- David (4/5): Disappointed ☹️ - The location was fine My room had Ants running around in the bedroom, the manager did offer two different rooms but as indicated due to my health I had to take one of the older rooms as the new rooms were too far from the facilities. The replacement room was ok but tired! I had a two night stay booked and the meal the first night was extremely poor, the fish was dried out and had clearly been heated up. I did reference this but nothing was done about it, I was still charged the full amount. Very disappointed with my stay at the hotel this time. Have been coming for years but will probably be my last due to this experience.

- Luke (5/5): Disappointed with sleep - Nice freindly breakfast room with plenty of choice, spa was clean and easy to use Sadly the room had a very very noisy radiator thermostat and did not sleep well. This really ruined our experience at this hotel. The noise was reported the following day , hopefully fixed before the next occupants arrived.

- Kiran (6/5): Pleasant place, with minor issues. - Location and the ambience in the public areas. The jet tub room was nice. Although the garden view wasn’t the best and lacked privacy. The double rooms didn’t come with water and looked very dated, although the Veda were comfortable. Room service took extremely long, esp when we requested bucket of ice and a few glasses. It took in excess of an hour to provide these. Staff although very smiley weren’t the best or gracious.
- Jane (3/5): Hugely disappointing - Location Poor for parking. Housekeeping standards not great and room not been properly re-stocked before I checked in. Breakfast advertised as from 7.30 - took 15 mins before I got coffee -because it was given to someone else - even though I had been first in the Oak room area. Breakfast wasn’t fully laid out, no hot plates so hot breakfast went cold quickly. They’d run out of glasses at the bar in the evening (wedding party in) so drinks served in a paper cup. I’d asked for a pint of blackcurrant and soda, this was also put in a paper cut that clearly wasn’t a pint so I had to ask for another one as I was being charged for a pint. There was nowhere to sit so I took drinks back to my room. Room been serviced but not re-stocked. Was unable to adjust temperature on the shower that was cold. Fortunately Room 16 had a bath which did run quickly. The tap on the sink was really stiff with some limescale. The bed could have done with a mattress topper as it wasn’t comfortable. Staff member who later brought items not re-stocked in the room was very pleasant. When I woke up this morning there were around 6 ants crawling over the bedside cabinet. At breakfast, though there were tables of 2 available in the main area, I was put in the bar - it was though I had been put in exile. After I’d been to get cooked breakfast, I returned to my sad, solitary table at the bar to find a member of the housekeeping team hoovering - despite it being clear someone was having breakfast there. I had to cover my food with napkin until the hoovering stopped which - to be fair to the staff member - she did stop. There were crisps on the floor, some rubbish including a straw that I picked up off the floor. The glass table in front of the sofa in the lounge was covered in dust and, though a small post of fresh (though wilting) flowers was in my table the water was stagnant. I have taken photos.
- B2954PFnataliek (8/5): Overnight treat with family - Beautiful hotel with super friendly staff. We stayed for 1 night on a dinner, b&b rate with a couple of spa treatments for mum's birthday (they left some chocolate treats in her room which was cute). Food in the Brasserie was mixed, my tacos on the starter were a bit chewy rather than crisp and just like supermarket bought ones, but the filling was tasty. A couple of main courses weren't hot enough, so we had to send them back, but overall everyone enjoyed it. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't explore any of the grounds, as they looked really lovely, but it was all closed for maintenance. The spa was ok, on the small side for such a large hotel, only enough room for about 6 people in the sauna and steam room, but mum said it was the best massage she's had in ages! Bedrooms were fab - spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall a lovely break.

- Carol (7/5): Comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, especially the breakfast staff - Lovely building. Loved the wedding venue. Room was very good, clean and spacious Finding it. The only way in we found was past a lot of very high end properties. It was a narrow road which made it difficult if a vehicle came in the opposite direction. If there is another way to the hotel it might be an idea to inform future guests by maybe a map?

We arrived at reception and was greeted by Julie who was an absolute delight. Very professional and attentive with all the information she gave us. The spa was good and the relaxation room was nice too. The food was amazing and the portion sizes were more than we could manage. Breakfast was excellent and delicious too. Linda and Caz were brilliant on both days and are a credit to Moor hall. Needless to say we will definitely be coming back after our experience. Thanks again

Jake our waiter was exceptional brilliant and even had time to chat to us about our stay, and in turn we had a chance to find out more about him and his thoughts on certain dishes. He was attentive to our needs and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Booked through the hotel and got a 4 poster bedroom, £38 dinner voucher each free bottle of wine in the room and full use of the spa facilities for £204. The £38 easily included a 2 course meal of which there was plenty to choose from. The service in the oak brasserie restaurant was excellent Thank you to Elia and Ruby who served us. As it was a birthday treat it was made extra special by an addition to my dessert of a plate with happy birthday written on it.

My husband booked a package which is so reasonable for the price, it included food for the night time which was unreal as always. We were served by Georgia who was super tentative , smiley and friendly which goes along way - thanks Georgia! We had a free room upgrade with chocolates in the room too which is such a lovely touch that you don’t often get from places! The spa was lovely and relaxing, with free testers to try too which were lush!

The cakes were delicious and very fresh. Service was great - very attentive but not intrusive. We were put in the snug as there were a couple of wakes booked in the restaurants- this was a lovely, cosy room and very quiet. Would definitely recommend.

I’m incredibly grateful for their support and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Moor Hall for both personal and professional events. The level of service truly made all the difference.

Everything else was bad - we booked an expensive spa hotel stay but when we arrived there was absolutely no spa bookings available, no treatments, no access to the facilities at all! There was no restaurant availability for dinner on either night of our stay! The hotel was 40 mins and £29 in an uber into the city to eat both ways costing us much more than expected but no spa access at all - so we were stuck in countryside with nothing at all to do for 2 days - terrible, overpriced costing £470 for 2 nights in a room that was less equipped and less comfortable than the premier inn. Staff were delightful which was a saving grace but the only reason I didn’t make more of a complaint as we felt sorry for them - terrible awful rip-off and falsely claimed facilities Everything

- leanna212 (8/5): Friendly Staff & Excellent Food - After reading reviews we requested to stay in what's known as the 'back hotel' to avoid hearing noise from the car park. We had a superior room which was pleasant enough but it had a view of an old fence. The windows were covered with decent blinds though so over all the room was cozy. We did have to fix the curtain which was missing a hook so was hanging off where the curtains draw together. It was a minor annoyance but easily fixed. The bed was unfortunately quite sloppily made with the sheets not tucked in on one side. These issues aside, the room was clean and tidy and we were given complimentary crisps and drinks which were a nice surprise. The meal we had at The Oak Restaurant was very tasty. Staff were observant and attentive. The food was exceptionally good. The decor in the downstairs corridor needs a revamp. Currently plastic panelling which doesn't do the environment justice. They have added some more modern features but need to 'make the leap' to fully achieve striking the balance between traditional and contemporary aesthetics. The breakfast was good with some of the best poached eggs I've ever tasted. The bacon could have done with being cooked in smaller batches to avoid the leathery texture. The grapefruit was really nice. I regretted not trying the honey which is apparently local. Spa facilities were nice with lovely windows and outlook. The gym was very well equipped with modern equipment much of which looked like it had barely been touched. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay here and had would return. The best features are the friendly staff and good food.

Been more than once which speaks for itself as well as booking for my son to go there to .We have busy lives and this hotel is the ideal place to get away perfectly . Situated @ the back of a golf course , beautiful setting .The hotel inside is inviting , especially thier restaurant The Oak room brasserie.The food is cooked &presented to perfection . Again the staff are what make the brasserie complete ,attentive -friendly service . Immaculate hotel with decor to compliment it's period style .Would recommend obviously to anyone that hasn't booked to go to this hotel yet .You won't be disappointed to stay here by any means ..

- 413DavidD413 (10/5): A beautiful hotel with wonderful service. - We chose Moor Hall Hotel to stay overnight and take an evening meal in their restaurant on the occasion of our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The lady on reception was very pleasant and efficient, keeping a cheerful demeanour throughout the process. Our room was spacious and clean and have verything that we required for our overnight stay. We had a drink in the bar after we had unpacked and the excellent and attentive experience was continued by the serving staff. We had previously booked our table in the restaurant for 7.00pm, se when we arrived, we were shown to our table. The taking of the order and the servive thereafter was excellent. All of the staff throughout the hotel were just a complete joy and indicated a thorough staff selection and training by the hotel owners. In particular, our waitresses for the evening in the restaurant (Niamh and Elia) were excellent! The breakfast staff were really welcoming and chearful, explaing everything at length and ensuring all was well with our breakfast (it was delicious). At checkout, we were again greating by a chearful and efficient young lady to see us off after an Anniversay that we will remember with fondness. We will definitely return!

- Robert (8/5): Excellent apart from the closure of the spa without notification. - This is the third time we’ve stayed at the hotel and spa in the last two months, we love it. Unfortunately the spa was closed on the Monday and Tuesday for refurbishment, there was no mention of this on booking.com so it was very disappointing as we paid full price. The shower in our room was also overflowing because the plug hole was filled with hair! All the staff were exceptionally professional and friendly (a special mention to Ruby in the restaurant and Karen at breakfast) with the exception of one staff member on reception who was a little brusque.

It was everything I wanted it to be and more, a lovely quiet comfortable room ,with all the little extras that make it special. A lovely selection for breakfast, with poached eggs that made a nice change from fried. The 2 waitresses in the breakfast room Jo and Karen were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, to make sure you had enough. We ate in the Oak Brasserie on both nights and they had a very nice menu and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly use this Hotel again.

On arrival the receptionist was lovely and explained what room was booked; was surprise for bday from hubby, so found out on checkin, which was fine. Room was 4 poster which was good size the bathroom was VERY tired, taps were covered in lime scale. Saw next doors room and bathroom was more modern so the hotel are obviously aware there's rooms that require refurbishment. Shame there wasnt a mini fridge in room to keep things chilled. I had a lovely happy birthday plate with a bit of fruit and chocolates and a birthday card which was a lovely touch. The bar was lovely and we went into a little side room which was very peaceful until a large family came in who were lovely which wasnt an issue. I had a glass of white wine which took an age as bless the barman was new he didnt know the wines then couldn't see the open bottle. Tried to make the mood lighter and as there was a drop of wine left in the bottle and as the server had spilt some from my serving I asked what are you going to do with that little drop? And the new server asked his colleague who in mine and my husbands opinion was quite rude and said "who ever pays for it!" No smile or anything. I hate having mixed glasses of wine so as we were there for 2 nights I asked my husband to get me a bottle of wine. He came back with bottle of wine without a wine cooler!! Unlike everyone else who had a white bottle of wine. I had to go back to the bar and the staff didn't really seem to understand why it had annoyed me that I had to ask for the cooler. The new bar person did apologise in the end. We then went for a meal - what an experience! Husband had beef wellington which the deconstructed element wasnt an issue for him but the mash was cold the veg was cold. I had scallops with prawns and the prawns I think smelt like gone off fish and the scallops were also cold (didnt try the prawns) I also ordered the potato Bravas and again they were cold. The waitress was so apologetic offered alternatives and took the food off the bill. But as it was such an upsetting experience we decided to just go to bed had the packet of crisps that were in the room and didnt venture into the bar or restaurant again. The spa- the massage was OK, NOT worth £95 the beautician had really long false nails and every so often caught my skin and my husband also said the same he also said he thought she was on her phone as he could hear nails tapping when there was nothing going on in the session. Overall a disappointing experience. The pool wasnt very warm, the steam room didnt have any steam on the 2 times we went to go in the sauna was ok, not huge but that wasnt a real issue for us. However the breakfast was delightful. The food was hot and tasty. There were lots of options smoked salmon lots of pastries you can also ask for freshly made scrambled eggs, omelette and other things. Tea and coffee boiling hot too all the staff were fantastic too. It was really busy on the Sunday and they had got a table outside the restaurant with tea, coffee, juices and pastries so we could sit and wait for a table to become available. Just great idea to prevent (I hope) guests getting frustrated. The reception and breakfast staff all deserve 5 stars.

Harriet, Layla and Becky on reception were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The gym was well equipped and the classes I attended were brilliant. The staff I met, Paul, Dylan, Lulu and the Manager Matt were all very knowledgeable and encouraging. What a fantastic place with an amazing team.... a definite 10 out of 10.

From the impressive drive up to this Spa hotel through the grounds we knew we were in for a treat. The reception staff were so very welcoming with big smiles and friendly service, just what you want when you arrive after a long journey. Our Superior room was ready for us to start our weekend escape. The decor a mix of tradition with a twist of modern qualities was perfect for this period property. We unpacked and straight off to enjoy the spa facilities we had booked in advance. The pool, the steam room and sauna all part of the package were just perfect and so relaxing. The real surprise of the weekend though was the quality of the food in the Oak Room coupled with fantastic table service. Just simply excellent all round. Then the next gem was the following day at breakfast which was honestly perfect again coupled with faultless service. Very well done Moor Hall team we will definitely return and recommend you without any hesitation.

Had a small double which was ok, small, but good value for one night. Nice pool with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi to relax in. Delicious meal in the Brassiere, I had the Beef Wellington and enjoyed ever mouthful.

The reception and service was first class and the food was fantastic. There was a wide choice of both entrees and at the main buffet. The chef carving at the counter was friendly and professional. He catered well for my allergy and I felt confident. The quality of the meats and vegetables was superb and the portions were large. Having stopped going 12m ago, as we felt the quality had fallen, we will definitely be back now. Well done to all staff

- 882katej (10/5): Most enjoyable stay - Booked a Friday night dinner, b&b stay with Secret Escapes and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the room (159) was enormous with a lovely bathroom and a big double bed. Public spaces are beautiful and our diner in the Oak Room was very special (although we very easily went over the amount allowed for dinner). Breakfast was excellent too, although the coffee was a bit disappointing. Hotel was surprisingly quiet at night, considering how busy it was (lots of children) and we slept well. All in all, we were very impressed.

An alternative room was offered at a small cost to upgrade. The room allocated for the upgrade was lovely and met all our expectations. The cost of the upgrade was also good value. The only downside was that the coffee at breakfast on the first morning was extremely weak. However, this was sorted immediately, and fresh coffee was brought to us.

Simply amazing the room was spacious clean hot tub bath was amazing only a short walk back down to the restaurant, spa and bar. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is in such beautiful grounds that we sadly couldn't explore due to the rain. atmosphere in the hotel is perfect for a romantic trip. Hotel was very busy with events and functions however as soon as we shut the room door we couldn't hear any noise. Upon hearing we had just got engaged the staff were congratulating us and even gave us a free congratulations plate with chocolates and strawberries such a lovely touch. Simply amazing worth every penny

From start to finish it was absolutely perfect, everything we wanted was accommodated by our wedding coordinator Heather pre wedding and on the day Troy who were both exceptional.
