Guest Reviews
- Eduardo (8/5): - All ok
- Jeffrey (5/5): Passable - Swimming pool Air conditioner wasn’t good enough. Too hot. Only two towels
Given. No wash clothes or hand towels.
- Luis (9/5): Superb - El trato familiar
- Michel (8/5): a 60€ cela vaut la peine - cadre enchanteur, très belle piscine et prix attractif pendant les fêtes de fin d'année
- Marc (10/5): - Endroit calme et personnels accueillants
- Fabrice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabrice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ebenhög (6/5): Pleasant - good outside facilities, with nice sporting activities. the Hotel is located in a very calm area of Abidjan, with good access to the rest of the city sadly no pool access on mondays, had some moschitos in the room. rooms are very simple, but ok for working.
- Marc (10/5): - Endroit calme et bien situé
- Ursula (4/5): Old, dates furniture, unfriendly staff. Nice green space - I liked the garden area and pool Staff were really unfriendly and unhelpful. Very dismissive.
The gym equipment is very dated and a lot of it wasn’t clean. The gym is also really messy, people obviously don’t return equipment properly and no one tidy’s it up.
Since there seemed to be swimming classes or lessons on a lot, I’d say the pool is quite inaccessible for guests.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing - Proximity to town and friendly staff The overall state of the hotel is disappointing.
- James (2/5): Will not be returning. - Good location. Some of the lights in the room didn't work; cleanliness of the room was adequate at best; one of the rooms had a bed with missing slats. There was no bottled water provided in rooms. Loud music belted out from various aerobics classes, which the hotel staff seemed to have no control or no interest in attending to.
This complex has a hotel in name but the management seem to have little interest in providing the services you'd expect of a well-functioning hotel.
- Marc (10/5): - Séjour très agréable
- Tessy (9/5): On a scale of 1-10 i would rate the venue and my stay 7/10. Lovely place for a short stay. - STAFF are very friendly. Claude, David...all very helpful and kind.
the vigil always available to assist where possible
The gym offers a variety of activities (zumba, local dances, aquagym..) The bed could be upgraded
As much as i liked the vibe during the day..on a saturday waking up on noise from swimming gala is not fun.
Breakfast is a little monotonous
- Marc (10/5): - Personnel très accueillant
- Fiona (5/5): Dorm rooms, not a hotel - The staff was friendly and patient with my minimal French skills.
The front desk clerk tried to help me procure an adaptor since i forgot mine at my previous hotel and have all foreign electronics, but he gave up and never came back after making a few calls. This is not a hotel, it is more like a dorm for the sports academy that is run out of here.
I can't emphasize enough that the rooms are basic at best with a large bathroom which appears to be connected to another dorm room but has been locked. The hot water was a mystery to figure out had to walk to the front desk for help as there's no phone to call. The drainage was poor so youre standing in the water, I had to get out when it appeared the water was going to flow over the barrier onto the floor.
There is no mirror in the room (there's one in bathroom) or any other basic Hotel amenities available other than a single towel that was provided.
It is extremely dark with only one dim light available above the bed and a non-functional desk lamp.
My room was on the ground floor with the windows facing the football field and people walking by have direct visibility into the room when I opened the curtains for light to flow into the room.
The restaurant had limited options available when I went for lunch. The attieke I ended up ordering was hard, chewy, and over priced. Beer was fine.
I was told the pools (1 indoor and 1 outdoor) were out of service, but later saw people training in them.
Would I return, absolutely not. Would I recommend, if you're looking for a football academy, why not.
- Yepi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is conveniently located between a main road, a laguna boat transportation station.
Great value for the money, too.
- Shashidhar (5/5): Passable -
- Walid (5/5): Just Ok - Just Ok The hotel could be much better
- Zwelethu (8/5): It was a great say for the money spent. - The food was great.
The people serving me were also very helpful especially taking the effect that they knew little English, but they were very helpful. None
- Sarel (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Fabrice (9/5): Superb -
- Darlington (1/5): Bad -
- Fabrice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yasmine (7/5): Good - The place was realy clean. Small and cozy.
- Okoya (10/5): Exceptional - The receptionist and cleaners where very friendly. Nice breakfast and beautiful secured environment.
- Dina (4/5): Disappointing -
- Awad (9/5): Superb -
- Sanju (10/5): awesome - it was such a nice experience.
Staffs were nice even though English and French was giving really hard time still they took their own time to understand our needs.
- Mohammed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Actually the hotel itself is OK. But the manager is corrupt! He claims that he hasn't been paid by Orbitz in over a year. Insisted that I pay the hotel directly before I could check out, even though Orbitz verified that they paid him. Orbitz still working on getting him to reimburse them (and thus me). I have recommended that Orbitz black list the Hotel Sol Beni, or at least stop listing it on their website.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Annoying place - Every aspect of the stay was an annoying hassle. They wouldn't let my son in the gym, they wouldn't let him exercise near the pool, they wouldn't let us on the soccer field Tacoma they tried to take me back to the hotel to check my billing even though I'd already paid through hotels.com. even signing in to the Wi-Fi aggravating experience.
- Jeffrey (6/5): Has potential but overpriced - The positives:
An outdoor & indoor swimming pool (although there are morning classes going on every day so you won't be allowed in during those times)
A good sized clean gym
Comfortable bed
Negatives:
Saturday morning (8 am) dance classes so loud that you cannot sleep (seriously as loud as a nightclub) and we were not warned about it.
Ladies in the kitchen & outdoor bar area are not only rude for no reason but will scowl at you if you ask them for anything! Free breakfast buffett one morning was just fruit, bread, and coffee. The next morning was just bread and coffee so when we asked for fruit, the kitchen lady came out and actually yelled at us. The women clearly hate their job.
A friend of ours also staying in the hotel did not have a toilet seat and his lights in the bathroom did not work. Whenever we needed to shower we had to call and ask them to turn on the water pressure which got kind of annoying.
Because this is Africa we knew to expect some situations like this but for the price we were paying I don't think it was adequate. The poor service from the women really made it a bad experience, the other stuff we could handle but those women were just plain rude.
Overall, I would say the place has potential but really needs some basic attention to details. Guys at the front desk were kind and helpful to arrange taxis. Would not stay here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel looks bad and the area where it is found is really bad area.
- Ronnie (8/5): - The staff were extremely kind to me. They allowed me to have a late check out because my flight was later on that same day. They were extremely kind and professional. Inrecommend this place etc.
Best,
T. Hammon$
- Verified traveler (4/5): It was verg dirty, no towels, dark and unfriendly - We came at night about 01.00. We saw the hotel, room and service and we decided to leave immediately. The pictures on the website has been fotoshoped or are very old.
- alexis (10/5): - Hotel très propre avec piscine et salle de gym.
Vue sur la lagune.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Confortable stay - This Hotel was very close to my office in Abidjan, staff are nice and attentive, do not expet to walk around, somehow the road is not paved. Gym equipment very good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel. Spacious outdoors pool. Only complain: people at the front desk should speak English
- wyn (10/5): The staff were always helpful and pleasant, - The Hotel was in a peaceful spot it was a very relaxing 6 days
Pool was nice good facilities
If the menu was bilingual it would have been a bonus but we got by.
The food was good but not to much on offer.
- James (8/5): Nice location - Very reasonable hotel a bit of a distance out from a business point of view and nice location. Taxi drivers seem to know it.
- Solofo (8/5): Good spot for sport addicts - Small but comfortable room with all required equipment and amenities. Great service, always listening and smiley staff. Breakfast is ok even if you would prefer not having the frying smell in the dining room. Would enjoy English speaking TV channels. Impressive sports facilities (with first class gym) in and around the hotel. Even the golf course is nearby.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - NOt up to expection
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great if you're into sports - It's a good hotel. Comfortable. I couldn't pay by MasterCard or Visa on my departure for another glitch of some sort. Over here, who knows why.. go with the flow... just be prepared. Facilities are great! Nice pool, nice gym and right beside a sports complex. Restaurant was minimal but not a problem for a night or two.
