• Miriam (9/5): Einfach ein Traum. - Es war wunderschön, die Aussicht ein Traum. Vom Esstisch direkt zum Matterhorn. Wir haben ein Upgrade erhalten, wir waren einfach sprachlos von der Wohnung. Sie war ein Traum. Eigenes Fitness und im Keller ein Spa dass wir gut privat nutzen konnten. Der Weg vom Ausladeort bis zum Haus ist ein wenig steil und für ältere Personen anstrengend aber machbar.

• sue (9/5): Fabulous apartment and stay - The staff were fabulous and very responsive. It was well laid out and spacious enough for our family. It was equipped with everything we needed and was serviced once during our stay. We had a fabulous time. It was more of a walk from the lift/town than the map suggests as no steps directly down to the road. You have to walk away from the direction of Sunnegga before walking towards it. We were ok as all fit and well however if you have someone who isn’t as agile it could be challenging.

View of the Matterhorn was spectacular. Real luxury apartment. All 6 of us would return. Apartment was a bit hot temp wise where we could not get the heat down. We cracked windows in response. Light switches were confusing to figure out.

• Kadlec (10/5): A fantastic stay with an exceptional Matterhorn view - I stayed in the top apartment at Matthiol in Zermatt, and honestly, it was everything the photos promised—a rare and glorious moment in online booking history. The views were incredible, the space was beautiful, and nothing felt misleading or overly “wide‑angle‑lens enhanced.” The staff who picked us up at the train station were cheerful, friendly, and impressively strong (our luggage did not pack itself lightly). They made arrival smooth and stress‑free. A quick note: the walk from the street to the apartment door is… let’s call it “cardio with luggage.” It’s fairly long, uphill, and roughly equivalent to climbing five flights of stairs. Not a deal‑breaker for us, but definitely something to keep in mind if mobility is a concern—or if you're allergic to unexpected exercise. Once inside, everything gets easier. The elevator gives you direct access to the ski room and spa, which was incredibly convenient. Booking the spa was a breeze, and having it right on site was a big bonus. Location-wise, it was excellent for skiing. You can stroll (all downhill!) to the Sunnegga entrance in about 8 minutes, and skiing back in is even better—you glide right down next to the CERVO resort almost to the doorstep. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was gorgeous, the staff were wonderfully relaxed and helpful, and the whole experience felt calm, comfortable, and well thought out. Would definitely stay again—after doing a few stair‑climber warm‑ups first.

• Haiyan (9/5): A nice and relaxing stay - The apartment is quite spacious, perfectly for our family(a group of seven) get together. The Matterhorn view from the balcony is absolutely amazing, we enjoyed very much. Also it’s very nice that there is laundry machine available and free to use. A small complaint is that the air circulation is not good on the second floor of the apartment. It gets quite hot even during the night. My niece ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room. Also, the apartment is suited up on a hill, requires a bit of strenuous stair climbing, so people with knee problem might keep that in mind before your booking.

The staff were lovely, attentive and extremely responsive to everything we needed. Unless you are right in town, a lot of the chalets tend to be a little up the mountain... Matthiol wasn't too bad by comparison, but you definitely need to be somewhat fit.

• qin (10/5): 性价比很好，强烈推荐。 - 房间宽敞明亮，装修现代简洁，厨房设施齐全，床品舒适，楼下的水疗室洗衣房也很方便。房东热情淳朴，管理专业，沟通特别好，入住前咨询了很多问题，回复即时又详细，包括一些和住宿关系不大的周边问题，对我们规划行程很有帮助。火车站接站和行李搬运服务是加分项，虽然到达民宿有一段陡坡，有房东的帮助也很容易克服。地点离镇中心有十几分钟路程，但是离上山的缆车站很近，客厅阳台可以看到马特洪峰，所以也没什么可以抱怨的。入住期间房东相应即时，帮助我们解决了所有问题。我们达到的时候天气不好，第二天在阳台上观察到天气好转，马上坐缆车上山，马特洪峰五湖徒步是终身难忘的体验，第二天清晨还在阳台看到日照金山，完美的旅程。我们在采尔马特渡过了愉快的两天，感谢Matthiol公寓。 都挺好的，如果有早餐就更完美了。

• Janine (8/5): Great location with a beautiful view of the mountain. Loved our stay in Zermatt. - Loved the location with a view of the Matterhorn. Spacious living g room and outdoor space. Easily accommodated 6 people. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to get a late check out to accommodate our train schedule. We had a few issues with the property. The bathroom door in the main bedroom was off the hinges making it difficult to use by the group. Although we were told it was a fully equipped kitchen, it did not have enough coffee cups, dish towels and paper goods to accommodate 6 people. The coffee maker was a challenge but we figured it out. A towel rack in the main bathroom was loose. It wasn’t a challenge but a concern.

They had a shuttle waiting for us upon arrival and the staff was helpful with all our luggage. There is even a hot tub, steam and sauna room for use in the building. Will definitely recommend staying here

I could not find the way to get to the apartment by google map even though I put the exact address. Therefore I recommend the apartment owner to put the sign with an arrow on the road or explain on the website in advance for guiding the guests for easy accessbility.

Cuisine bien équipée, café en grains fourni. Literie et sdb confortables. Grande pièce à vivre très agréable pour 2 couples et 2 grands ados. Service de conciergerie très réactif et efficace. Transfert depuis la gare compris. Spa agréable et propre. Le piétonnier d'accès à la résidence est très pentu pour les personnes âgées.

You need to climb a slope for a few minutes from the main road to reach the room, which can be a bit tiring when dragging luggage. However, most apartments in Zermatt are like this, so there’s not much to complain about.

• Newbieuser (10/5): Fantastic Family Stay at Matthiol Apartments - We recently stayed with our family at Matthiol Apartments in Zermatt for 2 nights from June 1st to June 3rd. We reserved a spacious 4-bedroom apartment on the 4th floor, and overall our stay was amazing for us. The apartment itself was well-equipped, feeling very modern, clean, and truly like a home away from home with everything we needed, especially the full kitchen. A real highlight was catching a glimpse of the iconic Matterhorn right from the balcony – it was absolutely breathtaking! We also appreciated the additional facilities offered in the wellness center in the property premises - this included sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The staff were incredibly warm and responsive to our request to needing help with our luggage, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. We found the location to be great overall, offering a peaceful retreat while still providing relatively easy access to Zermatt's attractions with a walk of about 10 mins. While our stay was overwhelmingly positive, there were a couple of minor points worth mentioning. The apartments are situated on a steep hill, which means there's an uphill walk, sometimes involving stairs, to reach the property. While walking this may not be a major issue, this was a challenge for us given that we had lots of luggage and our party comprised of a toddler and seniors. We had read on this from other reviews, and hence requested for pickup and luggage assistance ahead of time. The property staff were attentive and responsive so arranged for both for us which was a big savior! Also, while the apartments are fantastic for relaxing, if you're looking for extensive evening entertainment right on-site, it might be limited as Zermatt's main attractions tend to close in the early evening. Lastly, these apartments don't have a fan or air conditioning (common in Zermatt) so visiting the city in warmer months may not be ideal. Overall, these were minor issues that didn't detract from our wonderful experience. I'd highly recommend Matthiol Apartments for any family looking for a comfortable and well-appointed base for their Zermatt adventure!

• Mckeague (10/5): Would absolutely stay here again. - The property itself was amazing The location being so far from the main road was a little difficult with strollers. There is a section of stairs that would benefit from having a ramp because we had to lift strollers and luggage. However the staff was exceptional and incredibly helpful.

• Mf (10/5): Wonderful beautiful views short walk to town wonderful staff and most helpful. - Great location and views incredible accommodating staff. Very welcoming unlike some of the towns workers that were gruff and rude to Americans. That needs dealing with as this is a tourist destination. Matthiol was great and lovely people. The path up with suitcases and ski bags difficult especially for older people the path upwards and then 3 flights of stairs with luggage was challenging so be aware when traveling with older people with limitations and lots of baggage. There is an elevator in the building so that was great.

• La (9/5): Highly recommend, would stay here again. - Beautiful penthouse apartment with amazing view of Matterhorn. Clean, modern spacious and comfortable. Good location, close to centre, just 5 min walk to ski shop and lifts. Met at train station by staff and shuttle, who helped us in with our luggage. Was a bit of a climb, up steps, and slope, which was fine for us, but wouldn’t recommend for anyone infirm. Also we were there 5 days, and were told cleaning services were only for those staying 6 nights or longer. However, they did give us extra towels and took away bins, which was fine.

They responded so quickly to all of our questions regarding our stay, and made it a very comfortable experience. The location is perfect and we had a wonderful time! Thank you!

• Verified traveler (4/5): - To be honest, the location of the hotel is not very convenient. It is far away from the main station / town by walking. No shuttle bus is provided for going in or out, but there is shuttle bus for departure and arrival. The hotel is at the middle of the mountain. We pushed all suitcases up to the hotel. It would not be easy if you travelled with kids or elderly. On the other hand, we were not very happy with the security. Our door was opened by strangers in the morning on the check out day. We were all very shocked. We did not know who the men were. They opened then closed and walked away. It was weird. However, the house was nice and the view was good.

• Geriheng (7/5): Good - Unit with 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, a nice living room & dining area was great for our evening chat. Shuttle service did help us with our luggages down the slope when checked out. Apartment manager & staff are quick to respond via booking.com messaging platform. The slope up after the shuttle alighted us then to the apartment is a good 5-7mins 25-35 degree slope walk dragging some luggages up. I will not stay again if I'm with elderly folks. I may consider if with younger friends. Only 1 washer & 1 dryer. Most people go out in the afternoon & only back in the evening to do washing, my family of 5 adults had our jeans & winter wear took out from the dryer by I assume another unit.

• Yu (1/5): Never again. - Nice view of the Matterhorn. Clean and well-equipped apartment. Check-in/Check-out: Not made clear to us that there was free transport for check-in/check-out until we arrived at the hotel itself (we were not the only ones. Arrived to the hotel to many people who hiked up there as well — very steep hike + stairs up to the apartments). Service attitude: A hotel/apartment manager is assigned to every apartment. After arriving on day 1, we were informed by both our hotel manager and the hotel receptionist that there is free shuttle between the hotel and the train station for arrival & departure. Hence, we arranged for transport from the hotel to the train station for check-out in advance as we were taking the first train out. During this exchange, the apartment manager confirmed again with me that the transport is free of charge before 8am, except, there will not be any porters to bring the luggages down for us (fine by us). However, upon arrival at the station, we were charged 30CHF for the 2-minute ride. As it turns out, the transport is free only between certain hours. Called the hotel reception and was directed to the owner, and it was only then, were we informed of the conditions. Owner was not pleasant during the whole exchange. They then gave us the ultimatum of calling the police if we did not pay the taxi driver. Owner then told me that the hotel manager is just a housekeeping staff and they will not bear the responsibility of whatever inaccurate information that was provided to us by the hotel manager (yet, we were informed to liaise our departure with the same hotel manager, the irony). Somehow, when it boiled down to taking responsibility, the hotel manager and hotel reception seemed to be 2 different entities. It was as though the guests were in-charge of knowing who exactly to approach and that to discern the accuracy of information provided to us during our stay there. Overall, this soured our whole experience at the otherwise great stay at Matthiol.
