This is a well run friendly place. Very comfortable, clean and well maintained rooms. Fantastic service from everyone every single time. Particular shout out to the receptionist whose name I didn’t get yesterday but was super helpful and to Lauren, Shelby, Michelle and Joshua in the restaurant all of whom are outstanding every time and do a great deal to make our stay as good as it can be in the circumstances. Nothing was too much trouble. No real dislikes. No fridge in the room with water but carafes/jugs of iced water supplied on request. No iron/ironing board in the room but supplied within a few minutes of asking. Can't complain about anything really as anything we requested was supplied immediately.

- Gail (10/5): Best short hotel break we've ever had 😁 - The hotel was wonderful. From the minute we stepped through the doors we felt welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful as were all the public areas. Food at the hotel was really good, both the breakfast and the evening meals. A special mention has to go to Michelle and Sophie who were so kind and helpful. They gave us lots of information about the local area and places worth visiting. Every staff member that we met was pleasant and cheerful. They are a real credit to the company. We will definitely visit The George again. There was nothing that we didn't like.

- Larry (4/5): Not good value - The food was pleasant, though not exceptional. Helpful reception and evening meal staff. The breakfast staff were not so on-the-ball. My wife and I don't fly, so we tend to spread our holidays across several weekends away around England and Wales. We only use Booking.com because, generally, you get what is advertised and for about the right price. We have just stayed at the George in Norwich and were, frankly, very disappointed. £135 for what was not much more than a small, dreary and quite depressing room, with a view of nothing more than a small, enclosed, courtyard. The room I'm sure was clean, but it felt grubby. Looking beyond, there was a musty smell in the hallway and an old fashioned bar - in the negative sense. The staff were generally sweet and helpful, but that surely should be a given, in these competitive times.

- Graham (7/5): Other wise apart from previous comments generally good stay. - The bistro and the bar area and the cleannesses the staff where very helpful and the position of the hotel close to buses into Norwich so we did not have to use the car once we arrived. The view from the windows of room 137 which look straight across a flat roof to windows opposite other rooms ,also from the bath room window to all the junk at the back of the hotel.

I usually have to bring coffee mate to add otherwise you end up adding too much milk and it is then cold. The charge of nearly £4.00 for a cappuccino or latte is just ridiculous when you are a paying guest and have paid for breakfast and an overnight stay.

- norman (9/5): Value for money. - Clean and functional, comfortable. Good atmosphere, good location. Friendly and hospitable staff. Had breakfast. Plenty of choice, an excellent hotel to book in Norwich. No issues.

- Adam (3/5): A disappointing stay - Central location Nothing at all like the photos implied - there was so much wrong with this stay. The flat has potential to be something nice, but it definitely did not live up to this. The counters and beds and couch were all clean, but the walls were scuffed, the bathroom sink clogged and there was quite a lot of mold and cobwebs above the shower (it had quite a high ceiling, so understandably hard to clean). When I messaged for help regarding wifi and the thermostat - (which turned off every few hours, which was tough because the flat was quite cold - the living room windows were quite loose) - I spoke to what I think was an AI agent for the first 20 minutes, as they kept repeating the same answer without really understanding what I was asking. This was solved when someone else, seemingly real, answered the message with a helpful solution, but it was a very frustrating time trying to get the flat warm after a long day of travel. And it was quite expensive for all of that. We ended up moving hotels a night early because it was not a comfortable place to be.
