Guest Reviews
- Murray (10/5): - I The service for breakfast was too slow
- Teresa (8/5): - The Hotel is in a super position.
We ate in the hotel one night and the food was excellent. The room was very small. There was nowhere to hang the larger towels so we were unable to reuse them.
I thought I had booked a double room but apparently I hadn't ( it was twin)
- Pauline (5/5): A stay of two halves. - The room was newly refurbished. The staff in the adjoining pub and restaurant were very polite and professional. The main hotel was very dated and tired. The reception and breakfast staff were abrupt and lacking in customer service skills.
- Claire (8/5): - Location is fabulous, direct access to the beach which is golden sand and lovely.Location good for acces to other places along the coast.Hotel is good nice airy rooms great views albeit the decor is a little tired, Staff welcoming and helpful, food not the best. Would stay again but eat out. Food is not the best. There is a pub next door, food there is not great either. The location is what makes this a great place to stay
- stuart (4/5): -
- Christine (10/5): - All
- Susanne (9/5): Throughly enjoyed, would definitely return to stay again. - The location, beach, restaurant and pub. Pillows
- Pam (9/5): Great value for a five night stay. - All facilities were very good and thoroughly met expectations. The powerful, hot shower and extras such as bottled water and fresh milk in the room were much appreciated. The ability to take our evening meal in the adjacent (same owner) pub offered a change of scene and more variety.
- STEPHEN (10/5): lovely weekend break room with sea view relaxing - room great breakfast lovely staff friendly
- matthew (8/5): -
- patricia (8/5): - Disabled facility
- Linda (4/5): Disappointed - We had our room upgraded to a suit which was lovely
The fee was amazing. The food was very poor. Very little choice and basic. Had to send my main course back it was covered in cheese which wasn't mentioned on the menu. It was linguine and I'm sure it was washed with more sauce added then heated up in microwave as it was very very hot. The prawns were ro ck hard it was discussing. As I'm writing this I've realised a had a really bad stomach the next day which could of been caused by this food. The waitress was really grumpy all sittings. I heard other customers complaining about her.
- Phil (10/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): Good base for exploring the North Norfolk coast - Very nice breakfast with plenty of choices. Nice big room and good bathroom. Excellent location overlooking the Wash I advise speaking to reception before booking to ensure you get a room which suits your requirements. We didnt have a nice view and had to climb a myriad of little staircases to reach our room. This could be tricky for those with any mobility problems and also carrying luggage upstairs . The hotel is like a rabbit warren with many corridors.| There is a lift which only goes to the 1st floor
- Gill (8/5): -
- Nina (10/5): -
- Diane (9/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day stay. - The location, the views, the very friendly staff and value for money meals. Some of the decor was old and dated especially in our bedroom
- Ian (8/5): -
- Anthony (8/5): Enjoyed our stay but unfortunately weather very bad. - Breakfast very good.
Room not too bad.
Location good bb Better pillows probably softer.
No evening entertainment.

- Suzanne (9/5): - Beautiful location, lovely staff, clean and spacious rooms.
- Andrzej (9/5): Ideal location next to the beach with a great pub next door - Location, free parking, ev charges, large spacious room with very large bed, towels soft and fluffy refreshments in room were very good good quality coffee and fresh milk also bottles of water It was quite hot inside the room and not easy to cool down
- susan (8/5): - Excellent breakfast loads of choice
- rowe (8/5): Would come again. - Very good Evening meal was a little disappointing. Expect better . But breakfast made up for it.

- Ines (10/5): Amazing. I'm coming back - It was a wonderful hotel right next to the beach. Pet friendly and very nice people. Everything was perfect
- Julia (9/5): - Fabulous location - right on the coastal path
- Gerald (10/5): 4 night getaway - I would recommend Le Strange for any length of stay. I can't think of anything I didn't like
- Mary (9/5): A very enjoyable location perfectly situated for access to beach and stunning views. - Excellent location. Attractive room with sea views. Dining room used for breakfast was dark and uninviting, unlike the other rooms. There also seemed to be a serious staff shortage on our second day.
- Sunandan Dhar (9/5): -
- Nathan (7/5): - All round good The bed was two beds but together and no good to sleep on at all
- Paul (9/5): Would LOVE to do it again! - Lovely friendly helpful staff. Fabulous location. Lovely facilities. Dog friendly. Delicious food in pub. Great stay. Thank you. I
- howard (8/5): Lovely sea view - The location was perfect, fabulous view of the sea from our window and the staff were friendly and helpful Although the room was clean and comfortable it was a little outdated, wallpaper had started to peel in places, bathroom was a bit shabby
- Wendy (7/5): Enjoyable - Breakfast OK but quite expensive
- Diane (8/5): - Great location and views Unhappy staff
- karen (8/5): -
- Andrew (9/5): We had a good time. Room was great. - Room was lovely and cleaned & restocked with tea, biscuits & water daily. Location was great. Parking was good. Reception staff were lovely. We would stay there again but probably room only. Would have liked the bar in the hotel to have been open and serving some food instead of going next door to the over expensive Mariners. £91.79 for what was basically pie and mash with cabbage times 2, 2 puddings 1glass of wine and 2 beers. Only got caught the once. Some were eating in the hotel although we were told to go next door. Breakfast was okay but sausage was way too herby for my liking.
- Fiona (9/5): - Fabulous views, very comfortable peaceful room. Good breakfast. Generous complimentary tea and coffee. Fab location to the beach and the pub next door very good food and friendly staff. Breakfast was a bit slow arriving on both days.
- vikki (10/5): Relaxing - Helpful staff Dated could
Do with updating but all clean and pleasant
- Nick (7/5): -
- Alan (8/5): -
- Loraine (10/5): -
- susan (8/5): - The location is fab and the staff were great too.
The room was bigger than I expected so that was nice . The bed was a little hard for me
- Heather (8/5): -
- Charlotte (6/5): Great value for money right on the coast - Lovely location, very reasonable price, and good cleanliness and friendly staff All quite dated interiors, but perfectly fine.
Quite a lot of noise through bedroom walls and to the hallway.
- Anthony (8/5): Very pleasant nice and relaxing - very pleasant overlooking the beach. Nice and peaceful
- Malcolm (8/5): Great - Great view Nothing
- Ben (9/5): -
- Tom (8/5): -
- Theresa (7/5): - Location was fabulous Breakfast was cold
Kettle in room was full of limescale and wouldn't turn off
- Sue (10/5): Lovely traditional hotel, great food, breakfast at the hotel and evening meal at the mariner - Lovely traditional hotel Nil
- Andrew (6/5): Excellent location, comfortable room but Dune Bar closed and restaurant menu disappointing - Outstanding location and a very comfortable room with a sea view and a modern bathroom. Bottled water was provided each day and ample free parking. We were looking forward to having morning coffee and 'tipples watching the sun go down' in the Dune Bar. Unfortunately it was closed and will not open until May, despite the hotel website showing that it is open from 09:00 to 18:00 every day. The sample restaurant menu on the website was really attractive but in reality, the likes of duck, belly pork and salmon dishes were replaced with burger and chips, fish and chips and gammon and chips. More like a bar menu. In spite of the booking.com 'fine print' stating 'Please note that dogs are not accepted anywhere in the main hotel or in public areas', the hotel actually encourages owners to take dogs into the hotel main bar. For people like myself that have an allergy to dogs, this made the bar 'off-limits' which was very disappointing.
- bishopp (9/5): - Location excellant lovely view of the sea.
Mariners Bar great for a beer, restaurant very clean and plenty of room. STAFF all very pleasant and helpful excellent breakfast.
- Mark (9/5): Amazing location, friendly staff, interesting old hotel. - Location and interesting building Some bits are ready for a refurbishment.
- Norman (8/5): Good stay with some drawbacks - Pleasant location and environment. Room clean and well equipped. Warm. Bathroom was cramped and a bit difficult for my wife to use (partially disabled). Booking.com should have advised BEFORE booking that the co-joined Mariner pub was closed for refurbishment.
- Wendy (9/5): - A friend and myself had 2 single rooms. Often single rooms are pretty poor but both of these were very good...one even had a sea view. One appeared to be above ?kitchen equipment which was quite noisy so couldn't have windows open. The hotel was very quiet. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is wonderful! Noise from ?kitchen equipment.
- Penny (10/5): - Everywhere was exceptionally clean with very friendly and accommodating staff. The bathroom tiles were gleaming. The towels provided were very thick and fluffy and best of all, the bathroom mirror was heated to prevent steaming up. The auto shut off on the kettle was faulty and didn't work. I put the kettle on prior to getting into the shower but when I returned the room had filled with steam.
- Gary (10/5): - Lovely quiet location and staff accommodating.food on par for cost. An enjoyable stay, thank you.
- A Rodwell (8/5): -
- Janet (8/5): We had an enjoyable stay and enjoyed watching the sun go down from the terrace bar. - Stunning location. Pub next door does good food. Would have preferred a double room with sea view. Pillows were very hard!
- Vicky (8/5): - Staff friendly and helpful
Lovely location Slow breakfast service
We ate in the adjoining pub/restaurant ate fish and chips the batter on the fish was overcooked and hard to eat however the fish inside was really tasty.
- Graham (9/5): Wouldn’t hesitate to rebook again as found a perfect base for a great trip away with perfect views across the dunes. - Superb location and everything you could need for a holiday away from it all Nothing
- Liza (10/5): -
- Martin (9/5): We had a lovely weekend at Le Strange arms - Location Small amount of Scaffolding
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Lovely stay x - Very accommodating helped me with. A extra night and a lovely room The room 004 is beautiful by far the best I’ve stayed in at le strange
- Jenny (8/5): -
- Raymond Smith (10/5): - The room was great with a large walk-in shower and his & hers sinks , plenty of storage, and an exceptionall view . Nothing
- Sophie (8/5): Perfect location. Comfy but some rooms might need a little improvement. - Perfect location. Comfy hotel, we enjoyed our stay thanks. Very comfortable but a little bit « old ». Nothing too bad, you can just feel that some room might need a little improvement.
For example the floor of our room was not straight, it was a little surprising.
- catherine (6/5): Amazing weather . Ideal location very relaxing and despite room I would stay again. - Location friendly staff Room needed decorating . Paper coming off walls . Windows dirty . Faulty wall sockets.
- STEPHEN (8/5): -
- Neal (9/5): The staff are very helpful & made you feel very welcome, I have stayed here before. - I did not choose to have any breakfast! The hotel bed is exceptional hard & did give me slight back acre.
- Annette (10/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Quick break to see the sea, lovely beach - Excellent location, comfy beds. Lack of vegan options
- Miranda (8/5): A nice old hotel with character. We had a very pleasant stay - Staff were friendly although we didn’t see many staff members around.
Food was nice in the restaurant but the atmosphere was very quiet. We preferred to eat at the pub next door.
- Anthony (10/5): Enjoyable - No No

- Ian (8/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): -
- Caroline (7/5): I had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I will return. - The hotel is a great base for exploring North Norfolk. Some gorgeous beach walks, Sandringham, RSPB Titchwell, Brancaster, Wells-next-to Sea and much more! I loved waking up to see the Sea. Fabulous sunsets and great location. There was some building work happening, on a facility near the hotel (unsure if part of hotel) noise of this was annoying at times.
- Victoria (9/5): -
- Madelaine (8/5): -
- Williams (10/5): - Location
- Sinitta (8/5): -
- Imogen (9/5): Close to the beach and many attractions - Right on the beach. Nice views. Restaurant snx bar on site. Staff very kindly moved us when we were out by scaffolding.
The staff always greeted us and did anything asked.
Yes the rooms were dated but actually that made it more charming.
Breakfast was good.
Lots to do including a fabulous arts and crafts barn across the road. Didn’t like that said two EV chargers when actually only one.
