- NHIN (10/5): The host can organized the Yala National Park safari with a very reasonable price. - I had a wonderful stay with my family at this hotel. The hotel was spotless, beautifully maintained, and located in a great area.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The host was very friendly and responsive, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.
.The host had organized for us the Safari of Yala National Park with a very reasonable price. Don't need to look for a travel agency or others agents for the tour.
We truly felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant experience. Everything was absolutely PERFECT

- Elda (10/5): - Thank you so much!! , it has a good location and the owners are very nice.
- Sharma (10/5): - Nihal is a gem
- Beatriz (8/5): - The good side of it is the owner, he was lovely. It was a small room with barely any natural light, and no air condition. However, it worked perfectly for us as we were staying only 1 night, but it was way too small for 3 people.
- Kulathilaka (8/5): -
- Fabrizio (6/5): -
- Josu (7/5): Correcto - El propietario es muy simpático y te ayuda en todo lo referente a el safari de Tala, transportes y consejos de turismo.
- Margreet (7/5): - De bedden waren goed. Ziet er van buiten mooi en gezellig uit.
Vanaf locatie safari geregeld.

- Vincenzo (6/5): No frills hotel, good if you have no expectation other than not sleeping on the floor - The owner is a really nice, kind and helpful person. And this represents the only plus of this hotel, along with the low price. But in hindsight I would have preferred to spend a bit more for something better. I find it hard to understand how it can have such a high rating. Basically, you get an empty room with only the beds. No wardrobe, no television, no bedside table, no sheets (just the mattress cover). Bathroom barely acceptable. Very noisy air conditioner. Overall, a rather sad and cold environment. I would have appreciated reading something like this before booking.
- Venturi (8/5): -
- paolo (8/5): Soggiorno confortevole e proprietario molto gentile. - Molto accogliente e ben tenuta Letto cigolante.
- Mirko (9/5): Superb - The room is nice and the breakfast is very good! I recommend to organize a full day safari at Yala National Park with them. I did it, and was great
- Tomas (8/5): Very good - Perfect for a night before heading out to yala. Confortable, but no ac in the room. Hot shower. Very nice and helpfull owner.
- Emily (8/5): Very good - Good value for money, clean , nice e room Make sure you book with air con.
- Dvst (8/5): Very good -
- Rosie (9/5): Clean and comfy with great staff - Large comfy beds, clean and in a great location. Staff very nice and helped us get out tuktuk on the road again when it wouldn’t start - thank you! The AC wasn’t working (although the fan was)
- Elida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oldřich (4/5): We were given different rooms, the photos don't match, the wifi didn't work, there were extremely ma -
- Lee (8/5): A quiet place in a good location for both town and country. - A pretty good place to stay in Tissa. Location particularly good. Exit the property and turn right for a 15 minute walk into town. Turn left for a 10 minute walk into the rice fields. Sunrise and sunsets to be seen from there. The room was very good. Aircon was quiet and there were no outside disturbances.Bed and pillows comfortable enough. Bathroom basic but ok. Host Nihal was friendy and helpful and organized transport for us on a number of occasions including a safari. He is also a very good cook and we loved his Jack fruit curry. Nothing. Everything was to our needs.A quiet place
- Dahl (9/5): Great stay! - The host was lovely and made us really nice Sri Lankan food. The host arranged everything for the safari trip and was very helpful! This hotel is very good value for the money and we recommend it!
- Durden (10/5): greta stay here! - owner was very lovely and organised our trip
- Barbara (8/5): Very good -
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional - The place was very clean beds were comfortable. Nihal the host was really lovely he cooked us a delicious Sri Lankan dinner and the breakfast was good too. I would recommend this place if you are looking to book Yalla Safari this can be done through Nature Resort. Nothing all was good
- Leanne (5/5): Passable -
- Van (9/5): Very good! - We enjoyed our stay at Nature Resort, Yala Safari village. Our room was very clean, the beds are soft and the ventilation is great. The owner is very friendly, he is very hospitable. He helps you with everything and he offers coffee or tea in the morning! This man is really a sweetheart! The safari in the National Park can be arranged through the owner, you will be picked up at the resort. The WiFi range was very good downstairs, but sometimes less good in the rooms upstairs.
- Thakur (8/5): Over all comfortable host was nice - Very close to city Lizards and mosquitoes
- Zhengxi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trocino (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Spotlessly clean, in a great location walkable to main things in town and amazing value for money. Colourful and tidy. Super lovely guy running the place. I did a safari tour through the hotel, with Prasana - he was great
- Orkun (10/5): Exceptional - This is one of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka: Very helpful owner, very comfortable room: big beds, good mosquito nets, clean bathroom, clean bedsheets, enough pillows, big windows, dark & quiet at night.
Every morning we received fresh fruits (from the garden) and coffee.
Shops, busstation, restaurants, ... all in walking distance.
We btw like it so much that we extend two more nights. The wifi is very weak and there are a lot of mosquitos at the patio
- Nilumshan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nischal (10/5): Peaceful stay, well maintained - The rooms were very spacious. The bathrooms were well maintained. The person who was attending to us was really helpful. The place is a 10min walk from a few restaurants and convenience stores which was great. We also got towels for everyone in the room At night there could be a lot of insects that will get attracted to the lights so make sure you keep your doors closed.
- Bharatha (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - Excellent value for money.
Packed breakfast very early for Yala trip.
- Prabodha (8/5): Very good -
- Suzanne (8/5): Very good - Good value hotel for a quick pit stop to visit Yala National park, big breakfast and lovely view from 1st floor rooms over looking the paddy fields.
- Jose (9/5): Excellent accommodation but care with safari booking - The room was big, both beds had mosquito nets and were comfortable. The room was hot but the ventilator kept the room at good temperature. The toilet was also good.
The area was calm and quiet.
Really good price-quality The host asked me 2 days before my arrival if I wanted to book the safari with them for $60. I confirmed this so I didnt arrange anything on my own. When I checked in the hotel (7pm, which is kind of late for Sri Lanka), they informed me that in the end there was no safari booked as it was low season and they could not find any jeeps available for sharing. They told me I may need to go privately which was significantly more expensive.
I declined this and complaint, however said I would not book something private with them. Without them knowing, I contacted someone else online that offered me the whole safari shared for $100, so there were clearly spots available.
An hour later, the hotel did contact me to let me know the safari had now been arranged as previously agreed - I ended up going with them as it was cheaper. The safari was good, and the room was excellent, but the way they handled my safari reservation was poor (and dodgy)
- Butwell (10/5): Great stay - Our host was amazing, deffo recommend Nothint
- Samuel (8/5): Great stay. - Had trouble at first with staff saying booking didnt go through so had to contact hotels via X to sort out. The one staff was a great guy, so freindly and helpful, i was in the area to visit national park and he arranged this for me. Only problem with hotel is internet did not work, and no phone reception in that area either.
- Cameron (10/5): Great value for money! - The owner was extremely kind to us. Made sure we were ok and even delivered some fruits to our room he'd grown himself! The safari was amazing too, picked straight up from accommodation and saw masses of animals ☺️
- Nicklas (7/5): Good -
- Mihael (9/5): Superb - The stuff was really friendly and helpful and the room was very nice although a bit smaller. The lobby and other facilities were also very comfy and clean. We really enjoyed our short stay and can recommend it to others. The water pressure in the shower with the heater was so low that we had to use the "old" shower with cold water only, but in the heat outside that was not really a problem. The internet connection could also benefit from increased speed...
- Joanna (10/5): Wonderful stay and an incredible owner! - I highly recommend staying at Nature Resort. It is conveniently located (and the views are gorgeous), the rooms are nice, spacious and very clean (so is the bathroom). The owner is such a warm, friendly, helpful person - he definitely is the reason why I think Nature Resort is exceptional. He helped us arrange a safari (highly recommended to do it via the owner!), prepared some snacks and coffee for us in the morning and juice when we came back. He was always there, smiling and ready to help. One of my best stays in Sri Lanka!
- Journey31299523595 (10/5): Great Yala safari and lovely hotel - Fantastic Yala Safari and great little hotel! We had a great time staying here - and went on a great Jeep safari with Pasanna organised through the hotel. The whole family (2 teenage boys) were totally enthralled by the safari and would totally recommend Pasanna! We went on the full day safari (starting at 430am … totally worth the early start to be the first in the park!!) - which allowed a full day of immersion and a slightly more relaxed pace. (The half day safaris seemed much less relaxed…). Pasanna the driver/ guide has over 13 years experience in the park, had great 4wd drive skills, clearly knew all of the possible routes in the park - and was passionate about showing us all that was possible in the park! He was excellent at spotting hard to see animals!
Note that all jeeps have to have 12-2 as rest time in the park …. We easily passed it having lunch and reading books- when the jeeps are not allowed to drive around) .
We managed to see a great selection of animals including 2 leopards (which I hear is very rare), multiple families of elephants with their babies which we were able to watch for an extended period of time, water buffalo, deer, samba deer, mongoose, jackals, monkeys, peacocks, lots of amazing birds, crocodiles, monitors and bats. It truly felt like the jungle book. We got home tired, but truly satisfied with the experience! Definitely felt like it was value for money.
- Anna (9/5): Great hotel and fantastic safari! - Great friendly hotel. The manager is fantastic and will go out of his way to help you. The rooms are spotlessly clean (as is the hotel) and it is located in a quiet location 5 minutes walk from town. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again. Additionally the safari we organised through the hotel with Pasanna was fantastic - the early morning start was totally worth it and we were first through the gate when the park opened. Pasanna was highly knowledgeable with fantastic 4wd skills and enabled us to see a great selection of animals (we even saw 2 leopards which I hear is rare, 3 different families of elephants all with babies, as well most of the other animals that are in the park). We chose a full day safari (every jeep spends 12-2 having lunch and resting…bring a book) - which enabled us to be a bit more relaxed and made the whole day super enjoyable! Highly recommend this safari!
- Taras (7/5): Yala park hotel - The hotel is near the Tissa center, cafe, local reservoir and temple. Host could organize safari. There is parking place and garden. The breakfast was small and not delicious (several fruits, local bread, water). It was rainy time and were roof leaks above the bed. The double bed was small.
- Jasmin (10/5): Amazing stay with cooking experience - This place was amazing. Nina’s give us all the good advices! He recommend and organized a half day safari. It was amazing. We saw all the animals in the park.
After the safari he prepared lunch for us and showed us how to cook an eggplant curry in a simple way. It was delicious and cheap as well! He helped us to get to the bus station and explained in a really good way how to get to our next destination. Thanks you for your help and your kindness
He is a great host! I will come back again
- Léo (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect! The host was super kind and nice with us. He cooked a wonderful meal for us, everything was perfect 🤩 We also booked a safari with the hotel and it was a really good safari, well organized and at a really good price. Thank you for everything ❤️
- Leia (9/5): Superb - Nice host, quiet location, clean room, air con, hot water (though the pressure is quite low). The host made a delicious vegetarian dinner for 900 lkr. I can’t fully recommend the safari with this hotel though. The driver/guide was super nice and punctual, stopped to show us various animals on the way. But it was uncomfortable to ride his jeep in the front seat in the rain. The roof was leaking and all cold water poured on my feet. The driver tried to fix the problem, but to no avail. I sat the entire safari with wet and cold feet. I had a raincoat, but it didn’t help as the water poured right on my feet. Unfortunately, there were no other seats available in other rows as the car had 4 other stranger people sitting in middle and back rows who also booked the safari (the car is a 6-seater Bolero, 3 rows of seats). So I think the safari with this hotel is good on a sunny day, but if it’s raining - be ready to seat with wet and cold feet for the entire safari.
- Matjaz (9/5): Superb -
- Xiaobo (10/5): Exceptional - A very beautiful small house, also very close to the city area.
- Zakiya (6/5): Pleasant - Customer Service Lacks cleanliness
Power cut the following morning
- Aleksei (7/5): Good -
- Dannie (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very attentive and made sure we were happy throughout our stay. He also helped us arrange a safari to Yala which we both really enjoyed and gave us some good advice about the local buses. The setting was lovely from the garden to the rice fields opposite. We were both very happy with the room and the bathroom was spacious. Another positive was the short walk to the local restaurants.
- Elodie (10/5): - Awesome property and owner. The person was so nice. He saved the day and we slept through our alarm in the morning, and gently knocked on our door to make sure we were not missing out on the safari.
He even gave us bus tips to get to Ella in the evening. And we had a lovely chat with him in the afternoon on his veranda while staying cool from the sun. He’s a great guy and very caring for his guests. Very highly recommend this place!
- Manaiadysart (10/5): Stay for yala nationalpark - Absolutely a wonderful stay. We booked very last minute but just called to him and he made sure we had everything we needed for our trip to yala. We called the day before and he set up everything with the safari and made sure we had a room. He also made sure we had take away breakfast to eat on our way! Also the room was very nice and perfect for us with ac and nice bathroom!
- Andreas (10/5): - Sehr freundliche und zuvor kommende Gastwirte
Immer wieder gerne
Ist zu empfehlen
- 496kra (2/5): Pathetic customer service - Worst place I have stayed ever! I will not recommend this place to anyone. Arrogance of the staff is something irritated us the most. We stayed in 5 hotels during our vacation in Sri Lanka and all were good in terms of hospitality and facility. But this one was different. They don’t value their customers. All our hotel bookings done through agoda and all went well except this. They didn’t even helped us with our luggages and when we requested to help to take one of our bags to the room in the first floor, the staff ridiculed us. Arrogant people. Avoid it!
- GuyG1217 (2/5): The worst place in SL - This is absolutely the worst place in all of SL.
we arranged with the owner all the details of the rooms, included hot water and a/c but after we did check in we tried to use the shower and the owner ask for more money to get hot water and the same story about the a/c.
the place also look like they never clean the room and smells like the wall get wet.
- 393vaneb (10/5): Great natural Place - Nice Place. Very friendly Owner. We had a Room in the second floor with a great view. All very Green and natural. New and clean big Room. The Owner was cooking for us Chicken Curry for Dinner and in the morning Rotti, with very good Coffee. This Was the best food in Sri Lanka we had. Highly Recommended. Organized a Great Safari Tour with a very good Guide! Thank you
- 769ruthg (4/5): Clean but that is overcast by the inhospitably and deceit - This property may look clean and spotless but that's about the only thing it's got going for them.
Before we had even put out bags down, we were being pushed to buy a safari. We arranged for a morning safari from 04:30 - 12:00, along with others from the hotel. We were very excited to go on this trip, with the possibility of seeing elephants, leopards, bears and more. However we were left bitterly disappointed. Myself and my partner have done over 20 safaris, around Asia and Africa and without a doubt you will always be able to see an elephant because they are the easiest animals to track (they have elephant corridors which they go up and down at the same time throughout the park each day). Now on this trip, we didn't see even one elephant!! Nor leopard or bear. All we saw was monkeys and water buffalo. We don't blame wildlife for this, but the fact we were sold an incredibly inexperienced keep Safari and driver who failed in multiple areas:
1) the drivers were very young an inexperienced
2) no English speaking at all
3) no guide - the guide was asleep
4) unsafe - at one point the wheel of the jeep was in one of the steps into the crocodile infested water and could have easily tipped
Now it wasn't just us that thought this, everyone else we spoke to on the safari also thought this. Everyone went to the stage of suggesting other safaris that they could go on instead.
We had also changed the dates of our stay a few days before and had written proof of this on booking.com messaging service but when we got there they claimed 'they didn't know if we were turning up' and only gave us a very small 2 single bed room as that's all they had, when we had booked a standard double bed room. They will also try and squeeze very penny out of you, with having to pay an extra 1500rps for the air conditioning remote and I had booked our room with breakfast and he told me they didn't do breakfast - so I literally had to pull out the confirmation and make a massive fuss so that we would have our breakfast provided, like was advertised.
Sri Lanka is one of the most hospitable, friendly and genuine country we have ever been to but The Nature Resort shatters that and we would not recommend anyone to stay.
- iaink2013 (10/5): Family Room - great lunch! - We stayed in a great family room - 2 doubles and a single bed with air con (3 children aged 15, 14, 11). Lovely view from balcony, perfect for relaxing after safari. No extra frills but clean and very comfortable.
The manager was extremely helpful from the moment we arrived, bringing us water when needed, carrying our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs and fixing a small problem with the air con.
Best of all was the rice and curry lunch which we enjoyed on return from safari. We agreed this was the best meal so far in Sri Lanka.
- olatzsarasola1 (8/5): Nice experience - We stayed at Nature Resort for one night. We loved their hospitality. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. It is good located near the town in a relaxing area. We booked the safari trip in Yala National Park with them and it was very easy. After the safari they let us have a shower after the check out time.
Definitively, good price quality deal.
- rosejhsrilanka (6/5): OK- Wouldn't stay again - We stayed for 1 night as we had an early start to get to Ella on the 6.30 am bus the following morning. On arrival the manager was keen to up sell safari and when we explained we had already done one and would be leaving early morning to get the bus he said there was no direct bus to Ella and we should get a tuk tuk for more than triple the price. We were adamant about getting the bus (which we knew did in fact exist) and he then said we should take a tuk tuk from the hotel in the morning. We agreed for 150rupees. The bathroom window did not lock or close and was big enough for someone to climb through had they wanted to. The stay was ok but not somewhere we would choose to stay again
- jpaulusa (10/5): Very nice stay - My room at the Nature Resort was very clean and modern and was sealed tight so there were no mosquitoes. The manager, Dushantha, was very helpful throughout my stay. It is a short walk from the bus station. I had a very restful stay and felt very relaxed. Great value for the money. I would definitely stay there again.
- megsd23 (2/5): Staff tried to squeeze every bit of money from us - From the moment we arrived the staff (an older man) tried to squeeze every penny out of us. Hardly put our bags down when he was trying to sell us a safari, we had already booked one and he was visibly displeased at this and shouted down to other staff that we had already booked. We were starving upon arrival and he offered lunch, and made it seem like they only had curry on offer.. we later discovered there was in fact a menu he did not show us. The curry was more expensive thing on offer. He then tried to get us to agree to dinner and again, was visibly annoyed that we declined. The staff stared at us whenever we were in a public area including when eating, it was so uncomfortable to feel your every move was being watched. I was taking tablets at one stage and the man commented on me taking medicine and tried to get me to buy a bottle of water - this was unbelievable, using my not feeling well as an oppurtinity to make money.
The room was clean until i went to bed and discovered bugs in the bed and the droppings of bed bugs. Absolutely horrific! Made for a sleepness night.
They also added a service charge to our already overly expensive lunch, we are guests in your home.. surely that is not necessary and there was no service.
Honestly do not stay here, the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bugs on bed and rude opportunistic staff - From the moment we arrived the staff (an older man) tried to squeeze every penny out of us. - thorleifh2018 (10/5): Backpacking - This is a really nice hotel, very cheap and It has a nice location. The owner is really nice and and is always ready to help. The hotel itself is very clean and nice and the same goes for the rooms. A great place
- AlyshaE12 (6/5): Very mixed opinion - I genuinely feel conflicted as I write this because there were some really nice things and some... really not nice things. We were able to book our room at a huge discount, so that took a lot of sting out of the unfortunate things. As soon as we showed up the host (owner?) started trying to sell us on a very expensive Yala tour- before we even went to our room! After we told him we're really not interested in Yala right now he showed us to a room that was not what my booking said- I booked an economy double, he took us to a room with three beds and no windows. After that, he gave us a "free upgrade" to a room with one double bed, a twin bed with a private bathroom. Okay, cool. We took the "upgrade," but what got under my skin was that he kept saying that if he gives us the better room, we give him a good review..... not really how that works, guy. Well, we were hungry so we went downstairs to order some food and I saw macaroni and cheese on the menu- PERFECT!! I was in need of some comfort food (had some really bad events earlier in the day), so that seemed like the perfect thing. No joke, we got cold noodles with a slice of sandwich cheese on top- think Kraft singles. Forgiven it because it was kind of funny and it's not exactly a common dish here. Unfortunately, most of the food tasted like it had come out of a box. The coffee is pretty good, though, and you can order it by the pot instead of just cups. We ate and asked about A/C. Well, you have to pay extra to use the A/C in the A/C room....1500 rupees extra per day. Ugh, fine. And then the wifi- even if you are sitting right next to the router you are lucky to get anywhere online. An average page takes forever to load, if it doesn't time out. And forget using it in your room. It's not gonna happen.
The owner was often kind of pushy, and something about him made me really uncomfortable. I never could put my finger on it, but there was something that set me on edge. One of the housekeepers was pretty rude as well. Blatantly talking about me with me sitting less than 10 feet away. How to I know? Pointing at someone, staring at them, and talking is usually a pretty good indicator.
All that said, the room itself was wonderful. The A/C worked very well and it had a great view (we were on the fourth floor). The room was clean and well maintained and the bed was magnificent! I slept like the dead both nights we were there. It was also pretty quiet for the most part, so we were able to relax whilst in our room.
So even though my rating makes it sound like this place is awful, it's really not. It is close to some really cool tourist sites and the room that we had was really nice, but be prepared for some hard attempts to sell Yala safari trips as soon as you walk in.

Very pretty villa on two floors placed right next to a small rice field. Another much larger is located right in front which unfortunately leads to mosquitoes at night. Remember to close your windows and your door before the night otherwise you will be entitled to bites. The food is quite generous but the service is very long and prices much more expensive than in Negombo. Three times more expensive for fries as an example. The bedroom is comfortable and has two medium sized beds with a desk with an ice and a small drawer and a chair to work on your computer or tablet. No free bottle of water but two small soaps for the bathroom. Take the room with hot water as it is cool at night. They all have hot water and air conditioning but the manager disconnects them if you have not paid the package for what is normal. The manager does his job properly but is not very smiling. I stayed three days instead of two days because the mattress is really comfortable. But mosquito nets are not suitable for this type of bed. It should be remedied.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - in the hotel booking confirmation it says room I booked have A.C. but when I reached hotel they said they offer hotel.com price for no A.C. room.
- sudathm2017 (10/5): Excellent service - Customer service is excellent and Bala is superbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb👌(bala is the caretaker of the place and he's the one who runs the operation there as well) Location is very nice as well
And the rooms are also comfortable
- _Q1948SK (8/5): Clean and comfortable room - The room is clean and comfortable.
Host has prepared take away breakfast for us to go Safari in early morning.
Reasonable price for doing the laundry! (Very important)
Clear air which allow you to see A LOT OF stars at night!
Price of Safari is reasonable, however, we were not sure if the host was willing to look for others to go together in a jeep with the cheaper price...
Anyways, we paid Rs. 10,000 (two people) and went with other four people finally.
- Ashleigh (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice food and hotel
- 24aideenn (10/5): Lovely hotel in ideal location for Yala. - Really nice hotel. Ideal if you are going on a safari in Yala National Park! The owner was so nice to us and even cooked us breakfast when we returned from our safari! Would highly recommend this hotel!
- misssie87 (8/5): Nice start of vacation - This accomodation was our first in Srí Lanka. Kumara was very nice and helpful, arranged for us the transfer from Hambantota airport, the safari, helped us with SIM cards purchase and also gave us some good advice regarding our next plans.
The room was with AC but otherwise very basic and quite dark. The bathroom was not absolutely clean, also with some animals, but it was ok for one night.
- E41NRsarahh (10/5): Favourite place we've stayed in Sri Lanka! - We absolutely loved staying here, our room and the whole hotel was very clean. The owner of the hotel really makes you feel at home, I recommend eating dinner here as it's some of the best food we have had so far! Try the curry! We wanted to book a safari and the hostel owner booked it for us, along with taxi to our next destination and even accommodation, he was really helpful! Lovely rooms and excellent wifi, only a few minutes walk into the town. Really loved our stay and would definitely return!
- jenssorli (6/5): Two days for safari and resting - Fine hotel. Helpful hotel owner, made sure we were having a good time. Was easily set up with safari guides and a car to continue our journey northbound. Also we rented motorcycles to cruise all around when getting restless.
Thanks for shelter.
- Anne Kølner (4/5): Impolite staff and lacking information - The hotel receptionist was very rude. He tried to scam money for everything and got quite offended when I told him I wasn't interested in hiring a private car to Ella from his friend. I checked in around 2 pm and booked the safari with the receptionist. The receptionist failed to mention from 2pm to 10 pm but chose to tell me in a hard voice at 04:30 am that I needed to vacate the room at 04:30 because I wouldn't be back from the safari before checkout so I had to pack my bags at 04:30 in the morning. (The safari said 04:40-10 so I had planned to pack when I got back).
It made it a stressful morning and it made my day less good!
- Kamer (10/5): Great stay! - We had a great stay here! The location is very clean and well situated next to the city center.
The owner was lovely and packed a breakfast for us to take on our safari at 4am.
We really enjoyed our stay and we're lucky enough to see Tissa which was one of our favorite cities that we saw on our trip. I would highly recommend seeing the city before you leave and not just come for the safari!
- pratyushsahay (8/5): Very good stay ! - We had a good stay at Nature Resort. A value for money hotel and the staffs were really courteous and helpful.
I had got the Yala Safari Booking done from the resort itself and they also gave us a 10% discount on the actual rates which was a delight for us.
The manager of the hotel Pushpakumara and the hotel staff Bala were very helpful and prompt in the services and catered well to our needs.
Bala also helped me in the currency exchange and gave a very good conversion rate.
A good value for money hotel with good and helpful staffs and service.
- youngfemale (2/5): Dishonest cheats - do not stay here! - Horrible experience from start to finish. When we arrived, manager told us the room we booked through Expedia was more expensive than listed price and wanted us to pay more. After we showed him the Expedia booking details, he pretended to "upgrade" us to our original booking. He told us that it was a "complimentary" upgrade even through that was what we originally booked. He also tried to hard sell us on his safari tour for exhorbitant amounts (much more than other tours). When we were checking out, he came with a new bill insisting that we pay twice the amount for our room because he had given us an "upgraded" room. We told him to deal with Expedia directly and left immediately.
- Jessica (10/5): Good value option! - We only stayed for the one night to do the Safari the next morning. We arrived late and was greeted by the manager who was also understanding and allowed us to check-out a little later since the safari drop-off is traffic dependent. The hotel is as depicted in the pictures, simple, clean and perfect for the price. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
