Guest Reviews
- Judy (10/5): - Always use this property when coming to Canton. Reasonable price, clean, and feel very safe.
- Brenda (8/5): - The Inn is older but seemed to be well kept. The room was clean.
- Corey (2/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. But the stay was not pleasant. It needs a major make over. Bathroom sink was holding on by 2 screws, the sheets had a thousand holes, stains all over the walls, towels were hard and scrachy, outlet had no covers, and roaches. It's time to use the money from the solar panels to do a remodel.
- Rolando Jair (2/5): - The sheets are dirty and condition of the room are nasty
- Jeanie (8/5): - We stopped here after all the hotels in a neighboring city were sold out. The owners were friendly, had a large parking lot, the fridge in our room was broken (RM 121) but it was not a big deal.
- brenda (4/5): Not Good - We have stayed there many times .it was ok never great but comfortable. It has been over a yr since our ladt stay there It has gone down hill EXTREMELY BAD no soap in dispenser..floor was filthy...didnt both to change toliet paoer roll it literally had 2 sheets left on it .. just not taken care of. For 80 $ a bite stay somewhere else pay the extra money .we stay in hotels about evety weekend with our business .this is the worst run down one ive seen ( used to be decent..a little outdated but ok , not now ..)
- Christine (10/5): - Everything was fine
- Sarah (10/5): - It was nice and convienant and tge owner was so nice and sweet.
- Frank (8/5): - Our room was in need of some superficial repairs to the walls and bathroom. Only provided single ply toilet paper. Wall lights were subpar and grate on window unit A/C was broken. Quiet and accommodating on extending our stay/ Room was fine for the cost charged
- mark (8/5): - it served the purpose, I needed it for.
quiet, unassuming, short drive to food and amenities
- Catherine (10/5): Home away from home - I come here because of the quietness
And it calmness
And for peace and quite
- Catherine (10/5): Awesome - It’s always nice and quiet there when I go I love it there
My stay was for three days but had to leave a day early
- Michael (8/5): - The staff is only worried about taking your money. I have an ESA and even though my ESA is covered by the ADA, I was charged an extra $15 per night for my ESA. I would only recommend this place if you are in need of short-term housing.
- James (4/5): - The place was filthy especially the bathroom
- Angelina (8/5): - Definitely not a queen bed. Pillows and sheets were too basic. And towels were small along with only one washcloty and no hand soap. No coffee in lobby at checkout. Positives- Quiet off freeway and pet friendly!
Safe area to park !
- Linda (4/5): - The bathrooms were very dirty. Hadn't been cleaned. Floors were filthy in bathrooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Van Inn review - Hotel was old but modernized. Ac and shower worked well. Staff was friendly. Price was much cheaper than other hotels in the area. Would definitely stay again.
- RON (6/5): - If you're in for a quick sleep and get out early, it's sufficient. Something wrong with the shampoo, bugs in tub and smells like it's not cleaned properly.
But, the part that bugged us the most was, there were only 3 rooms occupied on our side of building and the owner puts us all right next to each other. Our neighbors were loud. No need for that.
- Jeannine (8/5): Nice & cost affective - My daughter & I stayed for one night.
It is an old motel, but it was very clean & comfortable.
My only complaint was there wasn't enough wash cloths for 2 people, even though it was booked for 2 guests.
If you're not looking for fancy, then it is a decent place to stay.
- Rodney (10/5): - Nice staff and, qu.ite
- Latasha (10/5): Relocation - No breakfast but friendly staff affordable
- Jerry (8/5): Comfortable no-frill hotel - Bed was very comfortable, quiet, next to Dairy Queen and close to Soulmans BBQ which was delicious. Did not like checking in through the night window during early afternoon. Hard to hear.
- Douglas (10/5): perfect - beautiful comfortable classy furniture and design. Friendly manager close to DQ!
- Cuiping (8/5): - It’s an old motel. You can tell the owner try to keep it clean and comfortable for the customers.
- Marjorie (10/5): - Very accommodating staff and efficient check in
- Valeta (10/5): - Clean& cool
- Steven (8/5): - I liked the choices of restaurants and availability of gas station nearby. The value was excellent. I was surprised by how nice the room was and equipped with a desk, ironing board, hair dryer, microwave and refrigerator. As a single person who only needed a clean bed and bathroom, I got all I wanted for much less than I needed to pay. I will definitely return.
- Sharon E (4/5): Definitely a motel not used often - This was probably one of the worst hotels I stayed in. Maybe not dirty but not kept up and towels soap super bad. Out of body soap in shower. It is 104 in Texas now and air conditioner in room was off. Had to cool it down.
- John (4/5): Would not stay here!! - Well we stayed here before and they did a remodel. But room still needs work. Broken Fire Alarm! Mold on bathroom wall. Bathroom not clean. There was no soap or shampoo. Wall near bathroom paint did not match. The office was closed and you had to talk through small window. Old washer on sidewalk.
- Neil (10/5): Don't judge a book by its cover, look inside. - Whenever I am staying overnight in the Van Zandt County area, The Van Inn is my first choice for peace and quiet, comfort and value!
- Barbara (8/5): Good value for the money. - Good value for the money. Neat and clean, quite if you are away from the highway. Have been staying there for 2-3 years.
- Guillermo (4/5): Van Inn terrible - Worst hotel ever. Cockroaches in bathroom, bathtub would not drain. Bath towels too small and not clean, stained.Check in is thru a window, no lobby. No microwave. Stay in your car. Over $100 per night. Not good!!!
- THOMAS (2/5): - You get what you pay for. It was cheap for a reason. Room was filthy. Cockroaches on the walls and floors. Coffee maker still had coffee stains all over it , NOT washed. Just needed a place to crash. Wont do this property again , rather sleep in my car, or spend a little more.
- Thomas W (4/5): Get what you pay for - Check in was challenging as the keepers did not speak english well. Had to use a phone translator.
Property was just what one would expect for the price, so on that point I have no qualms. The room did stink terribly to the point I honestly considered sleeping in my car and just using the bathroom for wash up. Yes, non smoking room.
- David (2/5): Rude - They were very rude
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was good. I would stay here again if I’m back in the area
- carrie (8/5): 2 night stay - Clean comfortable room, nice wood like floor. Bed comfy. Good location to horse park. Inn staff was nice and friendly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not having power 4 almost 10 hours and its was hot
- Mark (6/5): Would stay again minus noise - Everything was ok except they had workers there early replacing washing machine and they woke me up with sawsall noises right on other side of wall where I was sleeping
- LISA (8/5): - Decent stay during a time of crisis fulfilled what we needed
- James (10/5): - We weren’t there long, but left well rested. A good place to stay.
- brenda (6/5): good - good hotel for the price needs to be updated but .. get what you pay for .. We have stayed many times and will continue to stay Nice people... beds are comfortable .. ref mircowave .. what else do you need . Lights need bulbs in them air and heaters need to be update they work ... just an all around update would be great but ... 1-10 they are an 8
- Timothy e (2/5): Nasty Room - The room smelled like smoke. The sheets were stained. The mirror did not look clean. We could NOT stay. We got a refund and left. IT WAS NASTY.
- larry (6/5): Needs better pillows - They need better more comfortable pillows, the pillows was hard and left my neck sore
- Nancy (4/5): Not a good place to stay. - The room was clean but the towels were either dirty or stained. I tried tobiron my husband's shirt and the iron left an ironsize black burn mark like something had melted on it. It even burned a hole in tg he ironing board cover in 2 places and left a big black stain. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were too thin. Did not sleep well. Very disappointed. Oh but they did give me a $24.99 reimbursement on my $75 a night room.
- Luci (8/5): - We came to do the Canton Trade days and the Vann Inn was affordable and close to Canton. The room was cozy with plenty of room for 2. The room we were in was not dusted and bathroom was not very clean and could stand to have a wall through for spot checking. Over all, we will stay there again In the future.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - What I did like was the proximity of the Inn to the highway. Very close to good food and fuel stations. I was greeted by one of the managers who told me to wait, then another manager who spoke no english who then left to get his young daughter. I spoke with the daughter who was pleasant. I left to my room where there was cut hair throughout the bathroom, the pillow were well used and also contained hair. The "neighbor" had a pet who barked throughout the night and when it wasn't barking children were crying. I don't have a problem with crying children but I do not tolerate telling parents. The shower was unclean and the showerhead had calcium buildup and rust which made for a shower and unpressurized shower. The only reason I stayed the entire night was because I needed to nap for four hours. Long enough for this Inn. I would not recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This location is small and although older... it has been remodeled and updated. It is quiet and close to the main thoroughfare. The bed was comfortable and the sleep was good. Having a microwave and refrigerator was an added bonus but they also have room service for breakfast. Will stay here again when I am in the area.
- Tina (8/5): Good budget choice - The inn was clean & quiet, locally owned too!
No frills- but had more to offer than the typical Motel 6!
Fridge, micro, blow dryer, soaps & shampoos.
- Regina (6/5): - It waz quiet and nice
- brenda (6/5): Could stand updates all around - room was clean needs updated VERY BADLEY.... The white towels were not white im sure they were clean but maybe they should find out how to make white stay white or use dark towels and Only 1 wash cloth and hand towel .. Needs to be 2 .. we were 2 people .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean room. Good price close to restaurants, friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place and super friendly staff. Wasnt use to bed but that might be because we are not use to firm bed. But all in all good time.
- roger (10/5): - comfortable and quiet location, wifi availability was nice, restaurants close by and fuel stations close by, easy access to return to interstate
- Robert (10/5): Close to canton - Like staying here because it is close to Canton. Room is clean. Has everything we need just for an overnight stay. Also the great restaurant the Farmhouse Restaurant. The room has small refrigerator, microwave, tv, clean bathroom, plenty of linens. Good rate for weekend stay,$75 per night, plus tax.
