Guest Reviews
- Eli (10/5): - Really nice hotel - beautifully designed. Very comfortable, nice staff, and in a good location. Right in between many of the nice things Dahab has to offer whilst still being quiet and removed enough. The breakfast cafe upstairs was great too.
- Tony (9/5): Lovely stay - It was so quiet, cozy and comfortable. The staff are very cheerful. The design, style of the hotel in general and the rooms specifically is magnificent. And the location is perfect.
I will definitely book again in my next stay in Dahab. Nothing.
- Karl (8/5): -
- Mona (10/5): - We spent 6 nights in Alf Leila, and it was great! The room was clean and confortable with space to put our stuff, you have access to drinkable water, the outside space is also really lovely.
Riham was a wonderful host and helped us in many situations - we also booked 2 tours with the hotel and both of them went out perfectly.
We hope to come back :)
- Yanning (10/5): - Great location, just a 10 minute walk to the lighthouse. The neighbourhood is quiet and everything was perfect! Nothing
- Halim (9/5): -
- Adree (9/5): Cute hotel with nice vibe! - This is a very affordable hotel. Convenient location. We were visiting friends and they recommended it. The staff was great and super responsive. The common area has a great vibe. Lots of young people. We are older so that was not so important to us. I would stay again! We thought the mattress and pillows were hard but we managed ( we are an older couple). When I gave the owner feedback she said we should’ve said something and she would’ve changed them out which is super. We don’t like to complain but it’s nice to know they want to take care of you.
- Julius (1/5): Disgusting - I liked how it looked like it used to be nice.. maybe 20 years ago I didn’t like it that the place looked like no maintainance has been done since 20 years… the bathroom smelled like sewage, the blankets were dirty, fat and had hairs. And the room was so noisy it felt like I was sleeping on the street.
And that says a lot since I live in one of the most crowded area’s in Cairo.
It really was a bad experience and the value didn’t come close to the amount we paid for it.
- shallan (9/5): -
- Le (3/5): Not clean, horrible bathroom condition, avoid at all cost - Location is very convenient. Close to lighthouse. Two people stay and they only have one towel. You need to pay to get towels changed even if you stay for 5 days. When we got to the room, the basin sink was leaking water downwards. They came to fix the next day, didn’t even secure the pipe to the connecting part. Fully opened the next time we use the sink and water literally fell directly to the ground. We had to manually attach the pipe ourselves. Still leaking water the whole time. The water is not going down in the bathroom. The guy tried to use unblock liquid and it has no use at all. Need go stand inside the awful dirty water to have a shower the whole time. The next day, he used a toilet plunger and so much black dirty water/disgusting things came up. He used the toilet brush that potentially has shit on it to try to make all the dirty things to go down. It was beyond disgusting. I have no word to describe. We were stuck the first few days as we were diving and too tired to leave. When the black things came all out from the sink, we packed our stuff and left the place early. We had to book another hotel at last min price. It’s a waste of money and all our good moods
- Merve (5/5): I wouldn’t stay again - Location was good. People were okay when you ask something from WhatsApp quick reply. It was really dark and cold on nights. Even room cleaning was with money. No paper no shampoo no cleaning no clean towel nothing everything with money. Doesn’t make sense. I pay every day same money they have to clean and change everyday without money.

- Margaret (10/5): This is a great old hotel in a convenient location. The cafe upstairs has great food and the staff is wonderful. - Design and convenience of upstairs restaurant. Noise from common area.
- Nadja (2/5): Wouldn't recommend to stay there only go there for breakfast - It's beautifully on paper and the best is the coffeehouse with gluten-free options It's very worn out and very old and you feel super uncomfortable I canceled the rest of the stay...
- Tala (8/5): -
- Luke (9/5): Nice place and good communication. Would stay here again. - Design and spacious size of rooms. Management was helpful with arranging taxi and any other needs. A bit noisy from the main road. They charge extra for a kettle even though it’s shown in photographs with the room. They list free toiletries but there is only hand soap and toilet paper.
- Amina (9/5): -
- Julien (10/5): - Alf Leila is a great hotel, very well located and perfectly equipped.
The staff is super professional and friendly.
I highly recommended it.
Thanks
- Abdelshahid (8/5): Good value for money. Recommended - Very clean and very helpful staff. Bed wasn't comfortable.
- Aleksandra (10/5): - It was my 2nd time and I loved everything. Amira was so helpful 💗💗 All was good
- Kinga (9/5): A beautiful getaway - Alf Leila hotel is a great unique place with each room having its own unique beautiful style. I stayed in a very comfortable “Curry”.
The hotel is located just a short walking distance from the beach, restaurants and shops. Also a nice walking distance to Assala area and beach.
There is a cafe on the upper ground which serves tasty and fresh food (breakfast/ lunch, etc) and selection of great drinks. Open from 7:30am till 5pm. You get a discount as a hotel guest :)
It was a pleasure to meet both Ayman and Amira at the hotel. Both were very helpful in getting airport transfer as well as making my stay memorable.
Amira was very responsive to all messages, waited for me at the hotel for my arrival as well as send me off on my last day and stayed late specially to say goodbye. I feel I’ve made a lovely new friend for my future visits to Dahab.
Thank you so much for making my stay so memorable:) N/a

- sondos (8/5): Favorite hotel in dahab - Amira (hotel manager) was very helpful, sweet, and communicative. She was quick to respond to all my questions. There's a beautiful shared seating area (lobby) where you can make your own hot drink and chill with a book.
The breakfast place they have is VERY BEAUTIFUL as well and always windy even if the weather wasn't so good.
It's definitely not the last time i go there!! The breakfast place is a bit overpriced compared to dahab prices.
- Aleksandra (10/5): - Everything about the place was perfect, the location, the room, Amira was very helpful, waiting me to check in in the middle of the night 🙏 very very much appreciated.
- Ross (8/5): Friendly Moroccan style stay just on the edge of the centre of Dahab light house area. - The decor , staff and cafe were lovely. We enjoyed the Moroccan style. Our air conditioning was very very loud.
- Alamin (10/5): Great I was so happy the staff working very frindly you feel that you are in home - Comfortable- clean-animals friendly Nothing
- Reem (9/5): Superb -
- Yueyan (9/5): Love to stay here! - Very good location.
Nice Beduin style room!
Friendly staff. Showering facility is not very good.
Water is a bit small.
- Vladyslav (10/5): Cafe plus the accommodation was perfect! - The owner is very accommodating and kind! Loved my stay here. The breakfast cafe is an absolute treat too!
- Sarvenaz (9/5): Great value for money and beautiful design - Well located and helpful staff Nothing
- Katerina (9/5): Great value, nice cozy space - Great location, very cozy quiet space, very nice clean room with en suite bathroom The kitchen could use a bit more cutlery and dishes in general
- Marika (10/5): Unique, artsy, chilled haven ❤️ - Staff are lovely, both in the hotel and the fantastic breakfast cafe. The rooms themselves are unique with intricate wooden details and interesting glass. Hotel was quiet. Wi-Fi was strong. It’s a great location, just 5 mins walk from the beach, well-placed in town. Amazing value for money :)
- Irune (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luca (9/5): Quiet, comfortable and great staff - A lovely property. Quite close to the Lighthouse, a tourist hub in Dahab, yet the area around the hotel is very quiet. The staff in particular went above and beyond (thank you Amira and Harbie!) helping me with my room.
The Breakfast café also has great food.
- عبدالله (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a good place, Thx to AMIRA she is very friendly also she advised me and guided to the best places for diving in DAHAB.
- Basma (10/5): Amazing place . AMIRA is the best ❤️ - My favorite place in dahab always perfect and what made it exceptional experience this time is AMIRA the best host ever very sweet and welcoming helpful friendly and she added a true value to the place very thankful for this beautiful time I spent there because of her❤️🙏
- Nancy (9/5): Superb -
- Stapleton (8/5): Super cute and convenient place to stay. I’d happily stay there again when I next visit. - The owner was super welcoming and helpful. He gave me his WhatsApp number and was very responsive to any questions. He was flexible about checkout which I really appreciated. I loved the vibe of the place. I loved the Bedouin decore and the fact it was very small and relaxed.
- Adrien (9/5): Superb -
- Hennawy (10/5): Outstanding - Magical Place. Unique design. Super helpful & friendly staff. Great location.
Very very clean. Nothing I could think about!
- Gengatharan (8/5): A Moderate Stay - The room had a double bed with balcony and bathroom with hot water. It was convenient to dry clothes. I did not use the aircond but it's available too. Room was furnished with a clean fridge and there's housekeeping if you need any and the staffs are lovely. It is also a close distance to eateries and and the beach. A little walk but not too far from the go bus station. Water in the bathroom was stagnant and took some time to drain. Peeling paint in bathroom walls can be repainted. The room's lighting was too dim. Especially at then entryway once you step into the room. It was frustrating to look for my things in the poor lighting.
- Basma (10/5): Always feels like home - The location, the breakfast cafe, decorations, design, great staff very helpful and friendly The cleanliness wasn’t good enough
- Roos (7/5): Good -
- Johann (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely brilliant locations and fantastic staff.
- Lena (6/5): Pleasant -
- Chourouk (8/5): Great value for money, beautiful decoration, nice vibe, very good location - Really friendly staff, very well located (next to the main street and 5min walk to the beach or less), very nice vibe and deco The only small issue was that at the end of our stay water started getting stuck in the shower.
- Louvise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tarek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amr (5/5): Had high expectations that went down the drain 😕 - the AC Daily water disconnection on my 2nd floor reservation, last day was disconnected for 12 hours
- Sara (8/5): Very good -
- Shadi (7/5): the saty was good and i would like to repeat the visit. - I liked the style very much, also the location.
The Stuff was super helpful.
The room was clean. The faucets were rusty and the AC swing was loose and the remote was barly working.
- Sherief (9/5): Superb - Mr. Ayman is a great good man, He is very helpful.
- Nv95 (9/5): Excellent! We’ll definitely come again - We liked the friendly stuff, the decor of the space and the cute coffee shop on the second floor. All was good
- G1915 (8/5): Nice stay in authentic hotel - Simple hotel, with nice authentic rooms opening on a courtyard. The rooms have a fridge, good mattress and authentic bathroom. It is not next to the beach, but everything is a short walk away. Calm at night.
- Julia (10/5): I highly recommend! -
- Malou (7/5): Good location, kind staff & convenient pick up service - We had a good stay at Alf Leila. The staff is friendly, the location good (close to 'town') and the pick up service from the airport convenient. The common areas are nice and the overall vibe is good. The bed was okay but could be better and our room was next to the main road which meant quite some noise from cars. The cleaning could also be improved (more often during your stay too). However, seen the price, we were satisfied with our stay at Alf.
- Judey (9/5): Superb -
- Nina_Black (8/5): Cute hotel in need of a make-over - I have seen this property from the outside for many years and always wanted to stay there as it seemed to be different in style.
The Alf Leila features a cute overall boutique design with mosaic tiles and an oriental touch. Rooms don’t have numbers but names. I really liked my bed built into a niche on a pedestal.
The room featured a fridge, aircon and a comfy chair. The bathroom had a large shower.
I appreciated that I was contacted in advance to check if I needed transport or anything else. The bathroom and bedroom floors were very dirty/grimy.
During my stay my room wasn’t cleaned once and i was not asked if I wanted cleaning.
The hotel’s design/concept is great, however, the place is worn and could do with a bit of renovation and a thorough cleaning.

- Nader (7/5): only stayed for a few days, nice staff, not far from centre - design water pressure
- Dzuy-tam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (8/5): cozy and familiar atmosphere, central location - Staying there felt more like visiting friends or family rather than a hotel. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. I very much enjoyed my 2-weeks stay (the "cinnamon"-room) and will definitely come back some day. The breakfast restaurant/cafe inside the hotel is a huge plus. Located near a main street, so it's a little noisy, but I got used to it after a few nights.
- Nadeen (9/5): Superb - Very cozy place with friendly staff. Would definitely book again
- Sophie (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel, perfect for solo travelers and good value - Really cute boutique riad hotel, with comfy beds (and soft towels!) that felt clean and welcoming by staff who gave you plenty of privacy. Really liked the riad style and rooms had cool traditional features. Location was a short walk from the beachfront with nice cafes around and overall really good value for money. Would recommend and come back! Staff were always contactable by WhatsApp even though not always around - good communication. Would have liked some more proactive housekeeping e.g. toilet bins being emptied (stayed 1 week). Also the rooms could do with a little bit of love as some small things broken and a little upkeep would make a big difference. Didn't really impact how comfortable I felt in the room though so more of a suggestion than complaint.
- Ditte (7/5): Nice and friendly place, but a bit noisy due to traffic. - The communication with the owner and staff was excellent, I felt well taken care of at all times. The room and the place looks like the pictures. You can walk to/from the bus and the center of Dahab. The is a great (though a bit pricey) breakfast cafe in the hotel, and a coffee station with free coffee/tea for 1$ pr day. However, there is a really busy road nearby, and a lot of traffic noise in my room which was facing that (Saffron). I never used the balcony for the same reason. The kitchen of the breakfast cafe is right next to the room, and they start early. The staff did what they could to move me to a more quiet room though.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amina (4/5): Disappointing - No view at all, noise starting from 8 am in the morning, rooms are the same price and no the same in facilities.

- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jake (8/5): Very good -
- Zabel (7/5): Good stay for value and location! - The Design and Location Cleanliness and Facilities
- RawanAlmoghazy (4/5): It’s not worth the money - The room was so dirty, the bathroom taps are rusty and the whole place needs maintenance. It’s location is nice and almost 3 minutes walk from the beach but that’s it no other advantage i won’t be repeating my stay
- Rosemarie (8/5): Great location super staff and helpful - Helpful friendly staff. Nothing
- Steve (7/5): Good - The cats Air con broke down twice so had to move rooms
- Merna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marina (4/5): the price is very high. for this money you can find a hotel much cleaner and closer to the sea - beautiful design 1. The room is very dusty and dirty, as if it had not been cleaned for six months or more.
I found someone's hair on the bed.
There was rubbish on the floor, from previous visitors
2. breakfast was included in the price, but not coffee. each time I had to pay extra +60 LE.
3. Check-out is written on Booking from 11-12 am, but at exactly 11 am they knocked on the door and evicted
- patsternyc (10/5): Highly recommend- you will love it. - We loved our 3 night stay at Alf Leila! Ayman, the owner is so lovely, overseeing our every need from the moment we booked our reservation. He is super attentive to all my questions of things to do, etc He organized a pick up from Sharm El Sheik airport to the hotel and made the transfer seamless, even at midnight!
The hotel is so charming - the hotel is riad style and the rooms are spacious and unique. I loved that it is just far enough from the beach walk where the bars and restaurants are to be quiet and calm.
Don’t forget to get the breakfast at the hotel’s breakfast restaurant! It is a locally known thing that breakfast at Alf Leila is amazing. Anastasia and the staff was wonderful in serving my group of 5 in a hurry to make our flight.
And what I loved the most - they make their own kamboucha! So hard to pick a flavor - so we got 3!
Can’t wait to return, inshal’lah. Thank you for a beautiful stay, Ayman!
- badplanet (10/5): Vibrant, relaxed and comfortable boutique. Highly recomended - It is a place of a great taste in design and architecture which is rare. Though it is center of Dahab, it is kinda out of noisy streets. And there is a nice trick about this place. They have a stylish breakfast cafe right inside the complex. Which serves the one and only salmon benedict in town. Rooms were clean and nice, though it is common. But the details are what catch the eye and make you fall in love with Alf Leila. All this Moroccan style musical instruments, plates and decor scattered around makes this stay not just a stay, but an experience. The owners told that they are renewing rooms to make them cleanest in Dahab, which is appreciated. Anyway, 10 out of 10, great job, loved it.
- 996adelh (10/5): Best hotel in Dahab - I’ve stayed in Alf Leila in January 2022. This is a very nice little hotel very close to restauants, cafes and the promenade is few minutes walk. I especially enjoyed the coffee corner in the garden and seating with a book in the Bedouin style corner. I highly recommend the room upstairs with Mountain View, the balcony is very nice there. I felt I stayed with my family and mr Ayman was very helpful in everything. Pretty sure anyone who chooses Alf Leila will enjoy their stay
- Dinasobhy (10/5): Very Nice Experience - This place is very Cozy and nice and all the people working there from Mostafa front office are very welcoming , the place is clean and calm and the service is great , they have a very nice place for breakfast ( the breakfast cafe ) and also the Egyptian food with Reham of you like to taste the real Egyptian Culinary , I recommend this place for anyone who wants to feel the warmth and coziness in Dahab , they are not just a hotel they are family .. Special thanks to the people who run that place Ayman and Juliana for the help and support offered during my stay .. I would love always to come and stay here ..
- 514shadye (10/5): Very nice hotel - Beautiful place with very comfortable atmosphere clean rooms good wifi very good staff location in down town very near from all services breakfast in restaurant is amazing everything is clean sure I will come again
- bigad82 (2/5): A terrible experience and a very rude owner - I booked this hotel based on on the good reviews and nice photos on TripAdvisor. When I checked in I found the room extremely dirty, the bed sheet had stains and worn out. The bathroom had an awful smell that we couldn't stand. Immediately i went down to the reception to ask to leave as this is a place no human can stay in. Mostafa in the reception was so polite, decent, and understanding and this guy is the only good thing in this hotel, he Immediately called Ayman the owner to ask him to give me my money back.
Here was the surprise!!!
This guy called Ayman called me saying I can't leave and he will fix the issues I am complaining about and that's all he can do. He was very rude and didn't feel that they had any problem, he was even saying that in 5 stars hotels I may face similar situations and I am the one complicating things. This guy has zero experience in customer service, zero experience in management and zero communication skills. Finally after insisting to leave they deducted one night and gave me back the rest although I didn't stay 5 minutes in this horrible place.

- amynosseir (10/5): Alf leila boutique hotel - Our room was spacious and very comfy, the hotel’s vibe is just pretty! Everyone was friendly and advising on how to do activities at great rates and assisting with drivers and bookings.
We didnt get the time to try the food but the smell was good!
Also the outdoor seating in the front was convenient at all times ❤️
- Casaad (10/5): Alf leila boutique - Amazing experience, clean, friendly staff

- aymansayed81 (10/5): Light. - Very good. One of the places that I liked accomodation and friendly stuff .the hospatilaty is wonderfull.i like the place and it is recommended for people how want the classic style
and luxuary.thank you for your hospitality
- Del (2/5): - After booking and paying, I arrived at the property to find the gate locked. I called and Whatsapped the number written on the gate and was completely ignored. I ultimately gave up and slept on a friend’s
floor. To date I have received no acknowledgement from the owner. I find this rude and highly discourteous, especially for a host in the hospitality space in a place like Dahab. Doesn’t surprise me that she has a reputation for mishandling guest relations in town.
- forestana (8/5): Nice location and cute room. - It was very nice location which close to the beach area where most restaurants are and not too close. only couple of mins. It was blight and safe enough for myself, ate dinner at the restaurants and went back. The room was very cute and clean, very comfortable. Only down side I had with them was the breakfast.
The owner was changed at the time when I made the reservation and then new management did not know that I was coming so at that time I arrived, nobody there. The guy next door help me to reach the manager. That is ok. but my plan was including breakfast, though she only able to offer breakfast from 9am. I dived from 8 or 9 am so most of the days I missed breakfast.
I enjoyed barkery on the way to the dive center though it might be better to get something to eat at hotel because that what I paid for....
- MSS-Cairo (8/5): Authentic & atmospheric hotel centrally located in Dahab. - This is a small, Arabic-themed hotel within short walking distamce of the sea front restaurants and shops.
Our rooms were pleasently quirky, spacious and fitted out well. The rooms are on two floors surrounding a small, open courtyard. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the open area.
Natalia at reception is very helpful and multilingual.
There are balconies as well as the open courtyard in which to relax.
Breakfast is taken at Jackies restaurant, a sister business, on the sea front.
The food choices and quality were excellent.
As with all boutique hotels, the style is particular to the owners. Everything worked, however some of the fixtures are looking a little tired and would benefit from a refresh.
There were four diamond-shaped, openable windows in our room which have mosquito netting built-in. This was great in getting the fresh breeze through the room to cool it down.
Good value for money the hotel is ideal for accessing the diving companies, especially H2O, just down the road.
The hotel also organised transport from Sharm El Sheik airport and back again at 35€ per trip.
