- Judith (9/5): Although the weather was less than perfect, our stay in Rockport was!! - Location was great! Room was clean & comfortable. Would definitely stay here again! Nothing that I can think of.
- christina (9/5): The area was beautiful- the view was just lovely. The room was very clean-the deck was a bonus. - The location is fantastic. It is right on the water- just like the picture. We opened our window and could hear the ocean. The little town is so cute- good places to eat- walkable- interesting shops. We chose the petite queen- it is very petite! If you are looking for room to spread out- this is not the room to choose. We did however make it work- we usually don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway.

- Véronique (8/5): Literie exceptionnelle, emplacement extraordinaire ! - Rénovation très réussie ! Nous revenons avec toujours autant de plaisir dans votre établissement ! Les voisins du dessus ! Très incorrects…
- Jeffrey (8/5): Though our stay was brief, my wife and I emphatically enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return. - The location was exceptional. Check-in was extremely easy and convenient. The communication and interaction with staff was superb. The shower having hard water was the only (minor) issue.
- Ewoud (9/5): - Wat een machtige locatie!
- David (9/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great location! Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Recommend Roy Moore’s for lobster and chowder. The shops closed early -most closed by 5PM. Nice patio bar at hotel. Fell asleep to sound of waves crashing against the rocks. Beautiful sunset. Good value.
- Rachel (10/5): - Staying here at the start of fall was amazing! The room was beautiful and well appointed, with the king size bed more comfortable than my own at home. Everything from management was contactless which allowed for seamless check in and checkout. Heads up there are about 20 stairs to get to the second floor with no elevator. The view was unbelievable and peaceful. We'll definitely be back!
- Paul (9/5): - Het hotel heeft geen ontbijtformule wat jammer is.
Voor de rest was alles top.
- Ken (10/5): - Beautiful place
- Marion (10/5): September in Bearskin Neck, Rockport - Nice motel on the water on a quaint road with cute shops and lovely vistas.
- Elizabeth (3/5): -
- Jeanne (10/5): - A worthy consideration for any stay in Rockport. We were impressed by the cleanliness of our room which was outstanding. Parking is right in front of the building in a town where parking can be difficult to find at times. The room was tastefully decorated and provided a front row seat to the ocean. As others have mentioned, listening to the waves hit the shoreline was relaxing; like having your own live sound machine. We stayed in room 5 which had two double beds. We only used one which we found to be soft, but comfortable enough. The bed linens, bath towels, shower curtain and in room amenities (fridge, luggage rack, Keurig, extra pillows & blankets) were all top notch. There was a small cafe table and chairs for in room use as well as a TV and air conditioner which we didn’t use. The area is a fun, coastal destination filled with quintessential New England views, architecture, touristy shops, restaurants and eateries. We did not interact with any staff; however, communication from the owners regarding our stay was timely, detailed and provided for an easy check in and check out. I highly recommend if you’re seeking a clean and convenient accommodation in Rockport. Note that it is not a pet friendly site or accessible per ADA standards as noted in their information.
- Lee Ann (10/5): - This is a very cute place in a darling location. The view was incredible and it was a large, comfortable room. There's a bar about 20 feet away & that was very convenient. It was all remote, so we didn't meet anyone at the property.
- Sarit (9/5): -
- Gail (9/5): A great vacation spot! - We couldn’t be any closer to the ocean. The view from the room was beautiful! It’s nestled right among gift shops and restaurants. Just perfect!
- Brian (9/5): - Super location with a great view. Easy and early check-in. Free parking on Bearskin Neck.
- susan (6/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Lovely - The setting can’t be beat. Wish it was a little less expensive.
- Linda (10/5): - C
- Megan (8/5): Great room with an amazing location - Location was AMAZING A little pricey but for the spot you are in, its worth it
- Hana (10/5): - Best inn at Rockport !!! You can park right in front of the room, bar right next to us was the hit! Restaurant on the end of the street are great and rock harbor are right there. Perfect place!!

- Amanda (10/5): - What a cute little spot. Was perfect for our girls getaway!
- Heather (10/5): - The room was immaculate. The view was perfect. Everyone so nice. Location close to everything. We will be back!
- Jacob (10/5): - Amazing view, good people, very clean
- saraheI6878ND (10/5): Cozy, Clean, Comfortable with Incredible Oceanside Views - A cozy stay in an excellent location - this is definitely a great place to book if you are planning on enjoying some time in Rockport!
I stayed in the queen room, which is certainly the smallest of their rooms. However, I found it charmingly cozy and very clean. There was plenty of helpful information posted about the space and the booking, and I took great advantage of their list of recommended restaurants. Since this is right on Bearskin Neck, you will find yourself right in the middle of everything, but the deck creates a lovely sense of privacy and quiet (as well as an unbeatable view of the ocean and the sunset!). My room was close to the cocktail bar next door, so I did hear some chatter, but the walls blocked out a lot of the sound and muffled it well. If you are bothered by that sort of thing, maybe try one of the middle rooms, but I really didn't mind. The bed was very comfortable, so I slept quite well. Again, everything was very clean and comfortable!
If you are thinking of visiting Rockport, this would be a great place to stay! You also get a prime parking stop in an area where parking can be hard to find.
- Holly (10/5): -
- Faith (10/5): - Prime location everything is around you and the property is so clean
- Roam62861434123 (10/5): Bucket List Stay - Amazing location, 2nd to none customer service, accommodating, VERY CLEAN , I intend on coming back before this summer is over as well!
- Anthony (10/5): - Been here several times over the years. Our favorite spot in Rockport. Thanks for the upgrades to the room and especially enjoyed the deck and all that came along with it. Staff was very gracious-
- Luke (9/5): Fantastic location over-looking the ocean. - The pictures of this apartment do not do it justice - it really is perched by the ocean and has the best possible views. The bar next door is great for cocktails and watching the sun go down. My Place By The Sea restaurant is fantastic!
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Lewis (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): - Location, Accommodating, Surroundings
- Kenneth (10/5): - It was quiet and wonderful. Very clean and comfortable.

- lmckay903001 (10/5): Great location and wonderful stay. - Great location with unbelievable views. Charming and clean room. Very quiet and relaxing. In the heart of Bearskin Neck.
- Annie2shu (10/5): Wonderful Retro Charm! - We were so happy to revisit this wonderful small hotel. They do a wonderful job of keeping the retro charm while updating for comfort. The bed was great, the pillows were wonderful, the coffee maker was a God send. The hosts make sure you feel welcomed. There's even a deck with available munchies and cocktails attached to the Motor Lodge. The view from your room window (no matter which room you are in) is spectacular!
- gschwa662471 (8/5): Most motel right by the water - The motor Lodge is ideally situated at the end of the pier on one of the main streets in Rockport. Everything is nearby and can be reached on foot. Beautiful view of the bay on the porch, which can be accessed from every room. Information about check-in, parking and key code for the room was all provided in a timely fashion via text messaging. Very comfortable and reliable.
- ldegen2025 (10/5): Rockport MA Beauty - Splendid water view surrounded by the rocks that make Rockport famous. The staff is friendly and live onsite and happy to give recommendations for where to eat etc. Highly recommend
- Penny (10/5): Bearskin Neck Motor Lodge - The view is what we wanted and the view is what we got. Amazing. .
- Michael (10/5): Great place to stay in Rockport! - The rooms were immaculate and the view amazing.
- Ambrose1 (10/5): A Seaside Gem - Stayed two nights at this no frills hotel and we picked a gem! After two weeks in the big city, this quiet, peaceful place was the best breathing space ever - so close to the waves, we were practically in the sea! Huge, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, great shower - can heartily recommend and would definitely return.
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): - Rooms were spacious and clean. Being right on the ocean was great. Lot's of food options in the area and during the peak season they have a full bar onsite.
Would be nice to stroll down the street with a local brew but this is Massachusetts and they dont allow it. You can burn a fatty but not drink a beer. SMH
- SouthernBelles98 (10/5): Loved staying here! Great location!! - So happy I chose to stay here for my visit to Rockport after about 40 years of visiting as a child. Bearskin Neck was my favorite area in Rockport and the lodge is perfectly situated. The room was comfortable with everything needed and a great ocean view. The staff is also very good with communication. I will definitely stay here again! I only wish the adjacent Hideway had been open during my stay because it is super cute with fabulous views . I’ll just have to visit again! Really enjoyed it.
- Joy (10/5): Nice - Very relaxing. We come.back here every year and just live the place. Right next to the ocean, you will hear the crashing of the waves in your room.
- Wilma (10/5): - Quaint lodge! So lovely to sit on the porch watching the ocean. Very helpful staff
- Adriaan (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (10/5): - Loved the location of the property. Beautiful view. Clean and quiet.
- Joanne (10/5): Loved our time in Rockport- will stay with me forever. Highly recommend both location and lodgings to anyone wanting to - Location is out of this world- magical to wake up to the Atlantic outside the door. Friendly staff and comfortable room
- Christina (10/5): This place should be on everyone’s bucket list! The location is perfect, the vibe is relaxing, and the service was excel - The location was amazing! Seriously so perfect! The check in process was smooth and the room was adorable! It was perfect.
- ChicagoRoc (10/5): Don't sleep on Bearskin Neck Motor Lodge! - Bearskin Neck Motor Lodge offered exceptional views - you really can't get any closer to the water. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the Hideaway next door. Communication was great and check in seamless. It's a wonderful place to stay for exploring the area.
- Helen (10/5): - This was the perfect little place with a wonderful location. Soothing sounds of the surf made for a great night sleep. The room was clean and comfortable, with I'm wonderful views of the water and area. This was a great find. We would absolutely stay here again
- Brown (10/5): Amazing! I would book there again. - Super clean. I ran my finger along all of the edges and there was zero dust in the room. The bathroom had a great shower in the water was hot. There was a Keurig in the room, which is fantastic. The beds were comfortable. I love the balcony room right on the water. Location is super close to Glouster, Salem and Boston. The only thing I did not like was some sort of maintenance man out front dumping wine bottles into the garbage at 7 AM. I am not sure if this man works for the motor Lodge or lived in town. But he had his truck parked in the motor Lodge parking lot.
- harry (10/5): - Great location and very friendly and helpful staff.
- Marianne (9/5): Great place by the ocean! - Very friendly owners, Krystle and Eric! The Hideaway that was added this year is great to relax, have a drink and snack, and take in the view. Since it’s at the end of Bearskin Neck and the view is amazing, it gets a little congested with people during the summer season but in no way is that a reflection on the lodge.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Spent two nights in Rockport on recommendation from a local Bostonian. Amazing little town on the coast with unique shops and eateries. Parking is reserved out front of the hotel which is nice because the street parking may be difficult to find. All the rooms have ocean front balconies. Two twins and one bathroom would be a little tight for our family of four if we were staying all week, but for a couple of nights, we made it work for the location. The lodge has a small public patio that serves snacks and drinks (not coffee. You have to walk back down the street for your espresso). The local shops are a draw for shoppers to buy unique souvenirs and local art. We did both.Plan on returning to this 5 ⭐location.
- Thompson (9/5): Superb -
- Totten (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): - A beautiful view from every room and the nicest staff. Can’t wait to come back
- EveyJordan (10/5): The cutest spot! - Best little place ever! Rooms were clean and comfortable. AC was the quietest one I’ve ever heard in my life. Views were incredible and so was the owner! Service at the bar was amazing and drinks were delicious! Perfect spot to walk around the cute shops. We will definitely be back ❤️
- Ester (10/5): Exceptional - Chose Bearskin Lodge for the location: spectacular view + convenient parking & ability to walk the waterfront area & shops to Shalin Lu Concert center where we attended a performance. Outstanding & memorable stay. We had no complaints
- Lessard (10/5): Home away from home - Love the view. Love the rooms. Very well maintenence. I would stay there again. I have no complaints. Loved everything
- James (10/5): - Location location location
- Ulrica (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, right by the waterfront and right on the main street downtown.
- Alicia (8/5): - It’s a nice location. I wish there would have been breakfast since there’s a restaurant with the place.
- 854dianek (10/5): Wonderful place to stay! - Perfect location for sunset viewing. Close to everything. Great staff. Room is tastefully decorated.
- Departure06498328039 (10/5): A Wonderful Stay with a Beautiful View! - Krystle & Eric,
What a wonderful time we had this weekend staying at the Bearskin Neck
Motor Lodge. LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! It was great to be able to
walk everywhere without driving. The main reason for vistiong
Rockport was to attend a music event at Shalin Liu Performance Center
on Friday night. That was fantastic as was our stay with you. I love
what you have done next door too! Great to be able to have a bite and
a drink with your beautiful ocean view. Can't get any better than
that. I look forward to coming back for another stay with you.
Thanks again.

- Megan (10/5): - The room was clean, comfortable and cute. We got the petite room with a queen bed and it was all we really needed considering it was just my boyfriend and I. The views out to the ocean were beautiful and we loved our stay in Rockport. I would highly recommend, this place to others looking for a quick little getaway.
- alisonr881 (8/5): Beautiful views, great location - Beautiful location, friendly welcome and walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room was not exceptional, but the view makes up for it. Very clean. Onsite parking. We sleep well, comfortable bed. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
- Mengmeng (10/5): - Great waterfront property. Wish they would sell coffee and simple breakfast.
- Hua (9/5): Very nice experience - The position is perfect, the ocean view is very nice. If there is a microwave oven in the room, that will be great.
- KoolAge13 (10/5): Perfect location, great stay and best pillows! - Highly recommend The Bearskin Neck Motor Lodge! It's the perfect location, quaint, nice amenities like kuerig coffee maker, mini fridge, balcony facing the water and the best pillows ever.
Rooms were fresh and new. The new hideaway bar on property is a great addition.
I can't wait to go back. Thank you!
- Wendi (10/5): Can’t wait to go back. - Loved going to sleep, listening to the water crashing on the rocks. The view from the room is absolutely breathtaking. The mattress needs to be replaced. They are maybe 3 inches thick and the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I do not know if I would’ve made it on that bed. If the beds were replaced, this would be a perfect fiber star review.
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- bernardm912 (10/5): Always a 5 Star! - My wife and I have stayed here since 2015, and it remains as one of our absolute favorite places to stay. Not only is our stay always most relaxing, but the local restaurants are fantastic, and in a very short walking distance so a cocktail or two can really be enjoyed. The owner, Kyrstal, and Olivia, her general manager are just a pleasure to talk to, and our room is impeccably clean and the perfect ambiance. Can't say enough great things about this location. Even made our reservations for 2025.
- Maureen (9/5): Came back to visit my hometown. - Did not realise breakfast was provided just loved the view and being next-door to that nice little restaurant was perfect Lol Providing water in the room would be nice
- GoGatorsWayne (10/5): Outstanding location and service - Stay Here! - This is the perfect hotel for a romantic getaway. The rooms all overlook the ocean. It was wonderful to sleep with the windows open and hear the waves lapping over the rocks. The rooms all are right on the water. This a charming and fantastic location. The walk to nearby shops and restaurants is super convenient.
The rooms are immaculate and tidy. The staff is warm, caring and eager to make sure your stay is the best it can be. You also get a guaranteed parking space, which is like getting street parking in Manhattan. This was more than a stay. It was a memorable experience. Best of all was the staff who made us feel we were the only guests in the world. They have done a fabulous job with this motel.
The bad, if there is any, is that getting to or from the motel in the daytime is a challenge. You are basically driving down a street that is the equivalent to a crowded sidewalk. It was difficult. Also, the motel now has a deck bar next door, which we found could get loud, but was not a terrible distraction and was not open much past dark. The rooms are compact, but nothing you wouldn't expect for such a great location. The only thing we did not like about our room was the bed was not the greatest. We only include the "bad" to show you our review is real. We love this place, have already told many friends to go there, and we cannot wait to return.
- Tarah (10/5): - The property location was great. Our room was nice- great bed/pillows. The back balcony was really nice to sit back and relax at. Very helpful- we went to the office and they gave us a couple dinner suggestions.
- Greg (10/5): RockPort - I recently stayed in a charming, albeit very touristy, location boasting some of the most spectacular ocean views. This quaint getaway features just 8 apartments, all of which face the ocean—mere 10 feet away from the water at high tide! It's a truly serene experience to watch the wildlife swimming right before your eyes.
The area is bustling with activities, and there's no shortage of stores and restaurants to explore. For a scenic treat, I highly recommend taking a drive towards Gloucester. The route is lined with stunning properties owned by the affluent—a sight to behold!
For the best experience, try to book a room on the second floor; the elevated view of the ocean is simply unbeatable. I'm already looking forward to extending my next stay here. It's a perfect spot for anyone wanting to soak in coastal beauty and local culture.
- Barnes (10/5): Best place to stay in Rockport - Everything Not a thing, it was pretext
- William (10/5): - All
- Niehuser (10/5): One of my favorites -
- Y8696TAanitaw (10/5): Everything was wonderful! - This was our second time staying here and we plan to go back again! Everything was clean, the view was amazing and the owners and office staff were very kind and helpful. We loved being able to walk to all of the little shops.
- traceyrJ2807AM (10/5): Perfect birthday getaway - We planned this stay relatively last minute for my birthday. It really was a Perfect location for a romantic overnight. Wonderful room, beautiful view. Easy contactless checkin. We will definitely be back!
- bokpi (10/5): Breathtaking Views - This Lodge was everything you would expect from the photos, and then some!! The room was clean, the interior was nice and modern, and the view was breathtaking. We booked last minute and Olivia was very accommodating!
- Anonymous (1/5): Worst day of my life - The owners refused to offer any type of a refund when I let them know my dog had died suddenly at the animal hospital and we couldn’t get there for the night that we had paid in full. There are policies and there are people who don’t have a heart.
- iallen127709 (10/5): One if my favorite spots! - We love staying here and are multi year repeat visitors. Excellent location, charming rooms. Staff is wonderful, welcoming and overall make it a good experience to stay here. Everything we want is within walking distance. This is a great motor lodge for a few days of R&R.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Perfect end to a perfect trip - Spotlessly clean, fantastic location Nothing
- Ildiko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bicoastal1 (8/5): Perfect place to stay--right on the water in the heart of the village - Beautiful view, charming room, convenient location, designated parking, pleasant staff
- Alison (10/5): Wonderful location - We loved the location, so close to all the shops and restaurants and with the wonderful verandah looking out over the sea. Although the rooms look slightly bigger in the photos, they were a good size and very comfortable. The contactless check in/out worked well, especially as we had to leave very early in the morning, but was slightly impersonal. The trip to Halibut Point State Park with its dramatic quarry and granite blocks near the sea was outstanding and highly recommended. Nothing
