- Yenny (8/5): - This property is been remodeled and including expansion of the hotel, construction is taking place which is a sign of growth and upgrades. Beach is right across the street with options of a few restaurants and nightlife. In overall it was adequate for the price.

- Mary (8/5): Monte Cristi - Good for the price. Hotel is undergoing renovations. The staff is very attentive and accomodating. The location is perfect, right across from the beach and centrally located to restaurants and places to see.

- Lillian (8/5): - For 2 nights, hotel was decent enough, staff was sweet & helpful. Perfectly located at the center of the beach with bars and restaurants. The foods & drinks of the hotel were very good. Excellent air conditioning. The room can use an update: faucets for sink & shower area. Towel racks and a proper bathroom door for privacy would have been nice. I requested to change rooms due no water pressure, they just had to flip a switch, then it was perfect for me but by the time my friend showered it was gone again. Next morning had to request the water pressure again, not sure how much $ they save by turning the water pressure off but seems silly to not understand it is necessary for a proper shower. Queen bed was good, twin bed was not, very springy, probably meant for a child. In general, I would stay again since it is in a central location and the staff was very attentive, I would just try for another room.

- Mason (4/5): Good and bad - Well first I will compliment the hotel for having a pleasant staff in the restaurant and lobby. Also they presented us a clean room. But now I have to speak of the negatives. 1. The swimming pool was cloudy. I told the front lobby the pool had problems since you couldnt see the bottom. It was cloudy. That was the first day on the deep end. But on second day even the shallow side was cloudy. The staff excused it as not a problem. When a foreigner, who has experience with swimming pools tells you there’s something wrong, the staff should be responsible enough to see what the problem is. I could tell the problem was most likely because they were not turning on the pump to the swimming pool and possibly the filter was clogged. So we did not use the swimming pool. 2. They advertised a king bed and we got a queen instead. 3. They said our room had an ocien view. Only if they cut the trees back properly. 4. If you are there for some peace and quiet, forget about it. If I was the owner of the hotel, I would have very strong and demanding words with the local politicians, as well as the bar owners outside. The noise level was horrible, especially at night and continued till about 2 o’clock in the morning with someone setting off fire works. The locals are loud and obnoxious with their music loudness competition. If you are there for the big party life and sleeping till late the next morning, it’s perfect. But if you want rest, I would recommend Wyndham Hotel.

Tienen un problema grande con la ventilacion, en los baños sale un mal olor del toilet. Los Mosquitos tambien son un problema, este hotel esta al lado de un pantano. Y la higiene deben dw ponerle mas enfoque. En en lobby hay muchos gatos que dejan un mal olor, pelos y no se ve personal disinfectando muebles y mesas. Un animalito que pase se tolera, pero son varios gatos que ya tienen la costumbre de quedarse ahi. En cuanto al servicio es promedio, 2 empleados fueron muy serviciales en el restaurante durante mi estadia. Ojala mejoren, pues esa provincia necesita de hoteles buenos para ir a disfrutar de sus lindas playas

The beachfront celebrations over the weekend were quite loud and the room we were moved to was much quieter than the room originally booked. The room was large and clean. Furniture was older but still comfortable and clean. We were not disappointed with the stay.

We provided our confirmation number from Orbitz, and they stated that their computer system and Orbitz don't communicate, so they booked the rooms that Orbitz "reserved" for us. Very uncomfortable for people like me who are allergic. The service was not that great. I had to chase the girl down when I needed something when we were the only two people there. Could be better. But it’s very close to El Morro so I’d visit again!

- Leonore (8/5): Good location, good price. - The hotel was nicely located and it felt very safe considering Covid-19. We enjoyed the breakfast and found the price to be very favorable. Air conditioning was also a nice perk for the price point.

Although the hotel advertises that breakfast is included, the staff tries to find every possible reason to charge you for it. (To include increasing the price of something else to make up the difference). The area has tons of cats and it smells like a litter box outside. Also, expect to wake up early due to cats moaning outside the door. The price for our stay was reasonable and the front desk staff was friendly and accomodating. Hot water wasnt great, but thats pretty normal for the area.

- Luca (8/5): Hotel regular - Bueno, fuimos a pasar unas vacaciones, conocer, elegimos el hotel por nuestro perro que lo aceptaban pero las condiciones del hotel no fueron muy agradables, el servicio era más o menos, el personal no está capacitado, el área de restaurante y comida es pésimo, no hay calidad, necesita muchas mejoras, las habitaciones deberían estar en mejores condiciones, las camas super incómodas y pequeñas, éramos dos personas y la cama muy pequeña, dormíamos muy incómodos. Pero Montecristi es un. Pueblo pequeño que no tiene mucho que ofrecer. Si deciden vacacionar no duren más de dos noches.

- Justin (8/5): Great Bargain, Beautiful Area - I have been living and traveling in the DR for 2 years (40+ trips) and this hotel is the best value I've had. A spacious, clean comfortable sea view room with AC and fridge for 34 bucks a night? Wow!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When we arrived there was a big event happening on the beach so there were lots of people around and not enough staff to handle the additional demand and throughout the afternoon and evening staff seemed harassed and unfriendly. The room was awful, desperately in need of a good clean and re-decorating (paint peeling off the walls and ceilings, electric sockets broken).The cable box was missing from the TV and when we asked to have this sorted this kicked off a 2 hour saga with no resolution - apparently no other rooms available and the manager was sleeping. We planned to cut our stay short and move on the next day but I became ill and couldn't travel but really didn't want to stay in that room all day with nothing to do. Interestingly enough several rooms were available at 9am in the morning for an additional cost! We paid the upgrade but the next room was still tired and in need or re-decorating but was marginally cleaner. We did receive a handwritten apology from the manager for her poor handling of the situation the night before and the staff on duty on the Monday and Tuesday mornings were much more friendly than on the Sunday. Also point to note, lots of cats and dogs roaming around the place and we received lots of nasty bites during the stay - possibly fleas. I would not recommend this place before a major restoration.
