• Felice (8/5): - Die Lage war gut, um diverses in Sokcho zu erreichen, der Besitzer war sehr freundlich. Die Unterkunft befindet sich weiter weg vom Strand, als angegeben, was aber nicht schlimm ist.
• Daisy (7/5): Plus- en minpunten - De host Yoo is uiterst vriendelijk en er hangt een fijne sfeer in het hostel. Dit is dan ook de reden van de hoge waardering op Booking. De kamers zijn ook schoon. Het bed was niet heel comfortabel, de handdoeken waren klein en hadden vlekken, de wifi werkt niet op de kamer en er hangt een wat vreemde lucht in het gebouw.

• Nimrod (10/5): Couldn’t ask for more - The room was lovely, had everything I needed with shampoo and body soap included too! The vibe and decoration of everything was super cool too. The common area was lovely and other guests were really friendly too. More importantly, Yoo at the reception was absolutely amazing, when I arrived he knew I only had one day to go to Seoraksan and he gave me all the information on how to get there,which hikes he recommended and all the food spots in Sokcho. He was such a happy and relaxed person it was always nice interacting with him. I really wish I’d stayed for a few more nights and if I com back I will 100% go back to this place!

• Linus (10/5): 10/10. Toller Gastgeber und schöne Unterkunft. Wir kommen wieder! - Yoo ist einer der - wenn nicht sogar - der netteste Host, den wir auf unseren Reisen kennenlernen durften. Man merkt einfach, dass viel Liebe in der Unterkunft steckt und fühlt sich direkt wohl. Es war sauber, die Lage war gut, die Küche war schön, das Zimmer und Badezimmer schön groß. Sokcho hat auch viel zu bieten und insbesondere der Nationalpark war wunderschön. Wir sind froh diesen „Glücksgriff“ gemacht zu haben. Wir kommen wieder! Minimale Verbesserungsvorschläge: - größere Handtücher - eine Nachttischlampe/Leselampe im Schlafzimmer - ein Bild im Zimmer wäre schön gewesen, da es so etwas kahl wirken kann. Vorallem im Vergleich zum Rest des Hostels.

• UliLausB (8/5): Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis - Freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, gute Lage direkt am Bus zum Nationalpark und Express Bus Terminal, nette Atmosphäre, Waschmaschine und Trockner zur Nutzung für schlankes Geld, schönes Zimmer. Dass man das Bett selber machen muss.

• Ophélie (10/5): Un petit havre de paix ! - Nous avons adoré notre court séjour dans l’auberge de Yoo qui est un hôte incroyable. L’endroit est décoré de maniere très chaleureuse, on s’y sent comme à la maison. Les chambres sont simples mais très propres. La salle à manger commune est agréable et bien équipée. Et le logement est très bien situé, proche du terminal de bus et du marché aux poissons !

• Lisa (10/5): Hidden Paradise in Sokcho - I was traveling through Korea for 4 weeks and in my whole time I didn’t have a stay this wholesome and beautiful of an experience. Yoo is born to run this small paradise in Sokcho and we were so happy to have spent 4 nights here. His recommendations are the best, you can ask him everything and the Hostel is just such a feel good cute space you could stat there for weeks and still discover something new!

• Pascal (10/5): Super hostel propre et chaleureux - Yoo vous accueille avec le sourire et plein de recommandations de choses à faire et de restaurants. Tout était parfaitement propre, la chambre, salle de bain et les espaces communs. La grande cuisine permet de se réchauffer un repas au micro-onde ou de se faire un café/thé. L’hostel est très bien situé, dans une petite ruelle calme, à deux pas d’un CU et de l’arrêt de bus pour le Seoraksan. Bonne base pour visiter à pied ou en transport en commun. Check-in et check-out super simple et communication avec l’hôte facile et claire. En bref, une excellente expérience, je recommande chaudement !

• melanie (10/5): Homey stay in great position - Yoo is a wonderfully friendly and helpful host who provided us with loads of great local recommendations! The rooms are simple but have everything you need for a comfy stay. The common kitchen is super cosy and homey – we had everything we needed. The hostel's location is great: just a 10-minute stroll to the fish market and plenty of restaurants, about same duration to the lake, a minute from a 24h convenience store, and 5-10 minutes from the intercity bus station, 5 min taxi from the express bus station.

• Véronique (8/5): Tolles Hostel mit super-freundlichen Gastgeber - die perfekte Ausgangsbasis für den Seorokan Nationalpark. - Yoo war ein sehr toller und liebenswürdiger Gastgeber, er hatte viele Tips und hat mich willkommen geheissen. Der Nationalpark ist sehr gut mit dem Bus zu erreichen und wunderschön zum Wandern! Ausserdem ist der Bus Terminal fussläufig zu erreichen - es hat zwei in Sokcho, dieser weiter nördlich sollte erreicht werden, wenn man zum Hostel laufen möchte. Das Zimmer ist einfach und ich hatte alles was ich brauche, die Lage ist ruhig gelegen.

Très bien situé (station de bus intercitée tout proche, et arrêt de bus pour aller au parc national ou explorer les environs à moins de 100 mètres) Chambre propre et agréable, espace commun, tout est pensé pour votre confort et votre bien être. Je recommande les yeux fermés. J'aimerai que tous les hostel/hotel aient cette qualité de prestation avec ce rapport qualite / prix

• Emily (10/5): Lovely host and great premises (more of a hotel than a hostel) - Great location, ten minute walk from the market and ten minutes the other way to the lighthouse to watch the sunrise. There’s a big kitchen and common area and the rooms also good size. The host was so lovely, recommended some great restaurants and also talked through the hikes through Seoraksan - I think that in itself made the stay worthwhile.

• Beatrice (10/5): Amazing hostel in Sokcho - The hostel is perfectly positioned, the bus stop is very close and the fish market nearby is beautiful. The management is amazing! The owner explained everything at my arrival and also gave me a lot of information about what to do in Sokcho. The place is perfect to visit Seoraksan national park, the bus stop for the park is directly outside the hostel and there is a convenience store close by. The room is very comfortable, it has everything you need and it was very quiet. Overall, I would 100% come back here and recommend it.

• Fortmueller (10/5): Eine schöne Erfahrung - Bestes Hostel auf meiner Reise. Kam spät gegen 21 Uhr, der Betreiber empfing mich und gab mir eine 5 minütige Einführung für Sokcho! Kulinarische sowie Wander- und Ausflugstipps. Das Hostel selbst hat eine wunderschöne Atmosphäre, gemütliche Deko (Andenken aus aller Welt, Bücher, Bilder, Poster etc.) und Einrichtung, einen Küchenbereich innen, sowie draußen ein Aufenthaltsraum ähnlich einem Wintergarten. House Hostel passt, man fühlt sich zuhause und könnte dort getrost auch einmal einen ganzen regnerischen Tag verbringen und ein Buch lesen. Ein home away from home.

• Tristan (10/5): Super moment à Sokcho - Super accueil, l'Hôte prend le temps de tout vous expliquer, comment accéder aux différentes randonnées, les meilleurs randonnées à faire, comment préparer votre départ si vous avez un bus à prendre, les bonnes adresses pour vous restaurer. La chambre était confortable et calme. L'auberge est proche de la cote ce qui permet de profiter d'une super balade le soir avant de rentrer.

• David (10/5): Why stay anywhere else? - Location superb. The bus station (buses every half hour until late to Seoul and even the airports), the bus stop to Seoraksan, the seafood market, the port, lots of restaurants, beaches - it’s all close by. Relaxing place and lovely host. It’s a perfect base Nothing.

The kitchen provides everything you need (tea, coffee, cream, microwave,…). The room was cosy and the bathroom huge (with towels, toothpaste …) Yoo will welcome you with all the things you can do and eat in the area. The bus stop to go to Seoraksan is really near the hostel.
• Mónica (10/5): All in all, a top-class host, a unique stay, and a location that’s very well connected to everything! - Choosing The House Hostel to spend New Year’s Eve and welcome 2026 couldn’t have been a better decision. Our arrival in Sokcho was delayed by more than an hour, yet Yoo was still there waiting to greet us. Even though it was very late, he took the time to sit down with us and, using a map, explain what to see and do in the area and how to get to each place. On top of that, he gave us plenty of restaurant recommendations and even marked each one on our Naver Maps. The level of care and genuine kindness was outstanding. As for The House Hostel itself, I absolutely loved the décor and wish I’d taken more time to appreciate every detail. There were so many interesting touches, and everything was vibrant and colorful. The room was very comfortable, as was the bathroom, and the electric blanket on the bed was a solid 10/10.
• Elodie (10/5): - L'accueil etait extrêmement chaleureux, nous avons directement été aiguillé sur toutes les activités à faire, comment y accéder, et où manger ! L'emplacement est top, la station de bus est à 1 minute de marche, et donne accès à plusieurs bus qui desservent toute la ville, et aussi le parc. Possibilité de laisser les bagages après le check-out, c'est très utile ! De plus, il y a un matelas chauffant pour l'hiver (à mettre au niveau 1 car ca chauffe fort!) Il y a tout ce qu'il faut dans les chambres, serviettes propres à récupérer à l'accueil tous les jours. Distributeurs à eau, cuisine commune et salle de repos commune, il y a tout ce dont on peut avoir besoin ! Encore merci pour tout ! (petit plus : les lieux sont très bien décorés)
• Jan (10/5): Sokcho zum zweiten - War zum 2. Mal im Hostel und hat mir wieder super gefallen. Yuu ist extrem nett und schaut immer das alles läuft wie es soll. Die Einrichtung des Hostels ist sehr warm und man fühlt sich willkommen.

• Viktorija (10/5): Warm greetings from Sokcho - felt like at home. - Good location! Near the sea, a walk distance to some sightseeing places, also near the popular food market. Bus stop right near the property that takes you everywhere important, for me it was either center, bus station and of course Seoraksan National Park!! The interior is sooo lovely!! And the owner is sooo lovely!! He met me on the day of arrival, did a mini tour on the property, and thoroughly informed me about all the must-see places in Sokcho, as well as best Seoraksan trails to take. Moreover, he gave me some recommendations on the restaurants and places to go on a rainy day! I was traveling on the national holiday so he also gave some advice on the transportation, I was very grateful for that! All in all, It was such a warm stay thanks to the property owner. My room was spacious enough, with a big bed and a TV that had my favorite shows!! Also a spacious bathroom was a plus! Everything was GOOD! If I ever have a chance to travel to Sokcho again, I’m staying here~
