Guest Reviews
- Karen (7/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): We stayed for two nights and wished we could’ve stayed longer. - Culver House Hotel is in the perfect location for the beach, pub and local shops. Great location to explore the area.
The room is comfortable and clean. Plenty of towels including beach towels.
- Patricia (8/5): - Location, well equipped, Everything was good
- Ged (9/5): - What a great weekend. A brilliant location with good accommodation. A very relaxing break was had.
- Annette (10/5): -
- Katherine (10/5): - Amazing location with lovely views and easy walking distance to places to eat and beach walks.
Great information provided by the hosts before we arrived about the area and what to do, which was really helpful.
Lovely apartment and a great stay thank you. Nothing!
- Simon (9/5): - Great location and facilities to match
- Heather (10/5): Looking forward to a longer stay next time - I loved the proximity to the beach and walking path. It was comfortable and cozy. Sitting next to the large windows with a view of the garden and a cup of tea was just what I needed to relax. I had neglected to realize that there is not a grocery store/market nearby, so next time I’ll know to pick up some basics on my way, but this was a minor thing. The remoteness is more of a positive aspect, and there’s a good pub just down the lane, so no complaints.
- Barbara (6/5): - Geräumiges cottage, gut bei schlechtem wetter😄 Das Badezimmer ist klein und alt. Da sehen wir grosses verbesserungspotential.
- William (9/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): - Really like this place. Well equipped , nice size , right near the beach. Very helpful and friendly manager. Great for a seaside escape . Very limited public transport so was hard to get around to the peninsulas many attractions without own car. Only one taxi company that is often booked out and no Uber unless u get very lucky. So main advice is bring a car if u can.
- sally (9/5): Stunning views - Amazing sea views, balcony overlooking sea, 2 min walk to the beach
Comfortable beds
Everything you needed in the apartment
Beautiful area and lovely local pub a few mins walk away The smaller bedroom backed onto the Nextdoor room and their tv and talking kept me up until late both nights even though they weren’t being loud
The larger room was ok
Lots of windy steps up to room, hard if you have a lot of luggage
Despite this I would return for the stunning views and proximity to the beach!
- Siwan (8/5): Excellent hosts, incredible location, superb view. -
- Robert John (8/5): - Great location.
Lovey accommodation with great outlook to the sea.
Nice pub nearby.
Good walks in the area. Internet a bit patchy at times. But only a minor issue.
- Jesse (8/5): Great location and space to move around. - Location and space is great. Severe lack of plugs which I feel could and should be rectified. Needs updating in various places. Some inconsistencies eg can’t have one window open due to safety, yet there is a sizzling and faulty lamp (electrical hazard).
- MARTIN (10/5): Quality accommodation in an excellent location - Location , very practical, well equipped. Towel quality & number of them excellent
Nice little touches ( bedside tissues) Bedroom doors a little sticky to open
- TRACY (9/5): -

Easy to find

- Elizabeth (9/5): Super comfortable, clean, bright, spacious accommodation just a 'stones throw' from the beach! - Clean, spacious, modern accommodation which gave us everything we needed for a really comfortable stay! I guess if I'm being really fussy, it would have been nice to have had a bath ... but everything else was perfect!

- David (10/5): It was lovely, the perfect location for a birthday treat. - The location was excellent with sea view and a short walk from the beach. The apartment was lovely; very well equipped and tastefully decorated. We loved the colourful soft furnishings. And the very fluffy bath towels. Nothing.
- Jonathan (8/5): Perfect spot for a quiet hol - Great location right by the beach!
- Kathryn (7/5): Gorgeous location - Gorgeous location and easy walk to the pub and over to Horton. Have stayed here many times before with family, although usually upstairs. Shower door is narrow. Lack of plug sockets.
Freezer didn't freeze. Noisy in the morning with people coming and going.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): An excellent apartment in a great location - Easy parking, right outside the apartment. Excellent, comfortable apartment with everything you could ever require. Brilliant location, about 50 meters from the beach. It has a pub, the Ship Inn, a hundred yards along the road, which has good food and great beers. It is local to other great beaches such as Rhossili and Three Cliffs Bay. Poor TV reception
- Carolyn (8/5): Superb, and would definitely stay there again. - Owners and location were superb. Apartment was very well equipped with modern and stylish equipment and furniture. The bed frame was squeaky, which woke us up every time one of us turned over in bed!
- Karen (10/5): Lovely location and great view - It had everything we needed. Well spaced out. View out of back window but couldn’t be helped!!!!
- Trudie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Jax (10/5): Lovely accommodation in stunning location. - Beautiful apartment in a stunning location. The accommodation has everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay. - Sandra (10/5): Exceptional in every way - Stunning location, spotlessly clean, all essentials and more included, great communication, friendly helpful hosts. 10/10
- David (10/5): Great location - Location and garden Nothing
- Michael (9/5): A wonderful apartment in a fabulous location - The property had everything you would want for a short stay away and more. The kitchen was small, but purposeful and the dishwasher was very appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the whole place was immaculate. The views were magnificent. In some places, the property looked like it could do with a few touch-ups of paint.
- Alastair (10/5): As above - Great location, clean and a few personal touches make a difference Nothing
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous apartment with balcony overlooking the sea, minutes from the beach. Beautifully furnished with everything you need, thoughtful touches, and such a superb location!
- David (8/5): What a view - Location is 2nd to none
- Kelvin (9/5): A nice location . Ideal for beach and local pubs . - Its location and cleanliness. A supply of milk, tea bags and coffee Nothing
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamsin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikki (9/5): Great location , friendly hosts, would go back in summer - Location Would prefer a seperate kitchen
- Stephen (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable. - Comfortable and very clean apartment and the owner was very friendly showing me around. Location was perfect and we both had a very relaxing break. Loved the extra touches e.g. milk, tea and coffee provided and even a bottle of sparkling wine to see in the new year which was a lovely touch. Will look to come again. Nothing.
- Phil (8/5): I would stay again! - Very functional. Great views! Handy for the pub! Shower could have been a bit more powerful.
- Mother (8/5): Loved it and would stay again. - Fabulous location - almost on the beach. Great parking and a walk from the pub.
The hosts were really friendly and the communication was excellent. The arrival pack was a nice treat and we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. There was nothing I didn't like. It was comfortable and really clean.
- Rob (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Everything fir the perfect stay - The hosts had thought of everything! Providing all the basics needed for a pleasant stay. The apartment was cosy, with lovely sea view, plenty of fluffy towels and very clean. Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): Fantastic stay in a well thought out apartment with stunning views in a great location - Absolutely fantastic stay, the apartment (suite 7, second floor) is perfect for two people. The accommodation is well laid out and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Some nice little touches helped us settle in immediately, such as some milk in the fridge and tea/coffee in the cupboard on our arrival. The provision of plenty of towels plus beach towels was greatly appreciated (especially as someone with long hair who needs a whole separate towel just for the hair!), and gave us the incentive to take a paddle in the sea which is just a stones throw away from the front door.
The view from the balcony was stunning, and the sound of the waves at night was lovely. Being at the end of the road in a little village it was always peaceful, despite being opposite a youth hostel which gave us no trouble at all, and just a short walk from the pub which had excellent food and a selection of local beers.
We were pleased that there was parking reserved for guests of the hotel as parking was otherwise quite limited in the nearby streets. However, there was a bus stop with links to Rhosili, Oxwich and Swansea just a short walk up the road so easy to access by public transport.
I was so delighted to see that the daily tide times, weather forecast, plus a bus timetable, was pinned to the noticeboard in the communal hall each day, this information was very helpful.
The location was perfect for taking local walks to nearby sites of interest, along the coast path or even just along the beach which was spotless and practically empty. The location is also very convenient for visiting other areas of Gower with Rhosili about 15 minutes away, and Weobley Castle about the same. There is a chip shop a short walk away down the footpath and the helpful visitor guidebook provided in the accommodation lists lots of places to eat or visit, plus some ideas for walks in the area.
I can't rate this place highly enough, I'm only sad I had to leave. Nothing I can think of
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb -
- Dave (7/5): Loved the location but my partner found it too limiting, not even one local shop open. - The South facing large windows at the front let in lots of light. The kitchen area was to a good standard. The location just behind the sand dunes excellent. The 'leather' seating was slippery making it difficult to sit up in. A small table is needed between the 'bucket' seats to put cups on. The bed style is a bad choice for such a small room. The plinth taking up space that was needed to move around the bed.
The bathroom was very cramped, the toilet too close to the wall. The bi-fold shower door was a good idea allowing some of the shower space to be dual use. To be fair the limited design old building made it difficult to do much else .
- Leigh (8/5): Great location for walks and sight seeing. - Couldn’t beet the location. Views over the bay from the property were fantastic. You can be on the beach in less than a minute. Fantastic. Short walk to a good pub and chip shop. The power kept tripping out but that could have been the thunder storm.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Gavin (9/5): Superb -
- Jon (9/5): Perfect base for a long weekend by the sea - Excellent self contained suite
- Robert (8/5): Very enjoyable short break on the beach. - Location
Unique property
Very near the bars & restaurants
Hosts
The friendliness of the locals Nothing to comment
- Stephanie (10/5): Would happily stay again. - Excellent location; family camping nearby. brilliant facilities. Nothing!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (9/5): We arrived a bit stressed but left very relaxed. - A lovely comfortable place and we enjoyed the garden seating area especially the envious looks from passers by. We know the area well but I can imagine visitors being chuffed with the location. The bed was comfortable but we kept stubbing our toes on the bed frame.
- Michael (10/5): Excellent position - Position and facilities prices Price
- Stephen (9/5): A lovely peaceful short break - wish we could have stayed longer - Almost on the beach, good coastal walks, comfortable flat, friendly and helpful staff The bus service not going to Port Eynon on Sundays (our arrival day - our car broke down on our journey there so we were on public transport). That said, a local resident seeing us walking with our cases from Scurlage offered us a lift 😀 .
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (9/5): Will return! - A stone's throw from the beach and a short hop in the opposite direction to a pub with excellent food. A great location if you want to walk the coastal path or just to relax. Highly recommended,
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Great location for visiting various beaches at the tip of the Gower Peninsula. Cozy apartment with everything we needed for our stay. We didn't dislike anything.
- Carol (9/5): an ideal place to stay for the two of us in every way - the location was very near the beach which was clean and lovely; our view was good as it overlooked trees and sand dunes nothing to dislike
- Valerie (3/5): Disappointing - Good location The standard of the furniture, and bed linen were all low quality. There was an overpowering air freshener trying to disguise the drain smell.
- Connor (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, friendly staff and clientele, everything you need for a short stay in a lovely part of the world.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed 3 days, 2 nights. Perfect location near beach and coastal path. Suite 7 is just right for couples - clean, cozy and with a nice view. The owners are lovely and accommodating. Will definitely book again and will recommend to our friends! None
- Toni (10/5): Fantastic -
- David (9/5): Great base for exploring Gower. - Location friendly host local pubs All good
- Rebecca (8/5): Enjoyable Stay. Great place to spend a week-end by the sea. Would stay again-lovely peaceful place. - Amazing location with great view of the beach & sea (first floor room)
Pub nearby
Parking
Fresh milk provided
Good quality towels Squeaky bedroom door and sometimes being able to hear people above/next door walking around and coming up and down the stairs
- Ian (8/5): Great stay, would stay again - Excellent location, nice views, close to sea and very helpful and friendly owners.
The facilites were good and we appreciated the little extras available such as milk left in fridge and beach towels for use. We were booked in the top appartment for the view, but we found the stairs steep and narrow.
No reflection on the property, but the only other issue we had was the local pub ( Ship inn) whose food was very poor.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional - Location next to Porth Enyon. Beach and pub 5mns
- Kyriakos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Perfect location for a quiet get away. - Right beside the dunes. Views onto the dunes and sea. Quiet and relaxing stay. The apartment had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Met by Mark on arrival, who made sure we had key information. No fuss just easy.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (9/5): Lovely - The location, peace and quiet and cleanliness was exceptional Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): Great sea views from lounge and both bedrooms - Great sea views from all rooms. Comfy sofa Clean apartment. Easy parking right outside. Fresh coffee, milk and teabags a nice touch. A lovely relaxing weekend. Bed was ok but I prefer firmer pillows and these were too soft for me. Stairs up to apartment a bit tired.
- Philip (10/5): A very comfortable, well-equipped property with lovely views. - Fantastic views from the apartment, well equipped, comfortable and clean. Minutes walk from The Ship which served excellent food and beers. Easy parking outside the front door.
Very friendly hosts.
Looking forward to another visit.
- Nicky (10/5): We’ll be back! - The sea view and balcony. Friendly host. Everything you could need was provided. A continuous banister rail would have been helpful.
- Slater (9/5): Very good accomodation, will use again if we return to the Gower - Location, cleanliness, we got an upgrade. We were met by the host even though we were expecting to use codes Very minor point, kitchen tap set too low.
- Chris (8/5): Great for a weekend on the Gower and with access to Swansea - Close walk to a beautiful sandy beach and next to a good pub / restaurant ( the ship)
- Marianne (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (10/5): Beautiful place - Place right on the beach, easy parking in front of the hotel, attractions nearby, beautiful views from the balcony, apartment well equipped, friendly and helpful owners. We have had a wonderful experience
- Joseph (7/5): Great location. - Fabulous location. Lovely sea views from the apartment. The apartment is tired, and the decor seems inspired by Victorian era austerity... It could be much cosier and a nicer place to spend time, but it all feels very clinical. Even some nice warm lighting would help, rather than stark white LEDs everywhere. Bed was not great.
- Moira (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and clean amazing view good location for food. The fact we had to go home....
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Location good ,parking, sea view
Kitchen and sitting area and separate bedroom with a comfy bed and bathroom (shower) good.
Met host when we arrived to pick up key.
On second floor so some stairs to climb.
Price ok
