirty floor with dead bugs (2nd pic) then the towels were dirty too! (3rd pic). wifi frequently asks you to reconnect. Hallways have a loud echo, and there is this uncomfortably large gap under all the doors.(4th pic) Biggest issue was feeling unsafe the entire time. wont ever come back. DO NOT STAY HERE. Housekeeping replaced my dirty towel with another dirty towel
- Fred Allen (2/5): - Let me start by saying we only stayed here to stop and rest from travel and the reviews were 7 out of 10 so we went with it. But TRAVELERS BEWARE!!! DO NOT STAY HERE.
I checked in to a rude unprofessional staff. After seeing the reviews I was wondering how could this be the same place. I soon found out the hotel was under NEW Management, the reviews were from the prior operators. NOT the current.
I left to go have dinner and when I returned my key did NOT work. I went to the office, they did not have the ability to program my key or program a new key. (shocking right). The lady in the office who was extremely rude told me to wait at my room and maintenance would come let me in only he her "The box to program the door". I went to my door and after 20 minutes I called my employer to let her know I would be late getting on the video call because my room is still locked and I am awaiting maintenance to let me in.
My employer called customer service, connected me, we called the hotel after I was out there for 28 minutes. She began yelling and speaking belligerently saying "He's not outside, he hasn't been up there 30 minutes, Now, mind you I was NOT the only person with this issue that night. The maintenance guy at that time walked into the office. He later came, could NOT get in with his box. He left & came back later to break in my room to get us in. I was afraid to sleep, if he can just break in, anyone can. DO NOT STAY HERE. Being cheap got us this experience.
- Bryant (8/5): - TV worked this time
- Melissa (4/5): - Not a safe area
- Kehinde (8/5): - It was okay. Just wasn’t too clean and I wasn’t a fan of that so I won’t be staying here again
- cordeliaj1470 (2/5): Nasty, Filthy, & Infested - I checked into your hotel on 10/09/2021, and rented 2 rooms (rooms 130 & 131). Neither of the rooms were clean, just NASTY. I needed somewhere CLEAN to rest for the night. There were ROACHES and BUGS, sheets and the top cover was FILTHY and had STAINS. The bathroom had soap scum, table and tray on the table had not been washed, the refrigerator and microwave was NASTY and had not been washed. The floor had been swept, there was TRASH on the floor in between the nightstand and the bed.
I went to the front desk to request for CLEAN linen. She gave me a set of DINGY sheets. I went into a panic attack, my chest started hurting. I just couldn't take being there any longer. I had to leave. I would like a full refund for both of my rooms. I was not there more than 20 mins before letting the lady at the front desk know that I just could not stay in those conditions. The hotel was NASTY and staff were not presentable either. The young lady that checked us in was clean, sad to say the appearance of the others was not. The maintenance man in room 109 smelled like alcohol, he should NOT be the one that comes out to assist customers.
I am a travel agent and would never allow my clients to stay in any place like this. I have contacted the BBB and the Health Inspectors.
- Galactic_eyes (2/5): This place should be shut down as a Bio Hazard. - I can not recommend this place at all. First all there was blood splatter all in the floor and wall of the elevator which continued out into the third floor hallway. The room we got was worse than filthy. The bed literally looked like someone just crawled out of it. Hair, dirt and blood stains on the sheets. I asked for another room and it was same condition. It was so bad that my wife refused to sit down. Then we found out about the drug use and dealing that goes on there and that people have OD'd in the rooms.
We were there for a weeding and this was the closets place. We drove to a Holiday Inn and stayed which is what we should have done to begin with.
- I4298BQsarahl (4/5): It's Okay. Especially if you are not well traveled. - Well, as the other reviews: basic. Dated. It looked clean. Bed was comfortable. Walls thin enough to hear neighbors enjoying each other intimately. Cracks under the door/maybe ventilation so that you can smell people smoking cigarettes/marijuana in this "no smoking" facility. Towels like thin sand paper. A 2:00 potty call revealed at least 6 roaches, thus, I slept with the light on the rest of the night. And obviously not soundly... On the flip side, the bed was comfortable and the employees were friendly and helpful. There was no blow dryer in my bathroom because the outlet in the bathroom was not working. So the maintenance man bought me a blow dryer. I had to use in the bedroom without a mirror. Don't worry, I looked okay after doing it blindly. All this for $74 and change a night. You get what you pay for, right?
- ericaleigh95 (6/5): Pretty good - Me and my husband went for a night since we were visiting family in Albany. It was actually really nice in there for the price and location. if anything wasnt working right they came right away and fixed it. they need to have more restaurants around that deliver there though. We will more than likely be going back there soon. Thanks!
- CassB82 (4/5): Old rough dingy towels - The hotel was very basic, dated, did not feel clean, no facial tissues and towels were very dingy and rough. When we arrived in the room the refrigerator was unplugged. When we plugged it in we realized that it was probably unplugged because of the noise. Their was noise in the hallway and music that we were not sure where it came from throughout the night.
- RealisticKimmie (6/5): More than I expected - I must say since the change its nor3 than I expected they have a pool now which I didn't get to use but was clean. The bedding is very old but I brought my own. The room was clean however bathroom could have been scrubbed better but considering how it was before its 100 times better. I do suggest may be adding some sort of ratty as there is no food places nearby and no bus line near by which is weird. But all in all I enjoyed the stay inexpensive and decent
- eunk2018 (4/5): Will surprise 2 !! - It looks have remodeling recent but no control noises between floors and doors. I could not have sleep well. I use to sleep well but I woke up over 5 times. And also there is no ventilator in the restroom!!! If you need to have good rest, you will find other place.
- 876tamarah (2/5): Ghetto - I didnt realize that for ASU homecoming the hotels sell out a year in advance. I booked my room 2 month prior and this hotel was the only thing available. The room where ok other than the beds where very hard. But at the back door it was people sitting all outside the building combing they wigs. I have never in my lige seen this. All night long you could hear people talking and running in the hallway. My second night i didn't even allow my kids to stay it seemed unsafe
- runnergirl0415 (4/5): Dirty - The remodel was very nice but the room felt dirty. Floors didn't feel good on your feet. Found dirt laying on floor. Towels was not fresh. Sheets had hair and make up stains. Didn't have a coffee pot in room. Room was plain not much furniture. Sheets also felt old and rough. Will not stay again.
- boba137 (8/5): Will surprise! - This property continues to improve every time visit i see more positve changes that now it is becoming one of the areas best buys in lodging. During a recent stay i was given a tour of the renovations on the 3rd and 4th floors and they were excellent...hot tubs, large flat screen tv's, micro waves and fridges with charming wall hangings and decor. The new meeting room was almost finished and it was already one of the better ones i have seen in my travels with an outside activitues area. They have really turned this into one of the best lodging values in the area and i would recommend it for budget minded travel.
- mfields51 (8/5): A Great Value for the Bucks !!! - I stayed here over intoxicated the Valentine Day price rates and found the rooms were spacious, beddings, towels, and carpet could have used more tender care in the cleaning department. The curtains needed upgrading due to weather worn fading and lining tearing. Overall , the smell of the room was pleasant. There was plenty of tissues, coffeemaker, microwave, refrigerator, soaps, small packs of shampoo and conditioners, packages of drip coffee and sugars; however I could have done for much bigger packs of creamers and an iron to go along with the ironing board, it was nice. TRULY NICE.... no roaches, not a one and believe me I would have noticed because I am highly allergic. to all species of roaches....for the price I paid it was heaven and I would stay again. By the way my room was on the first floor and I came in and out to my room using that side door...no hookers or dealers....and just so you understand something now there are no lollypop safe hotels in Albany,Ga...no matter how you polish the floors or greet the guess you may still get ripped off by the staff, run across someone who's had a bad day of it...or just looks down on others....
- donnar783 (2/5): Awful - My husband was looking online for a hotel while I was driving. He found a good deal at the Regency Inn in Albany, GA. Well, if it sounds good, it probably isn't. The area was very scary, and when we walked in to check in, we found the receptionist behind bullet-proof glass. We should have walked out, but we were extremely tired. The lady was very nice, but she too seemed to fear who might walk in. We were given a room on the fourth floor. The smoke alarm was beeping, so I called the front desk to get a new battery. Well, no one could find one, so we just disconnected the smoke alarm and prayed that there would be no fire. The receptionist said that the fourth floor was rarely used, because most of the clientele are transients. People, like us, get to be farther away from them if we are on the fourth floor. Thus, we got the "penthouse." There are no restaurants in the immediate area, so if you're looking for convenience , don't stay here. The room was okay, but very worn. We do not recommend this hotel, and we will never stay there again!
- playboyslim_21 (2/5): Nasty!!! - Nasty Place Don't Stay Here!!! If U Do Bring Ur Shower Shoes
- Ponymiller1 (6/5): Not as bad as the other reviews say. - Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. didn't read the reviews until after we checked in.Good thing we didn't because it is not that bad. The bathroom is clean. Could use a new comforter on the bed. The pool is beautiful, but not open yet. There is a lounge downstairs that is pretty nice. There is a restaurant, but we haven't ate there yet. There is plenty of parking and it is quiet. There is absolutley nothing wrong with this hotel and I would stay again. The front desk clerk is very friendly and so is the maid. Very close to a variety of eating places and shopping. I would recomend this hotel to anyone. Great place for the cost.
- charlesR76 (2/5): Business Stay will not come back - This place is disgusting dirty, bad odor, rude staff, no maid service, along with having roaches
- TanzaniaJ (2/5): Filthy, Stinky, and Unsafe!!!! - We stayed here during our CDL training. The night we arrived the tub and toilet were filthy. We had to clean them ourselves before we used them. The carpet is so dirty that we walked around in shower shoes inside the room for fear of what was on the floor. The refrigerator was painted with "black mold" on the inside so we were unable to use it unless we wanted to clean it ourselves. Front desk's solution was to move us to another filthy room instead of cleaning the fridge. We slept on top of their linen using our own afraid of what was beneath the comforter given the condition of the room. People were doing drug deals out of the front and side entrance constantly. Someone was shot and killed outside of the hotel after leaving the "lounge" attached to the hotel. Management wanted to blame it on the lounge but it is a hotel issue since the hotel is attached, can be accessed from inside the hotel, and is advertised by the hotel. There was also a meth lab busted at the hotel. The murder made the local news: unsure about the meth lab. They advertise a continental breakfast which consists of a basket of plastic wrapped pastries purchased at Sam's and a pot of instant coffee. There are ironing boards in the room but you have to pay $10 for the iron. The key did not work so they had to try it several times before giving me another room which also had a key issue. There are girls walking around who clearly are prostitutes. There are also drug addicts walking around. Management including the Owner, Bob Patel, and Front Desk staff are rude, oblivious, and incompetent. The drug dealers, addicts, and prostitutes prop the rear door open so they can let more trouble in through the side door. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Bypass this place at all costs.
- Fanceemama07 (2/5): The worst hotel in the WORLD- DO NOT COME HERE - This hotel is the scum of the earth I look at previous guest who wrote on here too and I agree with them. THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN, THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOULD BE CALLED. I came down for a family function and the pillow was jet black like someone pooped on it and I showed the front desk clerk he told me there was no more rooms left. He was full of bologna. A hotel like this would not be able 2 keep guest because the hotel is a total disaster. I work at a hotel yes I do the Sleep Inn in Edgewood, Md and we value our guest and our hotel would win a million dollars if it was rated the cleanest. Do Not Stay Here its a waste of your time and money. I will not return to this hotel. And i spoke with the manager Patel he told me he would give me 10% off and I did not even receive a dime. Cheap hotel!!!!!!!
- Luvzgre8bargins (6/5): Wonderful Xtras - I paid $50 after state and hotel tax. I felt safe for the most part. The hotel is connected to a club and the walls are thin. So if you don't like a lot of noise, you might want to request a room not right next to the wall where the club is. And parking was hard due to the club goers. The room included coffee maker, frige/micro, blow dryer, and Iron/Board. The shower was an issue, the water wasn't coming out completely. The room was very large and spacious but the beds don't sleep that great. Due to the upkeep, $50 is a fair price. If you're only there for 1 nite, it will be good for that. If they would do some maintenance, it will be great bargin for the price. If you go here, check the towels and shower before you get comfortable.
- charmaleek (6/5): Average - Stayed at the hotel during the Albany State homecoming weekend and I only did so because every other hotel was booked solid. However, despite the horror stories, their rooms are surprisingly clean, the bathroom clean and the sheets and towels fresh. The front-desk operators (An indian man and a Jamaican? girl) were friendly and surprisingly professional. My one complaint was parking, there was absolutely no space to park - with the sharing of the parking lot with Sandtrap. I actually liked the place - surprisingly.
- Felix190603 (2/5): I would rather sleep in my truck! - The room was fitlthy. Carpet was badly stained. The bathroom sink leaked. Towels were dingy and we didnt feel safe at all.
