• Kerry (7/5): Quite place to stay just off the main strip - Hotel is in a good location, a short walk (or tuk tuk ride) from the main strip in Ella, it’s therefore close enough to the action but also quiet. The room was modern and clean. We had a front facing room with a balcony which had lovely views of the mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to leave early one morning for one of our activities and they made us the tastiest scrambled egg sandwiches we had the entire trip plus fruit which we particularly appreciated given we had a toddler to feed. Not dislikes as such but we hadn’t realised this was a B&B and so there wasn’t really an option to eat dinner here (although the owner did kindly invite us to dinner but it was too early for us and didn’t fit our plans) this was only a mild inconvenience because we have two small children so eating onsite would have been helpful after a day out. I received a strange message from the owner a couple of days before arrival about issues with drivers/driver accommodation which made me feel alittle uncomfortable and so would encourage Hotel Ravanna to keep any disputes it’s having locally private.

• Sharon (8/5): Great views and lovely staff - This property is really well located for staying in Ella, walkable into town and not far from the sights. The staff and owner are lovely and really helpful. I really enjoyed the pancakes and tea on arrival and the breakfasts. The view from our room of Ella gap was amazing. The accommodation is done up to a very standard and the staff go out of their way to help you with things like fresh tea when you would like it. I understand people’s comments about this property that it doesn’t have a standard bar or chill area like hotels do but despite this, it’s a lovely place to be. It only has 6 rooms so it’s more like a boutique guest house. What you are paying for is the excellent service and view and the location

• Louise (10/5): - The ladies who run the hotel are so friendly and hospitable, it's a real hime away from home. Breakfast is exceptional and our hosts insisted on providing us lunch one day as well, which was delicious and very generous. The hotel is an easy walk from the centre of Ella and is quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful garden and gorgeous views. It was a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka
• Tracey (8/5): A lovely place to stay with kind host - Room had fantastic view of Ella Rock. The owner, a big personality, and staff were very helpful all working as a team. On arrival we were welcomed with a snack of pancakes with banana and tea which was appreciated. There is a short walk into Ella, with no pavement and no lighting (but this is standard in most of Sri Lanka) and not unusual. Pack a torch or use your phone torch.

Unterkunft erreicht man über einige Treppen, für uns aber völlig in Ordnung.

Heerlijke kamer, geweldig uitgebreid ontbijt en op loopafstand van het gezellige Ella. De vriendelijke dames wilden graag een keer ‘a avonds voor ons koken. Dit was geweldig. Hier wil je verblijven als je Ella en omgeving wilt verkennen!

Overall it is a small hotel only 6 rooms with calm and familiar atmosphere. Great location A bit pricey for the facilities they offer.
• Ilana (7/5): - We stayed at Ravana Heights for two nights and appreciated the friendly chats with the owner, the lovely ladies who worked there, and the walkability to/from the town and train station. Our room was very large, clean, and had a nice view. Ravana Heights was our most expensive hotel during our two-week Sri Lanka holiday, and considering the higher price we expected a bit more from the property. For example, we had issues with wifi and thought the towels felt old and scratchy. It's the sort of place where you either hang out in your room or leave the property; the common areas were not the most welcoming. At a lower price point we would've been satisfied, but we had hoped for more.

• Nicola (7/5): A comfortable hotel with wonderful staff but unfortunately it is very overpriced. - The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were offered a pancake and tea when we arrived, which was lovely. The room was comfortable and had a fantastic view. We liked the fact that Ella was just a short walk away. We thought it was completely overpriced. Access with heavy bags is bot easy as there are quite a few steps up to it.

Vi blev dessutom bjudna på hemlagad mat en kväll- fantastiskt gott! Eftermiddagste/kaffe med kaka erbjöds och personalen var så rara. Fin utsikt över Ella Peak. Lagom nära in till Ella (5 min att gå). Lite trafikstört, "stora" vägen går alldeles nedanför. Ta med pann/ficklampa så man ser och syns när man går hem på kvällarna.

• Debbie (10/5): Great location, very clean, comfortable and wonderful staff. - The accommodation is a small family run business and it shows in the warmth and friendliness of both the owner and staff. They were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure our stay was fantastic. From cleanliness, great location, delicious breakfasts and the thoughtfulness of making us smoothies after a day out, everything was taken care off. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The beds were very comfortable and the two/three ladies running the place were excellent Booking.com suggests the place is a 3 star, however, it is rated as a 1 star, but very clean and the cost of our stay was not worth the money. Ella is a vibrant and lively town with lots of tourists, both young and old, however, the prices for everything is inflated for tourists, including Tuk Tuk fares, which compared to Kandy and Colombo were super inflated. Was never inclined to tip either as I hate being ripped off.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the complimentary dinner they provided on our third day was was exceptional as well as the tea and pancake on arrival. We really enjoyed our stay here. Minor cleaning issues, but nothing serious (and better than most places we have stayed at in Sri Lanka)

The service in this hotel is outstanding, the ladies take care of every need. Especially Washanti is the sweetest woman ever and makes that the stay is exceptional. Thank you for all good cares, beyond any expectations. The location is also good, its not as busy as the centre of Ella but with 5 minutes walking you’re there. In order to get to the hotel you need to walk a few steps up but nothing that one in average health cannot do. Nothing

We were cooked a complimentary Thai chicken curry one evening and the breakfasts were superb with banana pancakes. We loved the stylish decor with scandi meeting Sri Lankan classical rattan and all was so well cared for and of great quality. We had a lovely private balcony with stylish wooden chairs and a great view over the garden terrace to Ella Rock. The hotel is small and very quiet only a short walk up the main rd into town. Coffee could have been improved but this is an issue throughout Sri Lanka.

• Lydia (10/5): Однозначно рекомендую, great vibes) - Шикарное месторасположение с видом на Элла Рок, поэтому тут достаточно тихо, но в то же время в пяти минутах ходьбы от улицы с ресторанами и магазинами. Вид с балкончика такой, что можно просто сидеть и наслаждаться) Номер достаточно просторный с высокими потолками, кровать удобная, матрас отличный. Есть пледы на прохладную погоду. Хорошая ванная комната, полотенца меняют ежедневно, сантехника grohe) Вкусные завтраки! Очень приятный хозяин, ему нравится Россия, свободно владеет английским! Помогли мне, когда я приболела, так же вызвали такси для следующего места отдыха! Наш номер был первый к зоне ресепшена, поэтому с утра слышны все рабочие передвижения и разговоры, было бы круто поставить вторую дверь, чтобы это было уменьшить! Мало косметических средств за такую стоимость, только одного вида жидкость в двойном диспенсере и то непонятно какая, видимо гель для душа, и кусковое мыло. Нет ни шампуней, ни кондиционеров, ни зубного набора. Это расстроило.

A MUST stay. - To start with, the view was truly unbelievable, and then surprised to be upgraded to a Suite that had an even better view at no extra cost. The breakfast was typical Sri Lankan, and the fruit platter absolutely sumptuous. It was the first time we experienced all female staff at a Hotel and what a marvellous experience. The ladies were absolutely fabulous. As an added bonus, they even served us dinner at no extra cost which was not a part of the booking. A special THANK YOU to 2 of the ladies (Vasanthi and Sumana) who saw to our every need. We will always remember the Owner/Manager who was charming, informative and interesting. Highly recommend a stay here. There was nothing to dislike about this property.

The room was very comfortable and clean. We loved the breakfast that was included. Ella was a bit cooler when we visited and the beds only had sheets. Sabe bem estar sentado a saborear o momento, quer num lanche durante a tarde com panquecas e chá ou num pequeno almoço delicioso logo pela manhã! O dono do hotel adora uma boa conversa. É culto e desafiador! Super atenciosos com a alimentação. À chegada ofereceram panquecas e chá! O pequeno almoço é trazido à mesa. Sempre com muita simpatia, cuidado e delicadeza. O pequeno almoço é abundante e rico. Não dá para deixar ficar nada por comer! Tudo delicioso e fresco! Um pouco de odor estranho no quarto à chegada, mas dá para habituar!

• Marlene (10/5): Ruheoase mit Garten, Bergpanorama & perfekter Anbindung - Sehr gastfreundliches, familiäres Hotel mit extrem bemühtem Besitzer und Mitarbeiterinnen. Die Zimmer sind hochwertig eingerichtet, sehr sauber und komfortabel – wir hatten sogar zwei Badezimmer. Bequeme Betten, Klimaanlage und ein leckeres Frühstück sorgen für absoluten Wohlfühlfaktor. Besonders toll: Wir wurden zum sehr leckeren Mittagessen eingeladen. Das Hotel liegt in einer kleinen Ruhe-Oase mit gepflegtem Garten und traumhaftem Bergblick – trotzdem erreicht man zu Fuß schnell die Hauptstraße mit vielen Cafés und Restaurants, die neue Bogenbrücke sowie den Bahnhof mit Zügen Richtung Kandy. Ein Hotel ideal für Familien und Pärchen! Danke für die schöne Zeit. Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln.

• John (9/5): I will be back in Sr Lanka next year and will defitely stay here again - The Sri Lankan ladies really looked after me with tasty breakfast, pots of tea and coffee. Just a short walk into Ella township. Highly recommended.

All the staffs very cordial and friendly. -We loved the breakfast and overall service. -The location is great both in terms of views and convenience. -Carrying luggage from the parking is quite difficult but the staffs do help you out.
• Chameli (9/5): Majestic View from this Hotel! - Staff were incredibly nice, and they served us nice dinner for free. Facilities were good. View from hotel is majestic! Price for room a little expensive. Comparing to other hotels we've stayed we felt this is £90 per night room not $265

• John (10/5): Amazing homestay with incredible staff - This place is NOT a 1-star hotel, it’s more of a 4 star hotel with 5 star service. The caretaker ladies are the sweetest and are wonderful cooks! We spent 4 beautiful days here and had an amazing time. Clean and comfortable beds, hot water, good wifi. The owner is very talkative and well spoken, and the ladies are up at the crack of dawn to serve delicious pancakes and if you ask nicely, dinner and lunch as well. Just outside of town where it’s quieter, and compared to others, not that steep of a walk to town. Great views of Ella Rock. Must stay! Thanks again.

• Sara (9/5): Kind and helpful staff made for a great stay - Great stay, close to Ella’s center. The owner and the whole staff were extremely kind and helpful. Felt at home!
• Claire (2/5): Rude hotel owner spoiled the stay - The location was good. The ladies who worked in the hotel were nice. The location is good, it’s a short walk to the town centre although for solo travelers maybe not great for walking back on an evening alone. Checking in was fine advised to pay cash as extra charges for using cards. The hotel owner was rude. There was a mouse in the hotel room On the 2nd evening. We saw it crawl up the curtain and then back down. This was after trying to workout what had been making a noise earlier in the evening. The ladies who worked in the hotel came to try and help. The owner however was infuriating. Continued to tell me “your version of what you saw”, tried to tell me it was gecko, told me the room was concrete and a mouse couldn’t get in. I wasn’t mad to start with however the hotel worker put him on the phone to me and twice, I had given the phone back and told them I didn’t want to speak to him anymore. He was making it out like I was lying continuously on the phone, told me he would give me breakfast in the morning (I was on a bed and breakfast rate already), At the point he said listen lady I had to just cut him off. He really put a downer on the stay for me. I would say the rooms do look older and more dated than the photos too.
• Z (8/5): Perfect option to stay in Ella - The room was very clean with beautiful view of the mountain. The staff was very welcoming. Great location with walking distance to downtown I always prefer white sheets beds, but the sheets were clean

• A (10/5): Felt like a piece of home - They were so nice specially the owner greeted us and he is an interesting hospitable person. After hearing from us that we are fasting he told her stuff to make us some thai food in the evening and also made us sandwich to eat at late night. The stuffs are mostly female and they work diligently to meet your every need. Great view and specially wonderful garden
• Aman (10/5): Amazing views - The ladies running this place were lovely and very kind, they were always smiling and ready to help. Breakfast was simple but delicious and the town centre was 5mins drive from the hotel. Room was quite, clean and comfortable with amazing views
• Stephen (10/5): I recommend RAVANA Heights to anyone wanting a nice quiet accomodation, close to everything in Ella at what I believe to - RAVANA Heights is perfectly located a 2 min walk into the town of Ella. Our newly renovated family room was large with two big queen size beds that easily accommodated a family of four with teenagers. The bathroom was very big with a great sized shower. We had a very nice view of the mountains and it was great to see the clouds/mist come in every late afternoon from the balcony. The owner and staff were amazing and super helpful with everything, we used a recommended tour guide/tuk tuk driver who took us all over Ella. We really enjoyed our stay. Everthing was amazing
• Karanbir (9/5): Definitely recommend and would happily come back! - The staff at the property were so lovely and accommodating, the room itself was spacious and clean with a lovely view of Ella rock. Also really conveniently located, a short walk from the centre of Ella and all restaurants.
• Maria (10/5): A welcoming stay with a wonderful view - We had a wonderful stay at Ravana Heights. Nothing was too much trouble for Sendahi, Wasnttni and Sumana. The ladies helped us up the steps with our luggage and gave us fresh pancakes. In the evening Wasanthi and Sumana cooked us a delicious Thai meal. Sendahi was very good at explaining the area and suggesting things to do. We were very happy with our accommodation which had a fabulous view of the Ella Rock. We had a family room which was roomy and comfortable. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality.
• Arjun (10/5): Peaceful, elegant and homely stay - When reviewing this hotel on Booking.com, I had seen a few sub-par comments about Ravana Heights. However, from the moment we checked in, the hotel staff were friendly, loving and really made us feel at home in Ella. As a boutique hotel, the hotel staff offered to cook us dinner even though we had breakfast only, took care of us and gave good recommendations when we were looking for places to go and the rooms were very clean and had a great modern look. The breakfast was made with a motherly love. The views were stunning from where we stayed and overall, we absolutely loved staying here and we would stay again. Nothing really
