Guest Reviews
- Janice (7/5): Flea infested. - We stayed for two nights, left for two nights, and returned. The first stay was ok but some of the electrical outlets did not work. Our second stay we had a room that was flea infested! We’ve been itching for days.
- Janice (1/5): Flea infestation; avoid at all cost. - It was flea infested. The air conditioner was broken. The television did not work. We have been itching for days from flea bites.
- John (10/5): Perfect - Center of town very pretty when you open bedroom door Nothing
- Manuel (10/5): -
- Richard (6/5): - When we got there, they did not take credit cards so had to pay cash.
The building is very old and run down. But it was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Located close to El Centro.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (8/5): - Buena
- Alejandro (8/5): - Todo bien
- Peter (1/5): This place should never be adveritised on Booking.com unable to upload photos - Nothing Place was a dump. Pictures were deceiving. Trash in a dry fountain. Dirty cups left for coffee. Furniture was a joke, totally broken and filthy. Could not pay by credit card because front desk man didn't have a working machine. We had to use our card at an ATM to pay in cash which cost about $15 per transaction. Wifi was extremely poor.
- Kristina (8/5): - Nice old Style. Staff was friendly. We only stayed 1night and therefore it was very nice.
- Nygren (7/5): Good - Good location. The courtyard/patio is nice. Bed and bathroom okay. Easy check in. A bit outdated, in need of some renovation. Disturbing light from outside.
No aceptan tarjetas.
- Isabel (2/5): Deceived. Nothing was as advertised. - The location. It’s great for walking everywhere. Nothing was as described. Literally nothing.
There was mould all over the walls. The taps on the basin were very loose, the cold tap didn’t work and the u-bend leaked and dripped water constantly. We had to use a bath towel to contain it.
The shower had no hot water and there was so little water flow from it that it was very difficult to wash. Sometimes there was no flow at all.
There were no laundry facilities as advertised, which was one of the main reasons we booked it. The manager did do our small load for us after we complains but charged us a lot for it.
There was no breakfast as advertised. When we also questioned this he said he’d sort something and he bought us breakfast in for two mornings. On the third morning when there were more people staying suddenly there was breakfast put on. So it’s very pot luck. Made us feel like second class citizens. Either do breakfast or don’t but don’t advertise it and then not put it on.
We always book hotels with parking as we have motorbikes but when we arrived it was street parking, not parking on premises as advertised. It was only because there was a workman there fixing the drains who managed to fix the garage door (which wouldn’t open) for us to park the bikes in there that we got them off the road and secure.
I don’t know who owns the hotel but if it’s not the manager then they are doing him a disservice. It is run down and dilapidated. Even the locals said to us that it’s a very bad hotel.
There was nothing true about any of the advertisement.
Just do yourself a favour and book anywhere else in town. It really can’t be as bad as here.
- Celine (3/5): Bad/ Mal - Nothing/ nada/ rien Bed uncomfortable wasn’t very clean staff lost no breakfast included like said no parking like said on the booking page little water value for money zero
- Marcial Trinidad (2/5): No regreso - Terrible,no había agua caliente,no aceptaron tarjeta,mucho mosco.
- Vivienne (8/5): I had a comfortable stay at this accommodation. - The room was spacious, especially for one person. Although it was stuffy and warm and the bathroom had a strong smell of chlorine when I first entered, the air conditioning worked very well to cool and ventilate the room. The hotel provided towels, soap, and toilet paper. I also received good recommendations and information about the city and transportation when I asked. There was no kitchen or utensils for cooking, which would have been nice to have, but it also says so in the description. As mentioned above, when i went in the room it was very stuffy and warm and the bathroom smelled of chlorine.
- Christian (9/5): perfect - very friendly staff & good atmosphere
- Michel (6/5): Pleasant - Good location. Very basic, okay if you don't expect much.
- Margaret (5/5): Fails to live up to expectations. - The hotel is nice and close to the Centro. It has a nice garden in the courtyard. The staff had no record of my reservation despite my having email confirmation. The room was dirty - hair on the floor. The tv didn't have a remote control. Staff didn't respond to emails or phone calls prior to my arrival. No pick up from El Chepe offered. No DVD player as was specified in advertising.
- German (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Susan (8/5): - Great breakfast and service. Definitely helps if you speak some Spanish. Our host was very patient with our butchered version!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Property is old and run down. Nobody seem to know anything about our reservation.,
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not a good place to stay. Bad service, dirty and falling down
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Muy amable gente.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Muy centrico; limpio agradable, buen ambiente, personal amable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel limpio barato y a gusto económico, personal amable
- Verified traveler (6/5): SENCILLO Y AGRADABLE - PERSONAL MUY SERVICIAL, NO ES DE LUJO PERO TODO MUY LIMPIO PARA UNA NOCHE Y DESAYUNO RICO .PERFECTO RELACION PRECIO.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Overnight to take Copper Canyon train - Staff was excellent.. do not speak English but we all speak Spanglish!,
Looked after our car while we were away on trip. Thank you!
- livier (10/5): Nice hotel - The hotel was chip and close to the everting and the personal Damian was excellent
- Lisa (10/5): Nice budget hotel in El Fuerte. - This hotel is very clean and located in a great location.
My husband and I cannot say enough about the couple who manages the hotel. I am sorry that I can't remember their names. Fore example, during our stay we went to a convenience store to buy a bag of ice (I love a lot of ice in my drinks) and when we returned the young man who managed the hotel saw us and immediately brought us a cooler for our ice. He and his wife keep the facility immaculate.
The night before we checked into the St. Cruz, we stayed at a "luxury" hotel in El Fuerte. We could not reserve another night there because they had a tour group coming in. The "luxury" hotel had fantastic grounds and beautifully decorated rooms. But there were practical issues that were not addressed much more than what we experienced at the St. Cruz. For instance, when I placed a hand towel on the rack it fell off at the "luxury" hotel. Our toilet was stopped up after one use (#1) at the "luxury" hotel. A good working toilet is a must and the St. Cruz had a great working bathroom = no issues.
- allen (2/5): Horrible. Stay Away ! - Very old and dirty hotel. No hot water. Hard beds. Terrible breakfast.
Tired and run down.
No pillows!
- cathy (2/5): Worst service ever - This was the worst hotel service we have ever had. There is NO free parking, its on the street and when asked about it, we were told that they had 3 spots and would be available later, then we were told we couldn't use them. Had to find another hotel to park our cars while we left them to ride the El Chepe train. There was no customer service at all! Would not recommend at all!
- Daniel (10/5): - the place was great, within walking distance to everything
- Movinit (8/5): Decent hotel for the price - Four of us stayed enroute to our Copper Canyon train trip and back. We were able to park our rental car for two nights in their locked garage. The Hacienda is truly an old hacienda that has been converted to a hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. The open air, partially covered, central courtyard was an enjoyable place to sit out in the evening and read or watch TV. The staff were polite and efficient. They spoke limited to no English but that was fine with a translator on each of our tablets :) We were served a traditional hot breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice patio and garden, horrible room - The central patio is beautiful, with plants and a fountain. Included breakfast was acceptable for a cheap hotel. The room was horrible and the bathroom filthy. Wouldn't stay there again.
- Arik (10/5): Nice quiet hotel - Not far from the center of town.
Quiet (gate is locked during the night).
I was happy to find a gym right in front of the hotel.
In my opinion good value for money.
- Douglas (6/5): - The staff are extremely helpful and the rooms are "as advertised." Furnishings are a tad spartan but the a/c works great which is extremely important in El Fuerte in July. Breakfast was good.
- Alan (10/5): - Wonderful people run this hotel. It is pretty basic but quite suitable for our needs.
- john (8/5): Very nice for an overnight stop - Very friendly staff.El Fuerte is a quiet town but well worth an overnight stop to or from the La Paz ferry or en route to Copper Canyon.
