Guest Reviews
- Amr (10/5): Nothing - Great place with great location Everything
- Herbert (9/5): Einfach fantastisch!! - Aussicht, viele Möglichkeiten zum Relaxen sowie die wunderschöne Umgebung!! Das das Camp bereits im Masai Mara Park liegt! Zum Teil waren gewisse Gäste zu auffällig bzw. zu laut!
- Sayan (10/5): -
- Dan (8/5): Great! But beware new fees - Amazing place, can lay in bed at night listening to the lions hippos and hyena. We were given one of the luxury tents which were great, but the only downside is there was construction taking place around as they upgraded the surrounding tents (Feb 25) these will all be ready by the high season. We downgraded to the more simple tents which enabled us to hear the surrounding wildlife (there was a generator that was on until 11pm which masked the sound). The food was really good and service from the staff excellent. We were on a self drive and hired a ranger the first day, he wasn’t the best. The following day we booked a hand drive with the hotel and our guide Damsun was amazing, we saw leopards lions and all the other game. I would highly recommend this place!! BEWARE Narok county have issued a rule that each person must pay $60 per night compulsory. This was not mention anywhere on booking.com so quite a shock that the 2 of us had to pay an additional $360 for the 3 night stay, this is in addition to the $100 park entry fee ($200 in high season). The Mara triangle is also a $100 entry fee ($200 HS) we saw much much game in Mara Triangle
- Valeria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patel (9/5): Enjoyed my stay - Location, the tents well organised and the facilities good. The walk to the tent and location was not really facing the river as advertised.
- Arthur (10/5): Great lodge - Love this camp. Right in the heart of Mara reserve. View of river is lovely. Not all rooms have view but lodge view is top. Hippos and crocodiles in river. Great sounds at night. Lovely location for exploring Mara. Staff was amazing. Great food and so nice. Hope I return one day
- Hitesh (9/5): Superb -
- Niloofar (8/5): It would be much better experience if our room had a river view - The camp is in the heart of Masai Mara, stepping outside the camp one can see animals and inside in the common area we could see hippos, and crocodiles in the river. Food was good and tasty and the staff like all the Kenyans we met were kind, happy and helpful. They should offer different categories of rooms depending on the river view. The ones who like better view pay more. It was very disappointing that we paid the same price and our view was to the bushes!
Communication with the camp on booking.com was hard. I had to remind them or even call them to get answers specifically about the pick ups.
This is not their fault as near the river areas sometimes smell bad, I suggest bringing your favorite aromatic thing. Palo Santo, or air freshener.
- Catherine (10/5): an amazing 4 days , with family enjoying a location that is straight out of a David Attenborough documentary 😍 - everything it’s absolutely beautiful, the hotel , location, staff are amazing, super friendly and nothing is a bother. we arrived late day one (our own fault) and on leaving they had a packed lunch ready for us to take as they said we had missed one of our lunches! if your looking for a authentic stay inside the Masai Mara park with the most fantastic setting wrapped around you then 100% recommend the Ashnil. we were a family of 5 - all adults and everyone adored it. lovely big swimming pool with sun lounge area .. absolutely nothing, it really is 100%
- Anuja (10/5): Excellent resort - Amazing location - could see hippos and crocodile from our rooms
Friendly staff
Very tasty food and lots of range - was different every day
In adddion I enjoyed massage and the pool
Was Cost effective
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Far from the crowded flea bag hotels, this property is pristine and right in the heart of the Masai Mara. You will not find a place more suited to your dream safari than Ashnil. Get the game drive package, you will not regret it.
- Martyn (8/5): Ashnil Mara Camp Review - The hotel was very good , and staff were excellent , although food choice and quality was very average , for this level of hotel
- Linda (10/5): - Outstanding staff, clean property in a great location!
- Murielle (8/5): - heel lekkere keuken, maar de game drives te duur en niet zo goed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ashnil has great facilities, delicious food, and VERY comfy accommodations. Their staff is very attentive and take great care of you. One of the aspects that I feel are especially important is the location of the camp. It is situated on the banks of the Mara River and right in the middle of the Masai Mara Reserve. Some of the other "camps" are located closer to the entrances and therefore a longer drive to be in the heart of game drive country is necessary. This is my second time to stay here. I highly recommend it.
- catrine (10/5): Luxuary visit to Mara - Really nice luxury tent-accommodation. Amazing food, wide variety of vegetarian items, friendly and attentive staff and great location overlooking the river
- Dani (10/5): - Super Lage direkt am Mara Fluss mit toller Aussicht Terrasse. Tolles Küchen und Serviceteam.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Busy average hotel with fence around in a national - Staff is good but setting, accomodation and food is average
- john (10/5): Great place - Went for a 50th birthday as they had never been on a safari before. Could not fault anything. Seen many, many animals except a Leopard or Rhino. However there was a Rhino at the airstrip which finished the trip off nicely.
- Ana (10/5): First class! - From the moment we checked in, until the moment we left, all the staff were first class. Outstanding service, location, cleanliness of the rooms and camp.
- Denise (10/5): What a fabulous place! - I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The staff were so friendly, accommodating and wonderful! Not only were we there on our honeymoon, but we also had a group of 10 in our party.
Ashnil Mara Tented Camp is one of the best places we were at during our trip to Kenya.
I cannot say enough good things about this place.
The staff are amazing, the food is wonderful, the rooms are fantastic, the wildlife is great, the location is stunning!
