John (8/5): - Lovely hotel in the centre, close to shops, bars and restaurants Room 203 is on the corner of the front and side of the hotel and the noise from nearby restaurants and bars could be heard until midnight, it was very hot and when you opened the window the cooking smells from the hotel kitchen came into the room and the air con was not sufficient, so it is quite stuffy

Could not turn off bathroom heating or open window beyond 10cms (appreciate health and safety issues), so ended up with fan on all night. Rather negates other excellent environmental measures..fresh milk in jugs so no plastic, opportunity to reuse towels etc.

I took advantage of the complimentary breakfast which was very nice. The service was very good. There wasn't many places to go for an evening meal but that Guernsey for you. I would be very happy to stay again.

Mark (6/5): Comme ci, comme ca. - Although it’s in an excellent location, I do find the hotel a little old fashioned. As with last time, the Saturday evening staff were excellent and went out of their way to try and find me a taxi. However the Sunday morning reception staff, a make, seemed distinctly disinterested in helping me and didn’t seem to like me interrupting his TV show. The Moore’s lets itself down on details, such as some really poor repair work on the wall near my room which looked like a DIY job done by someone even less skilful than myself. Overall I would say the visit was OK.

Graham (8/5): - Our 4th visit to Moores Central, St Peter Port but possibly our last. The hotel is very well situated, avoiding the steeper hills. We stayed in Room 101 which was right at the front of the hotel so there was a bit of noise later at night and in the early mornings, otherwise an excellent, generously proportioned room. With food, we had breakfast each morning and that included an extensive continental buffet. However, we chose from the kitchen and this was variable. First morning excellent, second morning obviously kept warm for too long and third morning just about Ok. We had one lunch on the terrace (a crab sandwich and a prawn sandwich) both were generously filled and tasty. Otherwise we used the terrace for a mid-afternoon drink. My wife drinks zero alcohol (either lager, wine, Prosecco or gin) but here, the only choice was lager. Staff wise the room attendant was excellent. Very thorough but quick. The reception was well attended and helpful and the staff at breakfast were also good. The area that needs attention is the terrace. On a busy afternoon not enough staff and subsequently the ones that were there were flustered. I would have scored excellent for the staff if not for that. For my wife and myself we felt that the hotel had changed and is no longer what we are looking for. However, in fairness, most of the other guests (and their comments in the Visitors book) suggest that they were more than happy. Perhaps it is us who have changed!

Paul (8/5): Great hotel but left disappointed. - I've stayed in the hotel on many occasions over the past 6 years and have always found my experience to be first class. Unfortunately on this occasion water had come through the ceiling from the room above and had caused some of the ceiling tiles to fall down at 3am which caused me great stress and I couldn't get back to sleep. I informed the receptionist first thing the following morning and she was very apologetic. I appreciate this is a very rare occurrence and the hotel weren't at fault. but its a shame they still charged me full price for the night especially as I had stayed the previous night too. It won't stop me staying in the hotel again but I was very disappointed with the poor customer service.

A small fridge would be handy. Would like to be able to sit outside for drink in evening but otherwise excellent. Amazing location.

They refused to refund the difference between the room I paid for and the one I was given. Staff at the front desk were cold and rarely greeted or acknowledged us as we passed. Wifi was unreliable.

Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Moores Central is ideally located to explore St Peter Port from. The team were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. There was an issue with the lock on my door which was sorted out really quickly. I had a lovely meal on my first evening, and the range of options for breakfasts were great too.

Mark (4/5): Nice hotel, awful rest. - The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast good. I did not like the laundry being done by a very noisy team at 5:30 am outside my room. Shouting to each other and whistling merrily is not welcome at that time. I spoke to reception, who was less than sympathetic.
Tina (8/5): Great location, really central - Comfort rooms only have double beds not king-size (as stated on Hotel.com site). Had to move rooms twice; first room was like staff quarters in the attic with old pine furniture, second room was more modern but with a double bed and no fridge / coffee-making facilities. But, the third room was just right, quite Goldilocks! Large and comfortable although bathroom was a little tired. In the end, we were given a free upgrade (although I did think we were supposed to be given this anyway as a gold Hotels.com member, if hotel has availability - this is rarely done by hotels). Initial check-in was not particularly welcoming but staff in the Hideaway Bar were friendly and courteous. We also used the gym and hot-tub which was adequate and really useful in a very central location. Really excellent location for shopping and all the nearby excellent restaurants. Special shout out to Red/Rouge/Tinto restaurants where food, wine and service are impeccable.

My room was really comfortable and didn’t really feel like a hotel room … a cosy loft conversion with a beautiful view over the harbour. The only downside…it was a bit noisy as an extraction system was situated outside one window. It sort of felt like I was in a very nice cabin on a ferry boat. I’d probably request the same room if it was another one nighter, maybe not if I was staying for a while.

Verified traveler (6/5): - During our stay at Moore’s hotel on Saturday we found the staff in the reception rude abrupt and not helpful at all nearly every question was answered with a 1 word answer and also the bar and restaurant were closed from around 2-6 o’clock on Saturday afternoon which we found remarkable as we could not go for a drink or anything to eat also 11am checkout seemed very early most hotels are 12 o’clock, how ever we did had lunch there on Sunday and it was ok.

Tina (8/5): Central and comfortable - Location is very central so is not quiet, which is as you would expect. Bed is really comfortable but room got really hot during the night. Hotel has the welcome addition of Barkers Bar and Cellar which is brilliant fun and really smart. Cleaners did their best to ruin our lie in by shouting at each other outside our room door from quite early and they littered the hallway with cleaning paraphernalia causing a trip hazard as we were vacating the room. Overall though, it was a good stay and we would recommend it.
Verified traveler (6/5): Business trip... - Great location as its very close to the seafront, restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is clean but is also quite dated in places. The rooms could be better soundproofed as you can literally hear everything that goes on outside which can be annoying when you're trying to sleep. Also, the view outside my room was blocked by scaffolding as the hotel is currently having work done. It would've been nice if they had told me about this in advance! Apart from the issues above, it's a nice, decent hotel.

laura (10/5): Wonderful Hotel. - Great hotel, my fourth stay and always my first choice hotel on the island. Right in the middle of the main street however so quiet you wouldn't now. Food is great especially the breakfast, staff are so nice and polite. Never any need for complaints from me.

Ralph (10/5): A venue for a perfect holiday. - This was our 4th stay at Moore's Hotel, and again it came fully op to our expectations. The location is superb, being close to the main shopping area, and close to the harbour for boat trips to Herm and Sark.. Buses all over the island can be found easily from the hotel's location. The staff are very friendly and the food is second to none. We will go there again, I am sure.
LAURIE (8/5): Fine Hotel great location. - I rarely eat In Hotels except for Breakfast but this hotel was an exception, I had two evening meals over four nights at this Hotel and found the food great and reasonably priced, the breakfasts were also great. A really good central location with friendly and helpful staff. If I came again to Guernsey I would certainly use this Hotel.
Norman (8/5): - Moore's Hotel is a Guernsey institution. It is an elegant, lovely place to stay. The only reason I marked it down slightly has nothing to do with Moore's itself, but rather with the extraordinary level of noise that comes from a pub, the Prince of Wales, up the street. I am quite frankly surprised that the States of Guernsey allows such noise pollution until after 1:00 a.m. on the weekends. It was obnoxious to the point that I will probably not stay at Moore's again, which is a great pity!
Jill (10/5): Charming home away from home in St Peter Port - This is a lovely, well maintained, clean and charming old style hotel, within easy walking distance to the ferry terminal, buses, shops, cafes & tourist information office. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.

Nick (10/5): Right in the town centre. - Looked like a little hotel up a side street. Couldn't get more wrong if I tried. Once inside it goes in all directions. Lovely quiet snug bar by reception with plenty of very interesting local regulars. Above is a sunny 1st floor terrace bar/restaurant with staff who bend over backward to help you. A bit further along and you are into a very nice snack bar and down stairs there are two more bar/bistros. Right in the centre of the town and only 50 yards from the harbour.
Fiona (10/5): More than a 3* - Excellent hotel. Rooms must have been recently refurbished and bathroom too. Very high standard. Restaurant excellent value for money and staff very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

shane (10/5): Overnight stay with a meal in the Conservatory - Overnight stay in a suite, lovely and large with views across to Castle Cornet and a spa bath - coffee maker and fluffy bathrobes / slippers. Meal in the Conservatory was brilliant, and service was wonderful - highly recommended.

Comfortable 3 Star hotel - old building therefore nothing spacious but all clean Great location - no parking - off loading luggage can be an issue. Plenty of Free Parking down town fills quickly - if asked hotel provides Parking Permit extending overnight parking to 9:30am
