Guest Reviews
- Larson (10/5): - Everything was very nice except they did not put in that the oil you could eat buffet was there but it was not there it was closed but that's what the website said it was open what they was and all you could be eat buffet on the site but no it was closed Only disappointment was the oil you could eat buffet which would have been so convenient was closed but as I said it was said it was open on the website they should change that it's not open
- Richard (6/5): Adequate, convenient and good for the price. The staff was very courteous. - Room itself was clean and comfortable.
However, the outside appearance of the motel could us some work. Make the motel more presentable from the outside
and serve some sort of breakfast.
- Joseph (5/5): -
- Wilton (1/5): Dissapointed but glad for the incompitence. - Never stayed. Manager spent 45 minutes trying to get computer working. I finally canceled. Could not wait. Very confusing to see a business like this. Glad i did not stay. Bar area where you check was dirty, old and smelled bad.
- celia (6/5): -

- Stacy (1/5): I did not feel safe. door had wooden repairs by the handle. wallpaper peeling off the wallls. Bathtu - No breakfast it was room only. A motel. I did not feel safe. door had wooden repairs by the handle. wallpaper peeling off the wallls. Bathtub had peeling paint. gold heavy brocade curtain that was old was what offered privacy at window. Room was dark and depressing. I did not stay. I checked out the same day and stayed with friends in the area.
I know I am liable forr the night of the 6th, bus as I checked out (AND emailed booking.com) I am hoping for a refund for the night of the 7th.
Local people were shocked that Motell 88 ws on booking.com. I was also very surprised, as previous use of Booking. come has been stisfactory.

- jennifer (10/5): Nice if your visiting kids at one of the colleges up the street - Parking right in front of room-came with fridge, microwave, and maid service -for the $ it was worth it, not to mention it was 5 min from the college Older rooms but it was clean
- Martens (4/5): - Location The price for a dump
- claudia (10/5): - Very nice people very organized very
- Kevin (2/5): Worst place ever! Avoid it at all costs! - The room was the worst I have ever stayed in. It smelled musty, rugs stained, the bathroom was gross. Mold and outdated tub that was peeling. There was no hot water at all in the morning. Too cold to take a shower. The wall paper was peeling back on the walls. I will never stay there again!
- Orellana (10/5): - Love it
- toni (5/5): Rooms are old and run down but clean and no bugs - Price Old decor
- William (8/5): - Very simple, clean, and inexpensive. Staff made special accommodations for us to have a very late check-in.
Worked great for a single night stay before we checked into Cooperstown for week of baseball.
- Leo (8/5): - Decent place close to allstar village and good food nearby cost and convince a plus
- Daniel (10/5): - Great value
- Gaffney (8/5): - We were going to be late and the guy sorted us a lock box for the key which was super handy. Good ac and comfy with drinks maker. You get what you pay for..it is a bit rough like but makes it exciting haha
- lisa (10/5): - It was fine .. clean room .. nice front desk staff
- Damien (8/5): - Parking available outside the room was nice.
- paul (3/5): Would not stay again - Charged me more than quoted on Booking.com. Room clean but many bugs and towels and bed linens not clean
- joe (8/5): - Convince
- Zapata (7/5): -
- Joseph (2/5): - piles of junk outside buildings and near garbage container-staff was very good
- Marion (8/5): - Hotel room was clean Uncomfortable pillow
- Marie (8/5): - The staff were professional and friendly
The room was old but OK
- Sylvain (4/5): En bas de la moyenne - Insonorisé et pratique Les taches sur tapis , le bain taché , le rideau de douche trop court qui fait couler de l’eau au sol
- Mirella (2/5): - One of the beds had fleas.
The rooms were not cleaned daily, every other day.
The floors were very dirty.
The condition of the motel and the rooms were bad.
The room smelled really really bad.
- Melissa (7/5): It was worthy. - It was inexpensive and clean. update the curtain and put batteried in the remote and a working phone.
- Juan (6/5): - Room was clean but there was a strong smell like dirty carpet.
- Brenda (6/5): You get what you pay for - Very small motel. We only spent a night there. Room had a funky smell, bathroom had mold, as well as the curtain in there. No ventilation in the bathroom. I supposed you get what you paid for. I don’t think I would stay there again.
- Kaitlyn (2/5): - Not clean, someone was already staying in our room. unprofessional
- Roberto (6/5): - Property is very dated. Room was ok for the most part. There were some smudges on the wall by the headboard that looked suspiciously like poo. There was also something crusted on the remote control. AC worked well. Bathroom was clean.
- SCOTT (3/5): 2nd worst hotel ever stayed on - Front desk was friendly, everything else is sib standard. You've got a notice dated 1990 on inside of room door for Oasis Spa. How lazy is that?? Laughing my ass offY
- Beth (2/5): - I checked into a smelly lobby. Then drove to the room and saw a dumpster overflowing and surrounded by garbage. I left and found other accommodations.
- Jose (2/5): - The location is very run down and rooms smell pretty bad.
- Josias (8/5): - Dated rooms but great price and clean great hot water and pressure. Staff was very nice. Musty smell as to be expected with outdated stuff. Ac was great no real complaints. Little lovers fighting nothing crazy. You get what you pay for. I liked it. Others might feel uneasy it’s all in the eye of the beholder
- Gail (4/5): - Low budget hotel with NO frills. Lack of black out curtains was problematic. Remotes didn't work with TV (what is that BTW?) Some sketchy long term residents. Best price in area. Convenient locale byt i had car.
- Brian (3/5): Only stayed here because of going to Cooperstown for Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies. - N/A. Location was alright Room was extremely old and dated. Carpet had stains on it. Bedspread had stains on it. Bathroom toilet was ancient. Rust spots on shower rod. Caulking had mold. Door paint was chipped and missing.
- Donna (2/5): - The hotel itself was dirty. The check-in office was disheveled and unclean. The room had a bleached rug. The bedsheets appear to be clean. The mattress actually was comfortable and the pillows were very comfortable, but I woke up to find a huge centipede, crawling down the wall over my head, followed by a huge moth flying around the room. I checked out after one night. I have to say they were nice enough to refund the balance of my stay.
- Paula (8/5): - Close to everything in Oneonta.
Appears to be permanent residence in one out of the way section but no issues at all.
- Daniel (10/5): - This place was awesome, super clean, friendly staff best price around per night and only 4 min away from Cooperstown ASV. May not look the best on the outside but a great place to stay overall. Highly recommended.
- Paul (6/5): - I give this place a good review. It looked liked like dump when I booked it and it was a dump when I got there. I was not surprised, for good or bad. I agreed to a dumpy motel and they delivered. I traveled alone without wife and kids so I was happy to save some money. I would stay again.
- Piotr (3/5): Poor -
- Erik (5/5): Passable -
- Verified traveler (6/5): One night stay - Simple but clean room. Refrigerator was a nice plus. Good location if you are going to Cooperstown All Star Village. Good for one quick night on your way to your next location.
- Matthew (2/5): Want my $ back - Close to CASV Bathroom
- Erin (8/5): - Comfortable beds, clean room & bathroom.
- Jacquie (10/5): A comfortable port in the storm - quiet comfortable No food or washing machine
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (2/5): Pay extra and stay elsewhere - Room smelt like sewer. I had to buy air fresheners to survive the smell. Outdated rooms. Trash everywhere outside. Rooms across from us had a bunch of refrigerators outside and mattresses laying against the wall.
- margaret (8/5): - The place was older and run down but the staff was sweet and very helpful. It was worth price in comparison to others in the region.
- Thomas (10/5): - Clean friendly and cheap. Would definitely stay there again. The turndown service was a nice touch.
- Christopher (2/5): - First, room smells, bed sheets have black insects crawling and hairs. Rat poops under AC. We didnt stay. Check out ASAP. I was told to call in thr morning to speaknto manager. Hopefully tobget refund. I know ibdidnt pay much, but at least clean the room and change bed sheets and pillow cases...
- John (8/5): - Hagsgsgg
- Michael (6/5): Dated motel with 70s decor and a musty smell. - Front desk lady was great. Very personable. Very dated motel, room was from the 70s, bed was okay, lots of carpenter bees along the eves and. Room had a musty smell to it.
- Meyer (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (2/5): - Very surprised that Expedia would have this place on their site. Very sketchy looking. Looks like people live there. Never got out of the car. Just drove away.
- Betty (2/5): - It wasn’t the best and they charged me 60$ more than the Expedia price. They refused to refund the difference as well. As me checking into a dirty room with hair all over in it.
- K (7/5): Good -
- BETTY (8/5): Last minute reservation - The air conditioner was old and made a lot of noise but still worked. The blanket and sheets had stains but were clean but still bothered me. The pillows were flat but luckily, I brought my own. We only stayed for one night so we could see my daughter graduate from college. The beds were comfortable and worked for the night. For the price it wasn't bad.
- Nancy (4/5): - The best thing about this property was the restaurant across the street!
The woman at check-in was super friendly, attentive, knew about the area. She was excellent.
Room and property need a complete update!!!
Outrageous to pay almost $200 for such lack of quality. I imagine price was high due to graduations in area.
- Aimee (7/5): Good - Location close to the College. The outside looks run down and sketchy, but the inside is nice.
Also office not open until 9 am.
- Kathie (9/5): Good night’s sleep - Clean, no-frills, all the necessities Nothing
- Rush (3/5): bad service - it was quite the staff started cleaning my room before check out time while I was out at breakfast and a few items was missing
- John (8/5): - Good basic facility.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reasonably good hotel with clean rooms and quiet surroundings..
- Salvatore (8/5): No bed bugs, clean towels, soap. -
- Angelin (2/5): - Did not like
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Damien (7/5): Clean cosy Great value for short or long term stays. - We stayed overnight while some renovations were being carried out at my home. It was a clean, quiet, and good value for the price. Front desk staff included a friendly and knowledgeable woman who provided excellent customer service.
- Vic (8/5): Very good -
- Cassidy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Seth (6/5): This was an inexpensive last minute booking that served its purpose well. - The hosts were very nice. It was also close to the SUNY campus we were visiting, within 10 minutes.
The water pressure was good.. And the towel’s weren’t scratchy. Unfortunately, I had to watch the end of Freddie Freeman‘s, and the Dodgers, amazing game 1 victory in the World Series on my phone.
The TV was working, but not the cable. Everything timed out so I think the service just needs to be updated to a faster package. In the front office just needs to be tidied up. I don’t know what’s going on there, if there is a restaurant or not.
- Alexa (2/5): It was alright , not bad , not amazing - Bathroom tub wasn't clean.
The water to the shower had like no pressure that it took 20 minutes to get to hot water.
The heater wasn't getting hot
- Constane (6/5): Pleasant - tv had lines in it .. they went in our room and cleaned when we were not there and we didnt want them to . had alot of cash in the room
- Kenton (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (2/5): Do not stay here! - At check-in, there was a dirty hair brush on the counter. The guy behind the desk, didn’t even know it was there. My family and I got to the room and were disgusted. The blankets had stains all over them, there was mold on the ceiling, and the walls were dirty. Needless to say, we ended up not staying there and took a loss, as the hotel does not offer refunds.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pedro (9/5): I was excellent. -
