Guest Reviews
- Anna (10/5): - Perfect for autumn getaway. Quiet during the week. Excellent food at the bistro.
- David (10/5): - Beaucoup aimé!
- Arena (6/5): - Breakfast is OK. Staff quite friendly. Hotel condition needs to be updated.
- Patrick (10/5): - Great!
- Joanna (8/5): - Really nice family room. Pool was nice but pretty too cold for our 4 year old. Breakfast was good. Very quiet hotel even though it was fully booked. Staff was nice.
- Katherine (10/5): - Loved staying here, so relaxing. Hot tub, sauna, great breakfast views and a comfy bed!
- Olivia (10/5): - .
- Michael (10/5): - Late check in was set up and explained thoroughly.
- ALAIN (10/5): - The room was beautiful and cosy! Great for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids).
The swimming pool and the spa are a great added value to our stay (we didn’t use the gym, maybe next time)
However, breakfast can be much better
- Marco (4/5): - The property was booked for a wedding, the lobby restaurant was non operational for the evening which we were not advised. The room had a leaking shower and or faucet, puddle of water when we checked in. No telephone sin the room means you must walk to reception for all needs and non functioning tv and internet is weak at best. Not recommended.
- Anna (10/5): - Great food in bistro. Evening live musical entertainment. Attentive staff.
- Ginette (10/5): - Great swimming pool, hot tub and dry sauna. Nice family bedroom. Good continental breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Will come back. - Room is clean and confortable. Staff is professional and helpful. Breakfast options are limited, but everyone should find something good.
- Anny (2/5): - WARNING: I was disappointed to find that if you arrive after the reception desk is closed, you won’t be able to access the hotel at all. It seems like the bare minimum expectation would be providing clear, detailed instructions on how to access the hotel after hours. Unfortunately, this was not the case, which made the experience frustrating. Needless to say we have to drive hours back home having no place to stay. Totally unacceptable!
- Omkar (10/5): - Nice cottage like room with bunk beds for kids. Good spread for breakfast. Overall good facilities will definitely come back.
- michael (8/5): - the view was nice and proximity to town great
- Justine M (10/5): Family fun - Fun find with a great breakfast and pool
- Jennifer (10/5): - Beautiful views, lovely staff, excellent spot for families. The family rooms with bunk beds are a great layout. The hot tub and pool were lovely and not busy at all. The breakfast buffet was simple but a perfect start to the day. Sutton is a beautiful town. We all enjoyed our stay.
- Maurizio (10/5): - Carpet spelled a little but otherwise excellent stay would return
- Azadeh_ (10/5): Relaxing and cozy place - “I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, the room was clean and cozy, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing stay!”
- Antonio (10/5): - Very good
- Cecilia (8/5): - Great stay at Huttopia, a few things to note: dishes should be replaced as they looked pretty worned out
We also only had two chairs for outside siiting ( we reserved a chalet for six people)
The beds were comfortable and the kids really enjoyed the egg hunting activity
The staff was great!
- Arnaud (10/5): - Perfect! We had a great time! The hotel staff is amazing! We'll be back. 😁
- Sophie (10/5): - Amazing with kids or without
- MARC (10/5): A essayé au moins 1 fois!! - Très bel accueil!
Excellent Service!
Chambre confortable et au goût du jour!
- Bill (10/5): - The staff really makes this place special. Thank you to Louis, Fiona, Jennifer, Luke, and to the other staff that I do not know by name. Special shout out to the enthusiastic and extremely friendly Julie!
Really close to the ski hills and the adorable town of Sutton with several dining options.
The pool, sauna, and Finnish Bath was amazing and incredibly relaxing after skiing!
- Derek (8/5): - Nice place to stay. Close proximity to Mont Sutton. Continental breakfast could use some upgrades and the hot tub needs jets!
- Byung Noh (10/5): - Excellent:)
- William (10/5): - Very close to Sutton ski hill
Excellent food
Staff were extremely friendly especially considering it’s Quebec
- Scott (10/5): - Great place very clean property excellent dining. Only downfall wood for woodstove was wet and no kindling.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Close to the ski hill.the pool and hot tub were a nice touch.
- Scott (8/5): - Enjoyed chalet 6, wood burning fires, skating rink, sauna hot tub & proximity to Sutton & Mont Sutton. Would stay again.
- Charles (6/5): Nice but could've been better for the price. - The cottage was nice and cozy. I really liked the concept of cottages and camps in the mountain.
However, the cottage wasn't as clean as I anticipated and there were lots of insects, such as ants and pine seed bugs all over the place including the beds. The pool and hot tub wasn't supervised and many tourists were not respecting rules of sharing. We waited more than an hour to use the hot tub and we ended up leaving.
- Savannah (10/5): - Staff was great! Breakfast was exactly what we needed!
- Vanessa (10/5): - Great place- nice decor, clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms, friendly staff, nice sauna! would stay again!
- Allan (8/5): - I highly recommend this property. We enjoyed 2-nights at Huttopia - four adults sharing a cabin pleasantly situated in a coniferous forest. The cabin is full of natural light, equipped with a small kitchen, two closed bedrooms, a seating area, two pull out couches, a shower stall and bathroom. There’s also a picnic table and a barbecue on the landing deck.
It’s a lovely property with immediate access to an extensive trail network - ideal for hikers, cross country skiers, snow shoes and mountain bikes.
At the hotel Horizon where you check in, coffee and tea is available 24/7, there’s a family friendly lobby, set up with a few tables and it’s adjacent to a bar and a large open area restaurant with a fireplace.
We took advantage of the indoor pool and dared to walk out in freezing cold temperatures to access the whirl pool and walked further to access the barrel sauna. It was icy and one of us slipped and fell. The sauna was great and advisable to wear shoes or as I discovered socks worked perfectly!
Our only complaint was the cleanliness of the pool area including the change rooms/bathrooms which were slimy-slippery with not enough towels to go around. The staff were very friendly and the property and the surrounding landscape is beautiful.
- Jean-Sebastien (10/5): - Amazing staff. Feels like home, just better !
- Charlie (10/5): - Lovely setting near Mont Sutton, clean, cosy and well-maintained property, super friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast included in room rate. Would stay again!
- Abby (10/5): - Cozy cabins set in a forest. Very peaceful. Cabins have everything you need. Very close to Mont Sutton.
- Rusty (10/5): Small cozy. Perfect. - Small cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway or ski/mountain trip.
- Robert (10/5): - Lovely cabin in the woods, everything you need
- Olivier (10/5): - Q
- Iqbal (10/5): Magical weekend - Magnificent chalet. Very clean and comfortable beds. Place is magical
- Jose (10/5): - Wonderful Surroundings, hiking to nearby Mont Sutton was amazing
- Tamara (8/5): - Great for family stay. We loved the family room layout with the bunk beds. The common spaces were excellent places to hang out après ski- restaurant, fireplace, pool. Staff was attentive and very friendly.
- Roman (10/5): - very good value for money, noce and cozy! good amenities!
- LISEL (10/5): - So much fun to stay here to ski Sutton. Clean, comfy, and fun. Great breakfast and friendly staff.
- Deborah (10/5): - Stayed for a very short weekend visit. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was small but delicious, with enough options. The rooms are cozy and clean. I would go back to the area just to stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely hotel. Julie, at reception was very enthusiastic and helpful. The room wasn't as clean as I expected (toilet and some mold in shower). The pool area was warm, but the sides of the pool were brown-ish. The Finnish spa was nice, outside. Breakfast was fine.
- Kendall (8/5): - Lovely sauna and hot tub
- Veronique (10/5): - The hotel is so cozy and welcoming. The staff was so friendly, breakfast was fresh and healthy. Pool, sauna and hot tub were very clean. Bed was super comfortable
- Vivian Ha Vi (10/5): - The place was clean and charming, ultra quiet at night. It is clearly an older hotel that has been renovated with modern cabin charm. I chose the hotel for the facilites, decor and breakfast included in the price. The pool and jacuzzi were filled with teenagers when we arrived for checkin at 4PM, and I was a little bit crushed that I was not going to have a peaceful time relaxing at their facilities but by 5:30, they had left and there was only one family so it was sweet relatively calm. I would definitely return. Great value, nice hotel. One note, the pool and jacuzzi and sauna close at 8PM so plan accordingly if you want to use them.
- Eva (8/5): - We liked the fireplaces in the property.
- Bianca (10/5): - Even more beautiful than anticipated. Very clean and kid friendly. The restaurant was also amazing and the view is stunning. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
- Emad (10/5): - Excellent
- Andrew (10/5): - The room was really comfortable
- Hassan (10/5): - Excellent place to stay at very authuntic for the fall season 👌 nice scenary and sourrounding views at Mount Sutton
- Robert (10/5): - Great Value
- Yves-Emmanuel (10/5): - Parfait
- Irene (10/5): - We loved the property and how nice the staff was. We definitely recommend the place and would love to come back.
- Miles (10/5): - Good, definitely stay again
- Sathish (10/5): - Great place
- Amal (10/5): - I have several family members who have stayed here over the years and highly recommend the Horizon. We come to Sutton every so often for family gatherings.
This Labor Day Weekend we held a memorial service for my mom in Sutton with a picnic afterwards. I was the organizer but planned it all remotely (we live in NYC). When I arrived the day before there were still several loose ends that needed my attention. The staff, particularly Clara, went out of their way to support me. Giving me local business recommendations and even offering to arrange certain food preparation by their cook. Julie was so pleasant each morning at the lovely breakfast. We were always the first ones there (our 3yr old does not believe in sleeping in on vacations yet, work-in-progress).
We used the lovely heated outdoor pool and cafe that is connected to the property just a short drive up the hill. I even managed to sneak away from the little one for a dip in the soothing outdoor hot tub (at the main hotel).
Every single staff member I encountered was so lovely and helpful. In addition to Clara and Julie, the front desk staff, cafe cook, and even the life guard were so friendly and attentive. This went such a long way for me on what was a very emotional weekend. We will certainly stay at the Horizon again.
- NOEL (6/5): -
Stayed more then once here. Great location beautiful views, very comfortable. However they really need to up the game for breakfast. The only protein available was hard boiled egg that was frozen....penut butter, creamcheese and yogurt.....We love to hike and the hot tub and sauna are a great way to finish the day.
- Kevin (8/5): - Great concept of family rooms. The food was fantastic. The only down side is the carpeting wish leaves a moldy smell.
- Mohand Akli (10/5): - Good place to relax
- Mireille (4/5): - It was way too expensive for the little to no commodities.
No room service, no fridge in the room for water or drinks, and the so-called breakfast was only a few jars on a counter top to choose granola, yogourt, toast and jams or.boiled eggs. Not a typical buffet breakfast as advertised. During our stay, the dining room was reserved for a wedding, which we did not know about until we arrived. We went to eat elsewhere and when we came back, at 8pm, the pool and sauna were already closed. I wish we had known in advance to make plans. We ended up paying 280$ for a room without a fridge, no restaurant available, no breakfast and without enjoying the pool. For me, this should have been at the price of a motel lodging, not a hotel.
That being said, the staff was courteous and the room was comfortable and clean. I just overall don't feel the price was justified.
- Seyedfakhreddin (10/5): - Very clean. Nice place to stay
- Anna Lourdes (10/5): - It was a great place! The staff was friendly and sincere. Meal portions were very good.
- Perry (8/5): - Too bad their breakfast begins at 7:30am. It would have been convenient for breakfast to begin at 6:00am.
- Chris (10/5): - great. pauline was especially kind.
- Sherry (10/5): - We came for the eclipse, and the staff was excellent- very accommodating even though it was the “off season”. The hotel was great for families, and in a convenient location in a beautiful setting!
- ENTELA (10/5): - Everything was great. The staff is very nice and the place is very charming.
- Tiffany (10/5): - Amazing getaway
- Liming (6/5): Room is too small - The room is too small, no place for luggage. Feel too crowd!
- Claude (10/5): - Except for weather ( no snow ) excellent
Sauf la météo ( pas de neige excellent )
Staff en formation mais très avenant
Claude
- Annick (6/5): - Our rental was for a cabin. When we arrived, the cabin was cold and humid. No one took the time to heat the cabin before our arrival. We had to drive back to the reception desk and ask to purchase a bundle of wood - this should have been offered when we arrived. It took an hour for the cabin to be comfortable. Following, we unpacked our food, as the cabin came with a kitchen; we had to clean the entire countertop of mouse poop....hundreds of them. So we will pass on staff services and cleanliness. We left the morning after, even though our stay was for 2 nights. We won't ever go back or recommend this place.
- Kevin (2/5): - Poorly run facility, had to book another hotel because the front desk closes at 7pm. Flew into the area for a wedding. Was told I should have checked my email on arrival. Absolutely ridiculous. Any case, to make matters worse, the cabin I stayed has a rodent issue. Found mice poop on the kitchen counter and the bed. 100 percent would not recommend. Stay across the street or anywhere else.
- Claire (10/5): - The hotel and chalet we stayed in surpassed our expectations. We stayed only one night but we will definitely be back!
- Carolyn (10/5): - Very friendly welcome. It is definitely off season! The place is empty! Sutton is a quaint community.
- Sonia (10/5): - Wonderful hotel experience. Loved the location, room, breakfast and spa. A perfect getaway.
- Luciano (8/5): Overall good - The pillows are a bit too hard or fluffy, so they dont provide good support for neck..
The mattress sheet came loose and u der it the matress protector had old blood stains on it.
Everything else was great.....
- Pei Yu (8/5): Nice view, good night stay - Our family of 4 had one night stay in the family room (one queen bed that’s smaller than our queen bed at home plus a twin bunk bed).
The hotel is on a higher level than the main road, the view is really nice. During the night, we went out to watch the stars (meteor shower season). It was too cloudy so it wasn’t successful but we saw a deer instead.
The corridor has a funny smell, dust or moisture, unsure, but not in our room. The room is clean. The kids loved the bunk bed and it was good that they had a separate area. The rest of room is quit small: just enough space for a bed, two small nightstands, a small office table (like in the picture) and one single chair, and a portable air conditionner. It is the type of room to relaxe at the end of the day; so forget about an in-room family dinner for lack of furnitures.
We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and sauna. The gym is small.
The breakfast is included, nothing fancy: toast, bagel, fresh fruits, homeade jams, cereals, milk, coffee and juice. There was also freshly baked viennoiseries that were gone within minutes. The homemade
cakes attracted too many flies.
Special mention about the welcoming attitude of the staffs and EV chargeur.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect spot - Super stay for the two of us at this lovely hotel perched on a hill.
Margot the reception clerk greeted us and did a few calls/ verifications to accomodate us at our arrival (14:30). Room was functional for short 2 night stay in Suuyon and areas we wanted to visit.
Friendliest, professional front desk staff and the views on the terasse are unique.
Quality/ price =excellent!
- Sarah (8/5): - The family rooms are nice. You can bring your kids and still stay up after they go to bed. The restaurant makes good food. Pretty plates and tasty 😋
- Wendy (8/5): - Beautiful space to get away and unwind. Situated close to the town of Sutton which offers a variety of dining options. A variety of outdoor experiences within a 30 minute drive.
- ANDRIAMASINORO (10/5): - Excellente place! Les enfants ont adoré
- Suraj (8/5): - I only missed a little fridge and a microwave. This would have ease a lot of service.
- Eric (10/5): - Very charming hotel and great staff.
- Todd (10/5): - Great 5 star stay location is perfect so many of the eastern townships resorts close
New sauna and hot tub 🛀 I’m coming back for sure ! The staff are the best here thanks guys
- ALYNN (8/5): - The chalets were great and tidy. A few more amenities would have been great like some ground coffee and kindling.
The pool, hot tub and sauna were a great addition. Keeping the pool cleaner and the bins emptied and shower soaps refilled would have been a bonus. As would vacuuming the common areas. Overall a great time though - ski conditions were excellent!
- Jennifer (8/5): - Property is halfway between town and ski hill - convenient to both. Rooms were clean; thoughtful to have lots of wall hooks with rubber mats for shoes so snow doesn't get everywhere. Breakfasts got a little repetitive - if you were staying there for awhile, you might want some variety. The gym was dusty; no one had cleaned in there awhile. Outdoor hot tub nice and sauna was neat. Staff was bilingual and pleasant. No elevator, so if staying on the second floor, keep that in mind. Stayed in the family room which was nice for us and teenage son.
