- Soraya (6/5): - Staff is nice and friendly, and the location is very convenient. Whether it is really clean... with bedsheets really fresh... not so sure. Soap was missing in both shower and sink area, and they promptly brought me... a half used Nivea Men shower gel bottle, and a small shampoo bottle from a random hotel. Well, all a bit improvised, but the staff was at least trying their best and I don't think it is their fault.

- 517chakibm (2/5): Unacceptable Reception and Poor Service - I stayed at the Grand Hotel Empire in Frankfurt from June 21 to June 22, 2024, booked by Lufthansa due to a delayed flight. My late check-out at 2 PM on June 22 was a nightmare due to the unacceptable behavior of the receptionist. After a quick tour in Frankfurt, I missed my transport and returned to check out and retrieve my luggage. Upon my arrival, before even entering the hotel, the receptionist approached me on the street, saying: “Oh, you’re the one from room 404?” He aggressively confronted me about an additional payment, saying: “You must pay the extra, or your card won’t work, and you’ll be stuck here. I don’t care about the rest.” His tone was extremely aggressive and inappropriate. Even the taxi driver had to intervene to calm the situation. When I mentioned that I would write a complaint, the receptionist, who appeared to be of Indian descent, dismissively said he didn’t care. Such behavior is unworthy of a receptionist. As a hospitality professional myself, I find this unacceptable. I strongly advise Lufthansa not to send their clients to such a hotel, especially after delayed flights. It harms Lufthansa’s image and customer satisfaction. I strongly discourage staying at this hotel due to this very unpleasant experience.

- rickyv_12 (4/5): I was stranded after my flight was cancelled, airline booked this hotel. - The hotel is located conveniently outside the station, which is ot the nicest area of Frankfurt, actually kn the evening ot seems you are not in Germany. The hotel is not new or newly renovated; rooms seems quite obsolete but mine was clean. Sound proofing is not really the best as you can hear clearly what tour next door is doing. worst point is the "restaurant", I think you are better not even trying that, as there is almost nothing eatablecor drinkable. Diet is your best option to keep safe and healthy. Next time I will sleep in the terminal. Hotel is motel likely a 2 stars

Two of those three nights we had people walk into our rooms at around 2 am. We had to adjoining rooms with one being for my husband and I and the other for my children. First there are no peepholes to see who would be at your door. We had the deadbolts on in both rooms. The first night, a guest walked into my room because they were given a key to our room. It was a mix up and while scary, I understood. When I called the front desk they did apologize for the mistake. The second night someone entered my children's room. They left when she noticed they were there. Like I said the doors were bolted so obviously they do not work. I went down to the lobby the second night after them not answering the phone. I was extremely upset that someone had gotten into my children's room and the women at the desk yelled at me to get out. The male at the desk grabbed me by the arm which was uncalled for. He escorted me upstairs and when he saw my husband was only then apologetic. The elevator has a space where you are supposed to use your key to go up but it works without a key. We had to put furniture in front of our doors after the second intrusion. If you choose to stay here I recommend you do that. There were stains on the curtains and the bathroom walls. There are many other hotels around the train station, I would recommend you choose one of those.

- 514robynw (10/5): Very clean and centrally located - This hotel in centrally located in heart of Frankfurt. It does not have a grand entrance but once inside the staff is professional and the hotel is very clean and modern. It is located right across the street from the main train station so there is a lot going on outside. Once you shut the windows though you can't hear much going on in street. The shower is in the middle of the room which I have never seen this in a hotel room, but it works for the layout of the room. The rooftop breakfast which is outstanding has a wonderful panoramic view of the city. The hotel staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit the city of Frankfurt.

Walls are very thin you can hear someone taking a shower or talking in room next to yours. The breakfast was sub par and tasted awful. Overall a disappointing stay and would avoid it again in the future.

- Headwes (8/5): Fine for a short business trip - This is a mysterious place. I have now stayed twice in this 8-floor hotel and never seen more than four people at breakfast. I stay here as it is the only reasonable hotel convenient for my business meetings with a (small but relatively well-equipped) fitness room. As far as I can tell I am the only person who uses it and the associated sauna that was switched on for me on request. Essentially this is a perfectly good hotel right next to the station that no-one seems to have found - I don't know how it stays in business. Breakfast is a bit limited but rooms are fine, WiFi is fine and staff are helpful. It even still has things in the mini-bar. Some people have complained about it being near the red light district which is another way of saying near the station and the centre of Frankfurt. I will be staying here until it goes bust...

- jimwD2716XP (6/5): Covered the essentials. - Firstly - There is enough to be pleased about to consider this hotel. However, this is no four star hotel in the Western sense. The hotel proudly displays them ( I presume but am guessing) in another life with other owners some years ago, maybe it was. The things you may expect are "basically" covered, but more like s tick box exercise than an effort to deliver customer experience. We had three rooms on a business trip to Messe Event area. All were adequate but all had a bad smell in them and were old a very tired. The ide of putting showers in the room and the obvious delicate plumbing arrangements mean you cannot avoid the drains. However the rooms and bathrooms were clean and maintained well. The reception is a basic office environment the staff cheerful and welcoming. More like checking into an industrial unit than a four star hotel though. The breakfast room / restaurant looks old and tired, indeed there are signs of work in progress (my table was under a beer tap!)The food was OK, no issue but no praise either. The location is good - across from Frankfort main, the reason we chose it. I do not agree with other criticisms' of this, the location near a train station is the same in virtually every city nowadays in Europe. Rundown and attractive to lifes transients. It would be worrying if you have women or children though in your party. So - Value for money -Yes Clean- Yes Location OK - Yes. Four Star - No

- Shannon (10/5): - Had a great stay here. Large, comfortable, quiet room. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options. Walkable to most sights and close to bus/train stations for easy access if you’re on the go. Lots of dining options nearby along Kaiserstraße. The area might seem a bit unsavory to some, but I never felt unsafe walking about. I would stay here again. Good price, quality, and location for ease of getting around.

- Egilsm (2/5): Unprofessional and untrustworthy - The hotel is simple, but gives reasonable value for money. My room was nicely refurbished, but with a very small window, contributing to a somewhere dark impression. Breakfast was very simple, maybe due to a low occupancy rate because of the pandemic. House cleaning was overall OK, but one of the coffee mug was not cleaned at all since the last guest left. The main reason for my low rating, however, is that I booked a two night stay that could be cancelled until 6PM on the day of arrival. Two hours before this I informed the hotel that my plans had changed, and I would stay just one night. The hotel has so far (one week later) refused to agree to refund this second night, in clear violation of the terms of my booking. So I recommend everyone to stay away from this unprofessional hotel.

For some reason the female staff in the restaurants were exceptionally rude and unhelpful. Also, the facilities are nice, but the rooms need to be cleaned and vacuumed between guests and the bedsheets need to be changed. My bedding was clearly used, it was stained and covered with a ton of dark curly hairs and they were not mine. That’s nonnegotiable. You have to wash the bedding between guests. Also, the lock on my door didn’t work and they told me to just not worry about it-which is also not acceptable. These things do need to be fixed and they are an easy fix.

It's quite convenient since you can watch TV while taking a shower... so that was great! However, if you're thinking about saving money and stay in a double room with a co-worker, keep in mind the shower is still in the middle of the room for the double room! Breakfast buffet was pretty good, which offers a good selection of cold and hot food. Will definitely come back next yera!
- vipfamily (10/5): Central location - I had read some of alarmist reviews and was a little wary. I needn't have been as cautious as I was. The hotel is in a superb location for accessing public transport being right by the Main Frankfurt station. We arrived before 12 noon but our rooms were ready for us. Having booked a single room I was pleasantly surprised to have a spacious double room. My room was at the front of the hotel so of course if the windows were open it was noisy. I had an issue that the door didn't lock went closed but this was remedied immediately. On another occasion my key card stopped working and again this was swiftly dealt with. In the room were 2 good sized single beds, a 2 seater sofa plus work area and chair. Wardrobe was adequate for a short stay. Tea and coffee making facilities were very welcome. I didn't have anything from the mini bar but the prices were not horrendous (and cheaper than the exhibition centre!!). Toiletries are a soap dispenser at the hand wash basin, shower gel in the shower, small bottles of shampoo, body lotion. The shower cabin is in the room. Always plenty of hot water and strong jets of water (adjustable). Housekeeping was performed daily and was very efficient and good. OK now Saturday night was a little interesting!!! As said this is in a very central location next to the station and opposite there is a hostel for the homeless. I wasn't 100% sure what was going on but there were lots of sirens and police around! Mind you I wouldn't have noticed had I not had the window open! Breakfast. Buffet style mix of hot and cold dishes including bacon, sausage, scrambled and boiled egg, beans, rice, cheeses, cold meats, cereals, yoghurts, tomatoes, cucumber. breads and a toaster. This was the same each day but with the variety offered it would be possible to have different breakfast each day! I mentioned at reception that the plates needed to be warm for the hot choices and the next morning this was done (and the days after). I found all staff to be polite and very helpful. Yes due to the location you do see a very wide variety of life but this adds to the experience! There are some good small shops around for sundries and some cheap and cheerful eating places on the station. All in all a good stay in a central location just 2 stations away from the Frankfurt Messe for main trade exhibitions etc.

- Mfattah1973 (6/5): Decent hotel and great location - The hotel is a decent and average hotel.. reception is very nice and check in is very fast and friendly, rooms are not very updated but bigger than usual and clean... breakfast is nice but there is much to be done to improve the labeling of the dishes..the location of the hotel is the biggest advantage where you are in the middle of everything.
- dangerouslocation (2/5): Red light District - Their website doesn't say that they are in the middle of prostitutes and drug deals. i booked this room because it's a "4 star" hotel. I showed up with my kids only to find out it's not at all safe for kids. I tried to cancel due to this reason and was told I could not. I had to book another hotel and ended up paying for 2 hotels.

- thomassH4843ZX (10/5): Clean, Spacious, excellent location for travelers - Located at the Frankfurt main train station (Frankfurt am Main Hbf), this hotel is comfortable, clean, and has a huge breakfast spread that stays up until 11. With a 12PM checkout time, this hotel worked out really well as it allowed us to sleep in after a long trip before heading out to the airport. For families, they have adjoining rooms that can be booked together for around $150 for the pair. A great value and a solid class hotel. Did not get to check out the fitness room, but if it was on par with everything else I imagine they have what it takes. Will definitely stay here again.
- Chris (6/5): Hotel close to bus and train station - Check in was not welcoming. They will not take card for city tax and wanted it paid in cash at check in. I travel all over the world and stay in hotels 100 days in a year and never was told cash in advance for city tax. The fitness Centre has good equipment but in small room in cellar without ventaltion or air cond so it was unless to have a good workout as you feel like you were in heated box without windows. The most repulsive sight was the balcony / terrace for which you can got outside to enjoy view with your breakfast. The wood flooring was littered with discarded cigarette butts and small pieces of paper. I had to get up and move back inside as I can't not stand the sight of this rubbish whilst eating my food. The location is good but unless management addresses these concerns, I don't think I would return to this property. In fact, I did not, as I returned to Frankfurt 5 days later and choose another hotel even though it was a bit dearer
- Alexander1969 (10/5): Centrally located, easy to get around from - I spent 6 nights at this hotel and it was really a nice location. It is directly in front of the Hauptbanhhof, making the use of public transportation easy. The room was well appointed, I was on the second floor and the street noise was minimal once I closed the windows. The rooms are modern, well furbished, with the shower (Middle of the room) and bathroom completely separated. It is equiped with a fitness facility, with machines, free weights, it actually has a bench press station with just enough weights to keep most happy. Breakfast was excellent, the food didn't change much but the variety of foods was excellent. The WiFi and air conditioning worked very well during the entire stay. I paid $70 per night so there was value great value to the facility. All in all, I had a great stay at the hotel.

I booked because it's close to the train station and has a gym, but no air con or WiFi makes this place a 2 star hotel at best. Will never stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Gooe location. - Good place to stay if you plan to use trains, busses, trams, taxis, local tour company for getting around. There are a few more upscale but also more expensive hotels in the same area. Most of the staff are south Asian, polite, and very helpful.

- E_Panama (6/5): At best, a 3-star hotel - Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for business meetings. I chose the Grand Empire Hotel because I thought proximity to the Central Train Station was important, and because it had a gym. I found that subway connectivity is so good in the city, that being close to the train station is not important. The room said it was four stars, but in reality it would be maybe a good 3-star hotel. Honestly, there are a lot better options in the city. The positives include that the room was fairly large and fairly clean, and it was easy to get to the hotel from the station. The bed was okay, and the bathroom was clean enough. But, there were a lot of problem. The service was poor. Requests to the front desk were not addressed at all. The wifi was extremely slow, useful only for email, chat and browsing, nothing like streaming or remote connections. The air conditioning was a joke, it barely kept the room at 75 degrees, and daily calls to the front desk didn't fix anything. The minibar refrigerator didn't cool items at all. Bottles inside and outside the fridge had the same temperature. There was only a dispenser for hand wash and for shower gel in the bathroom, no soap or shampoo. There was a gym, in the basement, that was a maze to find. But it was very cramped, not a lot of machines, and it had no air conditioning at all! The breakfast buffet was only passable. It had the basics, nothing more, and you could tell them were not quality. The price was very affordable, but I wouldn't stay here again.

- M (2/5): - I stayed in your hotel for 4 days and I had a horrible experience. They posted a picture of a different room and they gave me a small one which the shower was in the middle of the room. Cleaners used old pillow cover sheets to wipe the coffee cops instead of washing them. I asked one cleaner to bring me a new coffee cops but he used an old pillow cover to wipe the old ones. My phone was blocked and I could not call outside. I had a guest over and the mentally ill receptionist followed her to the elevator and kept calling us in our room. He claimed that because I was having a guest I must paid 30 euros more. I told him that I will come downstairs but your receptionist grabbed my guest and yelled at her and kicked her our out of the hotel. (She could call the police now) After that he mentioned if she had signed in, there would be no problem and still I had to pay 20 more euros. I did not wanted to argue with him as he clearly had a mental illness. He also deactivated my card twice and this also happen a day before after I eat my breakfast my card was deactivated. The first day when I wanted to call expedia, my wifi was not working and it took me a long time to call the expedia customer service. When I was checking out the hotel the cleaners were mocking me and your receptionist refused to give me a receipt. I did not use anything from the mini bar and I hope they are not planning to charge me.

Area is not safe at all you will see drudged out people all over, staff were very very rude and unprofessional. If you care about your life and health stay away from this place I will not stay at this hotel again even for free.

Convenient for train station, friendly owner/manager and reception staff, clean well maintained room with good luggage space and separate toilet from shower. I guess some people would not like the glass cube shower in the room, with no privacy, but as a single traveller it was no problem to me. Breakfast is included and amazing: really wide range of tasty hot and cold food, and a nice outdoor terrace if weather permits. And all this for bargain price! Great work people!

- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible front staff - The room is okay and location is good. However, the front staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. They will ask for a credit card and will copy it and document it without permission. I asked for an explanation about that and the staff started to yell at me saying that they will take good care of the copied document, which was obviously not true because they actually showed a different customers credit card copy to me while saying that. The other customers waiting in line also agreed with my opinion that the service is terrible but they got shouted at too. I told the old staff with glasses and beard (which was the worst) that this is absolutely unacceptable and I need to write about this and he told me to write whatever I want. It turns out he wasn’t even manager which explains why he was so unprofessional, uneducated and unreasonable. I usually do not write reviews, but am writing this one so everyone can be aware.

Lots of positives: Clean room, comfy bed, string hot stand-along shower, separate toilet room, ironing board, good wifi, downstairs bar, quiet even in a busy but convenient location. Excellent value for money with such a good quality and varied breakfast included. Only two negatives: The walls might be a bit thin as I could hear the neighbour snoring and then moving around in his room. Also, the safe could not take a 15" laptop.

- Maher (2/5): Over rated - Worst hotel you might think to stay in, far too over rated, run by owner and his family whom seems have no clue about hotels and hotel management.. the rcepcionest refused to give me an invoice when I checked out, he said in words: get your invoice from hotel.com ..” you were booked through them and you are charged far too much, we can’t issue you an invoice with that amount ..”

For some reason the doors at this hotel slam harder than any other hotel we have ever stayed in regardless of price or location. We were told that it is a standard housekeeping procedure to slam doors. Hotel doors have the pneumatic arms to help close the doors but at this hotel uses industrial type arms. It was hard for us to gain sleep and in the morning housekeeping duties started early so our sleep was abruptly ended as well. Checked out a night early (originally a 2 night stay) and naturally we were denied a refund. Not going back for sure.

(2/5): Was going well...until bedbugs in room - I booked two family suite rooms (basically two sets of rooms with connecting doors) for myself and three other colleagues on a business trip to Frankfurt . I selected this location because of the proximity to the train station (meetings in other cities) as well as to the sights in Frankfurt. The other key criteria was cleanliness. While I had seen the reviews warning of the sketchiness of the area after dark, we were not overly concerned as we planned to be back in our hotel rooms after supper each night. That said, the descriptions, reviews and amenities provided by the hotel were accurate and we spent the first four nights comfortably in a hotel that was as described. There was free WiFi and as some other reviewers posted, you do have to sign in each say. Some days it was very slow, but was certainly acceptable. The free breakfast provided had more options than anyone expected so that wad a nice surprise. Different types of baked goods, cold cures, cheeses. Staff were polite and accommodating. However, the last morning as we were getting ready to check out to catch our cab to the airport, my colleague knocked on the connecting door and asked if I could tell her if what she is seeing on her bed was a bedbug. I ran into her room, and sure enough, there was the recognizable Apple seed shaped bug crawling along her bed. I tried to take a picture but it was blurry. She then pointed out another one on the other twin (bed) crawling along. I grabbed a mug as I thought to capture it so we could take it to the lobby. As we tried, it got squished and left a blood blot on the bed. We went downstairs and when my colleague explained what she had found in the room, the counter staff asked her if she wanted to complain and provided her a business card with contact info. I can't believe that was the only response. Disappointing...and super gross.....
