Guest Reviews
- shah (2/5): Do not use - Didnt have a room available even though booking was confirmed by email, had to wait for someone to leave and then got their uncleaned room. Rude staff unhelpfull.AVOID
- jerrys837 (4/5): Mediocre at best - I had booked our family vacation, mom dad two kids under ten, on a package deal, last minute. I liked that the place had two pools and a few waterslides and had it's own private beach, all meals and local alcoholic drinks (beer, wine (the worst wine!), and harder stuff) included.
You really do get what you pay for. I can imagine for a family of very modest means, this could be a decent vacation. Almost everyone was Russian or Turkish. Nice people but very boisterous as a rule. They usually blasted pop techno music all day by the pools. At night, the nightly show ran until midnight, and the music was very loud. The food-the salads were very good and some of the chicken dishes were decent. Most of the other food you could see they cut corners and ordered cheap meat and bland cheeses, and this is unlike Turkey where you have some of the best food in the world.
The place was rough around the edges, they defer maintenance to save costs. One slide for example, the big one, badly needed a new wax coating, everyone got stuck midway and had to walk the rest of the way down. Just one example.
The beach there you could not swim in as the surf is rough, and you basically dodge the waves until you get bored. The facilities were again mediocre, three star, not four hotel.
In addition, the hotel is not in Alanya, but Mahmutlar, a good 12 km from Alanya which has a decent beach (Kleopatra beach). Nothing to do in that town, except some local shopping and the market.
I would never go back, either I would spend the money for a FIVE star hotel beach resort after thoroughly researching it on the internet or not at all. Going home was for us like getting out of jail. If your expectations are not high, you will not be disappointed, but if you want a really nice once a year vacation with an intelligent and interesting crowd, this is not anyplace you want to go to.
The staff was not rude, however they are all pretty much indifferent. And this is unusual for Turkey, I have always found Turks to be very hospitable. It's the kind of place, not for individuals but for bus tours which turn over every few days. They just get jaded and it shows.
Wifi was slow but available all over the hotel and the beach which was nice.
Oh, almost forgot. They dumped a ton of chlorine in the pool, to the extent that my son's blue bathing suit was bleached almost white by the time we left. You cannot swim after 7 PM, which for us would have been great, as in the heat of the day it's noisy, hot, and the sun is brutal.
- Kris695 (2/5): Avoid this hotel! - The worst experience ever!
Room was tiny, fully smoked, not renovated and old. Broken safe, no frige.
One restaurant for 3 big buildings. Not enough plates, knives, forks. Restaurant was like there were living pigs. Rude attitude from staff. Avoid this hotel.
- CavaQueen1970 (6/5): Klas Dom Hotel - not as bad as the reviews make it sound - We have just come back from a weeks stay at Klas Hotel Dom. I was extremely worried when i saw the reviews but tried to be positive.
We arrived at 1.30 am and were greeted by a very nice hotel manager who showed us our rooms. He also asked if we wanted any food or drink but we were very tired and just wanted to go to bed.
We were a party of 6 (3 boys aged 15, 23 and 30 and 3 girls aged 17, 25 and 42). We had only booked 2 rooms. In our room, which was small, there was 1 double bed and 1 single. The boys room was the same. This was perfectly acceptable to us. I cannot fault the room for it's cleanliness. There was even paper on the toilet to hold the lid down - like you get on new toilets. The room was immaculate and we had a balcony too which again, although small was nice and had a great view.
We went down for breakfast the next morning with some trepidation. Whilst the comments on other reviews are true, we always found something to eat. They have a great selection of cheeses and if all else fails you can make a sandwich.
Lunch was pretty similar, there was lots of salad so if you like salad you will love it. The food was well laid out and there was plenty to go around.
We also always found somewhere to sit and the waiters were very friendly.
One gripe is that the dishes weren't labled so my mate, who is a veggie, was unsure of what he could and couldn't eat. A simple V in front of the veggie dishes could solve this issue.
The pool is lovely although we had to be there early to secure sunbeds. If we were late then we just went to the beach where there were plenty. Only problem here is that the beach bar doesn't serve alcohol so no cold beers by the sea.
We were the only English in the whole hotel on our stay. The clientelle was predominately Russian but they were fine and a few even tried to speak to us. There were lots of smiles.
There were also lots of children. If i had young kids i would go back to this hotel. The entertainment for them was very good and they all seemed to be having a great time.
The location is fantastic. Sea out the front door and shops and restaurants out the back. A large pizza cost us approximately £4!
The Turkish were very welcoming and not in your face like i have experienced in Marmaris.
There is free wi-fi in most area's of the hotel and the drinks on the all inclusive are adequate. You can ask for cocktails but given the language issues (not many of them speak good english) it was a bit of a surprise as to what you actually got :-).
For what we paid for our holiday i cannot complain. We had marvelous weather, met some lovely people and had a great time.
I would recommend this hotel. The reason i have only given it 3 stars is because i always get very cheap holidays (we paid £310 each for a week and that included transfers AND the Visa) and compared to others it wasn't quite as good because of the food. However, if i could get it at the same price again i would definitely go back.
One thing to be aware of is that this hotel is 2.5 hours from the airport. I didn't realise this when booking but it was ok in the end and the resorthopper transport was very good.
Special thanks to the black guy Ackmid??? who seemed to work tirelessly from 9am until gone 3 in the morning. The kids loved him and so did we.
Thanks to all the staff who made our holiday special.
- 977DavidP (4/5): Klas Doom Hotel - My wife and I arrived only to be given the laundry cupboard to sleep in, so after seeing receptionist we moved to cell block H ( B actually ) slight improvement. All inclusive is a laugh the hotel ran out of rum on our 2nd day and never got any more, they only had vodka, lager and wine vinegar and they were watered down. Food was repeditive ( it kept coming up during conversation ) chicken for breakfast (eggs), lunch and dinner. The best things about this hotel was meeting up with other brits and the bar staff ( specially Adil ). If it wasn't for a group of us getting together then i feel our holiday would have been quite different. This is as the other reviews state not a 4star but a 2star, did I mention the sheety sheets!?
- mrssunnytimes2012 (8/5): Lovely Holiday - After booking our holiday we then checked the reviews and were thoroughly disappointed to read what people had written. But to our delight, we had a lovely time. Yes there were a lot of russian people there, some of whom are quite rude, but not all of them, the younger ones were friendly and tried to speak to you. The hotel itself was lovely, yes the 6th floor had the better rooms, but all the rooms were clean and the staff were helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The pools were great and the spa was fantastic. The food was as good as can be expected for all inclusive. Fresh and was hot if you got there early. The area was beautiful with many friendly staff in bars, shops and markets and the beach was beautiful. Overall although there were a few grumbles, we had a lovely time and were sad to be home!
- AgentMumma (2/5): Has to be the worst hotel all inclusive I've ever been too - Gutted we didn't take advise on all the other bad reviews as everything is true. For breakfast you have the choice of rolls, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, spam meat that tastes vile like it has died 3 times, plain rice pudding, a very strange selection of cereals. Coffee and tea machine very rarely work. Lunch time is salad which is tomatoes, cucumber carrot and onions, rolls and sponge cakes that have been soaked in some kind of watery syrup. Dinner time it's all processed meats, salads, rolls, different flavour soups and the same for puddings as lunch time. Staff are friendly. Full of Russians, only about 4 English groups of people in total. Rooms are very standard. 100% not 4 star. I would rate it 1-2 stars max. This is not for British! If you want to stay in turkey then I strongly advise not to stay in mahutmar as there is nothing to do. The hotel does not have a very good knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety. Please take note to all of these reviews and do not stay at this hotel.
- IanL821 (4/5): Klas Dom don't go - I arrived here 17 hours late not down the hotel but when I arrived my room was not ready I had traveled on my own booked a double with sea or pool view . The room I was given after 45 mins waiting was still in the process of getting cleaned it was a third floor jail cell sized room with two single beds in not what I had booked the bathroom door opend directly onto the Toilet pan a gap of two feet max to squeeze through if you are a portly type person like me forget it .then I find a ten foot patch of damp and a plug socket at the head of the bed hanging from the wall wires bare and everything .
Back down to reception I go most staff only spoke basic English " hello room you pay " that sort of English eventually the manager via a holiday maker understood my concerns and gladly moved my room to a pent house suit which is a normal sized twin room bigger bathroom thank god .
This was o ly the start of my problems (by the way I'm am here as I write this on my second day) I went to the restraint for my first food of he stay the dining area has aproxamatly 70 tables most are four seat there is two set of large mobile bays with the hot food in four larg trays in each both have the same food no written explanation of what the food is ask the staff they only speak Turkish or Russian her begins my worst night mare the hotel is full every room 640 in my block andossibly the same I the othe two blocks the doors open in run the locusts err sorry Russians I have never seen food go so quick as fast a a tray was replaced empty in two mins no joke it took me 50 mins to get a ladle of rice some roast potatoes and some sort of meat In sauce the fight for the bread and desert was still to come.
After a nice sleep I was woken at 6:45 by the cleaners to clean my room grrrrr
Breakfast the same messing about 45mins for scraps so I gave up and went the bar vodka sprite please no under stand you Russian you German no I'm English no understand grrr I point at what I want sorted at last this was every time today I went the bar .
Just had my evening meal yet again don't know what I ate but it was edible lol
The private beach is not that private it is an open beach strip with poles to seperate from the next hotel
Up to now this has been my worst holiday ever and I've been all over the world the hotel is supposed to be a 4star in what planet it is at best a 2 near a 3 if you get a top floor room then it's a 3 it is clean the food is not bad if you can get some
To sum it up iy you are Russian or can speek Russian or want too learn Russian then this is the place to come otherwise don't bother
- RichardS87 (6/5): What are all the bad reviews about? - I have today come back from the Klas Dom, and to say that I was a little worried about some of these reviews is an understatement !
The hotel was clean, the food was nice, and the staff were friendly.. I know its a little off-season now, but I really couldn't ask for better !
- 361shellyh (4/5): russian invasion - my boyfriend and i returned from klas dom hotel hotel recently and i have to say it is like a ******* russian war camp!!!! there was 7 english people in this hotel during our stay the rest were russian, they are without any doubt the rudest and most arrogant people we have ever come across in our life, they dont smile, push in at every meal serving like a pack of vultures, all entertainment is exuse the pun...russian standard the staff at the hotel dont like them either, every cloud! if your not lucky enough to meet any british in this hotel then go on the excursions to meet them cos the russians wont spend a ******* penny! on a plus side every guest who is not from russia we get the best hotel floor, very modern offering nice views, malmutlar is a 30min bus ride away from alanya so be prepared to travel to bars, resturants etc.. there is a few nice shops and resturants set back from the hotel but if its alanya you want avoid malmutlar its a 3hour airport transfer and drivers dont give a **** they get lost all the time!! the scenery around the hotel and area are stunning right in the heart of the turkish mountains and the excursions are a must just to get out of the hotel!! alcohol is only free until 11pm,and sunloungers on the beach are 5lira so take your towel, the pool area is very smelly and the waterfall was somewhat out of service all week, overall the area is ok but its to far away from alanya where it is all going on would not recommend this hotel definatly wont be returning to malmutlar we travelled blind ignorant to the few reviews availiable, please dont make the same mistake!!!!! ALANYA BEAUTIFUL!!! KLAS DOM HOTEL NEEEIITTT
- ZOELEE86 (2/5): KLAS DOM 2 * NOT 4* - The hotel is a 2 hour drive from the airport if the driver knows where your hotel is. Not for the british people at all. Hotel full of Russians not even an english sign up anywhere. The room was lovely clean and modern cleaner eveyday. FOOD: again no signage informing you of what the dishes were. I like to know what im eating. It looked like slop. We as british are known for fools abroard! Not from where i was standing Russian people drinking whiskey vodca morning to night. WONT BE GOING BACK THERE.....
- LizF538 (2/5): Klas Dom supposed to be 4* but more like 2* Not for the British - On arrival at 2am we checked in the receptionist spoke no english, and wanted a £10 deposit on the key. Our room was very dated with paint peeling from the walls, a large chunk missing out of the tiled floor, the curtains were hanging down and the bathroom shower tray mouldy and the drains smelled foul. The rooom was very basic, everything in reception was in Russian all the excursions were advertised in russian. The food was awful, catering for the russian market, the desserts were some sort of pudding that was served at every meal but a different colour each day, the only fresh fruit was melon which again was served at every meal. Salad was served at every meal even breakfast, but used the vegetables from the night before. Ive never eaten brussel sprout salad, but they served it. Bottled water and ice cream did not come in with the all inclusive so has to be bought. The pool has a lovel waterfall effect at the side but this smelled awful of bad drains so made sitting at the pool could only be dome in small visits. The staff look very unhappy in their work and did not smile much. The entertainment in an evening was a real joke!!! the entertainment team got 4 russians up on stage each night and asked them to sing a song then put ice cubes in their mouth and sing the same song, which they thought was funny. It was the same every night for the week we were there. The beach staff are very friendly and said hello every day. The beach was very clean and the sea beautiful, but beware of the rocks the current was very strong and you needed to be a strong swimmer to go further out. If you wanted lucnh at the beach instead of going into the main hotel you had to pay as this was not included in the package. We had burger and chips one day as we were so hungry as the main hotel food was so bad it was actually not bad.I would not recommend Klas Dom as a good hotel and certainly not for anyone british and would not consider returning in the future
- Dania16 (4/5): Choose better hotel with 4* - The hotel does not earn 4*.
We stayed in the main building. Food is apparently varied, but don’t hope to taste normal meat. Meat had a strange taste that was not good (soya?). Rarely chicken was available.
Fruit was not good. First days of our stay in a hotel they served watermelons which had no sweetness at all. Melons were not eatable during all our stay. There were no other sorts of fruit.
Desserts were not tasty as well, something like pudding massses + some sorts of oriental sweet.
Breakfast was available just until 9 a.m. If you will go on with eating some time after the stated time the waiter will say you to stop eating ... inpolite.
It was very unpleasant to face the situation when we were not given take-away food before going on an excursions. Take-away food ir prepared in all standard hotels. Our guide told us that we could have our breakfast before starting our journey. OK. Early in the morning we went to the restaurant, but ... we found only white bread, feta, olives and honey there. Even coffee was not available. This ir not a normal situation for a 4* hotel.
Our room was situated with windows to the main street. There was an intensive traffic all around the clock along this street. We are normally not fussy, but this noise was very disturbing during the night.
Our double room was extremely narrow! We had never stayed in such a small room before! It was impossible to move our not so big suitcase through the narrow passageway. When we asked our guide about other rooms in this hotel, he said that all the rooms are small. We also saw it ourselves when passing other rooms with opened doors by while they were cleaned. When we were showed our room we asked at the reception whether we could have a larger room. We were ready to pay some additional money for a larger one. We were shown 2 more rooms out of which we chose a „larger” one. For instant, one of the rooms we were shown was arranged in such a way that when opening the door you can just step into a bed. You have free space just some centimetres.
Our room was equipped with new furniture – it was ok...but this furniture was not suitable for the small space due to its big sizes. The double bed was encountered from both the sides so that it was possible to climb in it just from the back end; it was impossible to move along its sides (even to get to the bedside table) as the window was on the one side and the big wardrobe was at 15 cm from the other bed – side. The balcony was also very narrow. There were 2 plastic chairs and no table there like in other hotels.
We face a big problem with sewerage system in the bathroom during all our stay in the hotel. We informed the receptionist but the problem was not solved. After taking shower the water did not ran into the sewerage system on the floor, but stayed on the floor. Therefore also air in the bathroom stayed stuffy, stale.
The beach bar was ok. Also drinks and snacks.
Umbrellas at the beach were of a small size and they were wicker - made. Therefore we could not lie normally stretched under them if we did not want to get sun-burnt some piece of body (we are of 1,77 and 1,85 m). Also the umbrella’s cap’s plexus was a lot sparser than normally. Due to that people put their beach headkerchieves or dress on umbrellas in order to avoid the direct sunbeams and sunburn.
There was lack of small beach tables where to put some glass etc. like it is in other hotels. They had only appr. 5 such tables for all the area.
The sea was extremely waved. Waves with big force beat against the shore possibly due to the beach was not so flat like elsewhere. The most part of people did not swim as they could not get into the sea as waves beat and overthrew to the ground. There was just a narrow strip to get into the sea, and it was not marked taking into account the big stones from the both sides. The hotel should think about marking the area that people can see where stones are. We saw no lifeguard too.
Some 3 times we went by bus to swim to the Alanya centre – Damlatas beach where the sea was not so wavy and it was possible to walk into the sea normally and swim.
- LindsayB743 (4/5): Not for the Brits - This hotel was really disappointing, being advertised as 4 star it rated no better than a 2 star "on a good day" The first room we were given had the most disgusting smell enimating from the drains in the bathroom that we had to be moved immediately. The second room was tired and shabby but at least was odourless! The food was mostly unrecognisable and tasted quite terrible. The guests were predominantly Russian and everything was geared to them including the entertainment, definetly not a place to go if you want the traditional all inclusive break. All in all this was a tired and shabby looking hotel that has seen much better days. Give it a miss!!
