Guest Reviews
- Gina (10/5): - This is an older motel....but it has been kept better than most newer ones...room was clean and comfy
No complaints from me
- Michael (8/5): - Clean rooms, nice hot shower, nice staff. Beds a little stiff and dated room style but great one night stay stop.
- Tara (8/5): - Room was clean, bathroom was spacious, beds were comfortable. Price was very reasonable as well. They had a restaurant in front of the hotel, didn't eat there but they were always packed, so i figure the food was good
- Jimmy (8/5): - It was ok. Nothing special.
- Minister Divonta (8/5): - Everything was great!
- Shannon (6/5): - Quiet at night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Worst motel stay. - The sheets are old. The towels were stained. I do thank the receptionist for preparing coffee early as requested. I think it's overpriced. It says breakfast is included but they only have limited fruits, pastries and coffee.
- Erin (2/5): Great if you like bedbugs - When we arrived, the property is definitely less than stellar. However, the staff was very friendly so we gave it a try. That evening, I felt a bug on my neck and inspected it to be a bedbug. I pulled the sheets back and found two more dead bugs we exited immediately. No compensation or apologies offered by the staff.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Very Friendly, Family owned, good prices. Would definitely recommend
- Dana (10/5): - Nice quiet older motel.
- charles evans (4/5): - Termites in bathroom, two units we were in! No coffee in the rooms.
- Kathleen (4/5): - Room smell like mildew
- Rick (10/5): - Blew my expectations right out of the water! In spite of the reviews, I was expecting, based on the outside appearance and location, something cut-rate and riddled with stains, bugs and noisy guests. To my surprise, everything was spotless! A level of clean expected from a property at 4 or 5 times the price was present at Traveler's Choice. While dated, the room was precisely as pictured and described. No stains anywhere, on anything. No signs of insects at all. Easy, friendly and knowledgeable check-in, room to park the obnoxiously long rig I was pulling, ample linens, very quiet, super hot water in the shower and comfortable enough beds made for a great start the next morning.
- Camper24961266392 (8/5): Bargain Lovers Choice - Very nice little locally owned motel. Right off the I-10 in Bay St. Louis, Ms. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. They gave me the scoop on where to go and how to get there. Wi-Fi and cable and two comfy beds in each room. Nothing fancy just clean and affordable which was all I needed. Great seafood restaurant on the property with tasty food and moderate prices. Loved all the adorable kitty cats that they have there, obviously animal lovers because the property is pet friendly for a $10 fee. So bring your kiddies and kitties and give the Traveler's Choice Motel a try when you are in the area. Will definitely stay there again.
- ireatha (2/5): - The advertisement is very deceitful. There were no bars nearby. And the cats were everywhere. Looks like a family own business and they lived there. I didn’t even stay at the hotel because I was scared.
- harry (10/5): - Matched my needs perfectly. No hassle check in. Seafood restaurant on site. PERFECT.
- Kurt (10/5): - The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean, and for the price it was an awesome value. I will be staying there again on the way home. Also there was a restaurant next to the hotel, forgot its name, but they cooked my snapper my way, it was great, and for a great price.
- Hannah (10/5): - Very convenient, right next to a 24/7 gas station/convenience store. Very friendly staff. Room clean and everything in working order. Shower warm and worked well. Coffee in morning with a few snacks. Clean towels every day. Very pleased with experience, especially for price point.
- Marcel (2/5): - After checking the room to much sure thing was tidy, we later learned that the room was seriously unclean and not safe to stay in. It was blood on the sheets and bed, and trash under the mattress. I was completely unsatisfied with my room.
- GINA (10/5): - Staff very friendly and rooms clean the only thing beds were a little hard but other than that great place
- Monica (8/5): Quick stop - We often stay here on our way elsewhere. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is not new or fancy but it feels safe and the price is fair.
- Steven (10/5): Clean and Convenient Motel - Nice and clean and great food at the restaurant. I will definitely stay here again.
- Thomas (10/5): - Nice people, nice Rooms. Area isnt the greatest but I would much rather stay here than down on Hwy 90!
- sloanem118 (10/5): Restful Night - My friend and I came to stay for one night before the witches walk. The only room left was smoking, but it didn’t even smell like smoke! The room was neat and clean, the beds were comfy. We didn’t hear a sound and slept well. The staff was friendly and informative. You can’t beat the rates! 10/10 we will be back!
- Allan (8/5): - Not the best but I would stay there again if in the area, a little older but nice for the money.
- Sylvia (10/5): - The property was very clean and quiet. I was expecting it to be so clean. I normally do not stay in a Motel but it was a last-minute trip and the price was right.
- Colin (10/5): - Nice friendly people
- Nelene (10/5): - I loved the charm of this place, we stopped for a couple of days to visit with my nephew and everything was perfect from the moment we drove onto the property. Very clean and still has the charm of yesteryear. I will go again.
- Debra (10/5): - The rooms were clean, it was quite, and the people were nice and helpful. Also the seafood restaurant was in the same parking lot that is very reasonable and we could easily walk to it. We have stayed there many times and haven't been disappointed yet. We would highly recommend this place and will stay there whenever we can. It is also close to interstate, fishing and more.
- Jason (2/5): Horrid - This place was absolutely horrible. Dirty roadside motel with barely functioning AC and non-functioning phone. To make matters worse, the proprietor bangs on our door and 9:00 AM and after shouting “We are busy.” twice, she enters and see my wife and I naked. After getting up, I call the front desk to find out what was obviously so important as to interrupt a great morning, only to find that the proprietor was concerned that I had “put down on my check in that I drove a blue Mazda CX-5” but she didn’t see it in the parking lot, only a blue Volkswagen. I then pointed out to her that my blue Mazda CX-5 was parked on the end, “I am sitting here looking at it ma’am “.
“Where?”
“The first vehicle in line, right before the black SUV”
“Where?”
“*SIGH* The first vehicle ma’am…”
She then apologizes and reminds us that “Check out is at 11, but if you want to take until 12 that’s fine….”
Will NEVER stay there again and hope other learn from our experience.
- Voyager67743376691 (10/5): Travel medical 🐶 - We are (travel medical people) stayed at Travelers Choice over night. Friendly staff, clean room, quiet cold air conditioning, pet friendly and no problem getting pet deposit back. Will defiantly stay again if we are in the area. They have grab and go breakfast.
- Robert L (8/5): - The property is very old and dated. It’s what you would expect for a small town small business hotel, saving grace for this property is. It was very clean. The bed was very and hard. The air condition worked very well and the property seemed safe when we were there, disappointed that the restaurant was closed on a holiday weekend. Hope the owners and employees enjoyed their Fourth of July weekend. Everybody else was very pleasant
- Ronald (6/5): - Air was good
- Misty (6/5): - Great
- Toni (4/5): - Had to climb up outside staircase with my luggage with scalding hot stair rail.Door did not lock well as it had 1 measly lock. Way too far from town.
- Debra (8/5): - I like that it is right off I10 and not far from fishing and Walmart.
- Randall (10/5): - Simple and quite
- Zachery (10/5): - Every thing was good
- Frank (8/5): - Good value. Clean room. Refrigerator got cold quickly. Microwave worked well and was pretty intuitive to operate. A/C worked great. Lots of channels on TV. Good wi-fi. Walking distance to MacBe's Seafood Restaurant and an Exxon mini-mart.
- Elaine Robinson (10/5): - We were greeted by a very friendly young man - since we were early, our room was not ready, but in no time, we were given the key to the room. The hotel maid welcomed us and told us to call her if we needed anything (very unusual). Our room was spotless, comfortable bed, and everything we needed for a night's stay. Very convenient that a restaurant was on the property (MacBe's), and we enjoyed a delicious meal there served by a very sweet young lady. If we are back in Bay St. Louis, we will definitely stop here for a good night's rest and a wonderful meal.
- Diane (8/5): - Old motel but clean. Close to interstate.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great price and close to a good restaurant. - Great price and it shares a parking lot with a good seafood restaurant. Pros - Price, clean, easy check in, location and friendly staff. Cons - Firm beds and too much air freshener.
- Deborah (10/5): - Very nice checkin and checkout. Quiet area
- Mechelle (10/5): Reasonable Rate and Comfortable - We always try to stay at Traveler's Choice Motel when staying in Bay St Louis. The rate is reasonable, the bed is comfortable, it is clean and we feel safe when we stay there. The building has been updated since our last visit. The check in has always been a pleasant experience and will stay there again when in the area, if there is a room available.
- tara (10/5): - Clean room and convenient location. Quiet even though close to interstate. Restaurant next door has great food. No issues.
- KEITH (8/5): 1 NIGHT STAY - WAS A CLEAN ROOM AND MEET OUR NEEDS FOR A 1 NIGHT STAY.A DINNER ON THE PROPERTY AND GAS STATION CLOSE
- Antonio (10/5): - Good place to stay for the night. Had all the conveniences that I required.
- Nancy S. (8/5): - Bed was hard.
- Ernesto (10/5): - .
- cynthia (10/5): - Very nice people. Room was clean and seemed recently painted in relaxing colors. Restaurant excellent. Great value overall. I would stay here again.
- Jessica (10/5): - The restaurant next door and gas station.
- Tomi (10/5): - Very clean, quiet, safe, and friendly. Great price. Has a scrumptious seafood restaurant with in 50 ft. We will be back
- Michael (10/5): - Convenient, very clean, family owned, friendly and enjoyable stay.
- missy (10/5): Great place, we've been here 2xs - The staff was super friendly. The room was very clean with a fridge and microwave. Very close to highway so didn't have to go far out of the way. There's a seafood restaurant on the property! And down the street is the beach.
- Bruce (10/5): - Check in was smooth, very friendly staff. Room was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay again.
- Tony (8/5): - It served our needs comfortably.
- Debra (10/5): - Nice seafood resturant in same parking lot
- Luther (10/5): - The staff was really nice and I had a lot of room to put my boat
- Shelly (8/5): - It's a nice local establishment. Very basic, but clean and in good working order. The beds were squeaky and hard, but the pillows and bedding were good. There was a nice power strip for charging devices, as well as a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast consisted of coffee, fresh mandarins, granola bars, and an assortment of baby pastries - as the front desk staff explained it: "a breakfast snack." You're meant to take it back to your room. The seafood restaurant that shares the parking lot is a great place for dinner, and the beach that's just 15 minutes down the road is free and uncrowded. I wouldn't want to spend more than a night here, but it's a viable inexpensive option if you're passing through.
- Minglong (8/5): - No breakfirst is provided but some snacks.
- Leticia H (8/5): - Easy access I liked.
A bit loud I didn’t like.
- Jeannette (8/5): - Friendly staff at check in.
Convenient location.
Property is aged but very clean.
- Jack (8/5): - A clean inexpensive site, very close to the interstate and convenient to the beach cities.
- Gregory (6/5): Basic stay - the price was right - This place was okay. The price was probably about $20/night cheaper than anything else in the area, but in hindsight, I would probably just choose to spend the extra money. I chose it because it was reviewed well, but frankly, I think the numbers on this one were a bit inflated.
- Brian (10/5): - A simple motel with no frills but very decent rooms. Fit exactly what we needed.
- Jimmy (10/5): - I liked the price, the staff was courteous and it was close to the beach.
- Roy (8/5): Good & inexpensive - Room was a little musty with an odor that improved after a day. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Bed was comfortable & I’ll stay again.
- Haiping (2/5): - advertise breakfast included, but actually no breakfast. I request a partially refund.
- Michael (10/5): - Clean, great restaurant next door!
- Angelina (10/5): - Easy check in
- Pedro (10/5): traverlers choice motel - They use airwick oil scents in the rooms so they smell great. The workers are very friendly, and although i didnt get to try the restaraunt connected to the motel since i got there too late it looked great and many people recommend it. The bed was a little stiff and pillows were hard, but its rIght off the freeway so very convenient.
- Micah (8/5): - Beds were a little uncomfortable, but the room was clean!
- Sam (10/5): - Location, things i need ed within walking distance, will stay again
- Eugene (10/5): - Great location. Good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good deal - Met needs: location, clean, budget-friendly, restaurant and gas station next door.
Staff was responsive.
- Helen (4/5): - The good: my room appeared to be clean although the carpet was stained and it was relatively quiet at night. The bad: the room itself was very run-down, patches on walls, mismatched furniture that was in deteriorating condition, and the entire property outside the room was trashy - as in trash everywhere. There was a camper trailer parked in the corner of the lot that appeared to have been there for quite some time. There were empty soda cans, to-go boxes and beer cans strewn about all around it and other areas as well. The little bit of grassy area that there was had not been cut and the grass was about a foot tall. But what really pushed my rating down was the customer service. When I made my reservation, I informed them that I would be traveling with dogs and I received a reply from the hotel acknowledging that fact. When I arrived, I informed the clerk that I had a reservation and she verified my name and pulled out my info. I paid for the room and she gave me my key. The following morning, I was walking the dogs and was about to enter my room when a different employee practically accosted me, asking if I had paid the deposit/fee. I told her that I wasn't sure and she demanded that I come to the office prior to checkout. I said I would. Two minutes later, she pounded on my door & requested that I come to the office. Turns out the clerk had mistakenly failed to charge me for the dogs. Despite the 2nd clerks eventual apology, I was very upset at my treatment.
- TAKEHIRO (8/5): - The staff is friendly and the motel is located at very convenient place.
- Jeanne (10/5): Hidden Gem - Nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. The proprietors were extra friendly.
- rhonda (10/5): - people were friendly. convenient location, right off interstate. restaurant in parking lot and gas station times two next door. therr is a mobile home that is lived in on property.
- Tristan (10/5): - This was a great, affordable option located directly off I-10. Staff were friendly and we had no complaints about check-in process or condition of facilities. We would easily stay here again on our way through.
- Charles (6/5): Overnight stay - Good price, clean secure room, quiet, restaurant was nice
- Emma (10/5): - Very nice rooms. CLEAN, comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
- Brenda (10/5): Travelers Choice - Easy check in. Not fancy, but clean. Beds are firm.
- David (10/5): - It suited my needs perfectly.
- Sarah (8/5): Great stay for the price - Stayed here with my family for Memorial Day weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had a musty/smoke smell but it was bearable. There was a spider in my bed the first night. I killed it and never say anymore. It is backed up against the woods so I wasn’t too shocked. Overall, for the price it was a really great stay. We will definitely stay there again. It is an older motel so it does need some updating but again for the price it was great! It was completely packed, no vacancy’s but it was pretty quite. No loud noises. It is right off the interstate so there is traffic even at night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyed my stay - I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
- Michael (10/5): - Vintage motel, very well maintained and very clean. Seafood restaurant on property is excellent. Huge portions, share a platter!
- Charlotte (4/5): Musty room smell - Room #16 had such a nasty musty smell. Cobwebs up in the corner and random hairs found on towels and pillows. Damp feel to everything in room.
- reprobait (4/5): Old and Cluttered Room - We stayed here because it was rated fairly high, but we do not agree with the higher rating. We are not fussy people and have stayed in many motel rooms this trip. This motel is privately owned and seemed fairly old. The room was small and cluttered as they attempted to add a fridge and a microwave to an already small room.
The manager and staff were Very nice to us and we commend them for their friendliness. We simply found that there are newer, larger motel rooms for a similar price elsewhere.
- Debbie (6/5): - The mattress’s in the room were very uncomfortable, other than that it was a pleasant stay.
- Cheyanne (10/5): Simple and clean - Very clean and affordable motel with friendly staff. It is a little older, but there’s nothing wrong with it. Perfect for our one night stay passing through. The only thing I’d change is adding a second locking mechanism to the door, but I’m just a paranoid pregnant lady.
- Barry (6/5): - Friendly owner.. motel itself is quite old. Our room was clean but cramped as they tried to add a fridge and microwave to an already small room. Furniture is old.
- Anita (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay few things outta the ordinary but was explained to staff, they were very understanding & apologies were granted. I plan to return in the future.
- Robert (8/5): - It was old school bare bones motel. Had seafood resturaunt connected with good food. Little noisy and nothing fancy
- Pedro (6/5): - Good for a nights stay. It was quiet and comfortable enough. It was right off freeway and at the time, had quite a few rooms packed over capacity with workers. No place to hang out outside your room.
- Ike (10/5): - The staff were all great and helpful. The hotel opened for checking in as early as noon, which was great and convenient. We had opportunity to check-in around noon and was able to complete our errands without any issues. WIFI was good. The room was comfortable.
- Loubertha (10/5): - The lady (desk personnel) were very helpful helping me get my wi-fi set up. I would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area.
- Kathryn (8/5): - Staying as three young women (two of which were women of color), we felt safe the entire time, especially after checking in with the kind woman at the front desk.
- Stacy (10/5): - I appreciate vintage properties that are clean and well cared for while traveling. A little landscaping would really make this place pop. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the restaurant next door was really good and the check in was easy. It’s not easy to face a 100$ pet deposit but I understand why they do. They don’t have a giant hotel corp budget to dip into if there’s problems. Property is close to the road so bring earplugs. I will definitely come back here some day.
- Rachel (10/5): Friendly and clean. - Everything was ready when we checked in. The room was clean and the beds freshly made. It was perfect for a one night stay. The lady in the office was able to direct us to a great restaurant call The Red Zone. If we travel in that area again, I would gladly stay there again.
