• Ingo (10/5): - Sehr liebevoll gemacht, sehr ruhige Vibes und soziale Atmosphäre! Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr gut, wenn auch nicht günstig. Eigene Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten wie eine Küche oder zu Fuß losgehen gibt es nicht.

Great accommodations in cabin for one. Food was a work of art and delicious. Fun games, activities. Loved the sloth in the trees, red frog on the walking path in the jungle hike. 10 out of 10.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Jättebra hotell/hostel. Trevlig stämning bland gäster, sociala aktiviteter och fantastisk personal. Jag bodde i ett privat rum, bungalows som ger lite mer privat känsla. Den enda anledningen till att jag gav en fyra när det kommer till renlighet var för att det var lite fläckar på handdukar och lakan, men allt är rent, men man kanske behöver dubbelkolla att allt är fläckfritt innan man placerar dem i rummet. Men allt som allt, en fantastisk upplevelse!

• Jojanneke (10/5): Heerlijke plek met top personeel en eten - We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad in Bambuda Lodge. Vooral het super vriendelijke personeel en de service die ze verlenen zijn top. Ze zijn heel persoonlijk en kennen je bij je voornaam. Het eten en drinken was ook heerlijk en Instagramwaardig 😊 De kamervoorzieningen zijn basic, maar de plek is prachtig. Beslist een aanrader!

• Alexander (10/5): - Sehr zu empfehlen. Ruhige Lage, läd sehr zum entspannen ein. Absoluter Geheimtipp. Besonders die Volunteers und das Personal war sehr motiviert. Ab Tag 1 wusste jeder unsere Namen, jeder hat jede Frage beantworten können und uns immer geholfen. Programmpunkte (Wanderung, Song Trivia, etc) waren sehr gut.
• Nils (10/5): Séjour formidable - Un séjour formidable. L’emplacement et le cadre sont idéals, entre mer et jungle et à seulement 5 minutes en bateau taxi de l’île principale. Les dortoirs et autres espaces de vie sont propres. La grande terrasse est conviviale. Le staff du Bambuda est particulièrement sympathique et attentionné. Un merci en particulier à tous les volontaires (et plus encore à Hugo et Helwan) qui rendent ce séjour encore plus agréable qu’il ne l’est déjà, notamment par l’organisation d’activités, etc.

The team goes above and beyond to ensure guests have the best possible time. The food was delicious, the rooms were comfortable, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The lodge’s location in Bocas is ideal, making it easy to explore the surrounding area with quick taxi rides. The daily jungle hike is a highlight, offering a chance to immerse yourself in the island’s natural beauty, with a stunning finish at Hospital Point Beach. A huge thank you to the amazing staff—Tiago, Austin, Camila, Melanie, Johani, Shay, Sarlia, Juan, Nundo, Dany, Pedro, Marlen, Mariliz, Maynor, and everyone else—who made my stay so special!
• Theodora (10/5): - Wow!!!!! Just wow!!!! This trip was such an amazing experience from the minute I walked in. I was dropped off with the taxi boat and came off to a beautiful piece of paradise!! I was welcomed with smiles and such kindness. I came on this trip alone but met such beautiful people and was never a dull moment. Andrea, Shari,Silvia,Juan, Joanni , maynor we’re so attentive and made me feel at home on this trip. They made sure we were all having a good time. They created such a beautiful environment here where I felt we were all just part of the same community. I loved the family dinners they coordinated that brought people together with great conversation, good food and fun games. We drank and laughed the night away. The only down side was no Ac but a jump in the pool and a cold beverage is just what you need. the night breeze and fan was just right to sleep comfortably. I was sad to go but will definitely be coming back. Thank you guys again can’t wait to see you again

• Sarah (8/5): - Cool location in the lush jungle with walking paths and warm water! I only lost a little skin on the waterslide, but still so fun! The included hike to hospital point was surprisingly perfect. Nightime underwater glow worms were a trip! I didn’t book this room, but they put me in a sea urchin shaped upsides pool, it was cool. The second night I did get eaten alive by mosquitoes (from under the door and ceiling circle air vent wasn't a perfect closure. Fan was very needed, but still a bit hot one night in Oct, Food was okay, ceviche was the best I’ve had in Panama! All was healthy at least! What an adventure!

• Devan (10/5): January 2022 visit - Charming, secluded, eco-friendly lodge on Isla Solarte. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable! The highlight of the property is the stunning, open bar and check-in/lounge area. The property offers a great mix of social, hostel dorms, and more isolated, solo/couple bungalows, with the ensuing social balance reflective of this. The bar offers incredible views of the water and mainland. Here is where you will find the hostel’s social dining areas, including the property’s family-style dinner offerings. The property itself is a series of structures and bungalows threaded across a wooden walkway in the middle of the jungle. My room, the bungalow located furthest away, is almost completely in the jungle. I would not at all hesitate to return to Bambuda. It offers good accommodation, trip-planning for activities on nearby islands, and thoughtfully-designed common areas. Staff was super friendly and helpful with service and requests. I really enjoyed their friendly and hospitable disposition. Some downsides are that the limited access and meal options on the island can be trying, but should be known or otherwise understood before arriving to the hostel. Nevertheless, this is a most compelling option for those visiting Bocas!
• Yotam (10/5): Great eco lodge - This place is awesome. A short boat right from Bocas town, a cool communal vibe with private bungalows if you want them. Crowd skews young. Bar and pool area are great. Waterslide is fun but dangerous - there's a reason you need to sign the waiver. Food is pretty good though the fact that you have to get your dinner orders in at least 2 hours in advance can be a bummer. Overall a great experience.
• Aurélien (10/5): Cadre de rêve et ambiance tranquille - J'ai utilisé l'adjectif "extraordinaire" plusieurs fois lors de mon séjour pour qualifier le Bambuda Lodge, et plusieurs points le justifient : accès à l'hôtel possible seulement en "lancha" (petit bateau à moteur) ; nature luxuriante dans et autour de la propriété (l'hostel est situé entre la mer et la jungle tropicale), ceci attirant de nombreuses espèces d'oiseaux (colibris, perruches, oropendulas,...) ; superbe piscine avec vue sur la mer des Caraïbes ; constructions privilégiant le bois; chambres confortables à des prix raisonnables (mais le rapport qualité-prix des dortoirs est encore meilleur, et ce d'autant plus si vous avez la chance, comme moi, d'en disposer pour vous tout(e) seul(e) ) ; nourriture de qualité servie chaque jour ; service attentionné, avec une mention spéciale pour Daniel, qui a été impeccable et très gentil avec moi. Quelques points à soulever tout de même : lorsque vous logez au Bambuda, il vous faut prendre une "lancha" pour quelque déplacement que ce soit, hormis la marche allant jusqu'à l'Hospital Point (nord de l'île de Solarte) ; ce premier point induit que vous allez très souvent déjeuner et dîner sur place, ce qui fait considérablement augmenter la note finale. Petite déception pour ma part : malgré mon séjour de 9 nuits, on m'a fait payer 20 USD pour une moustiquaire que j'ai été obligé de déchirer à la fenêtre de ma chambre en pleine nuit (auto-enfermement dehors par inadvertance et personne à la réception à cette heure-là). Dommage...
• Paulo (8/5): Beautiful place. Service needs improvement - Beautiful setting facing the sea and jungle. Rooms are pretty with nice view, clean and quiet. A/C would be good but fan helps. Funny swing to the sea and free yoga classes. Cool environment. Service could be better. Check in made in the same place as restaurant need better coordination. If you ask something different in the menu they won’t do and I think staff should be better and improve customer service. Food is ok. Overall recommend.

• Liz (6/5): - I realize this place is rugged, but I got bed bugs!!!!! It has completely destroyed my experience. I knew I was getting bitten and was ready to roll with the ruggedness. But What I couldn’t understand why the mosquito spray wasn’t working. I was literally dousing myself in the stuff. I now see that my room had an infestation. I have the tell tell signs of 3 bites in a line or a triangle pattern. I’m sooo disappointed!

The jungle cabins are luxurious yet still have that “in the jungle” feel- and make for great instagram shots!! Only (slight) negative was that it’s a little pricy. • Philip (10/5): Great location and atmosphere - We stayed in the jungle bungalows (ours was the furthest one from reception) which are made of fibreglass and so allow you to hear all the sounds of the surrounding jungle esp at night, which was fantastic. The bungalow was spacious with a small private balcony which was great to sit on and take in the views. The food in the restaurant was exceptional with a good choice including vegetarian and vegan. We were worried because we are 60 and arrived with normal suitcases instead of backpacks, but we did not feel out of place and found that everybody was very friendly and talkative. Don't miss the Jungle Trail which takes you into a whole new world and don't miss the bright red tiny frogs and birds! One thing to be careful of is your bill, as everything is put on a tab, and we found a few items which were wrong and which were then removed. Enjoy!!
• Sjors (10/5): Prachtige locatie en fijne sfeer - Locatie, gebouw, zwembad, samen eten, vriendelijk personeel. Alles was top behalve het uitchecken, bij veel mensen stonden er onjuiste dingen op de afrekening en omdat er maar 1 tablet is duurt het uitchecken extreem lang.

• Ute (10/5): Chilliges Hipsterhotel - Wir hatten eine richtig tolle Zeit in der Bambuda Lodge. Die Atmospähre ist super, ein richtig schickes HipsterHotel; das Publikum war bunt gemischt; man kann chillaxen, schwimmen, schnorcheln, rutschen;-) oder mit Gummistiefeln auf dem JungleTrail wandern. Haben dort sogar Faultiere und rote Frösche entdeckt. Weg kommt man nur per Wassertaxi. Es werden kostenpflichtige Ausflüge angeboten. Das Essen v.a. das Abendessen ist toll und die PinaColada auch. Am besten ihr nemmt euch genug Bargeld mit da mit Kreditkarte 3% extra zahlt. Auf Essen und Getränke kommen noch Steueren hinzu. Schaut mal auf der Website.

• Moritz (8/5): 2 nights in Bambuda - Wir hatten eine schöne 'Hütte' mit Meerblick zu zweit. Am Pool und im Gemeinschaftsbereich war immer recht viel los. Meine Meinung nach passt die Mischung aus Hostelgästen und den Leuten bzw den Preisen in den privaten Hütten. Das Abendessen ist besser als mittags, allerdings sind Fischgerichte oder ähnliches immer zu schnell vergriffen.
• elaine (8/5): Lovely hotel. - I would only recommend staying for 1 or2 nights. There is very little to do from that location unless you wish to pay! We really enjoyed our stay but thought it was over priced for the standard of room we were in which was a private room. The shared dorm were very good value.They say it's a hostel but they don't have kitchen facilities.

• Salvatore (2/5): PESSIMO! Un ostello con i prezzi da Hotel - Orribile esperienza, zona completamente infestata da zanzare e citra (dei moschini più fastidiosi delle zanzare) che ti divorano. Struttura da ostello con i prezzi da hotel, servizi inesistenti, personale maleducato e poco professionale, per quanto riguarda il mare di fronte alla struttura è in realtà una laguna melmosa con l'acqua torbida e marrone. Noi abbiamo preso una camera con bagno privato al costo di circa 100 USD a notte...uno schifo, senza finestre e con persone che passano davanti, il bagno con una doccia ricavata assemblando delle lamiere ondulate dei tetti,e una gettata di cemento lercio per il pavimento, e nemmeno funzionava perchè non arrivava l'acqua. Cibo poco e caro, con una simil cameriera antipatica e maleducata. Insomma per quello che costa c'è molto di meglio. EVITATE !!

Daher kann man nur dort Essen und Getränke kaufen oder für 5 Dollar auf der Hauptinsel. Und das auch nur zu festen Zeiten. (ABEND)Essen war super lecker. Der angepriesene und Hotel eingeben Wanderweg beherbergt Krokodile die unerwartet aus dem Sumpf hüpfen auf die Gäste. Gewarnt wurden wir nicht.in den 4 Tagen wurde unser Appartement nicht einmal gereinigt.frische Handtücher gab es mir 1 mal auf Nachfrage. Alles in allem sehr abgewohnte Appartements. Preis Leistung hat uns nicht überzeugt

Everything from the nice, professional and informative staff, to the beautiful landscape where the lodge/hostel was located, to the incredible and delicious family style dinners! If you are visiting the Bocas Del Toro region and need somewhere beautiful, comfortable and affordable to stay, I would highly recommend you stay here at Bambuda Lodge on Isla Solarte! :)

Super gutes Essen zu guten Preisen. Ein Hostel für Leute die das Besondere suchen, kein Partyhostel. Eine unbeschreiblich schöne und entspannte Atmosphäre zum chillen. Tolles Team.

There seems to be a good 20-something social scene around the swimming pool, bar and nightly dinners. My girlfriend and I are in our 30's and 40's and it felt a bit young and hippy for us. It's more of an upscale hostel with nice nature, pool and kayaking. The nightly meals are simple and pretty good. No beaches nearby though, you have to call for a boat to come pick you up, which is fairly easy, takes about 15 min and costs $5 per person. They will take you to one of the nearby islands with beaches or better restaurants, etc
