Guest Reviews
- Dannielle (10/5): Good Stay - Very good location, close to the main street and beaches
- Vincent (8/5): -
- Vallone (10/5): - Très bien situé, tout était parfait
- Fairus (7/5): -
- Reuben Slater (6/5): - The location is good. The owner is really kind, helpful and happy. The gardens are very nicely kept. The gas can regulator valve for the stove needs replacing. It is not acceptable to place rocks on top to keep them from leaking gas.
The floors of the chalets need washing, they are very dirty.
The bed sheet needs to be big enough for two people.
The owner could really do with some help to get on top of cleaning and maintenance. I didn't have time, but maybe someone can volunteer as payment towards the price of staying? I hope so.

- SanderVeenendaal (8/5): Great basic island stay - We were warmly greeted by the host upon arrival, which was very nice. Whenever we had any questions the host was ready to answer and he booked a taxi for us to leave the island with the first ferry at 6:45 am.
The room was very island-y, which was great. There was a little terrace for some hanging out and the compound itself had a very chill vibe to it. The shower in the room had great water pressure, and even though there is no temperature adjustment, the temperature was fine as well. The beds aren't super comfy, and there was no AC. However, this is not a huge deal because we were provided with an extra fan (on top of the ceiling fan) which also worked fine.

- Uffaale (5/5): - La location meravigliosa Il proprietario molto scortese
- Deenah Dewi (6/5): -
- Andrea (7/5): -
- val_lorre (5/5): - The garden is good and also the position really near to beautiful beach The houses need to be repaired and cleaned more
No hot water
- Muhd Syahrir Ahmad (10/5): - Values for money
- Nicola (7/5): Nice stay in Pangkor - The property has a great location near to the best beach of the highland. Nice restaurant also available. It has a beautiful garden with hammocks and the staff memeber is the kindest person ever, always welcoming you with a big smile and always being helpful. The bedroom was nice and in line with the price paid. The bathroom instead was quite bad, wet and completely covered in black mold due to no windows/air filter.
- Christine (5/5): Mixed feelings - The location is great. Only a few minutes from the beach and places to eat. The garden and seating area there are lovely. You can see that someone once designed them thoughtfully and beautifully.
Room was big. A/C worked well. Bed was comfortable.
You can see that the place was once loved. But everything has seen better days and looks a bit abandoned, tbh. See below.
Note: Pangkor is lovely!! Hornbills, monkeys, amazing beaches (though water visibility wasn't great, if you like snorkelling). The island is calm and peaceful during the week, but lively and bustling with local tourists on weekends and school holidays. I arrived in the evening and was told that my room (booked months in advance, confirmed and paid - supposed to be a queen room with a little veranda / balcony looking into the garden) was not available because other people decided to stay longer.
I was then asked to pay more for another room, because it has air condition. My original booking said nothing about fan or AC. Even though I advised that I am not interested in A/C there seemed to be no alternative. After negotiation I paid only 5 RM per night more, rather than 10. This is not about the money, but about the fact I had a room booked, confirmed and paid - and in the end had to pay more for a room I did not want.
I got a stuffy dark room with a mouldy bathroom near reception.
I can totally rough it, if it needs to be. But this is way too much money for what you get. There is no drinking water. There are 2 old fridges in the garden that are not working (so you cant store anything), there is no WiFi. The owner can't even advise you where to get a coffee in the morning. There is no rubbish bin in your bathroom or room (and you don't get one when you ask - you are advised to dispose of your rubbish in the bin in the garden).
All that said, over the days I got the feeling that the owner is actually a nice guy. And of course I do not know his situation and why the place is not maintained. I also got to see the bungalows at the top / end of the garden, and they are actually nice. Very simple, with fan, but the bathrooms cleaner, the air fresher because theres a bit of wind up there, the little terrace looks over the garden - no luxury, but really nice, especially with all the nature around. Would have been happy with those (and they are actually cheaper!). So, overall, mixed feelings.
- NEOUZE (10/5): - Super accueil du propriétaire
- Reinette (8/5): - Nice little hut, comfortable bed, plenty of water in the shower. Close to the beach and shops but still calm and quiet. No Wi-Fi. It is in a predominantly Muslim area so cafes and restaurants do not serve alcohol, however, it is a short walk to the next beach where they do.
- Christian (7/5): - Nice chill out area with some books/board games. The staff is very nice. It's not very loud at night The room could use some renovations, for example the mosquito net needs some readjustment.
- Mona (5/5): -
- Dominique (9/5): -
- Timothe (10/5): - Lieu sympatique
Proximité avec les plages et commerces
Matelas confortable
- Rebecca (8/5): - It's fun to stay on this side of the island.
The owner is friendly and helpful.
The camp is beautifully surrounded by trees. When we put a smoke coil at the entrance to our room, it was very effective at removing the mosquitoes from our room; however, it would be more comfortable if there were mosquito nets over the room window and after the entrance.
- William (10/5): -
- Maames (7/5): -
- Sameer (10/5): Nazri camp house - Everything was perfect, As compared to any other place at Nipah Nazri Guest house was the most cost efficient.
I understand it looks like it was not as beautiful as other guest houses but it's worth the money.
Huge common area with swings,Free barbeque no need to pay extra unlike other guest house.
The outside bathroom is clean & neat so you don't have to wait in the room for your turn, one can use the washroom & shower outside.
Special mention to care taker Zikhri best host.helpful.
All & All worth the price, if they upgrade the price will go up as well All good.
- Mohd Shahrul Afandi (10/5): -
- Alexander (7/5): -
- harvey (10/5): Wonderful - especially the location! - Just calm and relaxed. The owner is very friendly and even gave me a lift back from a long trek! Na
- Aisyah (7/5): Kalau dtg nak healing, chill, lepak, enjoy vibe pantai – tmpt ni mmg padu. Cuma jgn expect too much. - Lokasi memang padu, jalan kaki tak sampai 5 minit terus sampai pantai.
Suasana kat sini memang chill habis – rasta vibe dia memang layan, sesuai sangat kalau nak tenangkan kepala.
Parking luas, senang nak park motor. Kitorang sewa 6 biji motor NO HAL.
Aircond sejuk, tidur malam selesa.
Booking tulis check-in pukul 12 tengah hari, tapi sebenarnya kena masuk after 2 petang.
Pintu ketat sikit, nak buka kena tolak kuat.
Pernah skali tertinggal kunci dlm bilik – tanya owner, dia takde spare key. Sungguh tak membantu, owner siap salahkan kite balik. Nasib baik tingkap tak kunci, amik lalu tingkap.
Lampu agak malap, ada beberapa tak menyala.
- muhamad (6/5): - Simple chill and i like it Near at beach and shop
- Hafiz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fatin (10/5): Marvelous! - Got so many area in the property to hangout. Can lay and relax on the hammock. Nature
- 20 (1/5): Bad - No Nazri Nipah Camp totally worst
- Kirthana (1/5): Bad -
- Paulo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aliff (2/5): Very poor -
- Eve (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful huts surrounded by jungle with a very short walk to restaurants and the best beach on the island. You can see monkeys and hornbills from the place. Definitely would recommend.
- Muhammad (2/5): Very poor -
- Aidi (6/5): Enjoyable stay at Nazri Nipah camp ning - Good location, short walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Also short walking distance to the small water fall and jungle hike. Peaceful and quiet setting, nice garden, kind and friendly owner.
Rooms and beddings were reasonably clean.
Nice communal eating area with kitchen corner.
Scooter rent available. First of all price was way too high for the quality of the rooms. Rooms are very old, dark and small, get very hot during afternoon, need serious renovation and plumbing. The whole place looked abandoned and worn out and would benefit from some Love.
Be aware of monkeys when eating your food in the kitchen area. In overall we accepted poor conditions because we paid for 5 days and didn't want to loose the money, but it felt like a scam, photos and ratings doesn't match the reality.
However, it can be a good place for low budget backpackers.
- Norkhir (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and quiet place close to the beach.
Shared kitchen and nice place so sit together. For that money absolutely fair It was all fine for us
- Liza (7/5): Good -
- Sajib (4/5): Disappointing - As like Ghost house Like a jungle house, no clean the outside areas. Toilets and other facilities very bad
- Joseph (5/5): Very budget, should probably be less. No air con, no wifi, leaking shower, leaking toilet, no sink plug, staff non exist - Really close to the best beaches on the island which made the stay better. No air con, no wifi, leaking shower, leaking toilet, no sink plug, staff non existent, damaged door and bed frame was snapped.
- Maria (3/5): Poor - The location Beds and pillows really old and dirty. Not clean, the place could be really nice if they would take care a bit of it
- Ikmal (10/5): Exceptional - Good vibe for people how love kampung style,so far good for my family I hope can be change a bit more for around table and facility for people for stay
- Mathiyalagan (5/5): Passable - The bathroom is clean n big The room was too Hot n no electricity when raining
- Tenang2 (1/5): Bad - We only like the cat All of them especially when we stay inside the 'almari' or known as closet. The staff were acting like shit and so many web inside the place. It's not valid for paying about 86.40 .I NOT RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE FOR EVERONE
- Muslina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ibrahim (3/5): Poor -
- Alban (4/5): meh - location is great
fan in the cottage
bed is OK.
bathroom ok I found it expensive for what I got.
2 people per cottage is too much. I was alone and it is just enough.
the door of the cottage was knackered. anyone can enter with enough willingness.
plenty of mosquitoes.
the residence was not so clean. when I arrived, a monkey was eating thr leftovers of someone.
- Orakzai (2/5): Very poor -
- Kamilla (9/5): Good - It's a camp, so according to that and the price is good. There is a small gas for cooking, fridge, and water boiler, towels, toilet paper, shampoo.
Very good location, nice garden. The owner is not kind or helpful, but ok.
The bungalows are very small, though good for one person, or two with small luggage, or if you use only for sleeping. The shared toilet is a bit far. The fan go to your face, but without its too hot.
We changed for a bigger hut for extra money, it was nice, but same problem with the fan.
No drinking water provided.
- Miah (2/5): Very poor - Nice location I can't use one room still i didn’t get back money 🥲
Don't Have WiFi
Toilets condition also 👎
- Caterina (8/5): Very good -
- Kohonyicz (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is very nice and take care of us :)
- Ain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denis (1/5): Bad - I wrote to you on your site....very bad experience and I requested to refound to us the cost of our booking. Horrible place without service and room with ants on our pillow and mattress.. The owner was agressive and unpleasant. A bad person. When arrived he was not there until 2 hours later... So we want a refund. We quit the place for another one. See above....
- Per (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed in one of the the A-frame huts, perfect for a solo traveller. Simple, but clean. Very friendly owner. Good location, lovely garden with monkeys. Will come again! Nothing
- Didier (7/5): Good -
- K (10/5): Justafinnishguy - Cozy, relaxing vibe. Really excellent. Monkeys gave a nice touch 😄 Nothing was wrong so.
- Vincent (6/5): Mixed feelings - Location
Charming spot The place really need some upgrade .
We had a bungalow with a really old noisy fan difficult to sleep.
Good for budget but still too expensive .
- Salleh (10/5): Superb Location With Great Facilities, Most Valuable and Competitive Price in Pangkor Island. - The location is premium and heavenly to those who like the super busy crowd who enjoy shopping, foodies and beach swimming, just 1-2minutes walking distance. The Teluk Nipah is the best place to stay in the Pangkor Island.
PRO:
Got 3 common areas that are spacious and surrounded with nice and beautifully crafted flower pots and gardens and 3 common loo.
Silently deaf environment at night that is the winning point here! Soundless sleeps at night.
2 types of accommodation here : backpackers and travelloggers. Your budget, your choice!
Backpackers : Tri-angular shape capsule accommodation of 10f x 6f comes with 2 sets of mattress+pillow+thrower, 1 LED lights+1wall fan and a UK standard plug point. The material is fully wood&polywood covered with zinc plank.
Travelloggers : Tri-angular shape cabin accommodation of 20f x 10f with private bathroom attached with the log. Inside the log is inaccessible by me as the whole camp was full during my stay.
The owner has language barrier but still able to communicate well in English. Kindly tolerate the ignorant attitude of the owner as it seems like most of the island people are like that, but still quite friendly and approachable if you are polite enough.
*Spoof off all the negative comments misting around the reviews earlier, they have a lovely environment here, not as what they are barking about(mostly backpackers) Your holiday is not staying inside the camp all day, you will be outside most of the time except weetime and bedtime. The slight concern during my stay was just a constructive comment and made aware for those who wish to stay here.
Cons:
Hygiene on the linens to be prioritized as it affects peoples' holiday especially bedsheets and pillowcases.
Maintenance of the accommodation should be managed regularly as some defects can be curbed easily, some effort will do.Detached plank, some water seeping issue, some ornaments arrangement need to be taken care of.
Locks and privacy issue-it is my concern for locks from inside to ensure the safely while sleeping, untight and secured on my stay, need to do cable tight during sleeping time. The backpackers area should have some boundary of sight, some curtain or some shading would be nice.
Monkeys- have a nightmare with the creature since childhood. It is not a problem for others, just my personal issues. They come and go during morning time only.
Mosquito- Since I am aware that it is natural phenomenons where there is jungle, plants, and also forest. Kindly prepare the anti-mosquito fragrance where you can find it in most supermarkets, it really do the magic.
*For most backpacking lodges that I have stayed in, this camp provides better privacy-no sharing double decker sleep together stuff, security and full facilities on utensils.
P/S : I did not put up the photo for the room and bathroom as I want you to feel the excitement of quagmire imagination and come to the camp to feel it yourself.
- Leigh (10/5): Chilled - Loved this place had a really cool vibe about it, kitchen facilities to use whenever you wanted kettle toaster etc and also a fridge in the communal area. Great location, walking distance to coral beach, room was great had a very large bed which was very comfortable and en suite. Owner was really friendly and very helpful, arranged a scooter for me for the day and even took me to the ferry when I was leaving. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for a lovely relaxing stay.
- Kujai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dury23 (9/5): Superb - Best place where stay on the island. Only locals and good food and nature
- Federik001 (7/5): Camping with small "camping tents" - Very close to one of the best beach of the island, super quiet place, and kindly owner I was alone, but for two persons could be a bit small. The bed are just small matras laying on the ground. But for the price is super good.
- Ainul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kosma (9/5): Simple but good, budget place. - Good price
Close to everything
Clean house
Kitchen and fridge availible The only missing thing is water filter. But there is a kettle instead.
- Mortimer (8/5): Very good - Location was nice a short walk to beach and cafes. The resort is a little dated, and maintenance of the grounds and facility is lacking .
- Ahmad (7/5): Good -
- Syed (10/5): Exceptional - The environment was really clean. All the facilites were located outside of the room such as water heater, fridge, swing, eating table. All good. Nothing
- Jasmiza (10/5): Exceptional - The staffs were very helpful, and the environment feels like home. The parking were easy as well. Thus place provide everything i need. But in my opinion, if youre the type of boujee, i wouldn't recommend here haha.
- Dahari (8/5): Very good -
- Noridayu (8/5): Very good -
- Carolina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alyia (3/5): Poor -
- Lucypearmain (8/5): Value for money and close to the beach - Great location at a good price. The room is basic but suits your needs. The kitchen facilities were fantastic, being able to use a fridge and cooking utensils makes it easy to save money on food. There is a washing machine, but the owner forgot to tell me you just pay 15RM to use it.
- Salmah (8/5): Very good - Good Better
- Jean (1/5): Bad - Nothing It was dirty not what was in pictures
No drinking water only 1 outside tap for drinking water to which we advised by caretaker to boil first bed in room smelly .mattress dirty and smelly we had to take first set of pillows back because they where covered in mold room was at the top of a hill up an unlit steep staircase very dangerous asked for upgrade but man declined request there was a kettle and toaster but regularly fiddled with by monkeys . We couldn't even source another hotel cause the room was none refunded able we travelled nearly 8 .000 miles to stay on this island and that place spoilt our trip and the booking site constantly saying almost full but in 14 days only 4 other guests for one or 2nights only so if possible I would like my money back
Thankyou J Bhaskaran
- Azmi (9/5): friendly owner, walking distance to busy nipah beach but its a nice quiet cosy place. -
- Hanif (3/5): Poor -
- Mirka (7/5): Good - Aircon in the room
Okay for a few nights, but really basic Not easy to socialize
Place a bit old and not in the best condition
- Roy (4/5): Disappointing - No comments Room stuffy fan not working basic not comfortable at all
- Rebecca (8/5): Great located simple Camp - Very friendly staff, big three-bed-room, best location what so ever! Only cold shower!
- Marilyn (9/5): A natural quiet comfortable place - good value for the price. - The location was very convenient yet quiet, I loved my balcony overlooking the large natural garden There was a musty smell in the room, but I think this is hard to avoid in a jungle/beach area
