Guest Reviews
- Raymond (10/5): - Very clean and management was always helpful.
- Rob (8/5): - Great value basic but quality place to stay in the centre of town. Very handy to walk to bars and restaurants, and close to old port for beach buses. Amazing AC, fridge, wet room bathroom but patchy WiFi.
- kahdijah (10/5): - The hotel was conveniently located central to everything! Giannis is a true asset to the hotel! He was very kind and a great host!
- Arlene (10/5): - Great location! In the center of everything and walking distance to the mills where you get to see a beautiful sunset. Also close to the buses that take you to other parts of the island. Staff were nice and room was a good size for a solo traveler.
- Boglarka (6/5): - I didn't like how shower is in washroom in the open
- Jennifer (10/5): - Front desk is open 24 hours and are super helpful. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. The location is amazing if you want to stay right in town, all shops or restaurants are right out the street. They have a beautifal restaurant garden behide the hotel that offers shade, a nice place to sit
- Tijana (8/5): - Great location, excelent service and very pleasant staff.
- Artin (10/5): - It’s the best
- Yogesh (10/5): - Perfect location right in the Town. Walking distance from all major spots.
- Ryan (8/5): Awesome location, room, and staff! Bathroom was eh - This hotel also has a fantastic location and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Our room was actually more spacious than most we saw on the island, which was a big plus. Only downside was the shower—it tended to leak all over the bathroom floor. Other than that, we had a great stay.
- Dave (10/5): Would revisit - We were only there a few hours, but the concierge was friendly and welcoming and the room was comfy.
- Aaron (10/5): - good stay
- Roshni (10/5): - great
- Scott (8/5): - Beautiful hotel off on its own lane off the main street makes it quiet and cozy and includes with a wonderful outdoor garden cafe connected in the back.
- Nizar (10/5): Heaven in Mykonos - The hotel , staff and location was amazing
The room amazing really loved it
- John (10/5): - Not overly priced for the area.
- Keara (8/5): - Went in the off season so not a lot was open but even still it was a very convenient spot, with everything within walking distance. Staff were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Enjoyed our stay!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Amazing little gem in the heart of Mykonos Town. Highly recommend
- Samantha (10/5): - This is the perfect hotel to stay in when visiting Mykonos. The location does not get better than this with all the shops and restaurants around it. The bus stop is in walking distance as well. The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful and accommodating.
- Lucia (10/5): - Great location
Friendly staff
bed was comfortable
- Louis (8/5): - Beautiful from the outside, rooms were basic , walls very thin . Location was absolutely superb . If the room were spruced up a bit , a kettle or coffee machine something.
- Archana (6/5): - .
- Diane (8/5): - Location was great rooms were clean
- Martin (8/5): - Hotel muy bien ubicado y cómodo. Nada para quejarme.
- Cesar (10/5): - Great location in the center of everything. Nice and clean bedroom, very comfy beds and pillows.
- Chokkar (10/5): - Safe. Right in the middle of everything. Spacious. Clean. Friendly staff
- Belkys (10/5): - Location was great at the girl on reception was super helpful and explained in detail and very clearly
how to get to places we needed to go each day…I wish every receptionist was like this …
Also a very clean room
- Susan (4/5): Not going back - Location of the hotel is fine. The hospitality was okay but the cleaning lady did not knock and opened our door when we have not checked out nor time to check out. The place is not clean. I don’t feel like using their towels and end up not showering on a hot day. Thank goodness it was only one night. The checkin process was simple and the guy was nice.
- radhika (6/5): - The hotel is nice but it’s in the worst part of Athens. Not safe at all
- Alexander (6/5): - Didn’t like the shower, everything else was splendid!
- Anup (6/5): - Good property and staff are friendly. I think it was a good property I would work on improving the shower situation. However location and convenience very nice area of Mykonos was without a doubt worth the price.
- lee (10/5): - Hotel was exactly as expected. Perfectly comfortable, and great value given it's location.
- Gabriel (10/5): - Great location, clean modern hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, center of Mykonos town. Slightly hard to find, entry off a side street.
Staff very helpful. Room was nice, modern style. Only concern was open shower in toilet room, have to was on knees to keep half of room dry!
Otherwise a good value.
- Marites (10/5): - The staff and location
- PATRICIA (10/5): Excellent - Stayed one night given a room upgrade, clean, helpful, courteous staff offered a shower before late flight and stored our baggage
- Christopher (10/5): - Great location, great staff. Perfect if you want to be close to the action. Highly recommend.
- Marilyn (10/5): - Enjoying wonderful experience and outstanding service.
- Ashlee (8/5): - The bathrooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. The location is great. I was confused because I was charged 54 cent on Expedia for local taxes but was still asked to pay 50 cents again upon arrival? I was also told that the original price of the room was $124 and that Expedia took a $30 commission so that was frustrating. But overall, the staff is nice the price was good all things considered and the locations is convenient and fairly quiet.
- Namit (10/5): - Located at perfect location to explore chora town. Host Ana was very helpful.
We will visit again.
- Shirley (10/5): Great location - Great location and helpful staff.
- Pat (8/5): - The young lady that checked me in late at night was pleasant and helpful. The young man at check out needs to be a little friendlier. I felt I was interrupting his outdoor time!
- Juliana (10/5): Good hotel - Good location, in the middle of Mykonos city center. We got the apartment, just two block far from the hotel.
- Louie Leonidas (10/5): Good value - Good hotel in the heart of Mykonos town.
- Stuart (10/5): Better than expected - Stayed here for a week and was surprised at how nice it was hidden away in the centre of town. Had a second floor room with a balcony at the front. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful.
- Mariangel (10/5): I LOVED IT, im coming back soon - We loved this hotel, the location is amazing, The facilities are nice and clean, the rooms are very nice with cute little balconies. The staff is lovely and very helpful, Yanis was very nice and Anna helped a lot, when i made my booking from London i used a new debit card that for some reason had issues to be pre-authorised by the hotel. I contacted Hotels.com in order to update my payment method, the advisor was very patient but he couldnt help me changing the payment method, i was so stressed. I call the hotel directly and Anna was so patient and gave me peace of mind, she was so patient and provided an excellent customer service over the phone and we fixed the issue. We enjoyed very much our stay at Matogiannis hotel, we’re planning to come back in September. I recommend this hotel 100%
- Eimíle (10/5): - Fabulous hotel, clean and perfect location
- Roberto (10/5): Highly recommend it! - Great location, a quick walk from the sea bus station, and steps away from all shops and restaurants! The staff (Yanni) was super friendly and made us feel welcome. The room and its bathroom were tiny but spotlessly clean. I would recommend this place without hesitation!
- Tramaine (8/5): - Hotel staff was amazing and even arranged a taxi for us to transport our luggage from the hotel to the old port!
- Brianna (10/5): - While the budget rooms are nothing fancy, they were clean and comfortable and in the most amazing location. The terrace and the garden at the hotel made for great places to enjoy time out of the heat. The location is right in the heart of everything in Mykonos town and so you can really see everything. The central bus station for the island is a 5 minute walk so it is extremely convenient for visiting beaches and sites. The staff were so kind and friendly and as a solo female traveler I felt very safe and at home. Definitely recommend if you are looking at seeing Mykonos without spending thousands.
- david (8/5): Great location and good value - Stayed three nights at the hotel. Situated right in the centre of the town, so very convenient, and down a quiet side street which meant the noise from the bars and clubs wasn’t really noticeable. The area is pedestrianised, making it a bit of a trek (with two large suitcases) from where the taxis can drop off.
The hotel itself is smart and our room was on the first floor (no lift). No problem at all with the room and it was nice to have a balcony.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful and, given the high prices in Mykonos, the hotel was good value for money.
- Tetyana (10/5): - It is a great hotel in the middle of the busy Mykonos town. Really enjoyed our stay. Great value for money. Will definitely recommend and stay there again.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Literally a hidden gem. It is located in the heart of everything. The staff was incredible. I also recommend stopping by the breakfast place. The owners name is Thanos and he is a very kind hearted person. He has great food and coffee options and the outside seating feels like an oasis. Go eat at his place. You won’t regret.
- Miguel A. (10/5): - Everything was great, except for the bathroom (no shower curtain), so it gets very messy when you take a shower.
- Rachel (8/5): - They say they have laundry, but it costs 15 euros for one load.
- Grace (10/5): Great place to stay - This hotel is perfectly located and easily walkable to everything in Mykonos Town. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful with all our questions and everything we needed for our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect Location and staff is so nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, great room, fantastic staff!
- Tina (10/5): Very Nice Stay - The woman at the reception (sorry, I don't know her name) was extremely kind and helpful. Perfect location!
- Komsan (10/5): - I had a lovely stay in Mykonos at Matogianni Hotel. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The location is ideal for shops and restaurants! Great experience!
- Komsan (8/5): - The place is very tidy and very well situated. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend anyone to check this place out!!
- Ghadah (10/5): - Amazing
And the woman in the reception is extremely kind and helpful, she gave me a map and many advice about were to go and what can I do in Mykonos.
I also needed to change my booking since I booked for the next month by mistake and she did it to me. Unfortunately I forgot her name. The location is perfect as well and the room is big and clean.
- Guilherme (10/5): Good location, but no blackout curtain - Good location and nice staff.
Curtain is not a blackout, don't expect a dark room to sleep.
- Kim (6/5): Not worth the money - Good location, lighting is very bad, if blinds are off the windows people from the street could see in the room, also a window in the bathroom that you can see right through. There was used amenities in the room from previous guests. I did not find the bathroom
Very clean.
- Habib (8/5): - Nice location
- Andrew (8/5): Great value for money! - Clean and quiet. Although the shower area in the washro
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was great in the center of the city, close to all restaurants
- Octavio (2/5): Don’t stay there ! Go a where else - I wouldn’t stay here or recommend it to anyone , ever . The room didn’t have working ac , they didn’t fix it until the next day . Slept in a super hot room because it’s still summer weather for me . Very uncomfortable . Tried to talk to management about how uncomfortable it was for me as a tourist to sleep under those conditions . I wanted a refund for at least a night because I felt like I shouldn’t have paid for that night , the manager started yelling at us telling us to not expect anything . Very rude and arrogant. I was getting married and this hotel didn’t make it an easy stress free day for me
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel was so clean! The beds were comfy and it was right in the centre of everything. The only thing that could be improved is the shower. There is no barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, and no shower curtain so everything gets wet. But having hot water was nice!
- Loke (8/5): - The location is great, walking distance to everything you need, shopping, dining, beach, old port to take the sea bus or bus to new port. Staff was very friendly. Room was good, would be perfect if the balcony had a view.
- Anthony (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect. You never have to worry about getting around the island because you are a 7 min walk away from the main bus station. Room was perfect size, clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Within walking distance of everything in the old town. Clean, basic rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really quiet and centrally located! Staff was amazing and really helpful!
- kazem (6/5): - nothing inside room even a bottle of water small rooms when asked from reception they mentioned nothing is there is nothing because this is 2 star hotel in except to location there is not anything to mention the price with respect to services is very high some chairs outside hotel are located as breakfast room very funny
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great - Great
- Luke (6/5): Matogianni Hotel; Adequate rooms, great service - When we first arrived at the hotel. We were shocked to be given a sub par room to be told that this is the room we had booked. Due to Hotels.com lack of advertising to show exactly all the available rooms they had to offer we had to refuse the condition that was provided so we asked to move rooms to a more suitable option. Luckily the hotel staff were more than accommodating. They switched our rooms after 1 night into a great little double bedroom. Service was great, we didnt try the breakfast as you had to pay extra. Location within Mykonos town is perfect. You are literally in the heart of the town with Little venice 5 mins away and town centre 2 mins away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location is excellent.
Antigone was very friendly and helpful.
- Andrew (8/5): Good hotel - Good location, reception was very helpful with booking restaurants/tours.
Overall a good place to stay.
- Mark (10/5): - Location is central . Price is ok for the room at the basement. Staff are very helful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was great.
Vibe of hotel has changed alot since they removed the main floor bar, I understand that they are working in renovating another area for a bar which hopefully will revive the atmosphere of the hotel.
- Stylianos (8/5): - Fantastic location. Right in the centre but still quiet at night. Super friendly staff. Would definitely book again
- Claudia (10/5): - The location is excellent, as is the staff! The wifi was very good in the lobby but did not reach our room which was not attached to the main building. However , the location of our room was very good for privacy and we couldnt hear the hustle and bustle of Mykonos night life which meant a good night sleep. I would definitely stay here again!
- Rebecca (6/5): - Nice property, offers 24 hour front desk service. It can be a bit tricky to find but getting lost in Mykonos is easy.
- Anthony (8/5): Great location! - It was very good in general. The location is great and he room is simple but it has all you need. The front desk people is friendly and helpful. Nothing fancy, but the hotel has a great location close to everything in naxos town.
- Christopher (10/5): A bit of grunge (and a pond) in paradise. - Amazing location, delightful staff. Breakfast was very good, although not included in our room rate. Housekeeping was weak point. Bathroom didn't have shower curtain, which was fine. A squeegee would have been nice to dry the floor. But issue was that housekeeping never cleaned mirror or sink area which got covered with shampoo. Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room we originally booked curtains kept falling down and no TV, they moved us and no shower had to rig the wand with the curtain hooks.
- Fawzi (8/5): - Very central in the here of the old town. Room spacious for a 2stars.
- leona (10/5): Matogianni Mykonos - Close to everything, area safe and quite. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.
- Zoe (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Friendly staff. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels. We would stay again. Fab location although not so easy to find. Not the quietest hotel, can here toilets flushing, TVs and people talking in the rooms nearby. Bed comfy. Nice light on ceiling. Some mould in the bathroom and on wall near bed. Generally smells a bit musty. Free safe in room. Would be better if breakfast was offered and if there was a kettle in the room. There is a fridge though. Feels safe at night. Late check out at 12pm. Good seating area st the front of the hotel. Nice little sun trap shielded from the wind.
- Bexy (4/5): Good location but dirty rooms - Pros: very central location (side street between pandora and Sephora down Matogianni St), nice reception area, friendly staff and budget friendly.
Cons: extremely musty smell from leaky bathroom and mold. No extractor fan in bathroom so open windows and mosquitoes come in (bitten 4 times). Thin walls so can hear neighbours. Blood stain on sheets, really old worn bath towels( once white now grey).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good deal for the price. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, nice staff, very clean! Would recommend!
- Randy (10/5): - Very nice and affordable accommodations. Nancy and Andreas were so helpful.
- Mandy (8/5): Great hotel stay - Hotel is centrally located within the Mykonos town, no worries about going back late because it's right in the middle of the streets! We missed the first night stay due to the cancellation of ferries, hotel could do a 50% refund, but we also requested for a late checkout at 6pm and they were immediately fine with the arrangement. Rooms' light continuously flicker and had smoking smell from the aircon unit, but otherwise it's a really good stay in this hotel. We will definitely book her if we are coming back here again.
- Joi (8/5): Almost Amazing - This hotel really surprised me. The rooms look brand spankin new with nice, modern floors, fresh looking bathrooms and monogramed towels and sheets. It is very European in that the rooms aren’t very big and I stayed in two different sizes. The location in fabulous: a couple minutes walk to the train station, 6 or 7 minutes walk to the waterfront and an amazing sushi place in the same building. It felt like a deal until i noticed some odd smells around the building. When you’re in the room you cant notice as much but there’s this strong sewer/ sulfer smell in the hallways and the staff doesn’t know where it comes from. That’s unfortunate because if they could solve that this place would be a perfect low-budget option for Como!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The owners harassed me and called me derogatory names because I wanted to check out a day early and have them honor their policy of 50% for the last day. I had to involve Expedia and they still wanted to lie. Also maids show up late and the front desk guy is not helpful at all.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay if you only want to be at the city center... - The toilet did not work, did not flush, and kept making noise all night. Complained did not offer a change of room because it was “booked” entirely. They only offered to call someone to fix it who never came. On the second day they offered a smaller room than the one we paid for and we noticed a couple of empty rooms next to the one they gave us. And last but not least we had roaches in our room. Bad experience overall.
- Mauricio (10/5): Excellent stay - We only started one night but the studio was amazing. The was a little balcony that we enjoyed a few drinks on. Location was prime! Right in the middle of restaurants/shops.
- Jesse (10/5): - Good location nice clean rooms, staff super friendly and accommodating as helpful with all needs and questions about things to do or how to get around best on the island
