- Flores (7/5): Would stay again - Very easy check in process Nothing really
- Alyssa (10/5): We will be back! - I liked the room, bed was comfy. Clean, smoke free. I didn't like being on the second floor, but that's more of a personal preference.
- Stegeman (2/5): - The room was wonderful and the bed was comfortable. The person at the office was rude and not very nice.

- Nathan (1/5): Perfect except for the people who run it - Room was clean and didn't smell. Met basic requirements and was cheap, plus free Wi-Fi and there was breakfast that we didn't eat so if not for what happened the morning of checkout all would be fine. The person who checked us in who I believe is indeed the owner failed to do most of her job at check in. She missed telling us nearly all vital information, and forgot to take information which she later had to come get from us. She at least wrote down on a sticky note the wifi password, the phone number to call (despite having no phone in the room), and that if we stayed past checkout it was ten bucks for every hour. We had a very late night and decided we'd check out one hour night. Before it was even checkout housekeeping was knocking on the door telling us to get out. I told her we were aware that we'd have to pay ten bucks extra and just wanted an hour extra of sleep and she threatened that they'd have to call the police, then called the owner. We began getting our stuff out and she informed us the owner told us we were good and they waived the fee but due to the threat we decided to leave anyways. I informed the owner that we didn't appreciate the treatment and she defended her staff, her decision, and used information she failed to tell us to do it. Long story short the owner is seemingly incompetent and allows so id recommend anywhere else but here and if you have to stay here be out an hour before checkout to protect yourself! Maybe the old management was good but the recent new manager needs more time to learn that threatening guests is a bad way to keep repeat customers.
- Elaine (8/5): - Appearance of arrival could be improved
- Karla (4/5): It was ok in a pinch - It was quiet. The sheets appeared clean. Could have cleaned better. There was hair in the bathroom. The caulk was discolored and appeared moldy. Mattress was hard as a rock.
- Kerry (9/5): - Nice place. A bit off the beaten path location wise. Not the fault of anyone there.
- Marion (7/5): -
- Lee (3/5): -
- Terri (4/5): Great staff, but a poor night's sleep - Friendly staff Thin blanket, flat pillows, uncomfortable mattress

- Randy (10/5): Very comfortable and quiet - It was clean and the people that run it are great Everything was great
- Thomas (1/5): - The location was good. Sink had no way of stopping up water. No stopper, just open drain.
- Eugenia (10/5): -
- Mónica (7/5): -
- Christy (8/5): - served my purpose, clean , quiet bit of an odd color scheme [but not important]
- Bonnie (8/5): - Could have had a better selection for breakfast.
- Christopher (8/5): - Stayed here around 20 years ago. Room has not changed much. Bed was comfortable, sheets clean, love seat and bench seat need to be replaced as the fabric is worn. Breakfast is simple. But, it works for a night to sleep.
- Randy (10/5): - Great place
- Penni (4/5): - Plenty of loud barking dogs living there. Old dilapidated motel. Neglected. Just gross. Could not sleep, in spite if being road weary. Morning came and no food or coffee. We splashed off in the sink, unwilling to use the shower.
- susanna (2/5): - The comforter was scratchy, and very nasty. The towels and wash clothes old and stained definitely would not give this place a “good”rating as Hotels.com has it for. I would say “fair” at the very, very best.
- Randy (10/5): It was great - It was clean and quiet It was all good
- Randy (10/5): -
- Melody (8/5): Comfortable, clean room. Would stay here again -
- Simone Fai (6/5): - Parcheggio gratuito La colazione si può migliorare offrendo un po' più di scelta sul cibo
- Dusty (8/5): it was enjoyable would stay there again - the location breakfast could have been better
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Christine (5/5): Would not stay here again unless nothing else was available. - It was a cheap price. A very old building. Bathroom door scraped floor. Very minimal breakfast. I just got coffee. No coffee in room. Frigde/freezer worked well. Nothing could improve this building.
- Rebecca (7/5): - The room was clean and quiet. The beds were quite comfortable. Great for a short one night stay The bathroom areas and some of the furnishings could definitely use an update.
- Larry (5/5): - Inexpensive Not as advertised
- Jamie Hogue (7/5): It’s clean. Privately owned older facility. No frills. Good for price. - Great location. If you staying in that city and trying to avoid chains. I thought the staff was pleasant. The decor is from the 70’s, but honestly… I kinda liked it. It’s great bang for your buck if you’re going no frills and traveling thru. Rooms are huge. The bed wasn’t great and the top cover wasn’t actually functional as bedding.
- Carolyn (10/5): -
- To-Ro (7/5): -
- Jillian (6/5): - Convenient. Safer than it looks. Very friendly staff. Furniture had stains and our door had a little hole in it.
- Lisa (10/5): Will stay here again if we get the chance. - This is quite the little gem that we found on booking and decided to give it a try. Quiet, comfortable, and the gentleman behind the counter was really nice as well. Bed to high.
- Juliann (10/5): Great experience! - The room was perfect for me as a disabled person. I walk but need certain assists. The room was very clean and did not have the annoying scent of room "fresheners" (which just screams mold and other issues we are trying to disguise!) There were no negatives.
- Michelle (9/5): Clean, comfortable and quiet were what we needed and we got what Thank you - We needed late check in and that was no problem. Great location, just what and where we needed. This is very minor. Some of the decor was a little dated but the linens and bedding were very clean and probably new. It appears they are updating it.
- Heidemarie (6/5): - It was stated a free grab and go breakfast and coffee in common areas. It was said 24/7 Front desk. At check in we got told breakfast is from 7am to 9 am. I went there for a coffee at 7:10am all doors were locked. I went again at 7:40 am all doors were locked and the chairs were still up on the table. My friend went to get a coffee around 8:40 it was open but no coffee or any breakfast. I call that false advertisement. Terrible service.
- Carrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- scott (10/5): - Cheap and clean. Nothing fancy. Staff seems to work hard to keep it clean.
- Bisher (9/5): Superb -
- Frans (4/5): Bleh - Location Property was run down and had to get key replaced multiple times, people drinking and smoking weed right outside my room
- Rebecca (5/5): We won’t stay here again - Beds relatively good
Room clean
Musty smell until air conditioning was on
Man at checkin was polite TV didn’t work properly-sound in and out
Chanel changing difficult
Breakfast next to non existent
2 types cereal, white bread, jelly hard (old) 1% milk. There were oranges and sunny D to drink & no coffee
- Debbie (8/5): Nice location, - What breakfast?
- Ollie (6/5): - The bathroom was TINY. The room was very dated. Needs updated from the 1980's. Also needs better locks for the door. It was adequate but just barely.
- Brandi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barlow (3/5): Would choose my room if I stay again. The one assigned was upstairs and I am disabled - Facilities were very outdated. I would not use the shower. Bed was clean and not uncomfortable
- Jacob (10/5): - Quick, efficient and friendly service, accommodations were spacious and very clean, great price. 10/10
- Jonathon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jonathon (7/5): Good -
- David (6/5): On short notice, it did just fine. - Got in late after our previous reservation in Joplin was lost somehow. Reception was pleasant and the rooms were clean. This hotel is very dated but everything works. I was a little worried about security of our vehicle but it ended up fine.
- Ruzhica (9/5): Superb - It was nice decent for the price owner is very friendly all of his family. The property was little bit old but other than that is great for a couple of days.
- John (8/5): - Nothing
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Didn't eat breakfast The big holes in parking lot
- Valerie (10/5): Good people, good price, good place. - The price, the people, the room, and the location. Leaving. :)
- Debbie (6/5): Carthage inn - Location and price Outdated and needed some safety updates to stairs and areas. I believe new management is beginning this process.
- Bryan (7/5): Good -
- Tara (7/5): Good -
- Powell (8/5): HAPPY - NICE, CURTIOUSE, VERY HELPFUL EVERY TIME WE NEEDED ANYTHING. THEY WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY BUSINESS AS WELL AS MY FAMILY AFTER ME.
- Theodore (2/5): - Never again. Room was so cold that I had to change rooms. The second one was barely better and I had to sleep fully dressed INCLUDING MY WINTER COAT.
- Gilbert (10/5): - The new owners are very polite and are always available to help you with your needs.
- Fletcher (8/5): Very good - The door wouldn't lock so you could pretty much just open the door without the card to get in
- Scott (8/5): - Cheap sleep
- Tara (7/5): Good -
- Danielle (9/5): My new go-to when traveling up to Illinois from Texas. - Although it’s not the one on the picture above, it is all first floor rooms with outside access. Huge yard for walking your pet as well as Kellogg Lake right across the street. Very peaceful and comfy beds! Love the Route 66 theme and decor. It would be great if a portion of that front yard area was fenced for a dog park.
- Adriaan (8/5): Easy stay - It was good for a one night stay. It had everything you need. I just missed a coffee station in the room. Other than that it was good.
- Walter (10/5): - It’s Great for a Historical Motel . That is why we Chose this one
- Tony (3/5): Not going there again - The outside looked nicer. Tiny bathroom, extra hard bed, AC/heater unit was banged up showing daylight right through the side. After inquiring about the beds since we paid for queens we were told that they only had queens in the whole facility but our beds where no were wide enough to be a queen. Comforters were thin sheets. The breakfast left much to be desired.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Darole and Shirley (10/5): - Very clean and nice friendly service.
- Doug (8/5): - It was a clean, older motel...a few rough edges here and there but safe, quiet, and reasonably priced...I'd stay there again..
- Miln (7/5): Good - Size of the room was good. I would have preferred to be down stairs, only because I had a heavy bag
- Jeff (7/5): Good - Office was closed when I got up so I couldn’t get breakfast Room was a little worn, but still comfy
- John (8/5): Great value! - Easy to check in and value was great. The pillows are a little lumpy and the bed could use thicker comforter.
- Goertzen (5/5): Passable -
- Marion (8/5): Good value place to stay in Carthage. - Room was clean and comfortable. Greeted with a smile. Very welcoming. Close to eating places. Nothing.
- Aaron (10/5): - Very clean and no rif raf hanging around.
- Michael L (4/5): - Room was clean, but shoddy workmanship in the bathroom. Old toilets
- Travis (1/5): Horrible Experience - Location is very convenient to almost anywhere you would need to go to shop. Front office staff made a deal over every request from towels to needing a second key. Housekeeping threatened to charge us extra because our family of 5 was going through our alloted 3 large towels 3 small towels daily. After day 2 we started to receive towels that were stained and had holes in them. They advertise a continental breakfast but only offer toast and dry cereal (as they didn't have milk 2 of the 6 days we were there) and sunny delight (that ran out on day 4). Spent $800ish for 6 nights (2 dogs and 5 ppl) and have never been more disappointed and frustrated with spending money. Never again
- Jordan (7/5): Clean, cheap and value for money! - Clean, cheap and value for money! Comfortable beds! Breakfast/coffee wasn’t great, however for the price you can’t complain!
- John (10/5): Will stay there again if the need arises. - Nice spacious room, friendly staff.
- Tom (10/5): - Room interior very clean and functional - better than most in which I've stayed. But I wish they had a Gideon's Bible. I didn't bring mine thinking I'd find them in most rooms.
- Warren (6/5): Pleasant - Badic, older motel. They are remodeling and most rooms only partially finished.
- Mikey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (6/5): Not recommended even for one night - Convenient stop for Route 66.Clean and comfortable. Breakfast almost non existent.
