- Carly (10/5): Beautiful country location - Absolutely beautiful location. If you dream of living in the countryside this is the place for you. Only a 10 minute drive to nearest shops, I wake up really early and was lucky to have 2 little deer to watch from the window along with pheasants, Hares and horses in the distance. The lodge was perfect, clean and comfortable. You get a welcome back with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would 100% come back again
- Maria (10/5): Perfect lodge for chilling out, communication was excellent - Lovely and secluded
- Christina (10/5): Beautiful, spacious lodge, rural, excellent for a weekend get away! - It's a beautiful, rural lodge, great weekend getaway, the fire was lovely, the lodge was very warm and comfortable and the welcome pack was great - thank you ! a tiny thing would be a bath mat for the bathroom as the floor in there is cold, but this is really a tiny thing :)
- Billy (10/5): Perfect getaway - What a lovely get away. Everything has been thought of. Everything was spotless and very thoughtfully laid out. Fab shower and the bed was really comfortable.
Nothing has been overlooked. Just perfect thank you Nothing
- Julie (10/5): Very relaxing stay in a beautiful Lodge and setting - Peaceful and beautiful area. The Lodge was warm and had everything you could need for a weekend away. Fitted out beautifully, clean and luxurious-feeling. Nothing except the rain!
- Mojo67 (10/5): - Spacious Lodge, got everything you need, clean, great facilities and very good and easy communication with the owners. Absolutely fab and highly recommended. N/A
- Dan (10/5): 10/10 Property: Would book again in a heartbeat - Gary and Gill were just the right amount of accomodating, they provided clear and concise instructions on how to access the property and other amenities (e.g. WiFi) and were incredibly prompt with their replies should you have and questions.
The facilities were exactly what you'd expect and everything you'd want. We travelled with a 1 year old and they very quickly sourced a cot for her. Because this is a property rather than a traditional hotel you'll also have access to a fully equipped kitchen in an open plan space which gives you a lot more freedom. The welcome pack is also an incredibly nice touch boasting bacon, eggs, bread, butter as well as an abundance of coffee, milk and tea. There are also vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options too.
The property was also spotless. It's nicely decorated without clutter which can easily pick up dirt and make things uncomfortable. We can be very wary of cleanliness but Church Farm was honestly spotless.
The property was comfortable, it's clearly designed for two people and even with a little one there's an abundance of space. If you go as a couple you'll enjoy a whole sofa to yourself in the living area and a large bed that frankly could fit 3 people comfortably. The lodge looks like it could be chilly but don't be deceived as it's well insulated and the owners also give instructions on how to manage the heating if you prefer things warmer or cooler.
The price is insanely competitive for the area. With all the added touches just add to the value for money. I genuinely can't pick a fault with this.
Finally the location can be tricky to find. Google Maps will get you within a 30 second drive but it seems the owners but the exact coordinates in Booking.com's "How to Find Us" section which will take you literally to the front door. Just open Maps via that link rather than typing it in or copy and pasting the address into Maps. This isn't something I dislike but rather a suggestion and I'm being incredibly nit-picky. We arrived quite late after dark and the walk from the car to the lodge was pitch black. With your phone's flashlight this isn't an issue but maybe some lighting leading to the property would be helpful. The owners did leave the porch light on which was obviously a huge help. That being said I totally understand why you'd want as little light pollution as possible.

- Charles (9/5): Very spacious, modern shower and kitchen facilities and all implements for cooking are there. -
- Alexis (10/5): Beautiful location and well maintained property - Location is quiet and peaceful. Plenty of nature around the property so felt very relaxed when sitting on the patio. Everything that we would need was provided and the mattress was extremely comfortable. Shower was lovely with right water pressure and heat. Host was polite and friendly Nothing
- Richard (10/5): - The rural almost isolated position, yet only 15mins from town.
Nothing but horses and bird song to be heard.
- Will (10/5): Beautiful location and lovely place - Beautiful place, lovely, clean and comfy….. good in fridge and snacks. Superb.
- Peter (9/5): Wish I'd had annual leave left to stay longer! - Roomy, lovely setting, great facilities inc dishwasher. Shower was nice & roomy & great to have a wardrobe - often not provided in one bedroom places. Nice lovely big tv as well. Wasps were a pest but not a lot can be done about them. Bed was comfortable enough but as an arthritis sufferer higher & firmer one would improve it for me. Maybe also a handrail by the steps. These are all personal taste things though, so are just comments rather than anything negative. Really enjoyed stay as last time.
- Michelle (7/5): - Comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Too hot! No fan at first, but once a fan was provided it was a lot better. A bit far out on tiny roads. A barbecue would be a nice touch. A change of towels would have been nice.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Perfect for a quiet time - No breakfast but a good welcome pack Chairs outside were a bit uncomfortable
- Paige (8/5): Beautiful bed but other furniture a little tired. - Beautiful little lodge. Very comfortable bed!
Really accommodating hosts- was able to check out late. Sofa was really uncomfortable and the garden furniture could do with upgrading so you can comfortably sit outside.
- Alice (10/5): We hope to return one day, thank you for a super stay. - Church Farm Lodge was super clean, comfortable and well appointed with everything you need.
It was located in a lovely setting with views of horses and to the side a private garden where birds and other wild life could be seen and enjoyed.
Lovely en-suite with a big shower and a big comfortable bed for a goodnights sleep.
We also had a lovely welcome pack with eggs, bacon, bread, milk, biscuit’s and tomatoes which we enjoyed. Nothing, everything was perfect :)
- Adam (10/5): Fantastic comfortable and quiet get away - The location was fantastic, unbelievably quiet which was perfect for a weekend getaway.
The Lodge had everything we needed, the hosts left a little care package for us and shops were short drive away if we needed anything else.
- Jane (8/5): A delightful place to get away from it all. - It was clean, comfortable and ideal for two people. The "welcome pack" was very unexpected and more than generous. The rural setting was ideal and there was plenty of privacy to sit outside and enjoy the fine weather. The only thing I would have changed would have been a washing machine instead of a dishwasher - but that is purely a personal choice.
- Loretta (9/5): Splendid accomodation - We loved the fact it was so clean and spotless, every effort was made to make sure we had everything we needed I can only say one thing that I would change and that would be that we had good knives to chop food and a wooden chopping board instead of glass
- Maria (9/5): A lovely break in rural Norfolk - Lovely and peaceful
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, comfortable, well equipped kitchen
- Leathershorts (9/5): Quiet & comfy. - A fantastic lodge, well equipped & spacious. Comfy bed, nice bathroom with a fantastic shower. Quiet location, isolated in countryside. Horse abound so take a few extra carrots! Log burner for cosy nights in. Not enough toilet roll, no kitchen paper.
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place. Hosts could not have been friendlier nor more helpful. This won't be the only visit, I'm sure.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordan (10/5): Highly recommend in a good location. The hosts are very helpful and friendly! - The property was very clean and spacious in a lovely location. The owners kept in touch with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was okay. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to potentially stay here. The bed is also huge and comfortable!
- Tom (10/5): Wonderful! - Fabulous stay. Gary and Gill were excellent and discreet hosts. We would not hesitate to stay again.
- Mary (10/5): Excellent. Gary and Gill are wonderful hosts and think of everything to ensure a great experience. - I love everything about this property. It’s my favourite place to stay for rest and relaxation. I shall definitely be booking again.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and so peaceful and great for stargazing All good
- Katy (9/5): Superb -
- Nicholas (9/5): Comfortable and peaceful location. Easy drive to explore all parts of Norfolk. -
- Jesse (8/5): Was very good and would recommend to others - The breakfast was lovely, the hosts were very understanding and let us have friends round while my boyfriend did there hair for a wedding Maybe if the check out time was A little later, apart from that all was very good.
- Karen (10/5): Relax, unwind and recharge in this exceptional rural lodge. - The lodge was situated perfectly for a quiet, relaxing and restful break. No nearby traffic noise. Fairly modern inside and 100% spotlessly clean. The facilities inside the lodge were excellant. The kitchen was great for me because I like to cook all our food and usually I find there are always things you need that aren't there, but not in this kitchen (except a sharp knife to prep veg with). The large shower was bliss, power and plenty of very hot water! Never seen such a huge bed - you don't need to be friends in this one! Little patio area to sit and enjoy the sunshine and sounds of nature. Easy check-in and check-out. Hosts reachable and attentive if needed. Will definitely return. Highly recommend for a getaway break. Nothing negative - loved it all!
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marie (10/5): Luxurious little hideaway. - The Lodge is beautifully situated. Very rural but that is what we like. It is lovingly decorated and I found it to be immaculately clean. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable...oh, if every accomodation had this! It felt like luxury. The breakfast pack is also a nice touch. Check in was simple. Before my stay, Gary and Gill sent lots of information about places of interest and were only too happy to help out or answer any questions I had. Thank you for a lovely stay. I would definitely reccomend to others and would stay again. There's wasnt anything I could say I didn't like, but might suggest placing a mirror over the dressing table, which is where the plug is, to allow you to see whilst styling your hair and doing makeup.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was spotless and working. Had a very nice feel to the property. Lovely little, very quiet patio off the bedroom to relax outside with 2 chairs and a coffee table. Didn't meet a soul either going in, during, or on departure. Felt a bit unsettling just getting the key out of the keysafe and letting ourselves in.This was just a personal taste but low fat margarine in 4 little catering pots was not very tasty. But the welcome pack was very much otherwise appreciated, and contained eggs, bacon, tomatoes, milk, biscuits and a large loaf of white toasties bread and 4 little packs of marg. A very generous selection. Very handy having a small dishwasher.
- Janet (9/5): Relaxed and tranquil stay. - Quiet location, spacious. Very clean. Comfortable stay. Kitchen was well equipped for my needs apart from an egg cup. Easy to find and self check in instructions were straightforward. I had some difficulty with stable door at entrance. Bolt didn't appear to slide into place easily. A bit dark in main room due to small windows. Pity as has nice views and countryside to all 4 sides. Weather lovely during my stay but outdoor furniture on terrace I found a bit uncomfortable.
- Lindsay (9/5): Nice in Norwich - Peaceful, roomy cottage in rural setting - very clean & comfortable. As property is setup for just a couple, and is a bit remote from shops/services, a washing machine would be of more benefit to travellers rather than the supplied dishwasher.
Not a deal breaker though, as we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Ria (10/5): Exceptional - This accommodation was perfect for our weekend stay. Our daughter had plenty of space to run around due to the lay out. The facilities were plenty and the welcome hamper was just what we needed!
- Faherty (8/5): Very good - Lodge was very well equipped and really cute inside. Shower was amazing. Loved how secluded and quiet it was, and the welcome basket was a really lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
- Rebecca (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Just a perfect stay! Gary amd Gill communicated wonderfully and sent over a long list of things to do locally. The property is very secluded and you feel like you could be anywhere! Hingham is a ten minute drive and there is a lovely pub and excellent food.
The property itself is wonderfully equipped and you have everything you need, including a lovely breakfast pack.
Thank you so much and we will be back again.
- David (10/5): Excellent little property, cosy and fantastic location in the Countryside - The property is very cosy and pretty, has all that you need. Nothing.
- Di (10/5): Five Star Stay! Peaceful, relaxing, good views and spacious, exceptionally clean accommodation - Welcome pack provided, which was very welcome and a good choice of foods. The property was spotlessly clean and was spacious, with good views (ponies). Would recommend, for a very quiet and peaceful stay. Great communication with hosts on contacting for good restaurants and places to visit, with good instructions for arrival. Thank you and most welcome. Slightly isolated, but if that is what is required that can only be good. Can always jump in the car to go places. Was very peaceful and a relaxed stay. Shame the weather was so awful.
- Maisie (8/5): Overall an amazing stay would highly recommend - It has a nice location and a very peaceful atmosphere and nice open surroundings and view of the horses topped it off No bath , bathroom floor slippery, no key hook to store lodge keys
- Annemarie (10/5): a calm and peaceful location, with welcoming hosts and a spotlessly clean lodge. can’t wait to return - spotlessly clean lodge, welcoming hosts and a lovely welcome basket that catered for dietary needs, very much appreciated. lovely peaceful location, we loved watching and listening to the horses.
- Nicholas (10/5): A perfect 3 night stay. - There was a lovely welcome pack when we arrived, butter eggs bacon tomatoes bread milk and biscuits, perfect. Only noise we heard was from the horse in the next field, which was lovely. The hosts were on the end of the phone to answer any questions but did not impose at all.
Spotlessly clean with everything we needed on hand. Thanks for letting us stay at your lovely cottage. Really can’t think of anything that could have been done better.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Quiet location with all the mod cons. - great location for us, breakfast pack was first class and much appreciated. Lovely quiet spot. Good communication with owners. Finished to a high standard throughout. Would have been nice for heating to have been on when we arrived as it was a very cold day and took sometime to warm the building through.
- Karena (10/5): LOVELY STAY. WOULD CERTAINLY COME AGAIN. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED . - BRILLIANT LOCATION FOR US. PEACEFUL .LOVELY & CLEAN. REALLY COMFY BED.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katy (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely location, quiet.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): We were looking for a hassle free Christmas in a beautiful location, and that it what we found. - Location, a short drive to the small town of Wymondham, but far enough away for that feeling of seclusion. The end of our break. It was all lovely.
- Redbaron156 (10/5): Wonderful place - Everything about it was perfect...Gary & Gill very helpful There was nothing to dislike ...a home away from home..everything perfect
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - It was perfect. Couldn't be improved Absolutely nothing !!!
- Cassandra (10/5): A lovely short family getaway in a cosy lodge cabin - The location, ease of checking in, was huge and had everything we needed. The hosts were informative and reliable, thank you Gary and Gill I can’t say there was anything we didn’t like.
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (10/5): Very relaxing -
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (9/5): Great - Fabulous property. Had everything we needed. Bed was so comfy, great sized shower and kitchen was well kitted out. Had a great breakfast hamper provided for us as well which was a lovely touch. Gary and Gill were quick to reply to any queries i had prior to our stay
- Gareth (10/5): Church farm lodge is a great place to stay. - Spacious, comfortable and great location. The lodge had everything you could need. Outside space was lovely and great local lanes to walk around. Nothing.
- Carole (8/5): Excellent. - Perhaps there could be an iron and ironing board available.
- Cheryl (10/5): Great little retreat, away from it all! - Great cottage, very well equiped and for once hot water was not a problem! Everything you need for a quite vacation. Hosts gave suggestions on places to eat and visit prior to arrival which allowed for upfront planning. Thank you! There really wasnt anything
- Corinne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charles (9/5): Superb - The shower, nice space, quite quiet and well equipped throughout. Bit disappointed that there was no internet at the time of our stay, especially as the pictures show streaming services on a big TV which I was looking forward to. This was no fault of Jill and Gary and didn't ruin our stay.
- Stephen (9/5): Relaxing, comfortable, peaceful and stress-releasing! - The property was spotless and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable indeed and the shower had a regular head plus a waterfall head. Lots of room in the shower, too. The whole property is really spacious, with comfy sofas, high ceilings and a large TV. We loved the gardens and enjoyed watching the goldfinches and rabbits. The location was also extremely quiet, which was great for us. We had no issues at all, in any respect. We were happy with the whole process and Gary and Gill were quick to respond, leading up to our stay. The additional information they kindly sent us, was very useful. We would definitely recommend this property.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (10/5): Lovely weekend escape - Quite simply excellent - beautiful countryside, incredibly quiet with great walks. The hosts.are exceptional - kind and unobtrusive and ready to help with any question. We loved the welcome pack and guidance on local things to do and places to see - my thanks to them both. Nothing!
- Caroline (8/5): Very quiet and relaxing stay - Lovely location, friendly host everyhing we need in the lodge and lovely comfortable bed which is always a must to enjoy your holday. All was fine for us
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely communication from Gill and Gary, plus the thoughtful touches to make the stay comfortable were really lovely.
The bed is enormous and really comfortable My satnav always sent me to the wrong road - but no negatives about the stay
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful accommodation in a lovely quiet setting. Everything you needed in the property for a great relaxing stay. Huge comfortable bed and great size rooms. Lovely shower unit as well. Maybe mirror instead if picture above dressing table to be able to use hairdryer as no socket close to the large mirror.
- Ralph (10/5): Anniversary break - Quiet and very out of the way just what we wanted. The hosts left us to ourselves but we're on site if needed. The welcome pack was more than we expected but very welcome as we got there late so we had a nice breakfast the next morning. All round a very nice out of the way place to relax
- Helen (9/5): A lovely quiet location, close to our family and friends, exactly what we wanted. - The towels could do with being replaced.
- Douglas (10/5): A lovely quiet location and a great base to explore Norfolk from. - Lovely quiet location, the property was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The welcome pack was a really nice touch too. Nothing
- Alexamy (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely Lodge located in a peaceful area. Hosts provided a nice welcome package with biscuits, bread, bacon, tea and coffee. Internet was fast and stable throughout my stay and I had access to Netflix and Disney+ which was a good bonus. Very large and comfortable bed with a nice ensuite bathroom.
- Clive (10/5): We had a great weekend. The lodge is so quiet and peaceful, very relaxing. We ate out at the White Hart pub in Hingham a - Church Farm lodge is perfectly situated for a quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay. A hidden gem in the Norfolk countryside with wildlife all around. The bed was the comfiest we have stayed in and the patio at the rear is perfect for a quiet evening in the sun. Having to leave to go home.
- Natasha (10/5): Wonderful stay at the Church Farm Lodge, would definitely visit again. Lovely welcome pack provided. - The lodge is beautiful and very homely. Bed was so comfy.
- Scott (10/5): it was clean well equipped and owners were nice just perfect - everything
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place, lovely people would stay again in a heartbeat.... .
- Charlotte (10/5): The lodge is a great place to get away. we had everything we needed for a lovely stay and the hosts were very welcoming. - The property was lovely, clean, spacious and had everything you needed for your stay.
- Gayna (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Rod (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (9/5): A wonderful place for a quiet peaceful getaway. we’d go again. - the lodge has everything you need. the bed is very comfortable and the shower was excellent. We especially liked the welcome pack. we had a lovely relaxing peaceful weekend. nothing.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerstin (9/5): Loved every minute of it - such a nice place to stay and will definitely be back 🙂 - Beautiful cottage, really comfortable. Excellent heating and everything provided. Great location. The only thing that the property could benefit would be a washing machine especially if you are staying longer than a week.
- Julie (9/5): We really enjoyed our relaxing stay at the well equipped Church Farm Lodge. - Church Farm Lodge was very clean and comfortable but not very easy to find in the dark, even with directions from the host. The property is in a small hamlet which was not a problem for us and it is very easy to find your way around the area. The kitchen was very well equipped but an iron and an ironing board would be useful. The shower was very good and the table and chairs on the small patio were lovely to have our cup of tea outside and enjoy the morning sun. We would suggest replacing the painting over the chest of drawers with a mirror as the plug socket is next to the drawers and too far away from the existing mirror for using the hair dryer.
- Raymond (10/5): Exceptional - The lodge was spacious, very clean and well equipped.
Lovely rural location away from any hustle and bustle.
Gary recommend some lovely pubs locally which were all withing 10-15min drive. Highly recommend the Red Lion and Waggon and Horses.
Holt is a lovely little town and worth a visit approx 45min drive away. N/A
- Kevin (9/5): Just what the doctor ordered - The location for us was just what we wanted for our short break. very relaxing and certainly would love to return again. Thank you for the welcome pack it was most welcome and the spare apples, which we used for a crumble :-) Nothing to dislike
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derek (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): Comfortable stay in peaceful surroundings. - The very quiet location. The quality of the furniture and kitchen appliances. Everything you needed for a self catering holiday provided including a good welcome pack with milk, bread, tea and coffee, bacon and tomatoes and chocolate biscuits. Although it was not warm enough to sit out it was good to have a private terrace with table and chairs. Very little. We would have liked some cleaning materials for the kitchen and bathroom especially as there is still Covid around and we stayed for a week.
- Anonymous (10/5): was lovely - very quiet
- Malgorzata (10/5): Southburgh - The space and design of the lodge is ideal... Gill was very friendly and helpful... would definitely go back. Couldn't fault our stay
- Anna (7/5): Good -
