Guest Reviews
- Joanne (10/5): - Lovely stay, we had the best time
- Donna (10/5): Beautiful hut. Great hosts - Stayed in Leveret. Beautiful hut. They've thought of everything! Had a wonderful stay. Only issue we had was with the shower (wouldn't get hot) and the pillows. Apart from that it was perfect.
- Amy (10/5): Already looking at dates to come back! - What a perfect little place, with amazing hosts. The hut had everything you need, the hot tub was perfect. We will be back 😊
- Peter (10/5): - A very relaxing stay, great location which was very peaceful. Lots of extras including robes & slippers for the hot tub.
Despite ground frost on our 2nd night the Shepard’s hut was very warm and cosy ! Excellent night time skies as near to zero light pollution !
- Ross (10/5): Great couple of nights - We stayed 2 nights in the Curlew hut for my partners birthday. We got luck and had really clean crisp autumnal days, which gave amazing views of the dark skies.
The hut had everything we needed for the break but much longer than a couple of nights might be a bit trying. Hot tub took about 2 hours to warm up and was still warm the next day.
Great location close to Cragside which we highly recommend.
- Emma (10/5): - Wow! What an amazing place! We spent two nights in the Curlew hut which was in a perfect spot. The hut was cosy and clean and surprisingly spacious for what we needed. I loved the care package; such a thoughtful and convenient touch. We enjoyed the experience of getting the hot tub heated up and the fire pit, I think my partner has found a new hobby!
The huts are in a great location, local shop/petrol station nearby as well as a choice of places to eat although we would recommend The Three Wheats Head.
Plenty of places to go walking and hiking and we took a trip over to Holy Island which was less than an hour away.
The hosts maintained great communication and the welcome book on arrival was perfect. Thanks for a great weekend and we will be back!
- Andrew (10/5): - We had a really enjoyable stay. On arrival in the evening we were welcomed by our host with a friendly smile and a fresh pot of coffee.
The breakfast selection was amazing and the whole dining experience was lovely and very filling setting us up for the day.
The house is very secluded and peaceful and the surrounding area is also lovely.
- Julia (10/5): Fab! - Lovely stay in the bed and breakfast.
Great hosts, fab food, comfy room
Thanks so much!
- Laura (10/5): Truly amazing stay! - We had such a lovely time here. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and the hut was very well equipped! They had thought of everything, from toiletries, to practical kitchen equipment with instruction manuals, to thoughtful touches like hot water bottles, robes and slippers. They even put up happy birthday banners! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place for a relaxing getaway.
- Julie (10/5): Very chilled experience - Loved our hut called Leveret, self check in with Tim there if you need anything. Private setting with lovely little garden area had a swing seat and bistro table for two. We used the fire pit to BBQ, there is a great Spa in the village that has all you need for cooking or the butchers in Rothbury have the most amazing sausages. The hot tub takes 3 hours or so to heat up but once heated it lasts for ages so you don’t really need to keep feeding the fire once you feel it’s almost warm enough otherwise it gets too hot, the 2nd evening it was still warm so only needed a little fire going for an hour to give it a boost. Plenty of hot water and good shower, comfy bed and all you really need for your stay. Lovely complimentary hamper with coffee for cafitere, teabags, suger, milk, bread, butter, jam and marsh mellows.
Small fridge but enough for some drinks and bbq food. We enjoyed the rural quiet location nothing to be heard but sheep and birds in beautiful Northumberland.
- Rory (8/5): - Unique accomodation in a lovely rural setting.
Sadly it was raining and cool so we were unable to use the facilities outside. The small woodburner inside was great and we spent a cosy night in Leveret.
Space is at a premium if you're travelling with large cases.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely B&B
- Sebastian (10/5): - I absolutely adored my stay here. The owners were so kind and really went the extra mile to be friendly and look after us. The room was beautiful and very comfy and spacious. The walking in the local area, including in the grounds of the property, was brilliant. I hope to come back again soon, I enjoyed myself so much.
- Peter (10/5): - Reception and attention couldn't have been better. Great base for the area. Nothing too much trouble.
- Vincent (10/5): A really wonderful B&B in a beautiful setting. - Westfield House Farm is a delightful and spotlessly clean B&B in a beautiful setting.
The host was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was large and bright and had everything you would expect for a comfortable stay.
The breakfast was sumptuous with plenty of choice to suit all tastes.
We would recommend this B&B to anyone and have already done so to our friends since we returned.
- David (10/5): Would Highly Recommend - Amazing two-night stay in a stunning location, the Shepherds Huts are quirky with plenty of character and very cosy. I would highly recommend
- Jayne (10/5): Excellent 4day break - Excellent stay, hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast choice was amazing and tailored to our needs. The farmhouse is beautiful, The scenery was stunning.
Would definitely recommend x
- Susan (10/5): Valentines visit - We stayed for 2 nights for valentines and had a lovely stay eventhough the weather was not good.
Restaurants and pubs are within easy reach and lovely to stay on the middle of the countryside with beautiful views.
As weather wet drove to Morpeth and walked around the beautiful park and highstreet.
- Paul (10/5): Great location to explore Northumbria - Beautiful location and hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Large bedrooms with lovely views. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
- Alex (10/5): Perfect farm house in stunning countryside. - Stunning setting, lovely farm house and friendly hosts. Perfect!
- maria (10/5): - Amazing hosts couldnt do enough for you .Room was really big very very clean ,breakfast was lovely .Had a great stay so highly recommended
- Mary (10/5): - Lovely Hosts and a wonderful breakfast!
- Chris (10/5): - Had a great time staying with Emma and Tim. Lovely, quiet location surrounded by fields of grazing cattle. Not far from Thropton & Rothbury and easy to use as a base for exploring Alnwick, Bamburgh, Cragside and the coast.
- Geoffrey (10/5): EXCELLENT STAY - Just spent 3 lovely days at Westfield House Farm. Emma made us feel totally at home, from the huge comfy bed to the delicious breakfast. The farm is surrounded by beautiful countryside but with easy access to the local area and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Westfield House farm as a comfortable base for exploring Northumberland. We'll be back!!
- Wendy (10/5): - The house and people were charming, friendly and welcoming. It was a real privilege to be welcomed into their house. The bed was comfy and the breakfasts to die for!!
Thank you Emma and Tim
- Mark (10/5): - This is a beautiful peaceful place to stay with a wonderful friendly ambiance. Excellent facilities, excellent food, lovely host in a stunningly beautiful part of the country.
- Samantha (10/5): The best! - We had the most wonderful stay here. Emma and Tim are great hosts. Our room was lovely, beautiful views all around. Lovely breakfast each morning. Really cannot fault it and would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back!
- Glen (10/5): Highly recommended, lovely relaxed stay - The old farm house has been tastefully modernised. There are only a couple of rooms and the owners are very helpful and friendly which was great.
Our allocated room was large with a large settee, a nice ensuite bathroom with shower, even a wood burner although we didn't need it in the summer.
Overall highly recommended, the only snag is it is a drive from the local town, there are no useable footpaths.
- Martina (10/5): Amazing find and can’t wait to return - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eyebright and can’t wait to visit again. We were very impressed with how modern, new and clean the bathroom in the hut was. The small details made packing for our stay easy, such as having tin foil, straws, cafetière, plenty cutlery and glassware, robes, slippers, towels, toiletries, plenty plug sockets and hot water bottle, which other places lack. The bed was so comfy and the little window added to the cute vibe. The hut had lots of natural light which was beautiful in the mornings, as well as twinkly lights at night which looked stunning from the hot tub and fire pit. There were plenty places to sit and the views were amazing, being surrounded by wild life. There were some logs supplied for the hot tub but I would definitely suggest bringing your own as more were needed. The other huts were far enough away from ours to feel totally private and undisturbed. The welcome hamper was delicious for breakfast and hot drinks. I only wish there had been a slightly larger fridge for our food if we had been staying longer and freezer for ice cubes, but we knew this beforehand so it wasn’t an issue. It also would have been lovely for the hot tub to be pre heated for our arrival as it took a couple of hours go warm up however, we had paid for an early check in so used that extra time for that.
- Richard (10/5): RIchard and Penelope - Wonderfully quiet, lovely rural setting, fine large room, excellent breakfast - what more could one want?
- Brian (10/5): Fantastic - Beautiful Guest House, spotlessly clean, great breakfast & fantastic hosts.
Highly recommended
- Frank (10/5): Truly great place to stay. - Truly fantastic location, quiet and serene. The owners were friendly and very accommodating, and went out of their way to be pleasant.
Although I didn’t have a cooked breakfast, my favourite porridge was prepared.
Only two rooms in main house for rent, which made a stay with friends, very nice.
Would definitely return.
- Mike and Doris (10/5): - People wonderful, scenery is a picture waiting to be taken. Total tranquility away from all noise. Only 30 miles North of Newcastle.
- mandy (10/5): - Beautiful surroundings in an idyllic setting. Huge comfortable room and extra comfy bed.
Emma was so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely loved every aspect of this delightful b and b.
Fabulous breakfast every morning. Coffee and cake on arrival. I even had a candle on my waffle for my birthday breakfast.
Would definitely recommend and will Absolutely stay there again if we arecever in the area.
- Gary (10/5): Great B&B - It's a lovely property. We were greeted with a warm welcome. The room was spacious with lovely views over open countryside. A full hospitality tray was provided with quality produce. Bathroom toiletries were of a similar high quality.
There was a wide selection of offerings for breakfast again of a high standard so no need to leave feeling hungry.
Just a short drive away into Thropton is a pub which provides friendly service, good food of ample portion size at a reasonable price.
Very pleased we booked here and would happily return.
I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B.
- Andrew (10/5): Relaxing Rothbury Retreat - If you are looking for a peaceful location in a superb setting, then we'd certainly recommend Westfield Farm.
We can't fault it!

Nothing is too much bother but you are not pestered and are left alone to do your own thing l breakfast is fabulous too and really sets you up for the day

- megan (10/5): - Perfect weekend away. We
- Bradley (10/5): Beautiful house and lovely hosts - Our stay at Westfield House Farm was lovely. Tim and Emma are fantastic hosts and clearly love running their B&B. They are very friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable for the duration of our stay.
Tim recommended some great walking routes nearby and has good knowledge of the surrounding area.
Emma is a fantastic cook and is extremely accommodating. We had a delicious breakfast on both days and felt very welcome there.
The views from the house are stunning. The house lies in the shadow of Simonside, a long hillside ridge at around 450m. The rooms in the house are south facing so the views of Simonside are incredible.
I would thoroughly recommend staying here; before we had reached the end of their drive on our departure we were already planning our return visit!
- Stew's (10/5): - We received the warmest welcome and thoughtful hosting throughout our stay. The room was spacious, lovely, and comfortable, including the bed, king-sized/double to Germans & North Americans - a nice surprise. A full range of amenities and an option to use a fridge are on offer. Emma was thoroughly thoughtful, helpful and provided a delightful, fresh, healthy, full course breakfast. The farm is conveniently located close to hikes and walks and is a short drive from pubs/restaurants in Thropton & Rothbury. A side trip to SILL & Hadrian's Wall is highly recommended. A wonderful place to stay in Northumberland!
- Georgina (10/5): - Exceptional
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in Demosille Shepherds Hut..... Oh my Goodness what fantastic memories we made. It was a proper little adventure we stayed for 2 nights and it was amazing. Tim & Emma are the perfect hosts, leaving fresh milk, eggs, bacon, bread, orange juice & marshmallows so we could have them over the open fire, sat on the log stools outside the Shepherds Hut. I cannot recommend this fantastic accommodation enough, especially if you just want a relaxing time away, my daughter didn't miss the tv or her ipad, we just had a fantastic couple of days as a family. We will be back
- Rebekah (10/5): Fantastic stay with incredible attention to detail - What a fantastic stay! Highly recommend this unique location, the Shepherds Huts really are one of a kind and provided not only a great retreat for us whilst attending a wedding in the area, but allowed us the opportunity to fully disconnect from the world. All the amenities provided in the hut were of the highest standard, immaculately presented and some fantastic pubs in the local area too. Will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the quiet peaceful setting. The house is beautiful and our bedroom and ensuite likewise. Emma was a superb hostess and her breakfasts gorgeous. A really lovely place to see, have already recommended it to friends should they be visiting the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Spacious and comfortable and tastefully furnished.Views from the windows wonderful. Straight across to Simonside. A lovely house.
- damon (10/5): - An absolute gem of a find a beautiful immaculate home, breakfast superb, location excellent and the hosts were an absolute delight
- Lynn (10/5): Tranquil setting for short getaway. - A 2 night getaway to access National Trust properties Wallington & Cragside. Our room was spacious & the bed very comfortable. Excellent breakfast made with fresh local ingredients. Emma & Tim are wonderful hosts. The B&B is set in a tranquil setting with fabulous countryside views. Within short drive to Thropton & great pub... Three Wheat Heads. Highly recommend.
