Excellent buffet breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. High-class restaurant menu. The room was a bit cramped for three people and suitcases. The gym equipment was not what we're used to. And we weren't expecting the hotel to be next to the very large geothermal power station.

The hotel was peaceful, cozy, and had such a calming atmosphere that made it easy to truly relax and enjoy the surroundings. What made our experience even more special was the exceptional hospitality from the staff, especially Anna at reception. She went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met and always greeted us with kindness and warmth. Her attentiveness and genuine care made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The food was amazing as well and exceeded our expectations. Every meal was delicious and added even more to the overall experience. If you are looking for tranquility, comfort, outstanding service, and great food in Iceland, I would highly recommend this hotel N/A

• Daniel Chan (8/5): A good alternative to the Blue Lagoon hotel - Though it looks a bit dated, the hotel provides quality toilet wares and This establishment may present a slightly vintage aesthetic. However, one can expect a high standard of amenities in the washroom facilities. The provision of quality toiletries is a definite plus point for guests. It suggests a commitment to guest comfort, even with a dated appearance. This attention to detail in the smaller comforts is noteworthy. It is a good alternative to the Blue Lagoon hotel at only 5min by driving to the lagoon. The breakfast was a good spread. The shower screen design allows water to be sprayed out to the toilet floor. It is good to have a shower curtain at least. There's not enough hooks in the toilet.

• Pauline (10/5): - Our stay at Northern Lights Inn was the best part of our trip to Iceland. The location couldn't be better, It’s so close to the Blue Lagoon and to the airport. Parking is also great. The staff were super friendly and the fish & chips served at the restaurant are incredible. Honestly, some of the best we’ve ever had. It almost felt like a retreat. Seeing the northern lights right at our doorstep was pure magic. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to visit the spa, even though we had booked a room that included access. None

• richard (5/5): Only one word can describe our stay…Awful. - The standout was the cleanliness, reception staff and food was good. Some nice areas to the place. The location, awful. The ugliest area of Iceland we visited, imagine the Simpson’s - Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Yes it’s a volcanic area but it’s a power plant, it’s unsightly, it stinks and it’s massively overpriced. £320 a nite for 1 adult & 2 kids. Didn’t even include the sauna, wanted an extra £15 per person per day. Ridiculous. The only reason this place exists is as an overflow to to even more overpriced accommodation at the Blue Lagoon. Not one guest I spoke to would return to either NLI or BL, NLI is basically a motel you’d pay $60 a nite in Florida. Be aware of long term construction work around BL, plant machinery everywhere and Grindavík is basically a ghost town. They don’t tell you this beforehand as it’s Iceland’s big moneymaker.

Ziggy and Karolina were the kindest humans on earth and they were always so willing to ensure guests had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was also delicious! I loved the restaurant in the hotel however I wish there were more options for dinner.

I was so pleased with the value I received and how lovely the ladies were with me and my mother on this special trip. The shuttle was a fantastic plus. Just wonderful family-owned business run well that is nearby the blue lagoon.
• Nicole (10/5): Perfect Blue Lagoon stopover hotel for family - Super helpful and friendly staff, delicious dinner and breakfast, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and we really appreciated the free shuttle to the blue lagoon. We also liked that the restaurant stayed open until 9:30 since our flight didn’t land until after 7pm. Our room had two twin beds and one king. Our kids appreciated not having to share a bed. Perfect for our 24 hour stopover! Nothing negative! Would stay here again.

• Nancy (8/5): 3 night stop on the way home to relax, go to the Blue Lagoon, and hopefully see Northern Lights. - Room was larger than expected and had a nice bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and offered a lot of choices. Location was next to Blue Lagoon. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. Most restaurant staff were great. Room was too warm for sleeping and although the staff tried, the only real way to cool it down was to open the window, which sometimes let the sulfur smell in. A couple of staff were rude or nonresponsive - one issue with restaurant staff and one with cleaning staff. A shuttle from/to the airport would have been an added plus. The taxi was very expensive.

You go can go walking, but if the weather is not so good, they can take you for free. It’s a great chance that you can see the northern light because it’s away from the city. • Jekaterina (10/5): Cozy stay in remote Iceland - We did really enjoy our stay, and the atmosphere in the Inn felt like at home. Rooms may be a bit dated and beds are not very wide when staying in Twin room - but everything is clean and common spaces are really cozy - with free tea/coffee/hot chocolate for all guests, games available and fireplace in the evening. All employees are very friendly and ready to help with any issue. Emplyees in general and in restauramt are very attentive. The location is quite remote with no shops/supermarket nearby with restaurant of the Inn and restaurant/cafe in Blue lagoon. However, possibility of having a real starry skies during the night time and possibility to see nothern lights (the reception does call your room to wake you up once there are the lights, if you sign up for a call and weather is favourable) compensates it. Great location for couople of nights stay in relxed/calm atmosphere or if you are with the car to get to other places. Really great transfer to/from Blue Lagoon and same tranfer can be used to get to bus to Reykjavik. Breakfast was really great with various options and delicious hot food. We did also have dinner in the restaurant and it is plenty of options with really good quality of dishes and nice sized portions. The price per room may be a bit higher than the quality, but Iceland in general is quite pricey and for the price you also get option to potentially see Northern Lights which can be a bonus.

• Silja (7/5): Great location for blue lagoon, nice rooms, slightly too expensive - - spacious room - nicely equipped - very nice and helpful staff - great location to explore the blue lagoon and the most recent lava field as well as Reykjanes peninsula - aurora wake-up call after midnight - nice breakfast with all you need - very nice and cozy lounge rooms with honesty bar, coffee & tea for free all day - not really kids friendly equipped (eg no hot chocolate or so at the honesty bar/ coffee/ tea machine, no play area, card games or alike) - view is either parking lot or the thermal power plant… (it’s clear from the location though) - with our 2 kids it was one of the most expensive rooms on our Iceland trip (389€ for one night) and we think the value for money was just medium

Amplasarea este in zona vulcanica unde poti vedea adevarata putere a naturii, lava de la eruptiile vulcanice pe intinderi imense. Personalul este extraordinar si doresc sale multumesc pe acesta cale pentru ajutorul acordart in exploatarea zonei . Nu exista asa ceva .

• Oleksandra (10/5): Super! Thanks! - A truly heartfelt and cozy place. The rooms are simple but very comfortable. The staff is absolutely amazing — they woke us up in the middle of the night to watch the Northern Lights, and it was an unbelievable, magical experience we’ll never forget. The hotel is literally just a two-minute drive from the Blue Lagoon. Breakfasts are great (the oatmeal is out of this world!), and dinner was delicious too. There’s also a fantastic virtual tour of Iceland available in the hotel — a really interesting and colorful video, especially mesmerizing when it shows the volcanoes and boiling lava from above. N/a

• Paul (10/5): A MUST visit, great hotel all round. - Shame I cannot give a score higher than 10 to be honest. Stayed in early February in a deluxe double with free access to the spa facilities (sauna/ steam room etc..), all were in great condition, clean and modern. Plenty of extras in the room, lots of toiletries and a nice touch in the mini fridge, water, some soft drinks and some Martini, all restocked each day and all complimentary. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we really loved the Northern Light alarm call when they appear in the skies, we were luckily enough to see them 3 times and 4 days. Eating evening dinner at Max’s restaurant is an absolute MUST, whether you’re a fish person or meat, the food was exceptional and the fish of the day was an absolute highlight. This hotel/restaurant bucks the trend when it comes to the food served, the food was just as great as the hotel!!!! Oh yea, the honesty bar is a lovely touch where you can get lots of different chilled drinks and just write your room number on the paper and off you go. Nothing, it was amazing!

Beautifully designed and located, run with love and care for guests, this place i - The homely, hygge feeling, the tall chalet-like ceilings, the way the hotel blends with the landscape and the way you can nearly touch the lava if you just lean from the window, the beautiful fireplace that reminded me of films I watched about Viking halls and finally, the Honesty Bar. It was like being at home just popping to the kitchen to grab a drink and a board game. The spa was awesome as well, I love a good sauna! We liked everything; the only thing I would make more available and obvious is the hiking routes you can take on foot from the hotel. I didn’t realise there was much more to do than Blue Lagoon and Aurora, I would have stayed longer. Although next time I’ll probably come with a car :) also, would have been lovely to have a hotel dog. We need more dogs in hotels. I am a dog lover though, it’s not for everyone.

• Lorena (6/5): Ok - O silêncio, produtos de higiene pessoal. Café da manhã sem muitas opções, o hotel é extremamente caro pra um quarto que literalmente não tinha nada demais. O silêncio é o ponto chave pra quem gosta, mas não vale de forma alguma o valor em reais. Aconselho ficar em um hotel no centro.

• Mario (7/5): Super Lage, freundliches Personal, nicht ganz dem Preis entsprechend - Die Lage war gut für die Nordlichter. Personal sehr freundlich. Kurze Fahrtzeit zum Flughafen (KEF). Deluxe Doppelzimmer war sehr geräumig. Außergewöhnlich gute Dusch/-und Pflegeprodukte. Ausgezeichnet gutes Essen im Maxrestaurant. Sehr gmeütliche Aufenthaltsräume Frühstück war mau. Der Frühstücksraum war etwas uneinladend und das anschließende Restaurant war auch eher spartanisch eingerichtet. Beide Blick auf angrenzende blaue Lagune bzw. Kraftwerk. Standard Doppelzimmer war „ok“. In der Dusche war der Duschhahn defekt und die Armatur sehr in Mitleidenschaft gezogen. Sauna und Dampfbad nicht 100% sauber und keine Öle für Aufguss + Duschhahn im Wellnessbereich ebenfalls defekt.

• Lisa (10/5): Convenient location to airport, Blue Lagoon & Grindavik area. Clean & Spacious! - Breakfast room was big beautiful & bright (even in Jan)& very clean!. This is a very well appointed moderately priced hotel. Current hang out areas away from lobby were your group can gather to play games & enjoy one another. Fireplace in one of these lounges was a bonus. Also the honor bar was perfect for my husband who likes a couple of beers to take to our room, plus complimentary hot chocolate & a few other non alcoholic drinks. The vanity space in the bathroom could have been better, but that seems to be common in all of the places we stayed throughout Switzerland, Austria & Iceland.

• Jennifer (9/5): - One of the most amazing staff I ever met. They will make sure you are always comfortable as much as they can, especially amazing Ziggy 😍 Cozy and very warm space with many beautiful corners to just sit, sip a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and see majestic Iceland.
• Cressida (10/5): Amazing location and friendly helpful staff! - Lovely location, staff were really friendly and even give you the option to be woken up at night if there are Northern Lights to see! It’s a 20 min drive from the coast, right beside the Blue Lagoon and about 2hrs away from the Golden Circle Route. Food was great. N/A - we loved it!
• Kat (10/5): Highly recommend - Exactly as the photos and description. Only stayed one night for an extended layover, but I immediately knew it was somewhere I’d stay again. The front desk staff was very helpful in setting up a taxi for my return, they have a shuttle to the blue lagoon and a restaurant on site. Was very happy with everything overall! Not a single complaint!
