- Verified traveler (4/5): Didn’t deliver on basic promise - My wife and I stayed one night at this hotel between flights because it is close to the airport and offers a free shuttle bus. The room and breakfast were fine, but the hotel was a big failure in terms of the main reason for staying there. We emailed the hotel several times to get information about the shuttle, but received no reply. We had no idea where to find the shuttle at the airport nor its schedule. As a result we ended up paying for a possibly over-priced taxi. We did arrange to take the shuttle back to the airport the next day, but it left a half hour late. The hotel desk person apologized, but the stated reason of heavy traffic was not evident to us. Fortunately, we had built in enough time that it did not make us late for our flight.

El acceso entre pisos por escaleras , muy incomodo si vas con maleta grande. Cerca al aeropuerto pero no vale la pena y es mejor trasladarse a hoteles mas centricos.

- Edward (8/5): Spacious hotel - Despite the English name, very few members of staff speak English. One of the ground floor rooms had an external door that wouldn’t lock. Over the phone the staff didn’t understand the problem. When I went to reception, I put the issue into Google translate, straight away the staff offered to change the room and move the luggage. The rooms were spacious, however a lack of carpets etc meant that a noise in a room can be heard in many of the surrounding rooms.

The staff at the hotel has all of our paperwork ready and check in was a breeze. The property itself is beautiful and very convenient if flying into VVI. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms were huge and all had balconies overlooking the magnificent pool. The staff was attentive. We loved our stay.

I chose this hotel because they offered the airport shuttle. The bed was comfortable and room was clean, but the hairdryer was smoking when I turned it on and looked as if it might be burning, so was unable to use that. Was woken up by fireworks that sounded like they were going off at the pool right by my room at like 0800, followed by loud chanting/celebrating, not sure what was going on. Wasn’t informed of any amenities or breakfast on arrival, the lady at the desk did t know any English so the language barrier may have been the problem there. Was able to take the airport shuttle in the morning.

- Martin (6/5): - The main perk of this property is its proximity to Santa Cruz airport, and the free shuttle is very good. Our stay was limited to 10pm to 5am so we couldn't benefit from the free breakfast or the pool, which looked nice. Rooms were cavernous and had a balcony door that didn't lock. Free coffee in the morning didn't come out of the container and there were no cups or milk/sugar etc. Receptionists seemed a bit confused. But for an overnight stay when you have a connection at VVI, this is a great choice. For other kinds of stays, I can't comment.

If you have to over night in Santa Cruz then its great. 2 things are not good. 1. no elevator so if you have a second floor room you need to go up strairs 2. small van for airport pick up. They were on time and efficient but simply 4 passengers with bags is all the van can carry.

Shuttle to the airport in time but very dirty. Checked in took for ever. Front desk agent couldn’t find my reservation and after some time she made a call to the owner that confirmed I had all good.

Breakfast (included in room price) was tasty and offered many options. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It was too hot to enjoy pool and extensive grounds, but they looked great from our air conditioned room. The high cost for one night was worth it because of hotel proximity to airport and quality of food at restaurant.

- Verified traveler (8/5): A good hotel for overnight stay. - The hotel is the most nearby from the ViruViru airport. Just 5 minutes by car. For an overnight stay is perfect, I would probably would not stay for vacations as the hotel is located in highway. Dinner was good, service nice and they pick/drop you from aiport. Bedroom was really big, it felt even empty although all commodities were available. The only thing is that the bathroom had mold on the ceiling growing...not very nice to see.

The pool needed cleaning but is very large. Since most of the hotel has tile floors and cement walls, the sound is a problem at times. Overall, a good stay.

- lorraine (10/5): Sun Hotel is a small resort! - The Sun Hotel is beautiful and restful with air-conditioned rooms. We stay there every time we arrive in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. We love the outdoor pool! The breakfast buffet (included) is nicely done and even has eggs made to order. We arranged for the shuttle to/from Viru Viru International Airport and found it to be fast and convenient. Be aware that you would need to taxi to the downtown area (about a 30-minute ride) if you want to go there. Otherwise, it is being at a small resort with beautiful grounds and a spa onsite.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This hotel is located very near the Santa Cruz airport and has a shuttle service, so it is a good choice for an overnight stopover between flights to and from Santa Cruz. This is why we used it. They don't have a shuttle service to the centre of town, which is a pity particularly for the return as you have to be careful with taxis in Santa Cruz. It is a modern building and the rooms are quite large and comfortable. There is an outdoor pool for relaxation if the weather's OK (it wasn't for us). But I can't recommend it for more than a one-night stopover between flights. Little details show that more attention is needed to maintenance - e.g. no plug in the washbasin; apart from the immediate pool area the extensive grounds are a bit scruffy. Breakfast is OK. We ate lunch in a cavernous and empty dining room - OK but only up to 5-star standards as far as price was concerned. This was a weekday; perhaps they have more going on at weekends with day visitors from town. In short - good for a one-night stopover, but nearer 3-star than 5-star standard
