• Nigel (10/5): Fantastic and easy walk into Ambleside. - The overall stay was amazing. Breakfast choice was excellent, and presented really well. The cottage had a lovely feel and atmosphere, and a really lovely lounge to use if you wanted to. The room was light and airy, and all tea coffee etc was available in the room, along with fresh milk. Also provided were shampoo and body wash.

• Elizabeth (10/5): A most comfortable and welcoming stay, highly recommended - Amanda was attentive and welcoming, truly hospitable. The breakfasts were superb - fresh, healthy and delicious. We appreciated Amanda’s knowledge and enthusiasm of the area to direct us in scenic walks and picturesque, quiet picnic spots around the lakes. Overall a wonderful experience. Note that the stairs to the top level can feel steep but we are in our 70’s and had no difficulty. Large cases would be tricky.

Great views over the fells from our bedroom which also had a veranda. Large bathroom with great selection of toiletries. Lovely dining room and guest lounge. Delicious breakfast, beautifully cooked with great selection of fresh ingredients. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Haven Cottage itself is a beautiful B&B with welcoming hosts, stunning rooms and an exceptional breakfast.

Pillows were very poor, they did let down the comfort of the stay. Too flat and unsupportive. We do understand that's personal preference though so difficult to meet everyone's expectations

From the friendly welcome from Amanda to the wonderful breakfasts each morning, this was a very relaxing break, despite the rainy weather. • Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - A perfect stay!! Took my mum here for her 60th birthday and we both absolutely loved it! The suite was so beautiful, immaculately clean, beds were super comfy. Breakfast each morning was so tasty with a generous selection. Amanda was such a lovely host and made us feel so welcome. Also only a few minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside. The gorgeous doggos that live there and came to say hello in the courtyard were a bonus! :) Nothing.

• Dorothy (9/5): comfy and spacious BnB right in the centre of Ambleside - fabulous breakfast. useful to have parking included. Our room was spacious, with a balcony which we used at night to sit under the stars. only a couple of minutes walk into town centre. Close to start of walking routes e.g. Fairfield Horseshoe. knowledgeable and friendly owners. There was nothing we didn't like. FYI, breakfast times were staggered so all guests didn't come down at once, but it didn't affect us negatively at all... Just one to watch in case you were really keen to eat at a very specific time... but then i think if that were the case they may well accommodate you anyway?!
