On site parking ,nice breakfast lovely gardens to sit in, bar great food five mins walk to town centre. Don’t hesitate to book it’s a great hotel. • Bowers (4/5): The room and bathroom were acceptable however the ants around the tea and coffee shelf made the stay - The location was ideal. The breakfast was acceptable. Unfortunately the room had an infestation of small ants around the tea and coffee shelf, I did not see them around the bed or elsewhere. I reported it to the receptionist.

Which then made you think what else hadn’t been cleaned 100%. The smoke detectors has an annoying flashing light every couple of minutes.

• Roman (5/5): - Good location I was given a very small room. One of the towels was very dirty. The receptionist was unpleasant. The bed was very small and uncomfortable. The room was clean, but the walls hadn't been painted in a while. I was tired from the long journey and all I wanted was a bath and sleep, as it was only for one night

• Michael (4/5): - This was not a great experience and represented poor value for money. The hotel seems to be a converted Masonic Lodge and has been subdivided into 'hotel rooms.' The welcome was friendly enough but the room was dingy and tired given the price. The TV did not work initially and it took the porter 10-15 mins to sort it out. The mattress was old and uncomfortable and I would have thrown the pillows out if they had been mine. Later, when I ventured into the bathroom, I found that one of the two lights flickered with a strobing effect which gave the impression of a scene from a horror movie. By leaving it on I was thankful that it eventually failed completely. During the night a number of guests came in late slamming doors culminating in some revellers arriving back clearly drunk as they proceeded to run up and down the stairs laughing whilst banging the doors. That was at 2 30am, so it was not a restful night. I could not wait to leave and would not dream of returning.
• bruce (7/5): Good comfortable hotel for a working stay - The staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent. I was in Room 36 in the Annex and the TV signal was poor at best and non existent on the night when international football was on BBC2, this needs to be improved.

• Shirley (9/5): A very good stay - Our room was a bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The car parking was excellent, once we realised it was a public car park , with a voucher for free parking. All the staff we encountered were brilliant, helpful and friendly. The taxi list was very helpful, and worked well. Breakfast was very good, the buffet system was just right It would have been good to have bar snacks before 6pm, even if just cold snacks. The bathroom could do with updating ( although very clean).

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Within walking distance of the town centre. A bit dated, with creaky floorboards in the bedroom. My bed was very creaky too, and the mattress was uncomfortable - I could feel every spring. The shower door was difficult to close. The noise from the traffic in the road outside was very noisy - even throughout the night. We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on that.

Breakfast variety was good but slightly overcooked and mushrooms tasted strange. Otherwise staff were friendly and tried to put things right. Would have expected some form of compensation without the need for asking.

Room was dated but can’t complain for the price Parking was limited when I arrived. Food was average but again cannot complain for the money which was comparative with the quality.
