Tommy (8/5): Not as good as the first stay, but would go back. - As others say, breakfast is a sugar fest. No protein. We stayed on our way down and were delighted. The room we had on the way home was not as nice. Clean, but older appliances. Maybe they haven't replaced them yet. I'd ask for our first room if we went back. The microwave didn't work at all and I did make sure it was plugged in. The fridge was smaller and older.
Tommy (9/5): Very pleasant. Will stay again. - Our room was newly remodeled and pristine. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Microwave and mini fridge were a plus. A nice workout room and pool. Very unassuming exterior. Wasn’t sure we were at a hotel at first, but once we walked inside, it was awesome. The only thing that I would improve on are the breakfast items. As others have said, less sugar and more protein. I read the reviews ahead and so I was prepared. I boiled some eggs and brought them with us. Just a hack for others. Breakfast is our only dislike

The location is perfect, there are good places to eat close by, the staff is friendly & the room is comfortable The continental breakfast could be better. The coffee & orange juice is good & they have a little waffle maker & some pastries. If you want a regular hot breakfast go to one of the local restaurants.

Had all kinds of food and wrapper paper in the vents, toilet was very dirty, I brung this to front desk attention, she did not clean it. She stated house keeping would in the morning, yet no one came. You all ran out if towels and wash cloths. Lady stated they are dirty, and there was no housekeeper over night and she did not know how to use the washer.

Heard footsteps and like someone was dropping stuff on floor all night. Will definitely stay here again if needed but not at either end of floor. I couldn't figure out how to get shower head to come on.

Even though criminals can zip the security flip bar in a nanosecond, I would feel better if the door had one. The part attached to the frame was in place, but not the flip bar on the door.

Thought there would be eggs, some kind of sausage or something. However, it was still pretty good and reasonable for the price.

Katie (3/5): BUGS... WON'T BE BACK 😪 - Positives: The breakfast was fine: cereals, waffles, toasts, fruit bars.... and location was on our way to the beach.... Negatives: ROACHES/BUGS we were given a room and went up to check it and saw 3 roaches (2 dead, 1 still moving) on the bathroom counter, floor, and by the lamp by the bed.... I immediately went down and had them move us room, as it stated no refunds the day of check in. The lady at the desk was nice and understood and moved us... the other room had one small dead bug on the bed but not a roach and a dead cricket by the nigh stand... it was very disappointing and gross, as we have stayed here EVERY year on our way to Florida and never had this issue. I know it was recently taken over by other people so I am assuming that was the issue but it was disgusting and unfortunately we will have to find a different hotel on our way to the beach from now on... I seriously hope they fix the issue and hire new cleaners or clean seriously better!!! .....

Melinda D (10/5): Clean, comfortable, friendly, and unpretentious - Our stay at the Rutledge Inn was excellent. The night manager was helpful and courteous, and she assisted me efficiently. The room was very clean and comfortable. (Great hot water in the shower!) The breakfast selection was modest, but fresh. The hotel itself was very quiet when we visited, and the lobby was inviting. While the decor was dated, the pool was being renovated, and the room phone didn’t work, we had no complaints. The staff worked hard to provide a nice stay. It was friendly service and a clean, comfortable room at a fair price, and we couldn’t ask for more!

Paula the housekeeper did a wonderful job cleaning the room and the other areas apparently they're refitting the rooms and there was a lot of building materials the door near my room at first wasn't working and I had to get the front desk clerk to help me open it so I could come in and out. The pool wasn't up it was broken and the breakfast could have used some protein maybe some scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs or something and not just grits The Grits the pool being broken

Kurk (6/5): Don’t have expectations beyond getting a nights sl - An okay place to stay in a small town. Room was cleanish, however several items were broken, or in disrepair. Lamps, chair, coffee maker, etc. my biggest complaint is that it is listed as a non smoking property, however each day there was cigarette and marijuana smoke coming in from other rooms. I spoke with the front desk the first evening and was moved, which addressed the situation for the first night. When I spoke to management, they confirmed the policy of no smoking and assured that they would address the situation. However the same thing happened the next day. The property had several guests from construction sites and/or international trade from the local auto parts plant. It was rooms occupied by these individuals who violated the smoking policy. I am confident they valued the revenue created by these guests, over a two night traveling party, and chose to disregard the nonsmoking policy. Poorly done. Find a way to make everyone’s stay healthy and comfortable.
