• Marina de Cesare (6/5): - la struttura è in una posizione centrale e si trova sopra un bar frequentato anche da locals. l'atmosfera è tranquilla e accogliente c'è un piccolo frigo e un'area cucina, che però ha solo un microonde e un fornello da campeggio. non ci sono pentole o stoviglie, quindi è necessario chiederle al bar, inoltre non è presente nemmeno un lavandino, quindi è ideale solo per riscaldare pasti già pronti. le docce si trovano al piano di sotto e per raggiungerle bisogna passare davanti ad una parte del bar. in più si trovano tutte nello stesso locale e non c'è una divisione tra quelle destinate agli uomini e quelle per le donne.

• Moritz (5/5): Preis ist für Island gut, Lage perfekt. Aber wenn man sich gut erholen will, würde ich mir was anderes suchen! - Die Lage ist super. Mit dem Personal hatten wir nur kurz Kontakt, aber soweit alles gut. WC war sauber. Die Zimmer sind wirklich spärlich eingerichtet. Die „Gemeinschaftsküche“ quasi nicht existent. Außer man bringt Töpfe und Geschirr beim Backpacken selber mit. Außerdem hat sich das Zimmer so aufgeheizt, dass wir die ganze Nacht das Fenster offen lassen mussten und trotzdem geschwitzt haben. Leider war es dann in der Innenstadt so laut, dass an Schlaf kaum zu denken war. Auch die dauerhaft laufende Lüftung im Zimmer ist lautstärkentechnisch nicht zu ignorieren.

• Julia Oeburg (5/5): Schönes Hostel, aber nicht für Familien geeignet - Es ist ein wunderschönes Hostel. Ideal für Backpacker. Leider für Familien mit kleinen Kinder völlig ungeeignet. War eine Fehlbuchung für uns. Wir hatten ein Zimmer direkt über der Bar und wurden erst davon beschallt und dann von singenden Partygästen.

Would stay here again. - We loved the perfect downtown location, the chill, young vibe, the breakfast, nice staff, comfortable beds, clean shared bathroom, free parking behind the building, nice spacious room. We were there on a Saturday night and the downstairs bar was very much a fun party/music vibe but we enjoyed it after spending otherwise quiet nights around Iceland. For Iceland, the price was fair. There was a food truck serving middle eastern food right next to the hostel that was open late and the food was good but not cheap of course.... because Iceland. All good and would definitely stay here again. There were some probably drunk people yelling outside on the street in front of the hostel after the downstairs bar shut down and what sounded like fireworks at about 1:00 a.m. but it didn't bother us too much and isn't the fault of the hostel. It IS in a party area though and next to a night club/music venue so if you're there on a weekend and a light sleeper, bring ear plugs maybe. I didn't like that our room was confirmed to include breakfast per Booking.com but then a hostel employee messaged prior to arrival that it did not include breakfast. I had to email my proof from Booking.com and then the hostel agreed that our rate did indeed include breakfast.

• Antonio (1/5): - When I left This was undoubtedly the worst place we stayed in Iceland. If you just want to rest and take a hot shower DO NOT CHOSE THIS PLACE. It is placed on top of a very noisy bar. Till 4 am you will likely hear music, noise and drunk people. If you just want to take a hot shower, you have to walk with your stuff through the bar, which will expose you to the risk of showing off your family jewels in front of people drinking and having dinner.

• Caroline (5/5): Constrangedor e frustrante - O quarto é bastante básico e diferente do que foi apresentado nas fotos. Além disso, não estava devidamente limpo e não oferecia praticamente nenhuma comodidade além da cama e das tomadas. A localização é excelente, sendo o único ponto positivo da estadia. Em nenhum momento foi informado que, para acessar o banheiro e o chuveiro, é necessário passar pelo bar. Isso faz com que, para ter um mínimo de privacidade, seja preciso aguardar o fechamento do bar, ou então atravessar o local com nossos pertences enquanto ele está cheio. Além disso, tive dificuldade para obter a senha de acesso, o que me impediu de utilizar o banheiro no momento em que precisava. Para completar, há bastante ruído vindo de diferentes áreas (corredor, bar e andares superiores), o que prejudicou significativamente nosso descanso e impossibilitou uma noite de sono tranquila.

Had to look for the showers. Didn't really have any negative about it during my stay. Maybe some would like to know there is no elevator.

• Margaux (1/5): - L’emplacement de l’auberge Je ne conseille pas cette auberge, le personnel n’était pas accueillant beaucoup plus envers les clients du bar. Pour aller aux sanitaires il faut passer par le bar, il n’ y avait qu’une douche chez les femmes d’ouverte et en très sale. Le logement est très bruyant avec le bar sous la chambre. Il manquait une table de chevet dans notre chambre. Enfin il n’y avait pas de serviettes de toilettes uniquement disponible à 500 couronnes islandaises, honteux.

Showers were only located downstairs so one would have to walk down the stairs in order to access them. Sauna was out of order and some of the shower pipes were old and slightly rusted. • Celia (1/5): Hotel del insomnio, una noche para no pegar ojo. - Ubicación Dormir aquí es más bien un concepto abstracto: el bar de abajo está abierto hasta las mil y el ruido sube como si no hubiera paredes, solo una ligera sugerencia de ellas. Cada grito, cada vaso, cada canción… todo forma parte de tu “descanso”. Pero lo mejor viene cuando descubres que los baños son de uso compartido con los clientes del bar. Nada como cruzarte con gente borracha, mientras tú te lavas los dientes, o entrar y encontrarte escenas que preferirías no recordar (incluyendo vómitos… mucho vómito). Todo muy acogedor. En cuanto a la limpieza, digamos que tiene personalidad propia. Los edredones parecían tener más historia que el propio hotel, y la “cocina” y las duchas estaban en ese punto entre abandono y experimento social. En resumen: no lo recomiendo… a no ser que tu idea de una buena noche incluya insomnio, y un toque de caos absoluto. Experiencia inolvidable, pero por las razones equivocadas.

• Katerina (3/5): The hostel lost its charm for me unfortunately - Great location and bar and restaurant with comfort food, rooms are nice and clean, comfortable beds. I have stayed at this hostel before a few years back. Then the hostel was more traveller oriented, there were common areas for guests, friendly staff and nice hostel vibes. What has changed since is the overall vibe. The bar has taken over the hostel part and the common are has become a darts sport bar. The common kitchen facility has shrunk into a fridge and a microwave with no seating behind this bar area. Also we did not feel safe to use the showers having to walk through this area, so we had to shower elsewhere. Sauna was out of order. The space was open nonstop and there were alcoholics hanging around the place day and night, people from street sleeping on sofas, seeping upwards into room corridors and being loud in the night. There were fights in the corridors and my friend has been followed by a drunk on many occasions during our short stay. We told the staff, but they seemed helpless in this situation. It seems that this is pretty common. Two of three nights we had trouble sleeping because of loud drunk people in the corridors right in front of out door. Anyone could enter the hostel in the night all the way to the room doors.

• Katrina (10/5): Fantastic stay - Everything! The place is so nice and comfortable. Beautiful bar and restaurant with pocket friendly prices. Beds are super comfortable, the rooms are spotless. I didn't want to leave at all, I loved my stay! The staff are amazing, especially Marta who made my stay super special and sorted me out with a nice breakfast, great coffee and friendly chat each morning 😁 Highly recommend it and will be back for sure. Akureyri is magical

Very concerning experience and poor handling of a serious issue. I would not stay here again. Be cautious.

• Paul (8/5): Great value for a short stayover. Bar meals excellent. - Good value, especially with the breakfast which was great for the inclusive deal. Room clean. Good bar with bar meals. Close to airport. Showers were two floors down. Albeit modest, an extra charge for towels, but this was made clear. Rather limited self cooking for what is described as a "backpackers hostel", however bar meals good value, and happy h our at the bar for cheaper beer early evening. Minor point, but only one power point for chsrging, in a room for 6.

Toilets on each floor, they were always clean. Nice staff. It was overall quiet as it was off season Bathrooms are located underground only and it’s basically the same space for men and women. No staff present at night, which can be an issue as during first night unfortunately, a bunch of kids thought they were owning the place and partied most of the night, they were speaking out loud, screaming and all between their rooms and hallway they just didn’t care about the others. No one to complain to sadly.

In my case, I had to go down from the third floor, where the bar patrons at the hostel would stare at me while I was taking a shower. The noise was unbearable at night. The rooms were tidy and the bedding was clean. Overall, it was okay for the price.
• Lydia (7/5): Very reasonable price and good location. - The location and the food in the restaurant/ bar was great. The heating was good, and we had a lovely view of the fjord and a shared balcony on our floor. Our main issue was the lack of storage in the rooms. However, would also like to mention the size of the duvets, only having one pillow per bed, and the toilet cubicles didn’t feel private.

• Ásmundur Máni (7/5): Okay for a short stay - Great location and clean rooms. The room needs some fixing; the blinds did not work, the walls are in dire need of painting and even though the room is big it has nothing. When you are using maybe 6 m2 of the 13 m2 you advertise it might just be better to make the room smaller, it felt silly to be in such a big and empty room. The bathrooms always had sticky floors no matter the time of the day. Worst thing is that I still have no clue where the showers are. There was no info in my room, in the messages from the hostel, in the bathroom or anywhere else I could see. Granted I did not ask a staff member but that was mostly because I was always running in or out and since I only stayed two days I just skipped it for that time. But interesting to see how there is no information about this anywhere.

• Friðrik Hrafn (1/5): Really bad - The room was open when I came and the smell there was terrible. When I used the bathroom the smell was also terrible and toilet papers all around and shit on the toilets. I needed to switch to another stay because I could not be there. When i left, there was no one in the reception. I sent an email the next day an the only answer i got was that they can not do anything about this because I didn’t let them know when I left. I told them I tried but there was no one around and in the reception. They did not take any accountability for anything and basically told me that it was my fault because I didn’t wait longer until someone would show up in the reception. Do not recommend
