Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel not value for money! - The hotel area smelt of curry and beer with sticky floors, which was not a good start.
The person at reception was confused why I was there, then realised I was the last person they were expecting. When I did get a key, there was silence before I asked where the rooms were.
The bathroom smelt mouldy (which it was), the shower plumbing needed to be cleared as it was blocked, and the sink plug locked in place.
The steps down to the fire escape had 'stuff' stored on them and at ground level more 'stuff'.
When leaving the person on reception (same as arrival) was asleep in another room, and couldn't provide an invoice for the stay.
- David Lee (2/5): Book somewhere else. - Hotel severely run down and shocking in all aspects. Don’t go and look for somewhere else.
- Russell (2/5): - The food in the restaurant was good and the staff were friendly. But even the staff were wearing hats and coats inside due to the lack of heating. I cut my trip short due to the lack of heating but it is not going to be simple to get a refund.
- Andrew (2/5): Worst Hotel ever!! - This is the worst Hotel I have ever stayed at!
I had paid for breakfast, breakfast - none was available.
The restaurant was supposed to have been Italian, but in fact was Indian and again closed!
The corridors were dirty.
The Shower cubicle doors did not close.
The Toilet flush button was broken!
- Josh (8/5): Recent business stop out - This place is nice, the rooms have been finished nicely. Its nice to have a bath in a room! Not having a fan was painful in 30'C overnight..
- Verified traveler (4/5): Extremely disappointed - No one at reception when I arrived Had to look around & know on a door to get a staff member
Room was in need of a make over . Used toilet tissue & dead fly in the toilet pan even though the sanitation protection stop was around the toilet !
Hairs visible in the shower
Waiting 1 hour for my dinner order which I had to pay up front for at the Blu Bar in the hotel of Sea Bass salad & chips - when it arrived the fish was cold so sent it back . The excuse was it’s because of the takeaway service !! I asked for my money back & spoke to the manager .Jane - the same one who was on reception eventually & cleaned my bathrooms following my complaint She was very apologetic & did serve me dinner in the Indian Restaurant of the hotel then fairly fast Jane was professional & friendly but the standard of housekeeping and bar food let not only me down as a guest but her as well as she had to keep apologizing on he colleagues behalf. No issue with the breakfast & the waitress was very friendly & helpful. The bedroom walls were paper thin You could hear everything .I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone .
Extremely disappointed.
- Steve (4/5): - Arrived at the property check in was great.
I had asked for a superior double and superior twin, but got 2 twin rooms.which ws ok...ent out for food, arrived back around 9pm..to find quite the entertainment package going on in the bar below.
The hotel soecifies on its page great for families but when they check you in and see you have a toddler they dont mention that the bar plays extremely loud music until after midnight.
We were not the only family with a small childand the lady behind reception,Jane if i remember was very helpful, and tried to get the bar to turn the music down..but it went on until past midnight.
Room was great for what we meeded, breakfast was good too but be warned if you plan to stay over the weekend and have small children, you will be disappointed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great food. Hotel not as shown in pictures - Nice staff.
Very nice food and restaurant. But have to say it was a very noisy room, bed mattress needed changing as felt old.
- Verified traveler (2/5): I don’t recommend - Never staying here again. Breakfast options were awful and condition of the place
- andrew (4/5): would not stay here again - Was not very clean, and the room was dated to say the leased.
Restaurant was closed due to refurbishment, so after driving all day 350miles from home had to find somewhere to eat.
- Rob (8/5): No food and bar closed - Bar not open but the nightclub was - with no one in it
No food Evening staff were very attentive
Asked for a vat receipt - couldn’t print one
Asked the next morning- I was given a piece of paper to write down my email
Address so someone could email me - still no receipt
Breakfast not good - ordered a large- got small, but based on the quality of food served it did me a favour
I don’t think there was anyone else staying - bizarre experience all round
- Charles (10/5): Recommended - Been here several times before .. clean , comfortable, friendly staff .. will be staying here again next time we are in Warrington
- Parvez (8/5): - location
- stephen (8/5): - Good value for the money, but the management needs to look at a refurb.
I can only comment on room 27.
The blue room was fantastic, good atmosphere and good bar service.
Not put off to return.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Filthy - I was booked in for two nights but the hotel was so grimy and depressing that I chose to stay somewhere else for my second night, even though I would not get a refund. The carpet outside my room was filthy, and there were dirty marks on the bedroom walls
It was clearly dirty and run down over a long period. So I'm very dubious about Hotels.com's reviewing system. This hotel has the same rating as some really nice hotels I've stayed in and the reviews don't remotely resemble this hotel.
- TAYEED (4/5): - A very tired building, lumpy bed, lumpy pillows & bedding. No bulb in bedside lamp, air fresheners all dried up long ago, a fluorescent light that permanently on over the bed, poor Wi Fi, no one to serve the promised dinner, a new loud ‘Blu Bar’ not mentioned on website. Nothing positive to mention.
- Mr Raymond F (10/5): - Great place that's why I go back
- William (8/5): Room was Dirty - The Room was not clean
- DAVID (6/5): - So called double bed was 2 singles pushed together.( not good for various reasons) when booking a double bed i expect a double bed.Shower head needs replacing. Staff good. Didnt need carpark but good size car park at side of hotel. Free.
- Mr R . F .R (10/5): Love it - I just keep going back when in area...psst Keep it a secret..... just Fantastico 👌😙
- Jack (6/5): - Run down room, struggled to get bathroom light on in first room and shower didnt work, moved rooms and the main light didnt work. No housekeeping.
Friendly staff though.
- DEBORAH (10/5): A++++++++++ - Great room, very clean. Lovely staff, great price and exceptional food :)
- Steve (10/5): Fantastic food - Fantastic stay
Brilliant service
Brilliant food
- I (2/5): Lnot a pleasant experience - Noisey night sleep ,the shower is dangerous as resulred in an accident, the milk had gone off for breakfast resulting in no Coffee, all on all a disaster.
- Ken (10/5): The Area - The Hotel is near to takeaways and to an Asian supermarket if you want to stock up. PAKSTORE, is wll worth a visit. Yes it really is called PAKSTORE.
- Mark (10/5): Excellent - Very pleasant hotel with a very reasonably priced restaurant.
Comfortable room with friendly staff
- Ken (10/5): Spur of the Moment - It was our Wedding Anniversary and we had gone out for a drink. My wife said "Lets get a hotel room"!Hello Hotels.com and then hello Vilaggio Hotel.Very easy to book for a newbie to the site.It was a very nice evening. I found the mattress to past its' best even with a mattress topper as I could feel the coils. Our kettle was not working but the Night Porter replaced it with a new one right out of the box.A good friendly value hotel.
- Craig (8/5): - Very heloful and friendly
- Jonathan (10/5): - Great service, great room.
- Stephen (10/5): - Friendly staff and nice hotel
- Denis (8/5): Nice Stay - The staff were really very friendly.
- Jonathan (10/5): Romantic break - Venue was nice, good parking at rear and secure doors. Went on a romantic stay to cheer up my lady and we got a room upgrade from honeymoon to executive from the kind and friendly staff. The room was fantastic but it was clear some renovations were in progress but this did not impact our stay. The resteraunt was very pleasent. We got the steak and salmon, both were great. Olive starter was fantastic. Would definately come again. Thank you!
- Charles (10/5): Not Much Choice in Warrington - This is good - Have stayed here on several occasions, and have always found it good - helpful staff and a good breakfast in the morning
- Tony (8/5): - Good all round, only complaint was the noise and vibration from the corridor outside my room as people walked passed.
- nicola (4/5): Basic and poor quality - The heating wasnt working and it was a cold night. Rooms were basic, very economy and below. Breakfast was ok but not overly generous - they dont know how to poach an egg and tinned tomatoes, when fresh is cheaper and nicer.
- Michael (6/5): Reasonable value, good business overnight stay - Overall this is an ok hotel for an overnight business trip. Breakfast good. Atmosphere nil. Rooms ok but overall hotel is a little dated in decor etc...
I would stay again on business but not for a romantic weekend away, if you know what I mean.
- Paul (4/5): - Cold and run down but staff friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): Thanks - Great service, clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff had an helpful persona which came across in their interaction with me. I found the food nice and well priced in the restaurant. The bar was ok but the limited draught beer was a slight let down. The breakfast was nice hot and plentiful.
My room was spacy and well set out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean and conformable. The breakfast was good and at a convenient time. The room was a bit small, but other than that I can't fault Villagio. Good value hotel.
- Steve (4/5): - single beds pushed together covered by a fitted sheet, noisy squeaky floor, thin walls and dated decor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms very clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast selection. Very presentable. Good location.
- Fred (8/5): A lovely 2 night stay - The staff were lovely and we were lucky to get upgraded when we arrived. The room was very spacious and well done but was a bit tired and in need of a bit of TLC. Breakfast was very nice and on our second night we had a lovely pizza in the restaurant. Would definitely use again.
- PETER (8/5): Great value and very comfortable. - Excellent value, stylish rooms with lovely big and comfortable bed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was our second stay at Villaggio, and we were pleasantly surprised it was a bit tired 4/5 years ago but it has sprung to life. The staff are exceptionally friendly. We had breakfast which was really good and plentiful. The room very clean and the bed very comfortable and clean/white.
A lovely hotel and easy to access from the motorway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I stayed for one night, very clean hotel, good service from staff and nice cooked breakfast.
This was a business trip and I would recommend it for a short stay trip.
- Andrew (8/5): Recommend - Arriving at hotel I was a bit dubious, but when inside it was a pleasant surprise. Good food, good service, great value
- James (10/5): Nice! - Clean and tidy hotel. Comfy bed and lovely food in the restaurant. Great value too! Free parking.
- Linda (8/5): Would stay again - The hotel is basic, but very clean. Lovely bathroom and beds very comfy. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good, had a couple of evening meals and they were very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was OK for the price I paid - clean and functional
The soundproofing wasn't great, but good enough
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Silverfish spiders in 2 bedrooms
Staff were helpful to move me
But wasn't very clean
I'm sure there was a beehive behind a fire alarm I saw as I was leaving
- Rachel (10/5): Great for an overnight business stay - Friendly and helpful staff, they kindly upgraded me to a more spacious room when I requested a room with bathtub. Good food in restaurant. Very reliable WiFi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were very friendly snd helpful. Food was excellent.
- David (8/5): Nice hotel. Good breakfast. Good value for money - Nice hotel. Good breakfast. Good value for money
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great big lovely room. comft bed and great breakfast. as arny says. i,ll be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable stay with wonderful food - The did in the restaurant was amazing and the staff were very friendly.
Providing tissues and a water bottle in the room would make it perfect
- Geoffrey (10/5): Geoff - Clean , nice rooms , good restaurant, really nice staff, good breakfast,
- marion (8/5): - Fabulous room lovely breakfast very accommodating staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Small price - luxurious room - Hotel room was outstanding. We appreciated the luxury. Quiet area with ample parking
- Carmel (10/5): - Very pleasant hotel. Friendly staff.
- Karen (8/5): - Very pleasant and very welcoming, only drawback was no lifts ! Had my elderly 84 yr old mother with me and getting up and down the stairs was hard work for her. And quite scary for me when she had to come down stairs as i had to make sure i held on to her. Breakfast was very good and staff lovely and pleasant. Entry through the car park after 10pm is not something that I'd recommend !! But overall a very pleasant stay with a good nights sleep.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Friendly Staff - Stayed for work, which was fine, but didn’t feel comfortable with the room decor.
- Martin (10/5): Football night out. - Stayed here twice now after a visit to Liverpool for the football. Great place, local to a nice town (Stockton Heath) for a couple of drinks and a meal. Friendly staff, nice breakfast and a great price. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!!
- Barry (8/5): Dated but trying - It provided what I wanted. Seemed like a place that would have more popular for events as it can cater for plenty. Breakfast was ok and the room was also ok
- Samuel (10/5): Warm, friendly and welcoming. - Wonderful plesent stay. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Stayed for two nights room was clean and comfortable. Was very cold weather outside but hotel room was amazing heating and all. Overall 9.5/10. Would have scored 10 If I had a fridge in room that would have made my stay perfect.
- Stephen (8/5): A decent alternative to bigger Warrington hotels - Nice quality hotel with good breakfast and helpful staff.
- Jonathan (6/5): - No heating in lobby/corridor. Radiator off in my room. -8 degrees outside when I arrived.
- Martin (10/5): Fair Price - Ideal for business over night stay, a nice restaurant reasonably priced.
- Niall (8/5): Good business stop over - Clean and comfortable. Great for a business stop over.
- Croash (10/5): Friendly, with great breakfast and evening meal - Stayed on business, working with very local business to hotel. Hotel was friendly, yes in places walls were marked, a couple of small repairs needed, but great value, great breakfast and great to support a small local hotel!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Could do with a refresh / renovation. - Could do with a refresh / renovation.
Breakfast was disappointing.
Service was friendly.
Local area has nothing of interest.
- Paul (4/5): Great resturant but rooms left a lot to be desired - Restaurant great but room had no heating, no hot water and shower did not work - lucky there was a bath in the room for a wash in the morning when there was some hot water!
- Raymond (10/5): Very Very Good - Really good friendly and accommodating hotel. High standard of service. Evening meal well presented in surprisingly good surroundings.
- Troy (6/5): Villagio - Friendly staff, good food, plenty of parking and wifi worked in all areas. Only thing that let it down was a hard double bed with a ridge where 2 singles were joined together - needs a topper.
- Raymond (10/5): Good hotel for the money. - Just a good all round hotel and very reasonably priced.
