Important Information
Guests are aged between 18-40 as this is a youth traveling hostel.
A valid government issued ID is required at check-in (passport, driving license, European travel card). Guests who do not have ID are not permitted to stay.
Please note that some of the dormitory rooms have triple bunk beds.
Payment will be taken in full upon arrival. Bookings are generally nonrefundable (except at the manager's discretion should the same booking be resold).
The Phenix Hostel operates a 14-day maximum stay policy. After this, a period of 6 months must pass before the guest can book again.
This property does not accept group bookings of more than 15 guests.

- Hilmi (1/5): The worst hostel you can get - NOTHING. It is like the worst hostel that you can choose to live. SO MANY THINGS. The room barely fits. Imagine putting 12 people in idk a small square room with noisy drunk people and rusty lockers. The smell also sucks and there's like non-existent ventilation cause if you want to open the window then one of your neighbor will ask you to close it. Not only that, The place too is kinda far from main city. The worst thing: YOU CAN'T CHARGE YOUR PHONE IF YOU SLEEP ON THE HIGHER LEVELS BECAUSE YOU NEED RO SHARE WITH OTHERS AT THE FLOOR. WHAT THE HELL? The day I stepped my foot in on of the room was the worst moment of my vacation in London. When I got up to my bed on the third level (the highest) that barely fits me without hitting the ceiling, and lting down with worst ventilation, I booked another hostel and just leave. Within an hour too. Just don't put yourself to what I had face.

- Nabaz (1/5): A distressing and unsafe stay where my vulnerability and safety concerns were ignored, let down - Nothing to like about this horrible place I told the staff at The Phoenix Hostel Paddington several times that I am 50 years old, vulnerable, and have disabilities. I also told them I had been harassed and bullied by two men two nights earlier and asked not to be placed in the same room with them again. Despite this, the hostel put me back in the same room and same bunk-bed area with them. They had previously kept me awake until around 2am, woke me at 5am with a loud Islamic Azan phone alert, refused to stop it, turned on the lights, made excessive noise, laughed at me, and said it was funny. I was then harassed again until around 4:30am and attacked in the face with a trainer. Instead of protecting me or moving me to a safe room, the hostel removed me at around 5am, kept the people I complained about, and banned me. My only “crime” was calling the police because staff refused to deal with the situation. The hostel failed to take my vulnerability, disability, safety concerns, and repeated complaints seriously. I felt unsafe, ignored, and unfairly treated. I called the police for help, but I felt they took the side of the people who attacked me, laughed at me and my vulnerability, and treated me as if I was the attacker rather than the victim.

Les toilettes et les salles de bain étaient très petites, sales et mal entretenues. Les draps ne semblaient pas être changés régulièrement. La connexion Internet ne fonctionnait pratiquement pas. Le comportement du personnel était également décevant et le service client très mauvais. Je partage cet avis pour avertir les futurs voyageurs et éviter que d’autres clients soient déçus par des conditions qui ne correspondent pas à ce qui est annoncé sur Booking Mon séjour de cinq nuits du 9 au 14 mai dans Phoenix Hostel a été une très mauvaise expérience. I prefer a female dorm. I left quickly and reported the matter to Booking.com customer service. I was offered a top bunk bed in a female dorm instead of the lower bunk bed I requested. I declined the lower bunk bed offered in a mixed dorm. I left the property quickly as I am 60 years and I could not sleep on a top bunk bed.

- DAnielle (3/5): Je ne le conseil pas, même pour ce tarif très attractif - C'est vrai que ce n'est pas cher, il ne fallait pas s'attendre au Ritz. Il est plutôt bien placé. A l'accueil le personnel est sympa C'est glauque. A ce prix là on pouvait s'y attendre, mais bon. Il n'y a aucune rideau dans les lits pour un minimum d'intimité. C'est une petite pièce dans laquelle sont entassés 8 lits. La salle de réception est sinistre et sale, on n'à qu'une envie c'est de fuir, pas de coin cuisine, juste un micro ondes ( j'ai pas osé regarder son état) . C'est globalement très sale et vétuste. J'avais réservé pour 3 nuits, mais je suis parti le lendemain pour trouver une auberge de jeunesse bien plus sympa.

Not only when it was discovered in the room I stayed we contacted the staff and they said they would spray but they never did, but also they moved people from one dorm to another, but they also did nothing about it. As a result most people left these dorms, including myself, right after we understood that they don't care about hygiene issues. Don't book it!!

Can’t define it’s because of price or not, but other guests at my room were really annoying. Back at late night, midnight shower, moving their luggage around, watching movie, just inconsiderate silly people. There was no curtains on each bed so I was much sensitive than normal anyway. And no places to change my phone on the bedside.

- Roselyne Lydivine (7/5): I loved it - The room and the bedding were clean and confortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful There were too many drunk people near the hostel. They were not from the hostel.

- Laurine (3/5): Personne accueillant mais pas très propre et pas sentie à l’aise avec autres résidants.. - L’emplacement est bien placé le personnel d’accueil est super gentil et accueillant ! Cependant le lieu n’est pas très propre et les autres résidents assez inconfortables, j’avais réservé trois nuits je ne suis restée qu’une seule car je ne me sentais pas à l’aise..
- Dr Walid (1/5): Not recommended - Location Place wasn't clean. Staff were so rude. Bed wasn't available when my colleague went back to sleep, found a dirty drunk stranger sleeping on his bed. Total experience was horrible had to make my friend leave in the second day

- Navarro (2/5): It was a very disappointing stay and I would not recommend it. - The only positive aspect was the kindness of Pedro and Valentine, and Jaqueline from housekeeping, who was very attentive. I didn’t feel comfortable with the overall atmosphere, as people were frequently drinking at night and some appeared to be using drugs in the common areas, including the lounge/reception. This made it feel unsafe, especially as a solo female traveler. The cleanliness and maintenance were also poor (old mattresses and hygiene issues), and the fridge was overcrowded and disorganized, making it difficult to use. I also had an issue with my bed that caused an allergic reaction due to bugs I saw while lying there. Additionally, I requested a refund when I decided to leave early, but it was never processed.

- Miriam (1/5): No cojas este hotel por favor! - Solo me a gustado que estaba cerca del bus Dios! Es el prior hotel, por llamarlo de alguna manera que he estado. Llegas allí y da miedo! Parece un albergue de indigentes! La gente descalza en el bar/recepcion… la habitación individual, daba asco! La pared llena de mocos con sangre….suciedad por todo el colchón…y ahora vine lo más fuerte…cucarachas y chinches. A día de hoy….tengo picadas a causa de el colchón infectado de chinches. El hotel, huele a basura…suciedad y marihuana. El baño, dios! Daba mucho asco y grima! Es que es todo malo… daba asco tocar cualquier cosa. No quise consumir nada del bar porque daba asco….la gente descalza por el bar…parecía un centro de toxicomanos! Es asqueroso! Debería de estar cerrado! No cojas este hotel! Yo pasé miedo, pensaba que nos robarían en cualquier momento! Adjunto fotos de mi estado actual ….

- Robert (4/5): Hostel from hell - The night manager who on my second night moved me from the room from hell, 11 downstairs, to 8. WHAT A STAR THAT GUY!. Was booked for 4 nights & only stayed 2 as I bought a car in Norwich. Would have slept in the car were it not for an offer of the spare room from a mate in Wales!. Too many things in my mind to mention & would only come over as pedantic. Location was about the only thing going for it.
