- Nigel (10/5): Fantastic and easy walk into Ambleside. - The overall stay was amazing. Breakfast choice was excellent, and presented really well. The cottage had a lovely feel and atmosphere, and a really lovely lounge to use if you wanted to. The room was light and airy, and all tea coffee etc was available in the room, along with fresh milk. Also provided were shampoo and body wash.

We appreciated Amanda’s knowledge and enthusiasm of the area to direct us in scenic walks and picturesque, quiet picnic spots around the lakes.
Overall a wonderful experience. Note that the stairs to the top level can feel steep but we are in our 70’s and had no difficulty. Large cases would be tricky.

Breakfast each morning was so tasty with a generous selection. Amanda was such a lovely host and made us feel so welcome. Also only a few minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside. The gorgeous doggos that live there and came to say hello in the courtyard were a bonus! :) Nothing.

Our room was spacious, with a balcony which we used at night to sit under the stars. only a couple of minutes walk into town centre. Close to start of walking routes e.g. Fairfield Horseshoe. knowledgeable and friendly owners. There was nothing we didn't like.
FYI, breakfast times were staggered so all guests didn't come down at once, but it didn't affect us negatively at all... Just one to watch in case you were really keen to eat at a very specific time... but then i think if that were the case they may well accommodate you anyway?!
