Guest Reviews
- Hakimi (6/5): - It just so straighforward. U book a room, u get a room.
But don't expect any good or comfortable pillow and mattress, because it is not comfortable at all. Sleepable yes, but not comfortable.
- MOHD (8/5): - nice hotel and good
- Nurul (10/5): - Very nice And comfort and clean and make me accaptable
- peter s (6/5): Economy and convenient - The price point is budget and convenient as it is centrally located and parking is provided. However it’s gets lots of traffic noise from the early morning and late evening traffic passing by the hotel room.
- Nina (10/5): Highly recommended - Love this hotel.. Friendly staff... Good facilities and environment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very Ssatisfied. - It was a nice stay at galaxy Inn. Near to the Jetty and parking space is spacious. Near restaurants and good scenery.
- leecK9330OU (6/5): Budget Hotel next to Jeti Lumut - Hotel is located center of the city. Nearby lumut jeti and a lot of restuarant around it. Room is clean and rate is reasonable. Staff/ system is need to retrained and upgraded. They are not able to check the amount paid through agoda when i asking to check out
- Wan (2/5): - The worst hotel, should be close 5 years ago,The staff and the owner of the hotel show a very bad attitude
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel yg mudah n murah - Nice place and easy to eat, shopping n etc..
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Value Place to Stay in Lumut - This is a well located and very clean and well maintained hotel with friendly staff. Very good wifi. Close to the ferry to Pangkor and the night markets and good food. Lumut is a very pleasant small town and well worth a stay. We enjoyed our 2 day stay at this hotel and would happily stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): An OK hotel for the price u pay. - Stayed here 3 or rather times later 20 years before we go to Pangkor Lauren with no problems. This time on check out was accused of stealing a towel and hotel was reluctant to give back deposit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hanya dengan berjalan kaki..... - sangat suka...staff yg friendly, bilik yg selesa, tempat penginapan yg sgt strategic.kemudahan yg sgt berdekatan, seperti bank, tempat makan, tempat shopping dan jugak taman riadah...hanya dengan berjalan kaki...
- Steve (8/5): Good value stopover - Helpful staff. Went out of their way to assist.
- Georgiastronach (6/5): Comfortable stay - We stayed here for 1 night before travelling to Kuala Lumpur. It was a pretty basic room for 2. All room facilities were working, e.g. aircon. Room was a little outdated, and basic but okay for what we needed. Maybe a little over priced for what it was.
- idzuanazdyz (8/5): Worth it - Just for the price, you got a value for money room. You get a nice bed to sleep on, good shower to freshen up yourself, and tv to keep yourself entertain. The wifi connection also is quite good. The location of the hotel also is tremendous, basically you can walk yourself to anywhere, the jetty, restaurant and all. Parking also spacious. Just that, ofr hotel guest, maybe we dont need to pay the parking fee. But overall, all worth it
- ElsaP159 (4/5): Cheap - We stayed here after reading the reviews. Shouldn't listen to everything you hear. Arrived in the afternoon. They did give us parking tickets in order to park the car in a public car park outside.
There's no lift so make sure you're able to carry your cases upstairs. The receptionists spoke little English - yes I know it's in Malaysia but expected some communication skills. The wifi is appalling. You have to leave a deposit.....what for? There's nothing worth stealing. The towels are threadbare and frayed. We had to ask for them to be changed each day, and as for room cleaning daily?......not. Hadn't realised there would be so much traffic passing at silly o'clock each morning making it difficult to sleep. They didn't tell us about the hot water on arrival; only when I asked if there was a kettle for the room. The hot water is in reception. Yes, there is a laundry a few doors away, but you don't stay in a place for a nearby laundry do you? On checking out, they ran upstairs to check we'd not stolen anything.....
Would we return....no.
- 523syeda (8/5): Just nice & value for money - 1 night. Reception is friendly. Most important is cleanliness. Sangat berbaloi untuk setiap sen yg dibelanjakan. In lumut town. Just walk to nearest 24 hour restaurants. Nice ! Peaceful and comfort. Sure will book again.
- ongc224 (8/5): Reasonable price - For price below Rm80/night, this is a good place to stay in lumut town.
Good service and location. I parked my car infront of hotel and just need a short walk to jetty. Mamak shop and western food is around; a easy place to stay.
- BenAhmad (8/5): Good location, nice and clean. - Located in Lumut main street, walking distance to most amenities like bank, laundry, 7-11, bus station, jetty, restaurants.... We stayed three night for business trip in this hotel, the room is clean and you can get the free WiFi in room. Peaceful environment with helpful staff.
The hotel is provide the free internet surfing with a desktop in lobby area for hotel guest.
Great...will come back again.
- ZCora (8/5): Nice place, wellcoming staff - We booked for 9 pm and arrived at 3 am because we were lost. The man was here, very welcoming and gave to us a upgraded room for two persons without paying more any charges.
Air conditioning. Close to the ferry station. Look out for people at night while the might gather in dark places. Wifi without pass !
I strongly recommend it !
- discoverya (8/5): Value for money - Front desk staff are friendly and able to provider most of the inform .Room are averenge with the value as we paid.Location are near by with almost the public facility.i.e Restaurant and bank as well. The only worst is limited car park space.
- mama_kahuna (8/5): Clean and convenient - We stayed a night at this little inn prior to leaving for Pulau Pangkor. The hotel was reasonably priced. Rooms are small but clan and cosy. No windows. Hot water, air conditioning, drinking water, basic toiletries are available. Also comes with LCD tv.
Just a short walk to the jetty and nearby eating places. Ample parking spaces available in front of the premise. The hotel owners assures that cars parked there are safe from vandalism. Parking coupons costs RM3 per day.
- BmTee (6/5): relatively cheap but ok - This is our second time here, the first being in December last year. It is basic with clean sheets on the bed, a small screen tv, no roaches in bathroom, intermittent hot water supply and a tired looking but smiling receptionist. Hot drinking water can be requested and the wi-fi is free.
- st_hannes (8/5): Basic, Clean and Strategically Located Budget Hotel. - I booked this hotel due to the first review and also because I wanted to spend time and Teluk Batik (beautiful beach with good amenities) as well as take the ferry and have a walkabout in Pangkor Island.
It wouldn't make a lot of sense in my mind to spend a lot of money on a hotel, if you are not staying in it the most of time. My only risk was the weather, but thankfullu, it played out nicely, with sunshine for two days while we were there.
This hotel is at the corner lot of a row of shophouses and it has two storeys. I phoned them first and as I was with my wife and two small little kids (4 & 2), the reception suggested a deluxe room - which basically meant a double + single bed, on the ground floor. That was a really good suggestion as the staircase was steep and the hotel didn't have elevators.
Checking in required a small deposit, we paid RM50 for a night's stay - RM110 for period. You should be paying RM30 less for off peak season.
Ok, this is really a basic, basic setup. The room is rather cramped with the two beds, and the were no windows. The toilet was clean, with hot water, and the airconditioning was ok.
They gave us two clean towels and some some small soap and that was basically it.
The room had a wardrobe, a dressing table, two plastic stools and a 14" colour TV with really good reception. I was however thankful for the fast WiFi internet. Most of the hotels in Malaysia charge for it, some as much as RM50 per day. With the Wi-Fi, I was able to download maps on my Blackberry and laptop, which made navigating my way around Lumut, Teluk Batik and Pangkor a breeze.
The other good thing is the location. Eventhough you had to pay for parking (RM3 a day), once you have parked, everything else was within walking distance.
There was a laundrette across the street, banks (CIMB, BSN and a few others), KFC at the back and a 20+hour Mamak Shop (DJ?) which has some of the best curry in Lumut.
The jetty to Pangkor is about 5 minutes walk away, as well as the bazaar which sells a lot of local handicraft as well as dried seafood (anchovies, cured fish, crackers, etc).
In short, it was really ideal for my purpose, which was to spend the night, wake up really early, and spend the whole day touring Pangkor Island (RM10 two way ferry trip).
BTW, after your checkout time (12 pm), you can opt to rent the room hourly at RM10 per hour. After 6 pm, only then they will charge you the full day rate.
Best features: Free WiFi and the location
Worst Feature: Thin walls - think twice about sleeping in. You'll definitely wake up when everybody else does.
- Newbelly (8/5): Clean - Clean & comfort.... well maintaince budget hotel
good location ( Town center) 5 mins walk to P.Pangkor jetty
