• Doris (10/5): Ich würde wieder dort übernachten, wenn ich auf meiner nächsten Japanrundreise bin. - Es ist ein kleines und sehr feines Hotel in den Bergen von Aso. Sehr idyllisch gelegen, man hat einen Onsen auf der kleinen Terrasse von dem man in einen schön angelegten Garten mit Teich schauen kann, in dem sich manchmal Morgens wilde Affen tummeln. Wer die Ruhe liebt und eine sehr authentische japanische Gastfreundschaft genießen will, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Von hier kann man tolle Ausflüge in die wunderschöne Umgebung machen. Das Essen ist sehr traditionell japanisch, auch das Frühstück. Sehr saubere Zimmer mit bequemen Betten. Sehr freundliches und höfliches Personal.

• Yuval (7/5): נוף מדהים, צוות שירותי, אבל קצת מאכזב - מיקום מדהים עם נוף מטורף, האמבט הציבורי, מתקני המלון ומתקני הסאונה הציבוריים - חדשים, מרווחים ונקיים. באופן כללי צוות נחמד ושירותי מאוד. במהלך השהייה היינו ב-2 חדרים שונים עם אמבט פרטי באוויר הפתוח: הראשון הכולל אזור טאטמי, היה לטעמנו מיושן מאוד ולא מתוחזק מספיק (וגם מלוכלך..); השני, היה קטן יותר אבל הרגיש שעבר שיפוץ מתישהו והיה יותר מזמין ומתוחזק, ולטעמנו עדיף בהרבה על הראשון. בשניהם האמבט הפרטי היה נחמד. כאמור, לדעתנו בחדרים/אזורים מסוימים יש קצת בעיות של ניקיון ותחזוקה. בעוד שיש חדרים/אזורים חדשים ומתוחזקים, יש חדרים מאוד מיושנים ומלוכלכים שלא שווים את התמורה לדעתנו. בנוסף, התאכזבנו מאוד מכך שמפורסם כי מדובר בארוחת ערב של ״וואגיו״ ובפועל מדובר בארוחת רבת מנות מסורתיות (ללא אפשרות בחירה), ואילו המנה העיקרית (״הוואגיו״) היא כמות מועטה מאוד של בשר וחלק זניח מהארוחה (שלוש חתיכות קטנטנות). אציין שביקשנו התאמות מסוימות מראש ביחס לסוגי מזון שאנו לא אוכלים, והצוות היה אדיב בהתכתבות בנושא. לצערי הוגש לנו מזון שביקשנו מפורשות לא לקבל, הצוות ניסה לעזור אבל הסיטואציה הייתה מאכזבת אחרי שהתכתבנו איתם בנושא מראש.

The onsen is very nice, too - indoors and outdoors. A lovely, lovely place to stay for a few days, when in the Aso area of Kyushu. Sleeping on tatami! We loved absolutely everything.

• Peter (10/5): Best stay in a long time. Recommend this place for visits to Kyushu! - Let me start with an advise; when you come to Japan go to Kyushu and stay in this hotel. My wife and I enjoy our last evening here (we stayed 5 nights) and this hotel is excellent. The location, the room (we stayed in the suite), the food, but most of all the excellent staff. The staff make you feel welcome, the service is warm and personal, yet professional at the same time. They know who you are from the moment you arrive. One of the best performances we experienced and we travel a lot. My wife has a rare allergy and they provided special meals for here. Exceptional. The hotel is also very clean and is recently renovated. The onsen in the room and the public one are comfortabel / beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Mount Aso, Kumamoto, Beppu, Oita, Takachiho gorge et cetera. Can’t recommend this place enough! All above expectation

• A (10/5): A wonderful stay - I had an excellent stay in Hotel Yumeshizuku. Before my arrival, staff provided the choices of meal to choose. Upon arrival, they were very helpful, from checking in to bringing us around. The room is big, the bed & quilt were so comfortable.There is an outdoor hot footbath for our tired feet. Both dinner & breakfast provided was so yummy. I've nothing to complain except my stay was too short. Will definitely come back if I've a chance.

The view of Mt. Aso from the third floor lookout and the footbath area is impeccable. Also, much special thanks to Mr. Isao Tsugayasu, who was extremely helpful and kind to us throughout the stay! We also like the large room with standard beds, tatami living room and a standard TV area. The bath experience is fantastic. The dinners and breakfast were all of high quality and good quantity. It is also a convenient hotel to launch visits to ASO. The only challenge is that one must drive there. Nothing. The hotel is in an isolated area which is why we chose it.

• Jd (8/5): Really nice onsen Ryokan with superb service and amazing staff - Nicely located in a rural location in the Mt Asa area, this is a really nice Ryokan with amazing staff that are really welcoming and helpful. We stayed in one of the private onsen rooms which is basically a large stone bath that you can fill up yourself and has views out to an outdoor pond but is screened so that it is still private. This was a really nice feature because we could control the temperature of the onsen bath for our 2 year old child as we often find that the public onsens are a little too hot for her. The onsen water is from a genuine hot spring because you can smell the sulphur in the water The food in generally was really good with a huge variety of traditional japanese dishes and great service Overall I would say that the service was just amazing, the staff are really helpful and friendly. We really couldn't ask for more.

Had the clouds not been in the way we would have views during check-in, during dinner, from our outdoor hot springs and from the observation deck, the weather was uncooperative and we missed out on the view but did not take away from the location of the hotel itself.
