Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap and convenient but no aircon - Perfect for an overnight stop if you’re travelling from Gare du Nord. Surprisingly quiet for a hostel
- Hillevi (8/5): - Trevligt bemötande, rent men väldigt slitet.
- Mike (2/5): - Room smelled like sewage
- André (6/5): - Window broken , impossible to close it .
Toilet dripping.
- Sebastien (6/5): This is a youth hostel - This is not a regular hotel. It is a youth hostel.
On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, only a few minutes walk from the Gare du Nord. And the hotel's locker room is very practical.
On the negative side, there is a smoking patio right by the entrance and you have no choice but to go through it to get in. Worse, there is a dance club of some kind really close by, and you will hear/feel the bass until 2.30 am.
Rooms are decent, but be aware, if you have children, you will not be allowed to stay in a room without attached bathroom. There is no guarantee one will be free if you did not book it yourself.
- jeremy (10/5): Super efficace - Parfait . Très efficace et propre . A un bon prix près de la gare
- Ben (10/5): - Really busy during olympics, staff friendly and helpful. Great buzz with sports bar downstairs
- Michael (8/5): - The room was very simple and just enough room for us to go and get some good sleep. The location is very convenient for getting a train to England or transportation to the different parts of the city. The neighborhood is a little funky.
- Arne (8/5): - Very cheap and good breakfast offer!
- James (4/5): - They were unable to amend a booking following a simple mistake. They also did not want to communicate directly. I would of appreciated some consideration. The service from Expedia was excellent. It was just an unfortunate situation that could have been resolved easily if compassion was shown by the business.
- Adrian (8/5): Good stopover - A great place for a stopover. My only issue was the window had been left wide open so the room was freezing.
- Peter (6/5): - .
- Valerie (6/5): - It was okay for the price
- Susanne (8/5): St Christophers - Venligt personale. Central beliggenhed.
- Andrew (6/5): - -
- Francesca Romana (6/5): - A pochi minuti dalla gare du nord, comoda aper i trasporti. Personale non eccessivamente disponibile
- y (2/5): - The water storage box was leaking to the toilet all the time, next to our head, hearing the water flow to the toilet for two nights, could not sleep at all. The reception does not help.
- Thomas (10/5): - Friendly secure, local market and bar restaurant. Train and bus station down the street. Community hostel. Wonderful place. You don’t need a tv in Paris!
- Ginna (8/5): - Good place but the location wasn't as expected, the bedroom was smaller as we thought, the same with the bathroom, from the shower the water tap was damaged.
Beds are comfortable, we have slept well!!
- francois (6/5): - Auberge de jeunesse
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hostel prices, hostel quality - You get what you pay for. It was cheap for central location so we could overlook that the room was small, could have been cleaner and that Friday night music meant no sleep.
Right by Gard Du Nord so great for getting about and we liked the bar.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Staff was more than accomodating. Great place to refuge while on vacation
- CHENG-WEN (6/5): Location - It started with nice welcoming front desk but unfortunately the Room 311 toilet needs repairing flushing without no other private room to change but I managed to stay for two nights. I do not think it fits for two person luggage open on the floor. and the bed MAKES SOUNDS so better not move not too much in bed. and bring your earplugs because those in group room would open the bathroom all the time. It is inbetween exactly North and East station but single tourist should be aware of the small lanes after dark. very basic buffet 5E if it is not included. I would choose to have breakfast menu 6E in the cafe for a nice coffee and croissant etc.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very bad location.
- Monica (4/5): NI EN UN AVION.
No LO RECOMIENDO PARA NADA
- SHUJI (4/5): Noisy hotel - anyway, weekend is too noisy.
Can not sleep. The first floor was a nightclub with a terrible deep bass. I put on cheap earplugs, but they didn't work. A terrible environment that cannot be called an accommodation facility
- Carine (10/5): Ravis! - Très propre et confortable. A 2 pas de la gare du nord (métro, RER ...). Personnel disponible et à l'écoute. Parfait
- PANAGIOTIS (8/5): - It is a quite nice hotel in relevance for the money you pay! It is 100% a hotel - hostel for young people, (There are privet rooms though), so the general atmosphere was fun, actually great, if you can get along with young people without being young yourself! Staff was very helpful and kind! However, there were a lot of problems with the internet connections, (I saw people sitting in the corridors as the connection in their rooms was weak), also the open net connection can cause safety problems, anyway in general not a bad hotel for what it is! You need to be aware of the bad area though, (Gare du Nord)!
- Sherryl (8/5): - Very handy location across the road from Gare du Nord.
Staff were mostly friendly and helpful.
Cleanliness was very good for a backpackers.
I booked a private room and decided to stay an extra night - and the price suddenly went up!
An electric jug in the private rooms would be a bonus and save the pyjama clad trek down to the common area to have a morning cuppa.
- Emily Jane (10/5): Best Staff Ever! - My stay was fantastic! The reception staff were so kind, especially Liam! I came back at 3am crying because I lost my phone and he helped me get in contact with my family, extend my checkout, and even checked up on me at breakfast the next day! I could not imagine better service and I will definitely be back!
- Sony (10/5): - The reception was very kind, i liked the rooms very much
- Jenny (8/5): Good budget hotel in Ccntral location - We stayed in a double private room, and found it to be really good value. The room is basic but the bed was comfortable which was all we needed!
- Ben (2/5): - Too dangerous area
- ALexandra (6/5): Alright - "Budget Hotel" is a euphemism- St Christopher's is a mega-hostel, which is fine if that's what you knowingly booked but it's not what we expected. Check-in took awhile as there were several guests waiting in line. Our room was as expected according to the photos and had some convenient details such as extra plugs and usb charging ports. The bathroom was literally the size of an airplane bathroom or a cruise ship bathroom. The hallway to get to our private room had that distinct bathroom sewer smell which I've grown to associate with European hostels. The included breakfast was well stocked with expanded variety compared to most other hostels I've been in. Price was, I think, pricy for a hostel experience, though.
- Tiffany (8/5): Nice for the budget but earplugs needed. - This hotel has a bar/nightclub and is on a busy corner in Paris central. If that is not your thing and you look to hofels as a place to rest in quiet, this spot is not for you. Was it cheap? Yes. Was it clean? Yes. Was the front desk courteous? Yes. They even give your earplugs at check-in. Would I stay here again? Maybe.
- Nora (4/5): love Paris in the summer but not at St Christopher - Party bar Belushi’s downstairs was so noisy that we could hear the noise upstairs in our rooms late into the night. We stayed in single rooms with ensuite bathroom where everything was so small, you barely had enough space to walk between the wall and the bed. It was so hot in July 2019 that the small electric fan provided little comfort.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No air conditioning in summer was hell!!! They didn't provide me extra fans or switch room. My family and I didn't sleep at all!! We checked out a day before couldn't wait to get out it there...
- Bernardina (6/5): Could be better - Nice hotel, however room very small and far from the center.
- YAN (10/5): - Check in speed is a little bit slow, maybe because it's so popular, people in a queue. Private room looks enough space, and my kid like bunk bed very much!
- Cris (8/5): Great place. Friendly and helpful staff. - Was a little concerned about this being a backpacker hotel however, this is a great place. Clean, friendly and well equipt. Even during the recent hot weather, staff were falling over themselves to get everyone fans to try and keep cool.
We had private bathrooms overlooking the atrium/bar so noise was an issue as the music went on until 3am. Hey do provide earplugs however, as I have difficulty getting these to stay in my ear, they weren't much use. I would suggest that the hotel does make it clear that on some evenings there will be loud music until very late at night/early morning. That said, it was a Saturday night so maybe we should've expected something like this.
All of this aside, this is a great place to stay and visit Paris.
One tiny criticism would be that although we both had private bathrooms, only one of us had soap and shampoo provided. Not a major issue, just a comment.
- Matthew (6/5): Location only. - Pretty average but passable whenever the price is good. The breakfast is decent for an included breakfast — otherwise I wouldn’t pay for it. The main attraction is the excellent location near the Est and Nord train stations.
- Kirsten (8/5): Great budget hotel in great location - We were concerned on arrival to be in a backpackers hostel but we needn’t have been. Our ensuite private room was spotless and had all the basics we needed for a two night stay. Location perfect- close to Gare du Nord and it’s metro so easy arrival on Eurostar and easy to get around Paris. Some noise from disco in bar at night but no worse than traffic noise would have been and certainly nothing to disturb sleep.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - there is no TV in single and double room
the internet was cut for 8 hours
it is good for students
the breakfast was excellent
near to Metro station
- Shawleen (10/5): After the tours relax at the bar - very nice, near Gare de Nord station. Nice disco bar within the hotel, had a lot of fun.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They need to clean the place. You could find a new world under your bed. They give you plastic glass to have tor breakfast and they weren’t clean...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - NOT ENOUGH STAFF AT THE COUNTER, QUEUED UP FOR 15 MINUTES TO BE SEEN.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Extremely tiny bathroom. You cannot even turn in the shower. The bed filled almost the whole room. Corridors a bit shabby and totally uninviting. Noisy place with a loud disco downstairs.
Not too friendly staff. Lots of rules, inflexibility and they take ages to check in
- Sathian (8/5): Great Location - Great Location with the best access to trains and buses. Nice Breakfast is served.
- Safairis (10/5): - Best location. Very near to paris gare du nord station.
- Nurussakinah (10/5): - I stayed there with my BFF for 2nights.At first we thought it is shared bathroom, however,to our surprise, the bathroom is in our room.Even the room is small, but it is convenient and complete.Very nice and comfy bed.The hotel is attached to bar, even we did not join the party, but we still can enjoy from our room which I found out it is quite cool. The hotel give free breakfast and provide lounge for guest to hang around.Only 5mins walking from Gard Du Nord, make it easy to use train to go anywhere. There is a lots of halal restaurant around there, make it easy for Muslim like us.The carrefour also just a few mins walking from the hotel. The staff was completely amazing.I will give more compliments to Eliane since she is the one who assisted me on the places to visit and the transports to get there.Overall we were totally happy on the services provided by the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for price. - Room was great, but wow does your common areas, bathroom stink. We had to hold our breath to get thru. Also it said room cleaning every 2 days. 3rd nothing was done. Location is great. Room is clean.
- Johnny (8/5): - This is a convenient, no frills location to lay your head down for a night or two. Very conveniently located near Gare du Nord train station--easy to get around the city or get a RER-B train ride to the airport for less than 11 euro.
Like I said, really no frills but it was clean and had 24/7 front desk service for checking in late--which we did--and the staff spoke perfect English and were incredibly helpful.
One word of warning for light sleepers--this is basically a hostel/backpacker setup. As such, there is a big backpacker bar/club basically attached to the hostel/hotel and our private room had a window that looked out over it. We could hear the music and party commotion pretty clearly from our room with the window open.
Now, I am not a light sleeper and was tired enough after traveling that it was not an issue--the hotel also provides earplugs so they themselves are already aware--but wanted to make mention of this fact since sleep is very important when traveling.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend to others who are looking for the basics to be covered--this place does it well with a kind a courteous staff. Convenient, clean, courteous staff for a cheap price--pretty good deal.
- Antoinette (4/5): Avoid if you can - Very basic. No soap, no TV, bunk beds
- Brian J (6/5): Servicable but loud - This is a hostel, not a hotel, so the rooms are quite tiny- which is totally fine for the price. The shower is equally small, so watch your elbows. I accidentally hit the temperature switch while washing my hair and got a little burnt. Could have been worse though.
What they don't tell you is that there is a sports bar on the first floor with nightly live music, so expect some noise. The higher floors don't hear it as much, so that's a benefit of being upstairs. We had a rash of loud screaming Italian preteens on our floor but one word to front desk and it stopped cold.
Truly top notch security, have to badge in through many doors and elevator, plus security personnel at the entrance. Decent breakfast which is free depending on room price and how you book.
- Melissa (4/5): No AC equals miserable night in heat wave - Hotel has no AC and windows with no ventilation. They need Louvered windows that let air in yet still keep room secure or window units. I spent most of the night getting up and letting air into the room so we didn't die in our sleep. Very unsafe situation when temps are in 90s
- Donny (2/5): Don't Stay!!!!!! - When we booked this hotel it was stated that the hotel had air condition. It don't the hole experience was not good. I'm very unhappy.
- Graham (6/5): OK but stressful - Unfortunately, although we had paid in full through hotels.com the hotel was insisting we had to pay for the room again. Very stressful which spoilt our trip. Also it was very hot in Paris so no air conditioning was an issue.
- Lisa (8/5): Clean and Comfortable Close to Gare du Nord - So, I liked this place. I booked two rooms for an older travel companion and myself and when booking from a place where you can't see the location, it's always a gamble. This one, we won.
The place definitely has a very young vibe but don't let that deter any older travellers who might not consider this place. Yes, the lobby, lounge, and restaurant were bustling most of the day but here's why we won:
*Clean place
*Comfortable bed
*A window that opened and a fan provided.
*Renovated rooms (not sure how long ago but the rooms were bright and newer looking)
*A double bed that was definitely big enough for two. (Small room, big bed)
*Tea, at front desk, was so helpful. She was patient, friendly, and effecient. (March 2017 stay)
*Music that played in hallways, at times during the day, was not audible in rooms.
*Our rooms faced the rear of the hotel so not much street noise.
*Super close de Gare du Nord
*Contracted service for an airport shuttle
*Lugguge storage available, at a cost. (Definitely not a deterrent to have to pay, just want people to be informed.)
Definitely recommend this place if you are in need of a clean, comfortable place to sleep that is close to Gare du Nord.
- Benjamin (10/5): Great stay with awesome bar attached - Great staff brilliant location we walked every where. Relaxed in bar downstairs every night. Couldnt be happier
- Benjamin (10/5): Fantastic atmosphere - We had a brilliant time stayes in a private room. Awesome bar Belushis attached was able to hangout get a bottle of cheap wine watch live sport and unwind after a big day of sight seeing
- Giely (8/5): Great location close to Gare du Nord train station - Centrally located. Nice people in reception area, speak several languages. Clean, spacious room. Very clean sheets and towels. Bathroom amenities included. Good buffet breakfast. More oriented towards a young crowd; noisy until late at night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the atmosphere and the cheese and wine tasting was fantastic
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient, clean young hostel - Great hostel, friendly staff and the bar is spectacular with a nice crowd every eveNing
- Thomas (8/5): Weekend in Paris - I was looking for a clean and safe hotel near the Eurostar terminal and this ticked all the boxes. Lively bar too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing experience. The hotel offered so much more than I expected. The halls were decorated well, the lobby was inviting, the staff was so helpful and kind. The rooms were a bit cramped, but if you're a couple or business traveler it is well equipped.
- MS.MALASRI (8/5): Value stay in Paris - I stayed at a private room on the third floor. The room size is pretty small but good for a solo traveler. There're free coffee and chocolate tea with a kettle but no hair dryer. Also, soap and shampoo are provided. The room wall is quite thin, then I could hear a neighbor was snoring at night and people were walking on a corridor, anyway it was not a serious problem compared to a good price. This hotel is good for people who like to party or enjoy music because party music was played at the corridor until late night , sometime until 5 am as I still heard. And guests get 25% off all food and beverage at Belushi restaurant & bar downstairs of the hotel. That's very nice. Location is good for a traveling hub; stonethrow from Gare du nord and Gare de l'est train stations. Staff service mind is good too. They helped me fix a problem with a coin locker and carry my big bag. Merci
- laurie (10/5): Great hotel close to Gare du Nord - A lovely clean comfortable hotel with really friendly staff, a great buffet breakfast and great location if travelling on the Eurostar. I had a single room and it was very comfortable with TV and its own ensuite, and very quiet
