Guest Reviews
- William (8/5): - The reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 stars was for the following;
1) The bathtub did not have a mat in it… I slipped and fell the first day miraculously did not break anything… I went out to buy a bath after that
2) there was only one small trashcan in the entire apartment
3) The washing machine was not a washer and dryer… Strictly a washer… I realized that after doing laundry and had to hang dry it… A notice on the machine saying it’s only a washer would be helpful
4) The elevator was not working in the building for the 10 days I was there… Carrying heavy luggage up and from the apartment was a task.
5) extra clothes hangers would’ve been appreciated… They were only about 9
6) The shower spray was a handheld attached to the lower side of the shower… Not a mounted overhead shower… Making showering a difficult task.
These are small items, but put together were enough to remove a star… I would definitely recommend the place as it was so centrally located to everything with him walking distance
- David (8/5): Stayo Oxford St London - Location for a city break to London was perfect. Flat a bit sparce, couple of minor glitches. Overall though happy with our stay.
- tuan (8/5): - The positives: Quiet apartment. Very lively area. Close to metro. Many good restaurants, bars and coffee houses. Plenty of entertainment venues. Walking distant to many attractions: the British museum, Hyde park, St James Park, Buckingham palace,...
The only negative: The sofa bed can use a new mattress. It felt old and was very uneven. I weight under 63 Kg and was having a little trouble finding the "sweet spot". I can't imagine a heavier person can be comfortabe on the bed. I was told, however that the bed in the bedroom was very comfortable.
ONE COUPLE SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM.
I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.
- Reshma (10/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely little stay with 6 friends, stairs were tiring but was fine given we are all fit and well. Towels, iron, ironing board all provided. All was very clean. Communication was brilliant they allowed us to drop our luggage off at 12pm. Lots of food places and shops locally we found the location perfect. Use the 3 words app to locate, defo easier than Google.
- Elliemae (4/5): Very basic apartment calling for improvement. - On arrival we noticed excess hair on bed cushions and floor from previous occupants. The toilet seat wasn’t fitted properly the shower head contained hair and the amount of coffee, tea bags and other supplies were very limited. Not even a bottle of washing up liquid considering it being a self contained apartment.
- nicola (10/5): Perfect little studio ideally located - Ideal location just 5 mins from Tottenham Court Road underground.
Property was immaculately clean, towels & toiletries provided. Kitchen had everything you need for a short break.
Location is quiet despite being so close to Oxford Street.
The property is on 2nd floor & no lift, however, not a huge issue for us.
Pret & The Black Horse pub on your doorstep
- Janice (10/5): Hidden gem - We had or found no problem with this apartment! Very clean and very comfortable and fantastic location.
Definitely will stay again!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Too many stairs - Too many stairs
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good location, nice apartment.
- Graeme (8/5): Good location - Great central location with good communication from the Stayo team :-)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - The apartment is in a great location and was very clean and in good condition.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Central but too many stairs - Very central but no lift.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was excellent - except my girlfriend had a hard time with the spiral staircase ! She was huffing and puffing the whole way up to the 4th floor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, but lots of stairs - Great central location, but lots of stairs to top floor appt, so not ideal for lots of luggage or the frail.
- Emily (10/5): - Location was great! It was a 1min walk to a grocery store and it was easily accessible for transit. It was also within walking distance of many tourist attractions such as Covent Gardens and the British Museum. However, I wasn't aware that I would need to climb a flight of stairs and this was a challenge with my luggage. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would book this location for future travel to the UK.
- Hamada (8/5): - Excellent location , next to Oxford road. no elevator . Required deposit in addition to the booking fees.
- Janet L. (8/5): Very roomy! - This was a clean, bright apartment where three adults stayed for a week. Very comfortable. The owners/managers provided some nice extras: laundry soap, toiletries, tea, instant coffee, adapters for our American plugs (be sure to check voltage on the appliance first). There were no spices -- not even salt and pepper -- so take note of that. Two big drawbacks: the shower floor was very slippery. And the stairs to this 3rd floor apartment was a steep, spiral staircase -- very difficult to carry suitcases up! There were several restaurants nearby, grocery store, and the Tube stop was just a couple of blocks away (Tottenham Court).
- john (10/5): A great hotel for 1 night . Fantastic location . - Booked without a feeling of what to expect . It met my expectations . Great location . Room very very small but good for 1 night
- AHMED (10/5): - Great Location , 5 minutes walking to oxford street , there is a restarunts and Co-op near the apartment
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location was great; very central and useful for the West End. The problem was that it's over a banging nightclub and we got very little sleep until the small hours of the morning when the club closed.
- P (4/5): - Initially i booked in to check in around 3pm as my flight arrives at 1pm but the host suggested that i will take 2 hours to arrive so they ask me to rebook to 5pm. On the arrival day, we reached the hotel at 3.15pm with 6 big luggages wanting to check in earlier but we couldnt as the host said we could only check in at 5pm. I was annoyed because I initially book to check in at 3pm and they were the one suggested 5pm and obviously I wasnt familiar with the location and thinking that there might be traffic jam so took that advice. We rang the property and asked if we could at least leave the 6 huge luggages so we can go around to find some food to eat as we have not eaten our lunch but instead of that, he said he will send us a link of places so we can store our luggages. The service is just disappointing.
- Graeme (4/5): Poor value for money - 2 bed apartment but one of the beds was a very small single bed in a tiny room.
Only one tiny bathroom and no shower.
Not good value for the price paid :-(
- Sebastian J. (8/5): Great place and location - Nice confortable apartment.
Easy check in and great location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Apartment itself comfortable location excellent, there is a real problem accessing and entering the apartment, entry to an apartment loaded with garbage cans, no matter how much we woke up, there was no solution. Includes a picture of the entrance...
- Andrew (4/5): - Not the same place that was in the photos or location it stated. It was nearby but the company has a number of apartments in London and you just get what is free at the time.
This flat had four flights of stairs very narrow and could only fit one person at a time and a nightmare with a suitcase.
Poor communication and trickery by the company
- Heather (6/5): OK - The apartment itself was quiet nice, but the soundproofing between it and the apartment above was extremely poor. Given a family of 10, which included children that liked to run and jump, the noise level was very high. I also expected wi-fi, but did not find it available.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great apartment, poor check-in experience - The apartment and its location were excellent, but the check in process was abysmal. As soon as I made the booking, I was asked to provide the time I would be arriving; as we were due to be returning from Paris via the Eurostar, I told them when the train would be in and could only estimate the time of arrival. Unsurprisingly, we were delayed at the rail station, and I received a phone call telling me that because we were late, no one could meet us and we would have to wait another hour or so for someone to meet us to check us in. The person I spoke to berated me as he said he'd been trying to phone me...although I'd already told them we'd be on the Eurostar, and I never received any of their messages. Once we checked in, it was fine, although I then received another phone call 'regarding my request to check in', at which time I had to politely remind them that I had already checked in and was, in fact, speaking to them from the apartment.
The apartment was clean and comfortable, although the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. A note of warning - the apartment is up a flight of stairs and then a spiral staircase. Had we realised this, we would not have booked the apartment, as my friend had hip surgery about 6 months ago and found the stairs to be a bit of a struggle. Still, we were only there one night, so she was able to manage them in that time.
Overall, a very nice apartment in a great location, but the check-in leaves a lot to be desired.
- chilli (10/5): great location - very central - the welcome was friendly, the location is excellent and it is really good value for money. I will be using it again
many thanks
- Pete (2/5): Worst ever! - This takes the prize for the worst accommodation we have ever experienced! From the time we arrived where we were greeted with the security staff from the strip house next door to opening the front door entrance where we were in complete darkness due to the lights not working, trying to climb two flights of stairs with rubbish and papers on the floor. The room was pleasant enough until we heard the thumping music from the strip house until 3am every morning and the constant noise from the bar next door on the other side in stereo!
DO NOT STAY HERE, unless you want to be sleep deprived!
- Sharon (10/5): - The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Having additional seating other than the sofa that we used as a bed would have been nice, but it was not necessary as we stayed returned each night close to bedtime.
- keren (2/5): We had 2 mice (mouse) in the apartment - The location was good but all the rest wasnt. We had 2 mice in the room, the staff said there is nothing to do about it.... the facilities are old and broken.
Will not come back!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location - Comfortable rooms but a bit old and worn. Bathroom is very tiny. No lift to carry heavy bags up to the floor level. Noisy at night with lots of pubs in the area.
- Neil (8/5): Central, clean, cheap. - Dodgy looking place from outside but the apartment was very clean, perfect for a short stay. The staff member who met us and explained about the room was lovely - very clear, very helpful.
For the price, this was excellent.
- Greg (8/5): A nice surprize - Was apprehensive after reading some of the previous reviews, but urned out to be a very pleasant surprize. As it is an apartment there is no onsite service and key pickup had to be arranged and adhered to. Apartment was difficult to find in yard off street looking nothing like the online photo (just a ground floor door). Had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs (this is minimum), but in the end it was well worth it. Apartment was large (bedroom, kitchen, living and bathroom), comfortable and well appointed. Yard was security gated (but our card did not work). On balance it was a good pick and would definitely return - well located for shopping and restaurants.
- Maurizio (8/5): Excellent location - Great two bedroom apartment with adequate living area and kitchen. Excellent location just off Tottenham Court Rd not far from West End, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. Would definitely stay here again. Comparable in price with hotels in the area. Two flights of spiral staircase may be an issue if you need to haul up heavy luggage or suitcases. Otherwise awesome place to stay.
- Rebekah (6/5): - Easy to find and in a great location. Intimidating when returning at night due to Gentlemans club next door. Very noisy at night, due to the amount of people outside the club and the main window is wedged open which we couldn't close.
- Nicola (10/5): Central location and very clean - Great location for theatre and shopping trip. Sofa bed very comfy. Shower was amazing!!
- A & J (8/5): Perfect little homebase close to everything - Loved this little apartment in bustling Soho. It was the ideal place for a couple to be based while we did both typical tourist activities as well as met up with friends in different areas of London.
A minute's walk to the tube station, A 30 second walk to the shops on Oxford, and a 10 minute walk to Liberty (dangerous), Ronnie Scott's Jazz Bar and surrounding restaurants. It was perfect. By the way, there's an amazing burger joint just next door - Byron Burgers, we wish we could have taken their burgers home - delicious!
Kitchen came fully equipped with modern amenities, and it was handy to have a washing machine and dryer as we'd already been travelling two weeks by the time we arrived in London.
- Richard (10/5): Good place. - Ticked all the right boxes...
- Carbo (10/5): Very Central Location - We loved the location of this place. Truly saved us a lot of transportation cost!
- Hannah (8/5): Great convenient location - Booking experience was easy, check in staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating.
- Joanna (8/5): Convenient location - An enjoyable stay. Noisy at night time if sleeping on the sofa bed because streets were busier. Spiral staircase not ideal when travelling with 5 15-20kg suitcases. Overall a good stay. Would've preferred 3 bedrooms but the facilities were reasonable.
- Firoz (2/5): Reviews not accurate - The floors creaked all over, it was loud from outside and the other tenants, it was overall not comfortable. There was no airflow. Basically this should not be on Hotels.com as it is not a hotel, but an apartment for rent. We had no soap, and the washroom was very tight. It had a very run down feeling. Not a 3.5 Star rating. I would say at best 2 or less.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Excellent apartment but noisy location - Apartment was excellent but it was in a very noisy location.
- Jeffrey (8/5): A little stuffy but great location & price - Aircondintioning sucked and was not adequate at all. no fresh air through the unit as we couldn't open any windows. the room was very stuffy. having said that it was comfy, good size and reasonably priced. in a great location. overall quite happy
- Amy (8/5): Convenient, updated, though Spartan Soho apartment - Very enjoyable stay. Great accommodations value for a family of five, in an ideal part of London. The staff was friendly and helpful and made it easy to check in and get settled. The kitchen and bathroom were obviously recently renovated and added a nice touch. The walls could stand a new coat of paint and a few pieces of artwork, however, to warm things up a bit. And a few more floor lamps, and some extra pillows, blankets and towels for comfort would be welcome. Otherwise, we'd highly recommend the place.
- Jakob (10/5): A great place for a big group - The apartment was a bit hard to find, but when there is was great. Large rooms, nice kitchen/bathroom and very clean. Very central location too. Would definitely stay there again.
