Guest Reviews
- Martial (8/5): - Nice cat, but cold water.
All together, fair price for a good localization. And very nice staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bright room
- Christopher (8/5): Perfectly fine - Perfectly fine hotel. Its not luxurious or anything fancy but you get what you pay for. We had no issues really. Staff was super friendly and nice to talk with. Beds were nice, location was superb and everything worked. There was some things that lacked quality wise, but again we didn't expect a 5 star hotel. We just needed a place to sleep, prepare and while not being to far away from the centre. For this trip the Hotel was superb
- Elaine (10/5): - The location was easy to find on line 2 of the metro and there was food very close. The only problem is that you MUST get a taxi when you have your luggage with you as the pickpockets on the metro are very skilled when you are distracted (as I found out the hard way). This is NOT a problem with the hotel, just with thieves.
- Micah (10/5): AMAZING!!! Highly recommend - Absolutely amazing hotel for the price; would pay above and beyond what they offer a room for. Rooms were super clean and tidy; they were cleaned everyday as well!! Staff are so helpful and friendly, they give you maps of the city and the metro lines. They also let us keep our luggage in the downstairs room even after checking out. Location is absolutely stunning... 2 min walk away from two metro lines and 5 min walk away from the Basilica Sacre Coeur. Supermarket wasn’t even a minute walk away from the hotel. Super lively area even at night but the hotel is slightly hidden so it is still quiet. Very safe neighbourhood with very friendly people everywhere. Souvenir shops around the area are cheaper than others we have visited. Would definitely recommend and I will stay here again!!
- SOUAID (2/5): Avoid - Small room, small elevator that for for one person without luggage, old furniture, small toilet.
I won't recommend this hotel.
- Annie (4/5): No hot water in the shower! - I arrived to a lovely woman at the reception desk and I feel bad for writing a bad review because she was the only person there who seemed nice.
However, when I went upstairs to find my room, there was dirty laundry all over the hallway floor and the cleaners were loud and shouting at each other. I had to ask them to pick up some of the dirty sheets just so I can get through to my room with my 2 suitcases, otherwise it seemed like they couldn’t care less and they were somehow expecting me to just teleport myself to the room (?)
The cleaners were literally shouting (or maybe that is their way of chatting) outside my room for about an hour after I checked in.
The biggest dissapointment: THE SHARED SHOWER DIDN’T HAVE A HOT/WARM WATER. So I didn’t have a chance to have a shower.
The bed was uncomfortable, I woke up with a back pain because of it.
I paid £99 (over a €100) for a night and even though the price must be this high due to a huge demand on this particular day, I still feel like it is way too much for an experience like this. I would pay £30 for this kind of room.
And please fix the hot water in the shower!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Greit hotell men sentral !!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Une horreur - Un enfer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room, quiet, loved location, close to metro and bus!
- tm (2/5): - Staff ok.but very narrow step no any freezer .not change bed sheets, the breakfast is the same evermorning bread and coffee.but location is near city centre train 3mint walk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convince - I think that is their family businesses. All the the staffs are nice. They detail tell me how to go the the place I am going to visit and give me suggestions. Their is a cute little elevator you must try it.
- Keith (10/5): Wonderful place to stay on the edge of Montmartre. - Helpful staff, always available. Quiet room that stayed cool even in the hot Parisian summer.
- Derek (6/5): - Very basic, bed was clean, good position if you like a lively area. Hotel is basic, you get what you pay for. You’ll get a better breakfast out.
- sass (6/5): location, location, location - Literally a minute from Pigallle Metro station. In the heart of Montmartre, alive with bars, cabarets and shops. Everything about this hotel is small, so remember that when packing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Their giant Shitzu is often their to great you in the tiny lobby. Rooms are cramped and require some updating.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff was excellent (Orbitz was not). They had not received communication from Orbitz about a change in the reservation, although I had an email from Orbitz telling me so. Nevertheless, they made accommodations for me and my friends. They were very nice.
Really, the ONLY thing bad was that the showers were with cold water. We never had hot water, regardless of when we showered. The water pressure was very low, but even that would be tolerable with warm water. Solely based on that, I would not stay therecagain, nor can I recommend this hotel.
- Mary (8/5): - Great location. Great staff. The room was very clean and cozy. My only disapointment was the shower. The shower was clogged for a few days but they fixed it at the end.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Mixed - Rough area, old discarded furniture in the street. Had not checked that Pgalle is red light district. However, this was not a problem as I did not see anything untoward. Staff were friendly and helpful.
In reality, there was no shower. First days no hot water, then flooding. Sink in room can be used for washing. The place was clean, breakfast was fine. Got a deal but would never have paid 80 euros for a single room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location was perfect, hotel was cozy but comfortable
- Kathryn (6/5): Nice hotel with elevator, close to metro - Great location, very close to metro and bus stop, also near hop on hop off bus stop.
- Robyn (8/5): Great location - excellent staff ! - Very enjoyable stay - very clean and centrally located hotel with very hospitable staff
Hot water supply for showers a little unreliable and could be improved but not a deal breaker !!
- Niamh (10/5): A Quiet Haven in Bustling Pigalle - Hotel Andre Gill is a beautiful, quintessentially old style French hotel with traditional interiors. The room I stayed in was compact with shared facilities which worked out very well. The hotel's situation is idyllic; a minutes walk away from Montmartre, the Sacrecoeur and the bright lights of Pigalle, yet tucked away in a lovely courtyard-cul-de-sac. Best of all, Andre Gill is run by the very kind and welcoming owner and her son, making for a lovely sojourn.
- Charlene (4/5): Tiny Cramped, No Bathroom in Room - The room was tiny and cramped. The elevator could barely hold my suitcase and myself, it was was like standing in a tiny coffin.
There was no bathroom in the room, and that was not stated on the site. So each time I needed to use the rest room I had to dress, lock my door and go find the communal bathroom. At least the lady at the front desk was nice enough to change my room to the same floor as the bathrooms were on. The bathrooms are on the first floor and I was originally booked on the third floor. Lol
There are no safes in the room but you must leave your key at the receptionist before you leave the hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. The hotel does not accept credit cards, but they charge for everything - $8 Euros to call the shuttle to the airport, $10 euros to get into the room an hour early, dint forget that the money you pay doesn't include hotel taxes, etc
Never-the-less, the staff was nice. (They dint really know Paris though, so you may get lost as I did by following their directions, Lol)
