- Geoffrey (6/5): A great location for visiting the various West Yorkshire galleries - Location. Friendly staff. Breakfast was a bit disappointing on weekdays. The timing of 7-9am may suit those using the hotel for work but was a bit limiting for those on holiday.
- Susan (9/5): Excellent value for money - The hotel is in a good location not far from the motorway Barnsley , Wakefield and Newmillerdam there is a bus stop right outside. Our room was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfy we had plenty of tea and coffee, the staff friendly snd helpful. We had a bar meal on the second night which was reasonably priced and very nice. Another plus was unlike many hotels the windows open which meant we could get fresh air. The cold tap on the bath didn't work and the shower head spurted water everywhere. This didn't spoil our stay and we'll definitely re book

- Sue (8/5): Nice stay and good location and the reception staff are lovely - The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming The room was a bit basic ,bathroom was a bit tied , taps hard to turn , bath panel was loose . It was clean and the shower was hot. Bedding and towels clean ..there was a couple of cobwebs in the room but it still felt clean .. I would go back It would have been nice to have some pictures on the wall . Food was a bit slow in coming in the restaurant but it tasted ok when it arrived .

- Amanda (7/5): Pleasant and comfy - I travelled as a lone female with an elderly dog. Check in was really smooth, in within minutes. Just remember to enter your registration on arrival for the amount of days you are staying, not just nights. From the moment we arrived to checkout both I and the dog were spoilt. Staff are customer and dog focused. Harry the Labrador enjoyed his request of scrambled eggs for breakfast, yes seriously. Breakfast was freshly cooked until Sunday when it was buffet. Food was of really good quality. I think the hotel strives for cutting on waste which was nice to see. I asked for a quiet room - 310- end of a corridor and honestly I don't think I've stayed anywhere as quiet for a long time. Also worth noting is that you are a few minutes walk to Newmiller Dam and the pubs and restaurants either side of the water. This is an ideal hotel for business people and for those wanting a base to explore the surrounding areas. The hotel has a small bar area which looks nice but I didn't really use it on this occasion. Room was clean, basic, bed was comfy and room was bigger than expected. Really good value for money. I believe the owners are trying to reinvigorate the hotel which is and has been used for weddings, occasions and conferences. Hotel is under new management and Darren and the Team go the extra mile to try and ensure a pleasant stay. No request was too big. I even received a lovely card wishing me a safe onward journey. I hope to stay again next time I am in the area.

Plenty of parking. Hotel was clean and recently painted. Quiet when we stayed so an undisturbed night’s sleep. Staff welcoming and helpful. Excellent value for money at the price we paid. I believe the hotel has not long reopened after being closed having been used for non-hotel/commercial purposes. The fabric /decoration of the place is fine but our room was pretty stark, no pictures or other decoration on the walls - a small thing but would make all the difference to the feel of the place and get guests coming back - we’ve stayed here in the past and it was buzzing and lively.

Location wonderful for Yorkshire Sculpture Park and amazing for Newmillerdam County Park The breakfast cold selection was really poor with discoloured bananas and near empty trays Hotel did not advise till last moment the chef was on holiday and the restaurant was shut in the evening. Luckily a pub and another restaurant are near. Staff are lovely and location great but putting out fruit that looks poor not great and near empty trays not great either

- Rachel (8/5): Hotel St Pierre - I regularly stay for here for work. It's comfortable and better value for money than a lot of hotels in the surrounding area. As a lone female traveller, I also appreciate that it feels safe when I stay here. Good sized room. Lovely walks around the area. Good wifi! Breakfast starts at 7am, but I have to be on the road then, so don't get to eat before I leave. But you can order and pay for food to collect from the restaurant if you want a takeaway.

- Dawn (10/5): Comfortable hotel with fantastic woodland and lake walks 2 minutes walk down the road - This hotel is in a beautiful location with wonderful woodland and lake walks just a two minute walk away. Staff are very friendly and my breakfast was great. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to leave it. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the deep bathtub was a delight. Pepper added to breakfast, not everyone likes pepper and it’s not mentioned on menu, hopefully I will remember to ask for it without at my next visit.

- Gee (6/5): - Spacious room with comfortable bed and bedding, good location and close to 2:of the best restaurants in Wakefield. Hotel furnishings dated and starting to feel rundown, and appeared to be run on a shoestring. I stayed just 3 nights and during this time my room wasn't cleaned, there was no hot water on the Sunday evening, and breakfasts were extremely basic and very low quality, with no real selection The only fruit was apples, fruit juices were watery versions of just apple and orange.and the cooked breakfast which had to be ordered was plated up and arrived cold, and the quality could have been better, notably the egg and sausage used.

- Carla (7/5): A basic, cheap but cheerful hotel - great for a quick stopover - Staff on reception was friendly and supportive, great parking facilities and close to local eateries for getting outside. Room was clean, and toiletries provided The view was of a tiled roof and no natural daylight, the room although clean was basic, small tv and no homely features such as pictures on the wall. Walls very thin so you could hear other rooms conversations. You get what you pay for which is a cheap hotel.

- Emma (6/5): Comfortable and reasonably priced 3* hotel in good location - Very comfortable bed. Room clean and a reasonable size. Staff keep the place clean but it could do with a lick of paint. Shower pressure was OK but body wash dispenser in the shower was hopeless. Take your own soap. Breakfast was overall OK. Cooked breakfast was very good but fruit juices were awful and the tea was weak and a bit cold. Pastries were small and unappetising looking. Overall the accommodation is what I would expect from a 3* property and the price paid. Tea and coffee at breakfast could be kept hotter. Day one it was brought fresh to the table which was great, Day Two it was kept in flasks and therefore only tepid. The place could do with brightening up and some fresh paint as it's a bit grey and tired to look at.

Mattress was fine, but we like a firmer mattress so not top marks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Having access to bar was good. Mattress could have been firmer.

- Mike (7/5): Great value budget hotel with excellent staff, - A great location and brilliant staff. The room was clean and tea, coffee and biscuits were there. Not a 5 star hotel - but not a 5 star price either. 10 minutes from Wakefield and 10 minutes from the M1. Nothing.
