CHM1965 (10/5): Eaglesham Burns Club annual dinner - Just a quick note to thank all the staff for a highly successful Burns dinner on the 30th of January. From support with planning, accommodating specific business needs, taking on board feedback from previous dinners, on the night running and management of staff covering bar, table and support services, the event was one of the most successful held to date. Four course dinner for over a hundred guests was served quickly, restaurant quality food with an efficiency of service that would merit a 5 star rating. Flawless service from all the team - many thanks

Fantastic staff, exceptional food, spotless rooms, and a brilliant party night. - We attended the Kilbryde Hospice Christmas Party Night on Saturday 13th December and booked five rooms, including the Honeymoon Suite, as my wife was also celebrating her 60th birthday. From the moment we checked in until we checked out on Sunday, the experience was exceptional. The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly, and couldn’t have been more helpful at any point during our stay. The party night itself was outstanding, and the food was genuinely the best Christmas party meal I’ve ever been served — and that’s saying something, as I’ve attended many over the years. The rooms were immaculate, and breakfast the following morning was excellent, with a lovely selection of fresh pastries that rounded things off perfectly. Thank you for a wonderful stay, and well done to Kilbryde Hospice for choosing such a fantastic venue to host their fundraising Christmas Party Nights.
Resort01127571944 (4/5): Nice hotel stay ruined - Nice hotel/restaurant and room was adequate for what we needed. 1 night stay when we were in Glasgow for a wedding a few weeks ago. Reason for the low rating is that we were woken on a Monday morning at approximately 7am with the noise of renovations in the room next door. The wall connecting the room was being sanded down and just generally very noisy. Totally understand the need to renovate rooms from time to time but don’t do it when the room next door is occupied, or wait until after the check out time. Not everyone wants to be up early when they are on a night away for a wedding. I had emailed the hotel with the complaint but have received no response at all, this is why I have decided to send in the poor review. Even an acknowledgment and apology would have sufficed, but to completely ignore me is poor service in my opinion. This was around 4 weeks ago so absolutely the hotel has had time to respond.
nobodytoknow (6/5): Standards have slipped quite badly - I'd previously enjoyed stays at the hotel, but on this occasion the dinner service fell well below par. The soup temperature was just acceptable, main course took a surprisingly long time to arrive and when it did showed signs of being rushed out by a kitchen which had forgotten the order. Rather insipid chips and veg which had been shown the boiling water. To compound this, the bottle of wine was plonked down on the table unopened. I didn't expect a sommelier but at least unscrewing the cap would have been a nice touch. After the dishes were cleared I was left to my own devices, no offer to look at dessert menu or asking if I wanted a coffee. As the restaurant was barely a third full it wasn't a case of the staff being rushed off their feet. The room as OK, I wasn't upgraded despite being a Platinum tier member on Best Western so got a room without a view, you get a Velux window in the sloping ceiling. Breakfast was OK, but I won't be rushing back.
sarahewitt39 (10/5): Amazing hotel and staff! - This is a stunningly beautiful old coaching Inn. The interior was all beautiful and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room I stayed in had everything I needed and the bed was super comfy (for me). Breakfast was absolutely delicious and a great choice, all freshly made to your order. Free parking on site. Would DEFINITELY stay here again, when next in the area.
357garyh (8/5): Blackpool Illuminations - The meal in the restaurant was nice but the lighting was too bright, it sucked the atmosphere right out of the place and made us want to leave quickly rather than linger for pudding and cocktails. The front bar was warm and welcoming, and felt very much like a Cheers type bar. It more than made up for the harshness of the restaurant.

All was ok until I tried to shower the morning after my overnight and the shower would not work. Reckon (looked like) it was a very new shower/en-suite that hadn't been tested or plumbed properly - bizarre!

Even though its in a village location, access from the main routes is easy. Great room and super comfy bed coupled with the quiet location and super friendly staff made it a really comfortable stay!

I am gluten intolerant so to see a separate menu with first class food being served was like a breath of fresh air . The home made fresh food really was superb. The staff are so helpful and their approach to customers makes the visit . The bed was very comfy and amenities good. It was so quiet and relaxing- despite there being a wedding on which you wouldn’t have known ! Great value too.

glasg0w_lass (10/5): Exceeded all expectations - We hosted an event for over 90 guests at the Eglinton Arms, and I can’t praise every member of the team enough, they exceeded our expectations in every single way. From the very beginning, the events planning team were a dream to work with : professional, patient, and full of great advice. Their experience really showed and they made the whole process smooth and stress free. On the night of the event, the managers were outstanding : calm, organised, and totally on top of everything, which allowed us to fully enjoy the evening without worry. Every guest was greeted with a warm, friendly welcome. The bar and waiting staff were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fresh, absolutely delicious, and judging by the empty plates, our guests clearly agreed! It was truly a wonderful evening from start to finish. I would not hesitate to recommend the Eglinton Arms to anyone planning an event, they really do go the extra mile. THANK YOU FOR HELPING TO MAKE OUR EVENT A SUCCESS.

I would highly recommend this hotel, it is an older property which I like as they have character and with that there are some things in the room that are a little tired but have no effect on comfort. My room was comfortable, nice bed and the shower was powerful. Nice little velux window which was electronically operated. I had dinner and breakfast here and both were of a good standard, staff all nice and pleasant. I'll be back!

Next morning they denied that there had been an issue with room 36. They were patronising explaining about hotels as if I would not normally be able to stay in one. Our family staying in room 8 had to ask for it to be cleaned as it was thick with dust.

We are so very pleased to have found this hotel as it simply the best! We enjoy the friendliness and support of all staff from the minute we check in to thr minute we leave! FrankD492014 (4/5): Poor Customer Service. - As regular visitors for an afternoon drink and cake our experience today was disappointing. Having decided to sit in the garden area I was surprised to have tea in a plastic cup and my lemon drizzle with cream pressed into a polystyrene box. I asked for a fork and was given a biodegradable one. When in the lounge this is always presented as a pot of tea, China cup and the cake on a China plate with piped cream and a strawberry and a proper cake fork The Duty Manager informed me that this is because I had the Picnic Menu. Our server did not explain the Picnic Menu or that the cake is not part of it.The Duty Manager needs to ensure that staff are properly trained and that customer satisfaction is important. He could not explain the rationale for this absurd rule. Why should we expect less outside than inside?

There were a couple of plumbing issues which the hotel was attempting to get sorted out, but an absence of hot water in our bathroom basin was not ideal. Had a standard bed felt small recommend have a twin or king if stay here. Kitchen times for serving food ruled no relaxing eating. Breakfast till 9.30 sharp and evening till 8.30 sharp food not great. Bus service not great had to drive into Glasgow. Hotel quite away out. Only good thing reception staff very helpful regarding getting into Glasgow and nearest petrol station. More a budget hotel but paid dear and breakfast not included!

Noel (4/5): No bedroom windows ! - Booked a Superior room and was shocked to find that it had no windows. Only natural light was from a Velux roof window. On checking out was told that only 2 or 3 rooms have normal windows all the others have a Velux in the roof. If this had been stated on their website I would only have booked if guaranteed a room with windows.

DelLancashire (10/5): A wonderful break - Just home from a 3 night stay at this hotel for our anniversary. From the warm welcome we received from Sarah and Norbert on our arrival, to the waitresses and Gavin the barman, and all the cleaners, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel, and the breakfasts and evening meals were tasty, generous and reasonably priced. The hotel beer garden area outside by the stream was perfect in the sunny weather. We were attending a concert at Glasgow Hydro on one night and the hotel is an easy drive into the city. We would happily recommend the hotel in the lovely, quiet village of Eaglesham, and would definitely stay again.
597arlenen (4/5): Terrible Afternoon Tea - Sorry to say, really disappointing afternoon tea yesterday. £30 for 2 people and there were 8 of us. I’ve eaten meals there before and expected so much better. Sandwiches had bland fillings and lacked imagination. Egg, cheese, fatty ham with gristly bits that was difficult to chew and chicken mayonnaise. No tomato, lettuce or cress or similar to make them look or taste more appealing and appear less drab. The only redeeming feature was the sausage rolls. Scones were ok but who serves afternoon tea and hands you a handful of plastic individual jam portions with about a teaspoon of jam in each of them? Selection of cakes were just cubes of generic millionaires shortbread, lemon drizzle, carrot cake and rather stodgy chocolate brownie, like you would buy at supermarket. Tea and coffee were cold although second pot was warmer. All in all really disappointing and a bit embarrassing as it was my idea to take everyone there for mums 86th birthday. We were supposed to split the bill but I couldn’t ask for anyone to contribute as they basically left much of what was on offer and really didn’t want to make a fuss and upset mum. Would never recommend or be back!!

The service was impeccable from beginning to end. (happy retirement Mark too!) The lunch top notch….The staff so good….THANK YOU for everything. Would thoroughly recommend. We’ll be back for the 101st!

Mark and his team were very attentive and helpful, the table looked lovely, the food was delicious and all the family enjoyed themselves. . All in all it was exactly as we were hoping for to make Mum's birthday so special.

Cold floors and the shower was not at all adequate. Good onsite restaurant and lovely breakfast. Staff also were great and very helpful.
alistairj930 (10/5): A Warm Comfortable Welcoming Traditional Style Hotel - A traditional spacious welcoming old style hotel. Our Room 10, while a little small, had all the comforts, including customer selectable temperature control, and modern ensuite. The public areas comprising reception, lounge bar, and restaurant, also obviously popular with the locals, are well appointed with plenty of comfortable seats and sofas. The food was well prepared, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. An ideal hotel for a chill-out break, while only 13 miles from Glasgow city centre.

The layout of the tables with the special menu featuring our wedding day photo was excellent and much admired by our family. allanwcameron (10/5): Great hotel, great staff, great value - Great hotel and ideally situated for exploring Glasgow. Stayed here 2 nights for business purposes but fully intend to return privately. Lovely building and tastefully furnished to a high standard. All the staff were brilliant, from the lovely Norbert at reception to the impeccably turned out ladies working in the bar and restaurant, and the friendly barman (gavin?) Ate in the restaurant breakfast and dinner, couldn't fault either. Clootie Dumpling was spot on (could have done with a little more of the custard) and cheesecake was lovely. Room was a little noisy in the mornings and I could hear other guests coughing and moving about, but that's just the acoustics of the building and can't be helped and isn't a criticism of the hotel just a heads up of you're a light sleeper. All in all , for the price, this hotel was brilliant.
SuziGlasgow (10/5): Excellent stay and value for money - Stayed with a friend overnight as we were looking for a quiet catch up away from busy family life! That was exactly what we got. Booked a superior twin room, which was a bit bigger than a standard room. Very clean, bed comfy, tea+coffee in room, amazing huge shower. Only thing to improve - No mirror in the room and lacking in sockets. Hotel was very quiet as there was no function on when we stayed. We booked dinner and it was fantastic and so well priced! Not anything fancy 'pub grub' type menu, but tasty. Very busy and bar had a great atmosphere. The breakfast the next morn was outstanding! EVERY staff member was friendly and helpful - esp Norbert. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel.

Paradise34703380616 (10/5): Big Thanks - We hosted our bi annual ladies lunch in aid of Macmillian Cancer Support at the Eglinton Arms, Eaglesham. Would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff for all their support before during and after the event. Constant support and assistance were provided, even though we changed so much !!! The staff were friendly, polite and very attentive to all our guests. The hotel is of a very high standard and the food was superb. Their support is much appreciated.
Sheila (10/5): A little gem . - Superb stay here as always. Very peaceful comfortable hotel, easy access into the city if required. Lovely surrounding countryside. A pretty little village . Great dining.

XStark1ll3rX (8/5): Great stay - stayed while in the area on business. check in was smooth process so quickly got to my room. Room was clear & spacious with a nice, comfy bed. However, after looking closer at the bed it was covered in black hairs, Slightly off-putting. Had dinner in the on site resturant which was very good. Service however was a bit slow, took almost 25 minutes to order our mains & another 40 minutes to receive them. Had a great nights sleep except being woke up at 6am by a knock on the door which No one was there???? breakfast in the morning was good but service again wasn't great. Asked for white toast, got brown. Asked for scrambled on toast, no toast. Asked for tea for two & got one cup out of the pot. Overall, good stay but needs a few improvements in some areas.
Christine (10/5): - Really lovely place to stay. Unfortunately the lift was not working (although being repaired as we arrived). The restaurant and food was delicious and plentiful and the staff were so helpful and very easy to interact with.
Steve (8/5): Friendly, comfortable, clean, excellent breakfast - Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Eglinton. The room was spacious enough and clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a powerful and hot shower. I had a little trouble regulating the temperature so it was warmer than I would have liked. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed breakfast and there was a good choice of hot items, including excellent poached eggs! The car park was on the small side and this caused difficulty on the Saturday evening when there was clearly a very large party taking place in the hotel. If I’m in this area in the future, I would be quite happy to stay here again.
Andrew (8/5): Nearly a perfect weekend but something was missing - The hotel was lovely, the food so good and the service was excellent but there was one thing missing that could have potentially spoilt the long weekend away......other than the mirror in the bathroom there was no other mirror in the room. This was not a problem for me but it was a different story for my wife who could not use her hairdryer or put her makeup on.....the light in the bathrrom was not good enough and there was no power socket in the bathroom. As we had unpackaged and did not want to be moved, I went out to a nearby store and bought a small dressing table mirror so not to ruin the whole stay. It worked and my wife was happier and so, therefore, so was I. This was the only black mark on what was a perfect weekend otherwise. Not sure if other rooms have the same problem as Room 19.
P (10/5): Glasgow business trip - all good, away from busy areas with great garden area, and secure off rd parking. room (17) nice and tidy/clean/modern but right above kitchen so noisy extractor and doors/Bins banging while kitchen open/serving

Lynnette (4/5): - Pros: quiet, nice linen and towels, nice housekeeping staff. Cons: room had very old dark furnishings, no windows except on the ceiling, too hot, telephone wasnt working, cleanliness not up to standard, i had to get my fiance to switch the shower on/off and even he had trouble. Would not return or recommend and I think the cost was very overpriced for the accommodation/food.

Grant (10/5): Grant & Seonie - Picked this hotel because wanted to be in good striking distance of glasgow but not in middle. Menu had a good variety and had more fish dishes than I would have expected for a seaside hotel let alone an inland 1 like this one, Presentation of food was excellent quantity and taste also excellent. and quite reasonably priced as well Room was good size and comfortable, other half felt, there wasnt enough light in correct places so that see could do make up. All in all good hotel.
Jeff (4/5): - Front desk worker appeared to have an arrogance about him. Looked down at us like he was better. Not pleasant at all.
Steve (8/5): - For the very reasonable price I was very pleasantly surprised by the high-end nature of the hotel. I'm not a huge fan of the trend for hallways and public areas painted in dark colours, and the window in my room was impossible to secure tightly shut, but overall a great stay in a lovely village.

David (10/5): Great value hotel - Nice cozy alternative to hotels like Premier Inns that add a personal touch that places like those just don't deliver at a similar price point. Really great service and staff and good food. Adding the breakfast, which is fantastic is a must. Only one small point, if guests are in rooms with velux windows, point out to them when they check in that it has an electric blind (we didn't see the switch!). Ok in winter but not so good in summer
