Guest Reviews
- Yadira Alejandra Córdova (10/5): - Excelentes instalaciones, el trato súper amable, buena relación precio/calidad.
- July (6/5): - They over charged me and we had to wait for water multiple times the lady that was on the reception was a bit rude
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pretty large apartment with Terence and Mountain View . Cloes everything in town . Parking is limited . Kitchen is very basic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in ocean view, and city view- loved both!
- Marie (10/5): - We moved around 3 times, because that was what was available- we loved all 3 rooms but our favourite was the city view- so want to come back here next year but it’s so booked up already!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was very friendly , the hotel was clean very like the view and the swimming pool was perfect
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My girlfriend and I stayed at Bungalows las Maderas in Dec 2018. Our expectations were far exceeded by the friendliness and professionalism displayed by the owners and staff. The place was clean, secure with a stunning view of downtown Zihua. We highly recommend this establishment and look forward to the next visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I’ve stayed here a few times so I knew what to expect. The property has lots of charm, everyone that works there is very friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - La vista excelente
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The private balcony was amazing! I also appreciated the gated building and air conditioner!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a great hotel if you're independent, self-sufficient, and have good knees. You're a three minute walk to the beach (lots of stairs), a 5-10 minute walk into the center (there's a great walkway along the ocean, or you can take the road at the bottom of a short but very steep hill (where you'll also find some great restaurants)).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was fabulous!! It's rustic and older but right on the ocean. There are lots of hills and steps...so its Not for everyone but if you are active you will be fine. But the views are unreal, the beds are comfy, AC works great, good water pressure in the shower but no hot water...I don't not mind as it was +30 almost everyday. The young lady at the front desk is very accommodating and helpful. The cleaning staff are very kind. In the morning you will hear the sounds of mexico...birds, dogs, vehicles and the hustle and bustle. I actually like it....but if you want to sleep until noon maybe check out an all I inclusive in Ixtapa where there is no City. We will definitely be back and I will be recommending this amazing spot to all my Canadian friends. Gracias!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No intimacy, balcony not builded logically, all can see you
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They did not have my reservation. Although they tried to get me a room. It was not what I signed up for. I have no idea why they canceled my reservation and did not let me know. There is nothing like traveling 18 hours just to get told you dont have a room. They tried to blame me. What a joke of a management.
- Fiona (10/5): - I like the fact that they are bungalows with a full kitchen, eating and dining area, equipped with everything you need and, if not, they will provide it to the best of their ability. Great, family-owned property on top of La Madera with great views! The attention to detail in making their guests comfortable and happy is exemplary!
- Cassidy (10/5): - 150% the best hotel in Zihua. The room was perfect! and it was right around the corner from Centro for all the city needs. Less than 50 steps from the beach and was so perfectly quiet.
The staff were extremely helpful, always there to answer any questions or requests that we had. I had a great massage that was extremely well priced and had the best view of the beach without any other people waking around you.
We are never staying anywhere else !
- Patty (4/5): - Stressful and frustrating at times. N9 runn8ng water second and last day, we use water from gallon to flush toilet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable but no sea - Very nice and clean. We had all the amenities: kitchenette, big shower and w.c., nice bed. The a.c. Was not cooling enough, the room was in an adjacent building of the main hotel, facing the town, and the Internet was not working or the signal was not tracing us, which was frustrating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The toilet didn't work when we show up.
No one was in the front desk.
When you need something you need to look around to find somebody.
B
- Juan (10/5): - Was pretty good, the access to the beach is not to good, because you have to walk down a lot of stairs
- Serge (10/5): Magnifique vue!!!
- Elly (10/5): Great Spot in Zihua! - This was our second stay at a great spot right on Playa la Madera with a short walk to downtown amenities, shops and harbourfront restaurants. There are good restaurants as close as 5 minutes towards town or right on the beach. Efficiency units allow you to prep your own meals and dine on your balcony overlooking the ocean (not all rooms have the view). BBQ in the communal area allows you to grill fresh fish purchased at the harbour. Lounge by the infinity pool with an ocean view as well. Walk down the steps to the beach bar and ocean. WiFi was decent and even worked at the beach! The original rooms are not as nice as some of the newer ones, but fine none the less, and some are across the street (city view). Staff and owner are friendly and helpful. Mini market down the street has many basic supplies or 15-minute walk to the main market. You can walk or take a taxi to the bigger Playa La Ropa next door or take a water taxi to Play Las Gatos further on for variety. Many guests are repeat visitors and long-term stays from the States and Canada. Greater attention to minor maintenance items, a few more loungers by the pool and more English language TV would make it even better. We will most certainly return again.
- Darin (8/5): - Great location overlooking the beach, close to restaurants and other amenities. Great pool, nice staff. Guests are mostly long term snowbirds who return each year, very nice and happy to give suggestions.
- robert (8/5): Better than expected - we had a excellent stay mainly because the bungalow had a great view and pleasant support. You could walk to the big market for supplies and have eat any meals on balcony when you get tired of eating out. We like to walk but there is a hill for about 2 blocks that is alttle difficult. Restaruants and activities begin at the bottom. of that hill. easy access to the Malecon and center of Ziwat.. Seem reasonable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mark was very helpful My luggage was delayed and he lent me a charger for my phone
Nice kitchen setup
- Marlo and Eric (10/5): Te amo Bungalows la Madera! - We spent 5 nights in Zihua and stayed in one of the Bungalows la Madera suites. The room was spacious and comfortable, but it was the ocean view from the balcony that made our stay spectacular. We loved spending time in the late afternoon cooling off in the infinity jacuzzi, watching families play in the surf and listening to the waves, especially after long and hot days exploring the beaches of Zihua and Ixtapa. It was also nice to be within such a sort walking distance (just a single flight of stairs) to Playa la Madera and within walking distance Zihua Centro. The staff was always around, but gave us plenty of privacy and were there to help when we needed it. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Zihua and we are already talking about our next stay at Bungalows la Madera! We absolutely loved it!
As much as we loved Bungalows la Madera, it may not be for everyone. The plubming in Zihua is not the best (toilet paper can't be flushed, showers drain a bit slow, etc.). So, if you are super finicky and expect ultra luxurious and plush accomodations and ammenities, you may be happier with a hotel in Ixtapa. Also, there is a steep hill to walk up to get to the hotel, so it would not be ideal for someone with difficulties walking.
- Jack (8/5): Beach Bungalow - They have a great facility, most all of the rooms have a patio tub or hot tub that overlooks the ocean. They also have a private community infinity pool for tall of the guests to share along with two outdoor kitchens, great family and couples enviroment. The beaches are very clean, they allow for about four locals to solicit snorkel and kayak rentals and tours in exchanges for beach upkeep, ask for Roberto he's a great guy.
- brent (8/5): it was great - Great location Everything juit needs a little bit of work.... A bit more maintenance...Safe did not work... Little things need to be addressed... The location could not be better
- Kent (8/5): The view was Beautiful!! - We checked into our hotel around 3pm. The first young man was nice but didn't seem to know where we were supposed to go. Got to our room and it was nice and clean. We inquired about blankets and sheets for the small futon bed for our daughter and they ended up bring in a queen size bed for her which was wonderful!! The gal that cleaned our room everyday was very sweet and did a great job. Overall, it was a really great stay.
- Kelly (8/5): Staff was wonderful - Best spot on La Madera Beach. Stayed for 16 days. We will be back.
