- John (10/5): One of the best kept secrets of Puerto Vallarta! We will be back! - Food and drinks were exceptional and very reasonably priced. Honestly, it didn't bother me but just know you're staying at a beach club, so there was music from 10am to 6pm. The best part? The music was good!
- Herman (10/5): Perfect location to unwind but close enough to all the action - This property is a little gem in PV. Great location and staff.
- Zach (5/5): I would try somewhere else. - Location was great for Zona Romantica, but still a bit noisy. The room was clean.
There was some minor damage in our room (broken hinge for cabinet door) and they were quick to fix this.
Most of the hosts + staff were friendly and helpful. At almost 300 USD/night, this felt more like staying at a hostel than a 'premium' experience. This is primarily a beach club and it seemed like they are more attentive to day pass guests than suite guests. Not much privacy during the day, with guests directly outside of your room, but nbd if you are out and about. Mattress was pretty rough.
We had a drawn out interaction with a receptionist when trying to bring outside food and water to our room which made the rest of the stay kinda awkward. We also had some trouble with one of the hosts when trying to figure out what access to pool + beach was included with the room rate. When asking for seats at the beach, they were hesitant to give us chairs in the front row. I'll admit most of this was most likely a language barrier thing, but it just felt odd.
We had a great time in Puerto Vallarta otherwise and many positive experiences, but this was a miss. For other travelers, it would be a better value to purchase a day pass here (< 20 USD) and stay at another, cheaper hotel elsewhere in ZR. If you're looking for a more relaxing experience for about the same room rate, you could stay at one of the more established all-inclusives down the road.

- ALAN (10/5): - My go to place for relaxation- vacation Staff always amazing great property and love the convivences
- Tony (10/5): - Very nice very helpful. Great service
- f (9/5): - it was comfortable and cozy
- Ferenc (10/5): Excellent trip. - Everything Almost no toiletries
- Martinez (10/5): Great place! Great location!! - What an excellent location! We worried that night life would be too loud - it wasn't!
- Karin (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (2/5): This is not a hotel - This is a men's beach club that happens to have 4 rooms. The rooms are so close to the pool, that you can't open the drapes. There was constant thumping dance music and the smell of something in the room was so strong it made our eyes water. Not much hot water, toilet was running, water pooled in the fridge. We left after one sleepless night. We did get a little money back.
- Colton (10/5): Boutique hotel in the heart of PV - We stayed here for our honeymoon! Lovely little beach club with friendly staff and great service. The rooms are lovely and big, and definitely quiet among the hustle and bustle of the surrounding beach clubs. Would definitely stay here again.
- ALAN (10/5): - staff always amazing
- Jana (10/5): - Loved all aspects of this property!
- Austreberto (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): - Great staff and location!
- Timothy (10/5): Beautiful, relaxing beach front, pool side accommodation so close to town and with lovely staff! - I’m so pleased I booked with Sapphire Ocean, everything exceeded my expectations. The welcome was warm and kind and included a lovely welcome cocktail. The staff were there for as much or as little as we needed. There’s always two sun beds reserved outside the room by the pool and Victor can also accommodate you on the sun beds out on the beach if available. The room itself is spacious, large comfortable bed, kitchenette, bath tub and large shower with consistent warm water. The air conditioning keeps the room perfectly cool for those hot days also. The location is fantastic - right on the beach, surrounded by beachside restaurants and bars and just a short stroll along the beach to the beautiful centre of Zone Romantica which has so many cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, clubs - everything you could want on a beachside holiday. I could not recommend Sapphire Ocean more! I have no negative feedback to provide, everything was perfect!
- Carolyn Jean (2/5): - First off, I have to say our room was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is NOT a family resort!
When we first arrived at the hotel there was no real lobby, and we were taken back that we had to ask where to check in. We were in the lobby! There are six rooms, and all face the swimming pool. The pool is small and very cold. We never got into the pool due to the large number of men kissing and loving on each other. The men wore the skimpiest swimming suits possible, and they acted as if they were 15 years of age with a new love. walking around with big Pinocchio's and thinking it is ok to flaunt them.
If you have children, or just a heterosexual couple stay away from this place.
People are people and everyone needs love. I don't expect grown adults of any sexual nature to carry on and act like children.
Gay people get offended when you put them down or criticize their lifestyle all I can say is grow up and act like adults.
NEVER AGAIN WOULD WE STAY IN THIS AREA OR HOTEL. Yes, we spent additional monies to move to a differet hotel.
- Monica (10/5): Sapphire Ocean Club is a “Gem” - The location of the hotel and the staff were excellent. It’s walking distance from el Malecón where you can find good restaurants, bars and cool clubs.
Jose was helping us with our food and drinks throughout the day, while we lounged by the beach.
He is very respectful, helpful and nice. The food is very good.
Just be aware that is best to communicate with the hotel personnel about your time of arrival.
This is a four suite boutique hotel and the reception closes at 6 pm, however they will have someone waiting for you after hours. I communicated through WhatsApp for most of the time. And they were very good to reply to my messages in a timely manner.
- Jordan (10/5): - Such a fabulous experience at Sapphire, the suite was beautiful, modern, and immaculately clean. The staff were so attentive and welcoming. Gorgeous pool right outside our suite door and beachfront too! Perfect location for an easy walk to all the great spots in town. Everything was exceptional and we can’t wait to come back for our next stay!
- Julie (10/5): - The Owners were wonderful prople just lovely. Nice units close to it all. Beautiful pool too. My only thing I would say is less music at pool. More quiet or lower music volume. Thank you again lovely place to stay.
- kathleen (10/5): - Great location. Will stay here again.
- Jonell (10/5): - We really enjoyed the suite layout and proximity to the ocean. The checkin and checkout process were smooth and quick. The service at beach and at the restaurant was wonderful and very tasty. We would happily stay there again!
- Shasha (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay at Sapphire. It was close to EVERYTHING! A very nice walkable area to food, clubs, sightseeing, everything. The beach was great as well.
- Carlos S Molinar (4/5): - Would not recommend
- John (10/5): Relaxing and friendly staff - Beach front A tad pricey
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Absolute hidden gem. Beautiful beachfront beach club with 4 private condos that are very well designed and have everything you need. Victor and his staff go out of their way to accommodate you and make sure you are well taken care of. Best experience we've had in a long time Everything was perfect!
- Carl (10/5): - Great pool and easy access to the beach, great food at the restaurant and excellent service from the staff!
- Valsin (10/5): Mostly Perfect Stay- a few issues to address - This is a wonderful beach club with four intimate suites surrounding a pool. The rooms are very comfortable and modern. Two issues management should easily alter: smoking around the pool is hard to endure when cots are close; and, unnecessary bushes by the pool block the spectacular views of the ocean and sunsets. Instead the property stacks folding cots that, with the bushes deny guests from one main reason for coming to PV - to marvel at the daily sunsets. Please make these adjustments and we will be annual return guests. Gracias!
- ALAN (10/5): - Location is amazing
- Sion (9/5): Superb -
- Jay (6/5): - This is first and foremost a beach club. The rooms are directly in front of the pool. They start playing music at 9am so forget about sleeping in. The staff wasn't particularly friendly and pretty much ignored me. The only good thing is its location - it's on Playa los Muertos in Zona Romantica. Definitely not coming back here.
- Andrea (10/5): - This was our first time here and it was fabulous! I had no idea that it was a tiny place with only a few rooms. That made us feel lucky and special! Great location with easy walking distance to everything. It's awesome having the restaurant/bar a few feet from your hotel room door! And the beach is literally right there! Chairs with umbrellas were always available. The best part was hearing the booming waves every night! We will definitely be back! Thank you!
- Don (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (9/5): The SBC was the perfect beach getaway. - Location, a great beach club, excellent restaurant, helpful friendly staff
- Rachel (8/5): Beautiful room with friendly staff and good food. - Beautiful rooms, easy beach access, friendly staff, good food and cocktails. Arrival cocktail was a nice touch. Easy to walk from there to shops, restaurants, along the beach. Because it’s a small place it was quiet and not very crowded which I liked. Pool is small but nice. Great comms from the hosts, check in process was easy and smooth. Worth noting that it’s a really small place with four rooms. The restaurant closes at 6pm and reception isn’t 24/7 so it was tricky to find someone to provide me with a pool towel for my snorkelling tour at 6:45am, and then late at night finding someone to help me move the large umbrella that had blown over blocking entry to my room.
- Brian (10/5): - This location is perfect! Next to the pool and right by the ocean! Staff was wonderful! I will definitely stay there next time I come to PV! I love it!
- Thomas (10/5): A GEM In Puerto Vallarta - This is a great gem of a property with 4 rooms, a lovely pool, beach club, and great food and service!
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Andrei (10/5): perfect summer-like respite from winter - staff, first and foremost. all top professionals. we know most of them by name after 5 years. nothing
- Gayle (4/5): Fine If Everything Works - It was situated right on a popular beach with excellent food and beverage service. It's a very small hotel which I liked and in the Romantic Zone of PV which has a lot of character. I would have given this hotel a very favourable rating but our toilet wouldn't flush and I had to complained several times. They would come in to plumb and say it was fixed only to find it still wouldn't flush. On the third day they finally agreed it didn't flush and installed a new toilet. We were paying a lot of money for the room and I felt there should have been some sort of compensation for the trouble it caused us but there wasn't. We were very disappointed.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Sapphire is our favorite gem. - I absolutely love Suites at Sapphire Ocean club. We'd walked past it for years, but never considered staying there, as we weren't aware of what it was. But once we discovered it (only four rooms total, which which can be booked on various sites), Sapphire is definitely on the top of our list when available.
- Manuel Ortiz (10/5): - Honestly the location couldn't be better, room was clean and beautiful, sound is kept out w great insulation, drinks and smoothies were amazing, staff treats you like family, obsessed with this place 10/10
- Allan (10/5): Five Star Experience - Staying at the Saphire was like having one’s own beach club at your fingertips. While you do have to share (it is deservedly popular), we loved having virtually all morning to ourselves having breakfast by the pool. The food and drinks are excellent and service is impeccable. Everyone was so friendly and really enhanced our experience.
The room was more like a large studio with almost a full wall of glass overlooking the pool. If we came in during peak time to cool off, with the light sheers we could look out at the beautiful view and yet feel totally private, like a large cabana. It was wonderful waking up to the sounds of the ocean, or watching the sunset. Moreover, during peak hours it feels like a party, but never obtrusive. The suite is fully equipped, well finished, and they even leave champagne and other drinks when you arrive.
I would absolutely recommend Saphire Suites!
- Jason (10/5): - Victor and crew were incredible. Such kindness and just lovely staff. It was the easiest property I have ever checked into, easiest property I have ever checked out of.
- Bethany (10/5): Great stay! - Wonderful stay and great hospitality! We Will return for sure.
- Rogers (10/5): Everyone Should Try This Place - The staff was amazingly accommodating and the other visitors we met at the hotel were beyond friendly. We loved the beach access and the easy access to the bar.
It was walkable to all the best restaurants and bars. Easy to come and go throughout the day. Service getting drinks on the beach was slow at times.
The hotel next door had loud music late into the night. Not Sapphire's fault, but good to be aware of.
Rooms should have a door to separate the sleeping area from the bath area. A little TOO open.
- Isaiah (10/5): -
- Himadri (10/5): - Property was absolutely beautiful! The room was huge and literally a few steps away from the pool/ocean, and all the staff were so kind and accommodating. We had a few minor issues pop up (I.e. our door wasn’t locking properly) but they usually fixed it very quickly. Would definitely stay again and can’t beat how close it is to everything in the downtown too!!
- Niloofar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrei (10/5): Zona Romántica gem - everything
- Caprice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): The greatest beachfront experience of our trip - Spacious and comfortable rooms, they welcome you with complementary drinks and coffee in the room, you get access to the beach chairs and pool that are in great location, discounts in the restaurant. it's welcoming to gay couples, the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Mini kitchen and bathtub in the room make it a great place for a nice week trip. Newer construction and is kept clean and working.
The pool is small but is very private and away from all the street vendors. Great space to sit and relax. Minor things: bathroom could have more towel hooks. WiFi is a bit spotty and not super reliable. Beds are comfortable but as always with hotel beds they are worn down like crazy.
- Khang (10/5): - Amazing staff that go above and beyond to make your stay and vacation comfortable. Rooms were very nice and clean. You’re literally 30 steps to the beach and in zone romantica!
Just a heads up, this place is a beach club, so there will be some noise during the afternoon, but who goes to PV to stay in the room all day? Either way, the beach club attracts nice, clean, and respectable people. Noise/ruckus was no issue during my stay, and club closes at 6pm, so no noise after that. Had no trouble with sleeping.
Food and drinks were superb as well
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was fabulous! Their initial welcome at check in through our departure was exceptional. Food was delicious, service was TOP NOTCH, beers cold, margaritas superb.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The staff was welcoming with unbelievable service. Victor & Oscar catetered to our every need and made us feel like family! Beautiful property, wonderful food & drinks.
- zachary s (10/5): - This place is amazing. The suite was the nicest suite I've ever stayed in. The beach is right there! You cannot beat that.
- Nicholas (7/5): Close to the beach but far from peaceful - The staff were helpful and nice. The location is great -- right on the beach in Zona Romantica, with access to lots of things. Overnight it's quiet; you only hear the ocean. This place is primarily a day-use club for people who want to visit the beach. Between about 9am to 6pm, there is party music right outside the door, and often loud partiers as well. One day we just wanted to rest, but were subject to this noise all day. It was miserable. We cut our stay short to find quieter accommodation.
- Matthew (10/5): perfect location, beautiful rooms, amazing staff. - Beautiful place in the perfect location. the staff is AMAZING. Victor was incredible and the service was perfect. couldn’t recommend more. nothing. i like all of it.
- William (10/5): Chic and Comfy with minor quirks - It was a great place to stay. Facilities are well maintained, service is a good balance between being well-accommodating and respecting privacy. There are sweet touches such as a welcome drink and a welcome gift.
There are just some things in the room that was not laid out efficiently, mainly in the bathroom. The towel racks were really far from the shower, and there was no place to hang towels close enough (except maybe the shower curtain rod) so you can just grab it after showering. There were no soap dishes, so one has to just let wet soap sit on the counter/sink. The bathroom door couldn’t close, it was pretty much just a closet door.
But aside from these minor quirks, it is a very beautiful property with very spacious, comfortable, luxurious suites.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Sapphire ocean rooms were conveniently located right on the beach, with very friendly staff and service. Rooms are modern and comfortable.
- Paul (10/5): - The rooms are very spacious and the location is great.
- Isaac (10/5): - Staff was incredible and so hospitable - they managers knew me by name and made sure I was cared for in every way. Room was very clean and smelled great. So incredibly convenient being literally right on the beach with a pool feet away from your door, and restaurants all around. 10/10 recommend.
- William (10/5): The sapphire experience. - This is an amazing (hidden secret gem) boutique type of place to stay. I had walked past it for years, not realizing the bar and restaurant and beach access within. We stayed just three nights (which were unable at our previous favorite). Sapphire has become by-far our current favorite for value and location. The staff was extremely accommodating, and downright pleasant. There are only four suites, so it has the feeling of exclusivity (without the snootiness, loneliness, and hard sell of another nearby large LGBTQ+ friendly hotel known mostly for its pool). The suites are well maintained with a mid-century modern feel. All four suites are ground level and open right to the pool which is right on the beach. Their food is good, their drinks are good their service is good. If you like a sweet breakfast you must try their interpretation of French toast. Yum. If you have a special occasion and can find availability, I highly recommend you make an effort to enjoy the Sapphire experience.
- Brian (10/5): - What a great group of people and a sweet place to stay. Thanks for a wonderful weekend :)
- Corky (10/5): - This was the 4th trip to PV. And this place, by far, is the best place I’ve stayed at.. the staff was very nice, the room was great, no complaints at all, I would definitely stay there again
- Benny C (10/5): - Clean, cozy, very friendly staff!! Also unique private beach front property!! Love it
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Everyone is friendly and helpful
- Balthazar Azriel (10/5): - I loved this place, close to everything, the staff is very nicer and super friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is one of the best places to stay in PV. This is on the beach and you have a private pool with service. Love this place!
- Leonard (8/5): Highly Recommend - Just about everything about staying here was great—the location next to the beach, the beach chair area, and the service. Even the food was good! The only major bummer was the memory foam mattress. Maybe it’s just not our style or our bones are too old, but we had trouble sleeping pretty much the entire time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice little hidden gem with a huge room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are always very helpful with any requests
- GrahamCarruther (10/5): - The staff was so friendly and the location was perfect.
- Gloria (10/5): - Everyone was very attentive to our needs..great location..
- Louis (8/5): Sapphire Gem.. - Great location right on the beach. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
- David (10/5): PV Trip 2019 - The Suites at Sapphire Ocean Club is small quaint place right on the beach. The entire staff was very accommodating to our requests. Would definitely stay there again.
- Joshua B. (2/5): Air Conditioning Does Not Work - If air conditioning is important to you, look elsewhere.
This is a beautiful property with the perfect location right on the beach. However, the air conditioning for the entire building does not work.
At check in, the owner said the AC would be fixed, and the room would be cool when I returned from dinner. It was not, and I was unable to reach her. I spent the first night of vacation sleeping outside on a pool chaise. The next morning I checked into a nearby hotel.
The owner was kind enough to fully reimburse for the stay, however finding last-minute alternative accommodations was difficult, and costly.
- Daniel (10/5): - Location location location! Could not have been any closer to the beach. Very friendly and accommodating staff! A+++
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location was excellent, however, many things were not available like the internet said.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had 2 small dogs with us and they allow dogs. Unit #4 was great (if you have dogs I suggest this room) . It was on the end so we were able to let the girls out on the deck without bothering anyone. The location of Saphire is great and right on the beach. The sound of the crashing waves helped me sleep so soundly. The Food at the restaurant is awesome. The chefs really know what they are doing. We would stay here again.
Dislikes. Really there was none except one. Beautiful rooms, comfy bed, friendly staff. The only thing was no one cleared our table after eating breakfast or lunch when we ate outside on our little deck. It’s like to was too far for them to walk. Friendly but they need to be a little more attentive... but we would definetaly stay there again. :).
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff left at between 6 and 6:30. So the bar and restaurant closed so you were alone till the next morning except for the night watchman who did not speak English. The first morning we could never get hot water for a shower until staff arrived. Last 3 days no internet and we were asked to pay our bill in cash until we insisted on using our visa and they finally figured a way to make it work? One staff told us off when i bought a coconut drink from an outside vendor saying the owner wanted us to only buy food and drink from is hotel. We were not told we had to reserve beach chairs when we arrived until a guest told us we were in his chairs. The small pool was right in front of our room and the Jacuzzi part never worked. When my husband got sick i asked for some more water and i was informed by the staff that i had to pay for them and they also told me i had to pay every day for whatever i ate or drank and that the tip had to be in cash. There were only four rooms in this Boutique Hotel which made it very private but didnt give the place much atmosphere. The hotel next door had loud music playing all day for the weekend. You definitely have to like the crashing of the waves as it sounded like a cannon going off all night.
