Guest Reviews
- Kevin (10/5): - Fireside Inn is a lovely, restful, rustic retreat local near a mountain river. The Inn has its own ducks enjoying a small stream and little duck pound.
George’s Grill offers great food. Try the baked fish in banana leaves or the tasty breakfasts.
Had a lovely walk up the hill to see waterfalls, coffee trees, and many flowers. Or walk down hill to Boquete and enjoy flowers and rock walls
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was reasonable for the price. The only problem was that we were billed twice.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Did not stay - Room booked was not available, and what was offered was a nightmare involving climbing very unstable steps to a dark, filthy room, we got out of there as quickly as our feet would take us.
- candice (8/5): Friendly staff - A very rustic place has amazing charm ! Pretty neat seeing all the farm animals. The food was great . Room was a little cool at night but for $45 a night it’s definitely worth it :)
- Verified traveler (4/5): 2 star at best - not too impressed . no screens on any windows. Can hear all noises from above units. Needs upgrading and better care and management Owner does all he can and has good food at least
- andres (10/5): Demasiado Bueno y Agradable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Reasonably priced and quiet. - Excellent food at the restaurant. If you want basic lodging, but superlative, fresh food from a gourmet chef / owner, this is the place to stay.
- JD (10/5): Nice place with good food - We really enjoyed our stay here. A big thank you to George and his family for those 4 four days/nights. Very welcoming place. The food is made from his own garden. I recommend everythings on the menu, especially the coconut shrimps and the soups. Merci beaucoup George!
- Maria (6/5): Primitive Accomodations, Great Location - This was our second trip to Boquete, and we can enthusiastically recommend it to those looking for a unique back-to-nature experience. Birding, hiking, rock climbing, rafting are all nearby. As far as the Fireside Inn, the location is lovely, nestled by a stream and with wonderful views of the mountains. The charm ended at our door, as our homemade "cabin" was dark, poorly-lit, and damp. We ended up with some sort of sinus congestion during our visit.
We ate one meal in the attached Georges Grill, which was adequate but somewhat pricey. Also, the wood-fired pizza oven was not drafting properly, so we left reeking of creosote and smoke.
The owner/chef George is a nice fellow, but the place could benefit from a little modernization. Still, for the area, it's inexpensive.
- Amanda (6/5): It works - Excellent food. Friendly staff.
- Gabriela (4/5): Hotel normal.
- David (6/5): Rustic fun in Boquete - Great location. Nice feel.
- George (8/5): A day and two nights in Boquete - Small rustic location .. with cabin like features .. with a good location that's not that far from the main downtown area.
The staff was very friendly and helpful .... service was good a well with either making me a drink or breakfast the next morning.
This is a inexpensive location which is great for a budget conscious travelers.
