- fa.S.

As fotos enganam!!!

- Hochstedler (2/5): A very frustratingand disappointing experience - The location of this hotel was one of the only things I didn't hate about this experience. It is quite far from the bus station, but it is near St. Mark's Square and other nice places to visit. I originally booked for 3 nights, but my original flight was canceled, and I was unable to make it on the first night. I messaged the hotel, but I got no response. The next day, I again messaged the hotel and got no response. I tried calling multiple times and either got no response or when I did get a response, they only spoke to me in Italian, and when I asked for English, they hung up. When I finally did arrive, it took at least 30 minutes to get checked in because they said I had been marked as a no-show even though they admitted they had received my messages, but nobody had responded. When I was finally checked in, they took me two doors down the street to the trashiest building I've ever stayed in. The wifi didn't reach my room, and the entire building seemed to be under construction. I suppose my expectations were too high for the price, and maybe the listing said that there wasn't wifi, but the whole experience was very disappointing and frustrating.
- Małgorzata (2/5): Disaster - It was cheap and we had a roof above our heads... I must admit there was almost nothing positive I we came at night the real horror started. The man who was supposed to guide us to our room was extremely unfriendly. I felt more like an intruder or a big problem than a guest. He let us feel how much we were unwanted by him even though this is his job to be just kind and helpful. The way he was treating me was humiliating. My name is Polish, once he asked me to tell him my name,.what I did, he yelled at me that if I speak not in English I cannot expect he will understand. ??? The way he asked me and my friend for documents remained me of police check up rather than simply regular check-in. He guided us unwilllingly to our room in another house, where the card key to the room was not working. So were all other cards the next day... So we were trapped inside. In the room was dark, smelly and cold with running AC yet we could not get a pilot to change and regulate temperature..In the bathroom stinked and there was a dead fly glued to the shower window. Shower window was incomplete so there had to be a shower curtain, yet it was much oversize and once you were taking shower the water was flooding the floor of the bathroom. It was so uncomfy to sleep there, I decided to pay double for the upcoming nignt, but just to move out. I totally do not recommend.

- Rohullah (2/5): - I recently stayed at hotel Ca' Messner 5 Leoni and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. First and foremost, the WiFi was not working during my entire stay, which made it difficult to stay connected and plan my activities.
Additionally, I encountered a broken toilet in my room, which was both inconvenient and unpleasant. The cleanliness of the place left much to be desired; the rooms were dirty, and the carpets had stains that made the overall atmosphere feel unwelcoming.
Given these issues, I would not recommend Hotel Messner unless significant improvements are made. It’s essential for a hotel to provide basic amenities and a clean environment for guests, and this establishment fell short in those areas.
- Xristina (10/5): -
- Alexander (6/5): - AC is terrible! Had to turn on a fan I carried with. Finding the hotel is a bit confusing they have 4-5 properties all same name and the one that's hidden is the one with staff so you around looking for where to go for a bit before finding it. Also room smelled a bit like cigarettes... Otherwise location was great and view from room was great
- hacer (10/5): You can stay there it is in a nice neighbourhood bey close to the metro and nice Cafes restaurants. - The location is great very close to the hotel(200m)
The building and the rooms were classical French type. The receptiost Rayene is a very helpful and nice person. They cleaned the room every day. The room we stayed was a bit small and hard to stay with family. Receptionist Rayane helped us to change at the 2nd Day but we were out.
- ETIENNE (8/5): -
- Jonas (2/5): - At arrival about 15 o clock in the afternoon of 30th of june, the temperature in the room was very warm, about 35 celsius degrees. Same as outside. Your staff-member in the reception told us that the AC had worked the day before, and would soon have cooled the room down.
It was set on 16 celsius degrees at arrival.
We left the room for a few hours and came back at 8 pm and the room was even warmer, and the staff in the reception came up to our room to check the Ac, and said that he did his best on making it work.
We had to leave the room all evening because of the heat in the room. At 11 pm we asked
a third time in the reception for help to cool the room down, the temperature was at 38 degrees celsius (yes we had a thermometer to measure). The answer we got from the staff in the reception was that we have to come back in the morning of 1th of July at 8 am for change of room.
The night that we had to spend in the room was horrible with minimal of sleep for the whole family. We had the wet towels with cold water and use as covers. No one can sleep in almost 40 degrees celsius. The temperature was lower in the corridor, how is that possible?
The morning after, as of today, 1th of july, we went down to the reception, for change of room, as we were promised by staff the day before. The answer we got was that it was fully booked, and that the solution was that a technician would be contacted within 60 minutes, and that the Ac would work, but is was totally broken!!
- Katharine (4/5): An overly warm welcome. - The location of the hotel was wonderful and in cooler weather I would give a better review. The air conditioning did not work and for 4 of us in one room we suffered. Over 2 days we asked for something to be sorted but it fell in deaf ears.
- Jade (8/5): Very good -
- Shelley (1/5): Glad I only stayed there for 6 days!!! - We didn't have breakfast
The location was great Said we had a garden view, was looking at another building brick wall
No tea or coffee making facilities in room
Lights over the 1 mirror didn't work
I slept on a camp bed !!
The room was Very dated in desperate need of redecorating
Windows didn't shut properly
Shower extremely small
No coat hooks or drawers
No control for air conditioning, when I asked for one it was only changed by a member of staff
- Terrence (10/5): - Beautiful property on the canal. Three large windows that can be opened to let in the breeze. Very quiet, picturesque area. Walking distance from all major sites. Very welcoming staff walked us to the room and showed us around.
Dommage.
- Bojan (2/5): Very poor - The location is not in the busy area of the city but close to the center, so there is little to no noise. All you can hear is the people with suitcases in the morning. No heating, uncomortable beds, no internet in the room, broken tv, need couple of minutes to get hot water. been waiting for 2,5 hours on the reception for the room to be ready for check in, 2 out of 4 electric plugs didn't work, there is no remote for the air condition so i could not turn it off or adjust the settings (it was set on 30 degrees C but not on heating so it was blowing cold air in the room with no heating on february...)
- Assan (6/5): Pleasant - Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast, clean room NO Hot water, slightly warm in the morning, but arctic cold during the day and night, no matter how long you wait. No control over A/C. The reception people are friendly but completely useless, I had a problem with a key-card, with water and none of those were solved.
- Rachael (10/5): - Staff were lovely
- Paula (4/5): - No good air conditioning
- Philip (4/5): Don't Expect Much - The room was so small and they packed in 3 twin beds AND a Futon. No room at all. The shower handle attachment was broken and it leaked into the bedroom area. They said if you eat at their restaurant, they give you a 40% discount. But then they add-on top of it a 30% gratuity charge. No ice and cold drinks are barely cold. Cool is more of what they were. But for the price, I got what I paid for.
- Dra.ana (7/5): Good location, all by walking , good air conditioning, WiFi and bed - Air conditioning
- John (4/5): - Bad air due to dirty carpet. Booked garden view, but unfortunately got a view of a wall. Mice or rats making noises under the window all night, creepy. Shower only suitable for XS people, also in poor condition. Unfortunately no recommendation.
- Bridget (6/5): - Property is old like most in Venice but hadn’t been updated at all. Shower was super small and didn’t drain.
- Stephen (10/5): - Great location for visiting Venice. 10 minutes walk to the water taxis, either on the Grand Canal (and then a 5 minute boat ride to the Piazza San Marco) or in the other direction to the Venetian Lagoon.
Restaurants and bars close by and a 20 minute walk gets you into the tourist centre of the city.
The Hotel was clean and tidy, the food good and the staff friendly and helpful.
Would definitely use again.
- Frank (2/5): - Alert!! Alert!! Do NOT book here…..this place is not as it shows in the pictures…if we can show you the pictures we have you would never book here….its brutal!!! Stains in the carpets and walls, gummy sticky stuff on walls, ac didn’t work, stain on sheets, wifi didn’t work, mold in shower, broken windows….shower doors…ruined our second year anniversary!!
Do not look at Expedia reviews, go to google and check reviews. This place was recently named something else….and they changed the name….and possibly have more than one name for the place….we have stayed in some lower budget places which were fine but this is another level. Thankfully with a fight, they refunded our second night but only in the afternoon.
Terrible experience!!
- JACOB (8/5): - Lille værelse i hyggeligt hotel med god location
- Thor (3/5): Way too expensive for the uncomfortable room -
- Delphine (6/5): Great location, don't use sofa beds for adults - The location is superb, you can walk to the Basilica di Santa Maria, take the Vaporetto at Salute and cross over to San Marco. But from the hotel you can pretty much walk to all the places to see and good restaurants. The room was spacious, clean and welcoming and the main bed comfortable. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Good views on the canal. We had a room with 1 double bed and 2 twin beds. The twin beds aren't actually beds but sofa beds and super uncomfortable. You can feel something hard in the middle and they're not flat - like sleeping on a slightly slanted roof. Never had such bad beds. The double bed however was great. Maybe with kids it doesn't matter, but not adults.
The bathroom is dated and falling apart, but functional. Water pressure was great but be patient to get hot water and if you're having a long shower, it might not stay super hot til the end. The wifi didn't extand to the room as the room is in a different building to the restaurant.
The banister stops before the end of the stairs which was a problem for my 80 year old mum who needed the support.
Old fashion blankets as opposed to duvet but didn’t bother me.
- Gareth (5/5): Passable -
- Cristina (3/5): Central location but poor quality of accommodation - Staff were kind and professional. Very central. The room was tiny, dark and very badly maintained with sockets coming out of the walls
- ajk642 (2/5): Couldn’t pay me to stay here - Absolutely horrendous. We booked our stay for mid August in May. We travelled from Manchester England for our 2 night, midweek stay and after a long and fairly sweaty journey, we finally arrived at this hotel. The manager greeted us with our booking confirmation and “you can’t stay here”.
Expecting a punchline to what was surely a joke, we were given the ‘options’ of a refund or… a refund. No apology, no empathy, just a straight faced rejection with no offer of compensation in any form. His reasoning was something to do with a pipe in our room and we were told nobody was staying (obviously untrue as there were people going upstairs during this discussion). Furthermore, we were told the issue had occurred that morning and he claimed that they had sent information about the cancellation (this was at 14:18) - when I checked my emails, I had been emailed at 14:02 - why in the name of Jesus he thought it best to wait until an hour before our check in time to inform us of our hotel being cancelled, I’ll never know.
We luckily managed to get a booking at the amazing Palazza Paruta which prevented myself and my wife from sleeping rough for the next 2 nights.
The room refund then took 3 days and 2 more visits to the hotel to be paid, taking even more time out of our trip.
Thank god we didn’t have our child with us and that we had the ability to afford another hotel last minute.
Utter shambles of a hotel, business and customer service and they now couldn’t pay me to stay there.
- Kseniia (3/5): The room does not match the photos, everything is terrible - Nothing terrible room that did not match the photos. Everything in the room is broken. The window on the ground floor starts and does not close. the walls are dirty and moldy.
- Viktoria (1/5): We found bed bugs there and had to find a new hotel - Bed bugs
- Jürg (1/5): Attention bed bugs! - Location
They paid the money back Attention Bed Bugs!
Air conditioner does not work
Open cables
Room in another house
- Rukiyah (8/5): great value for money if you’re on a tight budget, wonderful location but not very appeasing. - the location was impeccable. walking distance from absolutely everything. the room was a lot smaller than expected, there was no way of contacting reception from the room itself, you’d have to leave your room, leave the building and walk to the next building over to get any sort of assistance.
additionally, there’s no full length mirror in the room or sockets, there was a socket by the table which had the TV on it rather than above it and a second socket by the door to the bedroom
- Nadja (5/5): Passable -
- Luca (2/5): With a totally new room could be a good stay ! - Location is wonderful, one of the best spot you can have in Venice ! People was nice and they really try to help us, but they are just employees ! First there was no heating in winter, couple of very old blanket and that was all ! Shower was not to be in good shape. Boiserie was broken like the safe. But the real problem was the bed. Very cheap cheap frame completely broken. After first night we choose to put mattress on the floor, and my wife is very skinny !
- Fakturovych (10/5): Exceptional - Location, staff , service, breakfast
- Giancarlo (8/5): Very good -
- Liam (3/5): I’ve slept in cleaner homeless shelters - The location is great, especially if you buy a water taxi pass (big mistake of mine was not buying one earlier). It’s also cheap in a very expensive city, but there’s a reason for that. If you value privacy it might slightly better than a hostel. It smelt like a sewer, no like actually. It smelt damp and I don’t know if there was mold behind the wallpaper or if it was a plumping issue but I hated the smell. The décor was dated, but the photos don’t show how gross the room is. I was very thorough in checking for bed bugs and couldn’t find any but apparently it’s a big problem the hotel has, recommend cleaning your clothes after. The AC also didn’t work, but at least the heater does work, glad I didn’t go in the summer. The wifi was also broken a lot, to be fair I think this might also just be a Venice issue, it’s the middle of a lagoon and I had bad cell service too.
- Petronella (6/5): Pleasant - We like the nice staff, the location, the breakfast and the fact that the receptionist fixed a fan when the aircondition did not work.
- Wolek (8/5): Incredible staff that made my visit to Venice very nice. I will book again. - The room is small; but big enough to be comfortable. The mattress is not like what we have in the USA; it’s kinda like a thick futon/cot mattress on a frame.
The Breakfast included was large and really good, I was surprised. I really expected just tea and a piece of toast, not a nice buffet.
Anyways this is a ancient city; I’m sure my room was a few hundred years old already so tourists who book here have to keep the age of the city/building in perspective. I’ve paid twice as much for the most disgusting Days Inn while trapped in a stow storm driving cross country on I-95 south. For Americans; this hotel is still a 5 star compared to motel 6 or days Inn. What I loved about the location was the customer service and how great the staff was. I would highly recommend staying here because the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff are a tight nit team who are extremely helpful. The hospitality from everyone was amazing.
In the end it was exactly what I needed; a affordable room that didn’t break my bank account and the staff made me feel like I had chosen a 5 star resort. Also I found the location a short 15 minute walk from anywhere I needed to go.
Conclusion; it’s a old place but the great staff and their hospitality/team work really make up for the flaws of the room. The hotel owner really owes his employees a lot of gratitude. They are why I would recommend this hotel for others. There is a lot of small things in my room that needed to be repaired; air conditioner on/off switch was broken; the covers to outlets where about to fall off; usual run down hotel stuff. I do recommend they start giving two pillows also. If my room had gone through some basic maintenance and had the wall paper replaced; I wouldn’t have noticed. A good maintenance man should be able to fix it up nice again. I will say the TV worked great and was a very modern flat screen.
- 571erikag (4/5): There is better hotels than this… - We had no hot water to shower the first day. The solution was access to another bathroom in another building.
When we woke up the first morning we had a flood of drain water on the floor. It was terrible, the smell was awful. Faeces floating around on the bathroom floor.
No new room, no discount was offerd.
The breakfast was low standard.
- angelah520 (2/5): Great location to access most parts of Venice - It is such a shame that I have given this hotel such a poor rating, but I owe to fellow travellers to know its pit falls. let's start with the positives, the staff are very helpful and very attentive, the restaurent in the evening is good and the food is well presented. The bedding and towels are clean and replaced daily. However. I feel the decor, being something between Art Deco and regency , gives the hotel a shabby and dated appearance. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling and walls, the shower tray was falling apart and needed a good clean and there many broken tiles. The room had a pungent smell from the air freshener, all in all not a please ant experience. The breakfast was to a European taste and the coffee was awful. Again to end on a positive note the staff were very good.
- risheerc (10/5): Best Hotel Stay - One of the best properties i've stayed at outside India. The staff is very friendly and great service. We reached the hotel 3 hrs before our arrival time and were offered free early check in. The breakfast options were great.
- KrisztinaB216 (10/5): Good accomodation for reasonable price - We spent two nights over there. The room itself was small, but tidy, and clean. The bathroom was Ok as well. The price contained the breakfast too, which was delicious and we could choose from wide range of foods. The hotel is situated in the close area of the center of the town, about 15-20 minutes of walking the more important sightseeings can reached.
- takeawalkonthewild (2/5): Buffet breakfast - Awful. The “Buffet” is unimaginative and the food is of a very poor quality and I was horrified to find that the coffee comes from a machine. This is ITALY! Don’t waste your money.
The ambience is fair
