Guest Reviews
- Rhonda (9/5): - Lovely place to stay, easy walk to beaches and restaurants. The kitchen could have been better equipped.
- Preeti (10/5): Very comfortable and relaxing stay. - Location was close to Ned’s Beach and the town. All good.
- Borta (10/5): Wonderful! - Everything about Lorhiti was fantastic. We loved the location with the private path down to Ned’s beach where we started every day with a morning swim. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. We loved the fact that they provided a torch, backpack, some picnic gear, washing machine and much more. Can’t recommend Lorhiti highly enough. There was absolutely nothing not to like about

- Patricia (9/5): LHI is a natural paradise and Lorhiti is an easy and relaxing place to be. - The location is just a short walk (5 minutes) from Ned’s beach which is beautiful.
The apartment was newly renovated, clean, comfortable and spacious. It’s a 15 minute walk downhill to the settlement heart or 5 minutes on hire bikes.
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Vicki (6/5): -
- peta (9/5): Freshly renovated, well equipped, walk to Ned's beach - Freshly renovated with everything you would need. Walk to Ned's beach. Only a small gripe, it's at the top of a hill which made a challenging return each day on our bikes. Overall nothing to complain about, it's a great resort.
- Jonathan C. (10/5): This is a beautiful place to stay and the location was suburb! - It is a beautiful location with excellent access to Ned's beach! It has been recently renovated and everything is fresh and very stylish. Nothing it was perfect for us.
- Chris (9/5): - Location was terrific and people were very friendly.
- Casey (8/5): A lovely stay on at an idyllic un-crowded island paradise. - Airport and restaurant transfers provided by friendly host. Well-appointed newly renovated apartments well provisioned with appliances and basic provisions.
- Liliy (10/5): Quiet, cool and chic! We will be back! - Perfection! The only bad part is that we had to leave!!!! Good job Owens family. PS - a plant lovers paradise! We loved everything! Even the walk up from town helped keep the pounds off!
- Sébastienperrin (9/5): -
- Bona (9/5): - Excellent staff service and location.
- Simon (9/5): Nice clean apartments in really nice tropical gardens. - Nice clean apartments in really nice tropical gardens. Very close to Ned’s beach where the best snorkelling is to be had off the beach, and also to witness the mutton birds (flesh footed shearwaters) coming in every night. Meal facilities were a bit limited - only two of most cutlery/crockery items, limited pots.
- Shayne (9/5): -
- James (9/5): Fantastic stay, excellent kitchen facilities, good hosts and nice people. - The kitchen was amazing and refurbished which met our needs perfectly. Walking distance down to Ned's beach was fantastic. The hot tub was fantastic after hiking Mt Gower They forgot to provide hand soap in the bathroom but that was about it. The 6pm cut off for the hot tub seemed a little early, perhaps they could provide a key so guests to use later in the evening?
- sue (10/5): Perfect place to stay on a beautiful island. Our 3rd time here - Very practical space with everything you need to enjoy this wonderful island Nothing
- David Greilach (8/5): A beautiful place to stay - Lohiti has been recently renovated and, with the exception of the bathrooms, feel very new and airy. It is close to Ned's Beach and has a lively private path to the beach. There is also a lively outdoor spa and BBQ. Leaving!!
- Sneddo (10/5): Lord Howe is a very special island retreat where nature explodes in your face. - Fletch has done a fantastic job renovating the property it is extremely comfortable and its location above Neds beach is outstanding.
The walk through the fig trees down to the beach makes this a very special holiday. Nothing noted.
- JOZEF (8/5): -
- Elena (10/5): - Struttura SPETTACOLARE !! Siamo stati 5 giorni in quest’isola paradisiaca e l’appartamento non era da meno. Super ampio, in ordine, moderno, cucina super fornita e bagno pulitissimo e ampio
3 minuti a piedi passando in un percorso tracciato meraviglioso per arrivare a ned’s beach
Vasca con acqua bollente in giardino, area barbecue e sonde relax. Tutto perfetto !!!
- Georgie (9/5): Wonderful stay amongst nature with great amenities and friendly hospitality. - Lorhiti was well located, just a short walk to where lots of the cafes and restaurants are and you could walk out the back of your apartment to Neds Beach.
You feel tucked into naure with all the foliage around, the staff were all really friendly and offer a drop off service in the evening. The apartments are well equiped if you want to make food at home, the rooms have tea and coffee and as we were getting married they had even left us some champagne in the fridge. The spa being closed at 6 was a shame as in the evening was when we would have enjoyed it more.
The room aesthetic was lovely whereas the kitchen lounge area could be made a little cosier/ homely with rugs/ art work etc. But it was all very modern and clean.
- Catherine (10/5): We loved Lorhiti being so close to Ned’s Beach and the beautifully lush and well maintained gardens. - Beautiful lush gardens, friendly staff and great location near Ned’s Beach. The hill to access the property!
- Graham (8/5): -
- Elvira (8/5): - The single beds in our room were very uncomfortable.
- Jason (9/5): Chilled, peaceful vibes at Lorhiti. Set in beautiful tropical forest . Excellent location close to amazing Neds beach &a - Brilliant location. 150m through a beautiful tropical forest to Neds Beach, with incredible snorkelling & swimming. Comfortable bed, modern & recently renovated rooms, relaxed & peaceful vibe, easy walk or bike ride to town in a few minutes , welcoming ,efficient & friendly staff, great spa, excellent communication. Bathroom could do with renovating, which I think is scheduled soon.
- Karen (8/5): -
- Anna (8/5): Amazing! I want to come back! - The location of the property was wonderful, close to the shops and eating areas, very close to the beach and you can do some beautiful walks close by with fantastic views of the island! It was a bit dated, but other than that there were no issues
- Kris (7/5): Good - A relaxing, quiet place Some maintenance issues
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Peta (9/5): Superb - Very quiet. Lovely garden. Good value. Great staff.
Lovely short track to Ned's Beach. Felt a little closed in but I think most accommodation on the island is tucked in amongst palm tree forests.
Very comfortable and clean. A little dated but I think renovations are pending.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teck (8/5): Good comfortable stay and close to neds beach - Transit lounge is great, you can park your luggage and wonder around the island and comeback for a shower or rest before catching the flight Room is decent and comfortable but a little dated plus a little pricey.
- Mihaela (10/5): excellent -
- James (9/5): Will be back!! - We’ll set up apartments with all the facilities. Location next to Ned’s Beach was great. Close to most things with a number of challenging walks close by. Staff were great and helpful with lifts to restaurants at 6:00 PM each night. Minor detail ceiling fan blades could do with a clean.
- Rose (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (8/5): We had a lovely stay at Lorhiti apartments. The people there are very nice and looked after us well. - Location is good, near to lovely Ned's Beach. A bit of a walk into town with a hill. You either walk or ride a bike and the accommodations will drive you to dinner each night. Our mattress was a bit too old I thought. I thought they could have provided more ecco friendly cleaning products given its a world heritage listing in recognition of its superlative natural phenomena and its rich terrestrial and marine biodiversity as an outstanding example of an island ecosystem developed from submarine volcanic activity.
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (8/5): Relaxing, peaceful and just what we needed. - Loved the layout of the apartments, the hot tub and the BBQ facilities. It was quiet, lush and so relaxed. Nothing I did not like.
- Bona (9/5): Superb - Excellent location. small showers
- Mark (9/5): Wonderful stay, and many thanks to the caretakers Sherice and Chris! - Great location adjacent to Ned's beach and short walk or ride into town for restaurants. Property was very well cared for, with hot tub, lounge chairs, equipped kitchen. A bit more decor in the place would be nice.
- Graham (9/5): Would revisit: very good location; good value against full service (meal plan) accommodations. - Very well located: walkway through to Ned’s Beach; 10/15 min walk to The Anchorage and shops and lagoon. Comfy bed; well kitted out for self-catering (equiv to 3-star motel); free internet (a must on LHI as no cell phone coverage). Overall a very good option if the full bed & board (‘American Plan’) apartment complexes are beyond your budget. Rear windows weren’t lockable. On the mainland this would be a big issue but on a small island with only 300 residents, and only access by air - not that big a deal; similarly the ‘transit lounge’ where you leave your bags waiting transport could do with key code access - again only an issue for those taking Sat/Sun mid-afternoon flights who may not be comfortable leaving laptops / kindles etc while taking a last opportunity for a stroll; swim or brunch in the township.
- Luke (10/5): Clean, comfortable and on LHI! - It’s on Lord Howe Island for a start. Clean and quiet. It was a perfect week with this great base.
- Sorige (9/5): A small oasis - The property is very well maintained and there is several small cozy places to relax at including a hot tub
- Dowling (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue (9/5): Lovely apartment on the most Beautiful island. - Second time we have stayed here - simple, clean, everything you need for a great time on beautiful lord howe. If you have noisy neighbors who slam the doors and shout, you will hear them! Not a fault of the property - but a small consideration.
- Megan (9/5): Really enjoyed the feel and location - would definitely come back again. - Lovely casual vibe with everything you need (no oven but we used bbq very successfully to cook lasagna) and fabulous location with private track to beautiful Beds beach - went for a dip and fish feed there every morning. Had a spa at the end of every day too. Only just enough crockery/cutlery/mugs etc
- Lechner-scott (5/5): Passable -
- Alison (10/5): A wonderful stay in a comfortable apartment in an idyllic location -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susannah (10/5): Location, location, location. Close to Ned’s Beach through a stunning private rainforest track. Plus the property’s own - Lorhiti’s proximity to Ned’s Beach had us swimming from sun up to sun down. The private walk through the rainforest was spellbinding.
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Lovely time frozen place close to idyllic beach - Lovely simple rooms, extremely close to the beach, clean and well attended could not ask for more went on the island
- Ruth (8/5): Beautiful stay, great staff. It was very close to Ned’s beach. - Secluded and quiet Uphill walk
- Compton (10/5): Good. -
- Craig (7/5): Great location and friendly staff. Rooms need a renovation. - The location is great and the staff are friendly It’s pretty tired, rooms need a renovation.
- Craig (9/5): Absolutely magnificent local just a few steps from stunning Neds Beach. - Absolutely magnificent experience at Lorhiti. Great location just a short walk from the beautiful Ned's beach. Our host who met us at the airport showed us all the important spots we needed to know during the short minivan ride. Be sure to grab a bicycle on your first day as it is the best way to get around My wife didn't like the little hill on the bike coming back from the lagoon beach. She'll work on the two piston engine for next time. Only tip could be to offer a ride back down to collect bicycles just after arrival as they are so handy for the stay on the island.
- Bronwyn (8/5): Very good -
- Judith (8/5): Lovely stay in comfortable apartment - Great and prompt communication with Kathi
Layne and Jayden were wonderful!! - very helpful and friendly hosts
Comfy bed
Olive oil, S&P provided, usual (hotel/motel) type of supplies to start with (tea bags, coffee sachets, sugar, small milk in fridge)
Welcome block of chocolate
Diamonds store down the road is great for prepared meals (not always available) and fresh meat, produce and groceries
Nice and close to Ned's beach for a swim/snorkel As others have reviewed, the lounge is rather uncomfy
No tissues provided
- Robert (9/5): Island Hide Away - Quiet setting, well kept and cared for garden and easy walk through forest to Neds beach
- Pamela (8/5): Very good -
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (8/5): Well located comfortably apt close to Ned’s - Surrounded by garden. Access to the beach. Well layout of apt. Basic - could have added a few extras to enhance our stay.
- John (9/5): Convenient, clean, well provisioned apartment in paradise. - Very nice apartment (self catering) with everything one needed. Comfortable bed. Great location and very close to Ned's Beach and a 10 minute walk into "town". Very central for most walks/hikes. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much of a problem. Nothing not to like.
- Sandi (9/5): Perfect location for a short holiday - Absolutely beautiful surroundings, so well maintained and incredibly friendly, helpful staff Nothing
- Cherie (10/5): Perfect location, comfortable property in a pristine place. - This property is a gem. Location was perfect with private access to Neds Beach and a short stroll to a variety of foodie options. The bed was super comfy and the room spotless. All you need in a kitchen to cook and a number of beautifully maintained private spaces in the gardens to relax and eat. The transfer service to and from the airport was seamless and communication clear. The staff were super helpful with the local intel and things to do and see. Thank you Lorhitti. We had an incredible week and look forward to visiting again in the future. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- Troy (10/5): excellent - location
- Hayley (9/5): Amazing place to stay in paradise! - The staff are the best! I received a lovely email from Kathi once I had booked giving me lots of information - what kind of weather I could expect, what there was to do on the island, what was provided in my apartment, what restaurants/shops were nearby etc which was super helpful. Fletch collected me from the airport for my free transfer and was super friendly and drove to the accommodation slowly, pointing out everything I might need on the way, which helped me immediately get my bearings. I was also provided with a map of the town and some details for some hikes which was also really helpful.
The accommodation was close to everything and is set in beautiful grounds. Everything was as advertised. The heater and electric blanket on the bed were much appreciated as it was pretty cold at night.
The bathroom doesn't look very modern in the photos but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
There's private access to beautiful Ned's Beach and the town and Lagoon Beach are only approx. 5 mins walk away.
Thanks Kathi and Fletch!
Lord Howe Island itself is expensive to get to and whilst you are there (I paid $15.00 for a load of bread!) but the place is honestly like paradise and it was worth every cent. The beaches are beautiful and pristine. Do some of the walks/hikes if you can as the views are some of the best I've ever seen. Soundproofing between the villas is virtually non-existent and you can hear full on conversations like your neighbours are in the next room. I asked for a quiet room as I'm a light sleeper and was given the last villa of the row which was much appreciated as I only had noise from one side and luckily my neighbours weren't too bad.
- Peter (9/5): Would highly recommend - Great location. We had to leave..
- Mark (9/5): Comfortable, complete, beautiful garden. - Excellent bed, very obliging proprietor All good. Couple of egg cups would be good.
- Michael (7/5): Good - Location next to Neds beach outstanding. Pick up and drop off service to airport was exceptional . Nightly courtesy van to local restaurants. Fairly basic kitchen and bathroom ammenities . No oven. Shared Outdoor BBQ available . Otherwise very neat and clean . .
- Aldona (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and very clean place
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachael (8/5): Very good -

- James (10/5): Perfect slice of Paradise - Great location, super comfortable bed/pillows
Friendly staff Nothing that I can think of
- Joanne (8/5): A lovely place to stay on Lord Howe with a lovely rainforest pathway to Ned's beach - A lovely garden setting for an apartment on Lord Howe. Comfy bed, quiet location. Bathroom outdated especially shower but adequate
- Leonie (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location close to Beach, cafes & tour offices. Comfy king size bed & beautiful gardens & BBQ area. The sofa in the lounge was not comfortable.
- David (10/5): Absolutely enjoyed ourselves, very happy stating at Lorhiti - Lorhiti, very well maintained property, comfortable room, quiet, lots of different birds, excellent staff, prompt, proud of there job and their island. Set in lovely gardens, great outdoor dining area. Steep hill into town but with bikes and mobility scooter it was fine.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Bellejeffe (10/5): 50th birthday celebrations - Everything! The location so close to the beach, private balcony, guest laundry, clean BBQ facilities.
- Annik (9/5): Perfect location between town and Ned’s Beach. Loved that Lorhiti is up a small hill to get the cycling or walking exerc - Access to Ned’s Beach, setup of rooms and property, Transit Lounge, gardens, bbq facilities, proximity to town. Nothing we can think of!
- Joanne (10/5): Relaxing short holiday with entertaining Woodhens - Access to Ned’s beach makes this the place to stay. Woodhens - returned from the brink of extinction- wandering around the beautiful subtropical garden.
- Judith (9/5): Amazing location and greatvstaff - Location near Ned's Beach was brilliant The sofas and furniture are dated and starting to show their age. The sofa especially was a bit uncomfortable.
- Patricia (7/5): Good -
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (9/5): Lord Howe is a hidden jewel and definitely needs to be on your bucket list. - Lorhiti was well equipped for you to cater and relax at home and beautiful gardens surrounded the apartments where you could read a book or enjoy a wine. We were met at the airport by a lovely couple from Western Australia who drove us the scenic route back to Lorhiti and provided us with lots of information on places to visit, cafes to eat at etc. It was a 10 minute walk from our accomodation down a private track to Ned’s Beach which was excellent for snorkelling. My husband is unable to ride a bike so we walked into town. It probably took us 15 mins and longer on the way back as steep. This would be a quick hop skip and a jump for people cycling.
- Mary (9/5): Such a peaceful break in a magical setting! - Beautiful surrounds and wonderful private access to Ned’s Beach, evening bus to restaurants in town. Nothing at all!
- Ann (10/5): Fantastic place for a holiday - Proximity to Ned’s Beach, size &fit out of the apartment was great Can’t think of anything
- Etienne (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Parker-smith (10/5): Beautiful stay at Lorhiti appartments. Great location and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. - Close to everything.
Clean and well equipped.
Lovely setting next to beach. Nothing
- John (10/5): Excellent traditional island getaway. - Small block of single story traditional self contained units. Excellent kitchen facilities, good bedroom and bathroom facilities. Plenty of room, great shared outdoor BBQ and eating areas. Staff drove you to your dining destinations. One for those who don't need the bling of the modern world.
- Nicola (9/5): Our stay was very pleasant and a nice relaxing, respite from the city. - Our accommodation was pleasant and the staff were very helpful. Everywhere apart from the Golf Club was within walking distance from our lodgings.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Superb - Right by Ned's beach and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Drying rack for swim wear and towels outside.
- Leeanne (9/5): A very relaxing and comfortable stay, would definitely choose Lohiti again when we revisit. - We liked that Lohiti was within walking distance to the main centre, especially our very own well maintained tract to Ned's beach. We loved hearing the waves and bird calls at night. Very friendly wildlife, and lovely garden surrounds. Loved taking a walk at night to the beach to view the unobstructed night sky -amazing. Nothing
- Sue (9/5): Superb -
