Guest Reviews
- Andrew (9/5): Good location, value and a laid-back atmosphere - In center, drink shop across the street. Good variety of restaurants in a short distance.
- Igor (7/5): -
- Sarah (4/5): Cheap clean room. One night was more than enough in this room. Maybe other rooms are better? - The location was good. Our room was right in the street. We couldn’t leave the door open (no window) or curtains or else everyone walking past can look straight into your bed. No window. Host didn’t speak any english & didn’t want to try communicate. I have no idea if there were kitchen or laundry facilities & definitely saw no common area, tv or bar.
- Andrea (9/5): Grazie per l’ospitalità. - Buona posizione, ambiente ospitale e tranquillo.
Horrible. Estaria bien que se organizem mejor.

- Andrea (8/5): -
- Zuzanna (9/5): - Great value for money - clean room and bathroom, very friendly owners. Perfect location right in the old town, nearby all the main spots in the city.
- Jindrich (8/5): - Nicely decorated room. Bottom floor, sometimes noisy from the street, difficult to park a car.
- William (7/5): -
- Carlos (8/5): -
- rio victoria (4/5): - good location, friendly owner and team. fan strong enough for nights. there was a sign on the inside of my door that said in big letters 'we are not responsible for any stolen or damaged items', especially since it was a locked single private room, so that was concerning. although there was a small locked cabinet that could fit passport and money - it was too small for laptop, which I ended up bringing around town with me, which was a bit stressful.
room/facilities not as comfortable as pictured.
- David (7/5): -
- Eli (4/5): -
- Ilvi (8/5): Preisleistung sehr gut.
- Eidel (9/5): You get what you paid. Simple but everything you need, with a good location. - Location You have to pay extra for the air conditioner
- DELPHINE (6/5): - Etablissement bien situé Quelques éléments défaillants (prises, odeurs, wifi)
- Stefano (10/5): -
- Mireille (8/5): -
- Nguyễn (8/5): Very good -
- Conchita (4/5): Disappointing - Aircon was broken. Toilet leaked
- Loneangel13 (8/5): Very good - Basic budget accomodation, but short stop over stay & great area near markets etc so did all we needed - quiet at night, very hot up top floor though communal fridge at reception
- Glenn (6/5): Pay little, get little. Decent for a quick cheap booking. - I mean, let me get this straight. You get what you pay for. A little. So I don't care so much about the facilities, they were decent enough. The room was noisy so bring ear plugs. Little barrier from outside. And the two rooms are near top floor, very warm even in the night and only 1 fan and no working airco. As a european it was hard.
Also, BE CAREFUL WITH SOCKS. The floor is anti slip for barefeet but VERY slippery on socks. Almost fell from the stairs twice even going carefully
- Aung (8/5): Very good -
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good -
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good -
- Simona (7/5): Good -
- Joseph (9/5): Superb -
- Eva (6/5): Pleasant - We arrived late and the daughter of the owner was super friendly and directly showed up to show us the room. We had a full family of cockroaches in our room which could just go in and out because the door is not really closed. I know that this a issue in many places in Asia but this one was more then I am used to.
- Mark (9/5): Excellent location, accessible to all. - The owner is so friendly and considerate. Loved our stay and would be back again.
- Honyara (9/5): Superb -
- John (3/5): Unnerving due to the tattered feel of the room. The shared shower was disgusting too. - Great location and nice management (the little boy is adorable & tried to check me in) . I hate giving bad reviews of businesses as I know it doesn’t help them any but I can’t withhold how uncomfortable I felt at times in that room. Thankfully, I was out most of the time exploring. It was just a moldy-feeling, neglected room that would benefit greatly from a fresh coat of paint, new linens, and A/C as it gets quite hot there.
- Gergo (3/5): Poor - Very hot in the room, even with the fan. The room is very small, basically just a bed.
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philippine (9/5): Superb -
- Annabel (10/5): great, would reccomend - great location, staff were amazing and very friendly.
clean and comfortable room
gets a bit stuffy at night but they provided a fan which was very nice
- Chelsea (2/5): I don’t recommend sorry - The girl on reception is very nice, she also let me store my bag after checkout and the location is good. It’s not like the photos. I was disappointed when I saw the room. The bathroom wasn’t any better. It’s very run down.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Niamh (7/5): Good -
- Kali (8/5): Good spot for the price :) - Good location, clean rooms, quiet and cool. They stored our bags for us when we did the Mae Hong Son loop as well! Beds are pretty hard, as is the norm. One of the top rooms doesn’t have the best wifi but she still works fine.
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Lovely place for low budget. Staff are lovely. Close to all the areas you want to be to. Rooms could do with an update.
- Hendrik (7/5): Good - Nice owner, bathroom clean but you see everything is not new. Room is right to the street, so I needed earplugs to sleep weel
- Hendrik (8/5): Very good - It is really central and everything is easy to reach.
The owner speaks good English.
For the price it is fine .
The bed was quite hard.
- Ray180765 (7/5): Good -
- Ray180765 (7/5): Good - Great location.
- Filippos (9/5): Superb - Good value for money and in a great location. Was very clean ! Bed was a bit hard, not a big problem for me
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Affordable accommodation in the heart of Chiang Mai's Old Town. Close to all the top destinations, Bars, Restaurants and Clubs. Nice and polite host with family. Recommended for budget travellers all who want to have a place for the night without lots of fancy stuff.
- Babette (9/5): Would recommend this definitely! - Everyone was super friendly. Everything we needed they could arrange for us (motorbike, tips for events). Rooms were clean and nice.
- Shauna (8/5): Everything you need for a simple stay in Chiang Mai - This inn is very homey. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful - I asked if I could leave a bag on the day that I was checking out, and not only was that okay, I was also allowed to use the shower facilities when I returned in the evening to get my belongings.
The location is great. It is located in the old city so there is plenty to do nearby, and it is easy to get to pick up points if you have day trips planned. There are some great shops nearby - I recommend Early Bird 626 for a nice local breakfast shop that opens at 6am, and Waffle Square for their delicious fresh fruit smoothies! There was some noise from outside. If that is something you are sensitive to this may not be the place for you.(I stayed during a festival - I'm sure that didn't help!)
- Louet (10/5): Amazing homestay with friendly staff and guests - You stay with the lady who takes care of the rooms. Friendly flat with dormitories and private rooms. Sharing bathrooms are so clean, staff takes amazing care of you. Possibility to do the laundry there, have coffee etc.
We went for a trekking outside of Chiang Mai for a night and the lady had changed our sheets, folded all our clothes etc.
Location is perfect, in the heart pf old Chiang Mai with many cute streets around. Unfortunately there was construction near by and we didn’t have water in the showers for two days. Not the hotel’s fault
- Mike (8/5): Very safe and quiet . . . excellent value. - Very quiet and safe. WiFi could have been better, but to be fair, it is only sub-par in one room. The owner very graciously let me use the
WiFi on the ground floor, and there it is very good.
- Jones (8/5): Very good -
- Clario (9/5): Superb - I loved my big yellow corner room on the top floor with louvre windows, lots of natural light and a great view. The owner rented me a cool little scooter and I rode the samoeng loop. Totally recommend.
- Rebecca (7/5): Good - Lovely staff. Great location.
- Aung (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Good value for private room - Good value for money if you’re looking for a private room at a super affordable rate in the heart of the Old Town, Chiang Mai.
- Oyarzun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matas (6/5): Too hot inside (ventilator) - Great location, chill zone, food store nearby Extremely hot - impossible to sleep, small room, unclean walls
- Bridget (4/5): The bedroom was ok, the bathroom was not - The room was light and airy. It's on a corner of the building, so it had windows on two sides. The windows had screens, so you could either have the windows open and use fans, or you could close the windows and use the AC. There were two small shelving units in the room and pegs behind the door to hang clothes. The room had cheerful colors: walls of yellow and orange, turquoise floor, dark blue curtains. It's on a side street and relatively quiet. The staff sweep and mop daily. The owner was very helpful with the paperwork for extending my visa. Internet was OK. The shared toilet/shower was a real deal-breaker. Although each has a door, there's only a partial wall dividing them, so you could be having a shower and some stranger come in and use the toilet at the same time, with all sounds and smells intruding on you. The shower had mold around the bottom edges; there was a towel bar, but no place to hang your clothes. The tiles are so grimy, it looks like no one has scoured the floor for years. It was one of the worst bathrooms I've ever seen in three years of constant travel. The bedroom was shabbier than the pictures, with gecko piss stains on the walls. The bed was not a double, just two singles pushed together, and pretty uncomfortable--you could feel all the coils. There were no bedside tables or bedside lamps, just one inadequate bulb high in the center of the room.
- Carey (10/5): Great little spot! - I absolutely loved this place. Very basic, but cheap, in a great location and friendly and helpful staff. Shower was warm as well which I didn't expect! Really liked how it was close to lots of pubs but perfectly quiet. Also staff were very helpful in getting me to my next location.
- Molly (10/5): Exceptional - Nice basic room, all you need. Clean shared bathroom. No AC so room does get hot but that’s okay and there is fans. Nicely located, on quiet street with cheap restaurants. It is really such a good price, and owner is very nice too :) You can also book tours and transportation through her. Would recommend !
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (1/5): Bad -
- Mihaela (9/5): Superb -
- Vildnerová (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful people there, quite and clean and super cheap, what to wish more for? :)
- Soh (5/5): Passable -
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Franciska (9/5): Comfortable stay close to the centre with good wifi, friendly staff and big bed. - The location was perfect, so was the staff who were very kind and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the wifi was fast, the room never got really hot so we hardly used the AC. Would gladly return. The property is a bit run down and a renovatiob to the bathroom would be beneficial. A cupboard would be a good addition to the room.
- Christian (5/5): The hotel experience was marred by miscommunications between the owner and staff regarding laundry payments and tour boo - Zentral The hotel has an owner and one staff member who communicate frequently but sometimes mix things up. For instance, upon our arrival, we paid for the room and laundry service, but later, the staff informed us via a translation app that they had lost our laundry and requested additional payment due to a 'miscount.' Despite our initial confusion, we provided the extra payment. However, the owner later requested even more money, which was frustrating. Additionally, we booked the VIP slow boat tour based on a flyer provided by the staff, with the promise of food and a guide. However, during the tour in Laos, we discovered that we were actually booked for the standard tour at a significantly higher price than if we had booked it ourselves in the city."
- Germain (8/5): Very good - Great spot to stay in the old city. Room was right on the street with big windows on the guests terrace, not much privacy.
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully decorated ground floor bedroom in pastel colours was a delight to go to sleep and wake up in. My room opened with a view straight out on to the street, which was no problem for me as it was nice to see chiang Mai at street level after several nights looking down on to it.
I will be staying again.
- Melanie (9/5): Superb - The Owner is soo nice and helpful, good location, confi bed.
- Selina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vanessa (1/5): Terrible, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. - Nothing. I paid extra for a private room and bathroom the room was awful, the blanket was a piece of furry cloth. I could hear every sound made in and outside the building. The staff weren’t friendly on check in. Guests knock on my door to book rooms. There so many good hostels in the area don’t choose this one. Everything, over priced for what it is.
- Padmasai (6/5): Good - Good location, decent sized room and shared facilities, communicative host, value for money. No elevator so be prepared to go up and down the steep stairs.
- Adrián (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ulrich (1/5): I couldn't stay , I booked and arrived they tell me no booking and no room -
- Shingo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shingo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martina (10/5): Quiet & close to everything - Nice and quiet place
Very friendly host
Very close to everything; this street is the best for eating 😊
- Bramhall (10/5): A great place to stay in Chiang Mai - The entire place was spotless. The room was a good size and the location is great.
- Chun (7/5): Good location to the city and some great market, i.e Fruit market, Warorot Market - The location was excellent, just next to the town center in the old city, a very nice coffee shop and many good cafe next to the hotel (just at the junction with Ratchapakhina Road). A local market in the opposite side of the cafe and within 10 minutes walking distance to Thapae Gate. Room was quite clean and staff was helpful although she cannot speak English. There were some bar in the same array and a night club (ZOE) not far away, they were running with high volume music till late night (after 1 O clock) and my room was facing to the array with a glasses door, we were woke by the motor cycles across my room! Maybe a room at higher floor should be better and with less noise.
- Martin (6/5): It was okay for 250 Baht -
- Nan (8/5): Very good -
- Kunz (9/5): Great place, for a great price, would recommend and come again. - Great value, superb location, wouldnt want to be in a different location now that I know the city. Great vibes in the surrounding coffee shops and restaurants. Good English and good communication! Clean and well ventilated room with a view! The street can get a bit loud in the morning - making food and such. Noisy at around 6 am, but nothing dramatic.
- Sinéad (10/5): Comfortable, Clean, Quiet - It's in a great location and the place is immaculate. The wifi is good, I've worked full time online while here including video conferences. The street is quiet for a central area and everything you need is on your doorstep. I like everything here. No complaints at all.
- Zillah (9/5): Good place to stay in Chiang Mai - Location is good, within the moat, very quiet at night and close to everything. Very large room, with lots of daylight and opening windows with flyscreans. Lots of surface space. Beds a little soft for our liking but there was nothing wrong with them. Shared toilet and shower very clean, and the shower was very strong with hot water if you want it. Downstairs is a fridge and kitchen we could use, including a microwave and gas hob. Family were really nice and very helpful and friendly. WiFi was OK. There is also an outside seating area. Excellent value for money in Chiang Mai, would stay again. Nothing
