• DollyBirdScotland (10/5): Great central choice - We were here just for one night after finishing our Trans-Siberian rail trip. It's a Soviet designed hotel which we love - this means clean, simple and functional architecture with wide, spacious and light interior. We got a room overlooking the lovely square and the city, the rooms have an internal door making a small lobby or porch which ALL hotels should have, it makes the room so much more cosy and quiet. Sorry we were only here for one night in beautiful Irkutsk. Oh Breakfast starts at 3 am! which means it's perfect for travellers. Friendly check in, security and plenty of amenities inside the hotel [at least two restaurants, bar]. Wish we had longer here.
• Marina (8/5): Расположение топ, остальное так себе - Удобное расположение, сам отель не плох, но не идеален. Завтрак так себе и дорогой по сравнению с кафе вокруг. Холодильник не работает. В номере есть чайник и чашки, но нет заварки и ложек. Кровать не очень удобная. На двоих дают одно миниатюрное одеяло. Особой критики заслуживают лифты, в которые с трудом входит 3 человека. Из-за этого по утрам их приходится очень долго ждать. Также ресторан Пекинская уткп просто ужасен. Не советую.
• DMITRII (10/5): Хороший недорогой выбор в центре города. - Хороший большой отель в центре города. Построен давно, но видимо был частично отремонтирован и выглядит достаточно неплохо. Номера небольшие, но комфортные. Есть холодильник, чайник. Администраторы вежливы. Кулер с водой на этаже. В пешей доступности до большинства достопримечательностей города.

• Olga (8/5): - останавливалась на 1 день перед поездкой на Байкал. Очень удобное расположение, неплохой завтрак. Номер старый, шум с улицы.
• EvyBee (8/5): Nice place for your city stay in Irkutsk - We stayed here just one night on our way back from Baikal lake, so we chose the hotel based on location and price. We were though positively surprised. Its a very large hotel, seems like one of the former soviet tourist hotels, now remodelled. 1) Friendly personnel, check-in was done efficiently. 2) Good price for what you get. 3) Location is great and if you have a room overlooking the main square it is really beautiful, especially during Christmas time when we travelled as there were beautiful decorations. 4) Room. We had the cheapest standard room, which is quite cosy, but very pracdtically arranged. Twin beds, night stands with power outlets, fridge, desk, cupboard. Bathroom has toiletries. Unlimited hot water and very very strong shower pressure (and I mean strong!). Lots of good sized towels. 5) We didnt try breakfast as we left too early, but in the hotel there is a very good Chinese place were we had dinner. Highly recommended tastes authentic Chinese. There is also a pub, which we didnt try but it looked also very nice. 6) Good location. You have shops right next to the hotel and a beautiful square/park in front. Good location for sightseeing too. Only 16 min to airport if no traffic!
• Denis (10/5): Иркутск, Благодарю! - Отличная гостиница! Очень удобно расположена относительно центра и главных достопримечательностей. Также здорово, что близко до центрального рынка, примерно 10-12 минут пешком (это для тех, кто повезёт из Сибири родственникам и друзьям вкусную рыбу, мёд, кедровые орехи, варенье из шишек и пр.). Что касается сервиса, то всё чётко, вежливо, доброжелательно. В номере (как и в других помещениях) чисто и удобно, гель-шампунь-зуб.щётка - ждут вас. Завтрак отличный, полный ассортимент того, что должно быть в 4* отелях, если ориентироваться на европейские звёзды. Также в номере чайник, в холле на этаже кулер. Рядом с гостиницей остановка общественного транспорта - до аэропорта можно доехать на автобусе. Но я предпочёл заказать на ресепшн такси. Вечером хорошо наблюдать закат над Ангарой (из гостиницы вправо пешком пять минут до набережной, до реки). В общем, рекомендую всем и отель, и город (чудесные церкви, музеи - в первую очередь Дом-музей С. Волконского, театр им. Охлопкова - красивейшее здание, сохранившиеся деревянные жилые дома и другие памятники, скульптуры, скверы. Два дня пешком по Иркутску - прекрасные впечатления на всю жизнь!!!
• RichardH5566 (8/5): Travel to Irkutsk - Nice place, very big, bar, restaurant, coffee shop, good location, polite staff. Across from a vary large park and close to down town. Many things to do within walking distance.24 hour front desk, English language is limited but can be workable in most situations. I had no problems with requests from staff. The people and maids are polite and helpful. Thank you very much.

• vodkatrain_1001Trips (4/5): Standard Hotel -Soviet Style- - Hotel Angara is very central in the heart of Irkutsk. Service and Style has still a big touch from the Soviet century. Especially service at the bar - very let’s say „strange“. Also a big disappointment is the nose at night. All night long young people racing their cars and motorcycle around the square at the hotel. Short night and almost no sleep!

• Verified traveler (8/5): - The reception is pointless cause they do nothing else besides checking you in so you have to deal with other staff to solve your problems or concerns. The staff on duty on each floor is good. Breakfast is poor and coffee is bad. The hotel is fairly clean. No iron in a room. Restaurant service is poor but food made for the room service is fairly good.

Отелю желательно в ночное время либо запросить дежурство ГИБДД, либо потратить деньги на установку «лежачего полицейского». Спать в выходные просто невозможно: шум от тех, кто устраивает гонки на машинах без глушителей, и никто ничего не может сделать.
• donna (2/5): The worst hotel on my one-month journey to Russia - This hotel seems to be well suited to Chinese group tourists. I made a reservation at Hotels.com and It was a total disaster[mess]. because there were too many Chinese people in groups. They dropped food on the floor of the restaurant, walking around the restaurant eating food, foods are soon disappeared. I booked a single room, but the receptionist tricked me and gave me a room without a safe and air conditioner. I took a Hotels.com reservation voucher and asked for a room with an air conditioner and a safe. The concierge standing in the hall was like a piece of wood to be blunt(They all seemed to be exhausted by the group people). This hotel was the worst hotel on this one month trip to Russia.

• ivanparkin (8/5): Central Hotel - Although primarily aimed at business customers, Angara is a good hotel for tourists due to its very central location. Check in was efficient, if not the friendliest, but once again, think business hotel. Our room, a suite on the front of the hotel was both spacious and spotlessly clean. Kettle and fridge in the room were useful. We also had a great view of the Kirov Park right outside the hotel. Breakfast, served in one of the hotel restaurants (depending on which floor you are staying) was the normal continental style with enough variety to keep you going. As mentioned, all the major sights of Irkutsk are within reasonable walking distance. You can even walk to the train station in about 20 minutes if you are continuing your journey by rail. Nice restaurant attached to the hotel "The London Pub" good food, and drinks at reasonable prices. There is also a Chinese? restaurant in the hotel complex. The bus stop is right outside should you need it and there is a supermarket next door for supplies. Overall, a very good stay.

• JSRV-R (4/5): A Business Hotel, Not Great for Tourists - Our tour company booked this hotel, and it is excellently positioned to see around the city. As I wrote in the title, there is nothing for tourists here - no leaflets about local attractions, the reception staff didn't even know about buses outside, only a small map of the city was available, which at least was free, but felt like a token gesture. Through our stay this felt much more like a hotel for business, as no one seemed able to answer questions about anything in Irkutsk, apart from taking a taxi to wherever ... Each floor was 'supervised' by a stern woman behind a desk, but ours was often talking to someone in her room or just not there. Our room was OK, but the air conditioning was faulty. We rang reception and they put us through to our floor supervisor, who said she was too busy to come to the room and suggested we open a window. She never appeared to see if we were OK. It seemed that where you had breakfast depended on which floor you were staying, so we ended up in a breakfast area of two small rooms forming some kind of bar, and it was packed all the time. The staff had trouble keeping tables cleared and had little idea about the food. The tray of fried eggs was empty for some time, and when it was replaced all the eggs were quite cold. Finally, our train was leaving in the evening so we asked to leave our baggage in the storeroom - a standard request. Yes for the only time in our 4-week holiday we were required to pay a storage fee!! It felt unfriendly

• Verified traveler (8/5): ロケーションが良く大きなホテルです。 - 空港からバスで美術館下車徒歩5分。キーロフ広場に面しスーパー・飲食店が隣接。横に長くエレベーターは右寄りにあるため、各フロアのエレベーターホールから見た通路の長さは圧巻だが、奥の方の部屋だと歩くのが大変。ホテル入口と各フロアに人がおりセキュリティはしっかりしている。部屋は広くはないが設備はそろっており問題なし。水はエレベーターホール前に汲みに行ける。朝食は1Fのレストランでバイキング形式であり種類も豊富でどれも美味しかった。

• 888travelbird (6/5): Hotel in central location. - As I often travel solo it's very important for me to stay in a safe and central location. Hotel Angara is located in historical part of the town. Rooms are small but clean. Staff is polite and helpful. Buffet breakfast has all you need. I will stay again.
• Kenji (8/5): 街の中心部にあってとにかく便利 - 空港からのバスや港からのバスもホテル前に着き、街の中心部にあってとにかく便利な立地。また建物の1階テナント（外に出る必要があるものの）には24時間営業のスーパーや、地元チェーン店のファミレスなども入っているので、出費を抑えた滞在が出来る。 なお、公園側の部屋だと良かったのだが、逆側の部屋だったので景色はあまり良くなかった。
• KYUNG SUG (6/5): 위치 좋으나 서비스 별로 - 에어컨이없는방을주네요.도착해서더웠는데 에어컨없고 세면기는 구멍에뚜껑이없고물은정수기를이용하라고하네요. 치솔치약 티 커피등 없고 커피포트만 있어요. 더워서 창문을 열면바로 앞에 도로변이라 밤새 소음이.방을 바꿔달라는 요청에 방이없다면서 싱글룸두개 한개는5층끝,한개는6층끝에,우리가 가족이라해도 방이 없다는 말만 계속. 결국 에어컨없고 시끄러운 도로변방에 머물렀어요. 중심가라 주변에 앙가라강,무명용사비,공원, 꺼지지않는불꽃,사랑의다리,각종관공서 다있어서 위치는최고.

• ChrigiZH (10/5): Very nice rooms - We got a very nice 2 rooms hotelroom. It was a very nice and very clean room. Everything looked nice and was furbished in a typical russian style. The room was very clean and the beds were very cosy. We got some very good rest there and would stay there again any time! There is also a Pub called "London Pub" in the hotel. It is more like a restaurant than a pub but a good place to spend an evening with good staff and good food. The hotel is located in the city center right at the Kirov square. It's the perfect place to explore the city and there is a supermarket right next to the hotel. If you're in Irkutsk this Hotel is a good adress!
• kerrycat (6/5): Average hotel - I arrive here and checked in. They kept my passport for about 2 hours to register me. I went up to my floor and was met by another reception lady. I went to my assigned room and it wasn't cleaned after the previous person. I told them and they changed my room immediately. The room itself was compact but sufficient. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. The WiFi was great and the hotel was very clean. However my new room key wouldn't work. I was told I'd have to go back to reception. Why have a receptionist on each floor if they cannot help me. I found that strange. Also don't expect a smile from them. I know Russian hospitality differs from home but this was very bad. On check out I wanted to store my luggage for 3 hours. That cost 100rub and it seemed to be an inconvenience to them. Breakfast was in the London pub which was lovely. Typical Russian breakfask. Location was very central. Would I stay again. Probably not.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable hotel, centrally located - I found Angara to be a comfortable enough hotel. The location is good, the amenities are fine. I appreciated having a tourist agency right in the hotel. Also, there is a 24-hour grocery store in the building as well as an affordable restaurant. One odd thing about the hotel was that there is a teapot and teacups in your room, but no teabags, so had to buy tea myself.
• R (4/5): Problems, problems - Although Expedia allowed us to book a room for two adults and a child, when we reached the hotel, we were told we had to pay extra for a third person in the room. We paid a lot for a very thin cot (which surely could have been purchased outright for less than we paid). Maybe this is an issue with the communication between the Expedia booking system and Russian hotels, but we didn't have this problem at any other locations. Staff was indifferent and acted like they had plenty of other better things to do than to help their customers. One other example - we had been provided an e-mail contact through the hotel's website chat to make arrangements for a bus ride. But no one ever responded to the e-mails we sent, and we ended up making arrangements on our own. There were other issues, but the whole stay was just unpleasant. I don't think this kind of hotel should be listed on Expedia at all, especially if the reservation price is not accurate.
• 678njk (6/5): Soviet experience - Rooms quite small, but clean. Breakfast at adjoining London Pub was of good quality. Staff is indifferent, unresponsive, and unfriendly. If you are nostalgic for a dour Intourist Soviet-era experience, this hotel carries more than a whiff of that atmosphere. Nothing severely wrong with this place, but it has a weird vibe and is a depressing place to be. Surely Irkutsk has better options on offer.
• Steven (6/5): Big hotel, lots of Chinese Tourists. - The hotel was OK. Location not bad. It caters to large Chinese tourist groups so it can be a bit noisy and crowded. Worst part was the breakfast buffet. Food was OK but the service staff was lethargic and constantly let items run out. ie: no coffee, no cups, no milk, no bowls, empty hot food trays etc. Very bad service.
• Regis (10/5): Un hôtel agréable bien situé - Transit de deux jours / une nuit à Irkutsk où je séjournais pour la troisième fois, je suis retourné à l'hôtel Angara pour la seconde fois, étant très satisfait de mon séjour précédent. Ancien hôtel Intourist, il n'est pas au top de la modernité mais il est très bien situé, bien équipé avec divers services (restaurant, agence de voyage, magasin de souvenirs ......). De l'aéroport, bus 3 ou 20 (15 roubles). Comptez 200 à 300 roubles maximum en taxi.
• michaelahine26 (6/5): Nice hotel but had a few problems - In general, the hotel was nice (clean, comfortable, helpful staff). However, the air conditioning did not work all the time and it was quite noisy at night because it is such a large hotel. We tried to go to the swimming pool but for some reason it was 'booked out' on that evening. The breakfast was nice, however. The location is very central, so this suited us.

• Bozeman-Dublin (8/5): Excellent Central Hotel - Really nice hotel right in the heart of town on Kirov Square. The rooms were very small but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There's too much ti do in Irkutsk to stay in yiur roim anyway! There is a great bar attached to the hotel, the London Pub. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was so convenient for all the main sights like the cathedral and the riverbank. I think its a great option for anyone coming to Irkutsk and I'd have no hesitation in staying here again.

• 911RogerW (6/5): It was ok - Stayed just one night. Reception welcoming and helpful. Room not brilliant - quite small and not very well furnsihed, Wi fi in room poor - much better in the floor seating area. We were checking out very very early - the hotel very helpfully provided an excellent packed breakfast. Hotel positioned on main square so very convenient.

• Verified traveler (2/5): 過去に宿泊した中で最も対応の悪いホテル/Worst Hotel Ever!! - ホテルスタッフは英語が話せず無礼な対応だった。ホテルでタクシーを呼んでもらい、タクシー代金を確認すると電卓で「300」と示されたが降車時にドライバーから350を請求された。ホテルのスタッフに確認の電話をすると「そんなことは一言も話していない」非を認めるどころか「あなたの勘違い」の一点ばりで、不用なトラブルで帰国便に乗り遅れるところだった。Hotel stuff was rude and couldn't speak English well. I called a taxi by stuff. I asked in easy English as possible as I can, "How much?" They Indicated for me "300" by calculate, but the taxi driver said "350". It was in trouble.
• Katherine (8/5): Great location, good value - This is renovated Soviet style hotel, not a new western chain. So keeping that in mind, and the relative value, it's been a very comfortable, convenient stay in a picturesque location. My room looked out onto Kirov Square and several beautiful buildings. The staff is accommodating and patient with my broken Russian. I liked it and the town so much, I extended my stay.
• TorontoRover (8/5): Day Room - I was here on a Trans-Siberian rail trip and we had 2 rooms for the day while doing a walking tour of the city before catching the Train for our next leg of the trip. The rooms assigned to us were small but adequate to hold luggage and rest as needed. I enjoyed the city walking tour and later the bar lounge at this hotel. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. Good selection of beverages . I particularly enjoyed the British style restaurant at the other end of the Lobby. There is another by the Bar/Lounge that is Asian style cuisine and appeared popular by Asian tourists. A special note must be given to the antique shop in a farther wing of the lobby. There I purchased a couple of very unique Vintage/Antique items for a very reasonable price!! The shop is tiny and easily overlooked amongst other more flashy shops!! The location of the hotel is central to all the amenities of a city center and worth being at for exactly that!!
• Jeho (8/5): 위치가 좋은 호텔 - 이르쿠츠크에서 가장 좋은 위치는 중앙시장 근처일지 모르지만, 전체적인 도시지형을 생각하면 안가라호텔이 있는 지역이 더 좋은 지역이라 생각합니다. 전체적으로 맘만 먹으면 다 도보로 이동이 가능하고요. 호텔이 위치한 지역도 관광서가 몰려 있는 지역이라 조용하고 좋습니다. 호텔은 옛날 호텔이지만 객실은 깔끔합니다.
• grandmasescapades (6/5): Good Location - This hotel is on Kirov square which is a great location. The room was ok but the restaurant was pretty bad there are not enough seats and they ran out of most things. It is decorated like a dodgy night club I think they use it for dinner as well but once a day was more than enough for me.
• CamdenNSW (8/5): Sightseeing - The hotel is located on the historical part of the town and overlooks a beautiful park. It is close to the railway for the trail traveller's. The rooms was clean but very noisy. We had to change rooms after our first day because the shower wasnt working. The hotel seems to cater to asian school children. There were quite a lot of them. They were obnoxious, drunk and yelling all night. The breakfast was disgusting the fruit has soft with black spots and the rest not very apertising. We ate out dispite paying for a breakfast package. I would stay at the Marriott. This hotel is lacking something maby its the not so friendly staff.
• _khovdhotel (10/5): Great Hotel - There are plenty of room at the hotel. It is located at the shore of the sea Angara. If want to experience cold winter, you can travel to Irkutsk in winter. We enjoyed staying at the hotel. Our flight was early in the morning. So, we did not have breakfast

• 99mikaelj (8/5): Good functional hotel, in some respects very good - From the outside, this hotel is ugly ... however it definitely has its good points: -    Spotlessly clean -    Good bed ... though just about all Russian beds seem to be hard -    The water pressure in the bathroom is outstanding ... we got off the train after a couple of days in 2nd class so this was important -    We got the hotel to do some washing for us. They got it back to us the same day with no 'express' fee  and the cost was very modest - we did need to pay in advance. The location is OK - we did catch a taxi to a trendy row of restaurants - cost was R150 - booked by the hotel so we had no issues. We walked back - about 20 minutes. I would happily recommend the Agora.
• Verified traveler (2/5): 안가라호텔 이용하지 마세요 - 메일이나 전화로 도착전에 공항 픽업을 부탁하였지만 공항에 나오지 않았으며 사과 한마디 조차 없었으며 객실3개을 6인이 예약하였지만 예약한 객실이 없다며 4인을 다른 객실로 주었으며 매우 협소하며 청결하지 않은 방을 주었고 베드 1개가 잠을 잘 수 없을 정도로 망가져 있었지만 교체해 주지 않았고 객실 교체도 해 주지 않았습니다 무조건 다음날에 해결 해 줄수 있다면 일방적으로 말하였습니다 조식 식당도 매우 협소하여 한참을 기다려 식사를 할수 있었습니다 사이트에서 본 이미지와는 너무나 다른 모습입니다. 직원들이 너무 불친절 합니다. 모든 분들이 이 내용을 참고하시길 바랍니다. 귀사는 이런 호텔은 회원사에서 제외 해 주시길 바라며 또 다른 분들에게 피해가 가지 않도록 해주시기 바랍니다 호텔 때문에 좋은 여행이 불편한 하고 화가 나는 여행이 되었습니다.
• Tarik (8/5): Decent hotel stay - The hotel is in a good location. Clean. Breakfast is big and good. Staff are friendly but they work very long hours: 24 hours! Yes, 24 hrs and they take the next day off!!! Security staff are usually standing on your way between the entrance and the elevators. You have to go around them to reach the lift!!! Overall, the hotel is recomanded. Good for the price.
